Forwarded emails with attachments not showing email thread history

Hi,
My boss has a Mac laptop and forwards me emails for me to action. When the emails have attachments the email thread history doesn't come along with the email, so all the conversation leading up to the email being forwarded. It just shows what he has written and stops at the signature.
When an email is forwarded without attachments the thread history is included. We've done some testing and it's specific to him and his Mac.
Sorry I don't have a mac laptop myself so don't know a lot of details about what he uses but can find out information that is important to solving the issue.
I've had a good look but can't find any setting on his Mac to change this, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Simon

Still love any advice on this issue if anyone can help????
Thanks

  • Email sent with attachments not showing in sent folder

I have recently found that emails I send with an attachment do not show up in my sent folder. They are arriving at recipient but I do not then have a record of the email sent.  This is really very annoying and I can see a few other poplin online forums are having the same problem.  However nobody seems to have come up with a solution.  It appears I have to cc myself in to the mail and then move it to my sent folder when it arrives. I can't keep doing this.  Other emails without attachments are showing in the sent box.  Does anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this please.

Didn't work for me... (rebuilding the mailbox)
I cleaned the Sent mailbox and rebuilt the culprit mailbox and the general "Sent" mailbox.... sent a message.. it 'hung' in the Outgoing Message box for @ 20 seconds and it sounded as if it were sent and when checking the Sent mailbox for that account, it did not show.... I tested this again with another message addressed to myself and it sent as expected and showed in the Sent mailbox for the account... Did another test to a different recipient and the message sent as expected and showed in the Sent mailbox... The only corrollary that exists at this stage, is the recipient of the "disappearing" messages is that I email this particular recipient very regularly and at times with long threads... However, these last messages were completely different subjects and previous replies to this persons email sent as expected.... so this is a random occurrence.

  • Mail - GMAIL - Attachments Not Showing UP

Suddenly on my iPad, for no apparent reasons, some of emails with attachments are showing up just plain ordinary emails with no attachments. There is no paperclip logo on the e-mail. I logged into the account on Safari browser and it appears those emails have been classified as an inline attachment. Again no paperclip logo on the emails. But, I am not sure that would be the reason behind the sudden disappearance of attachments on iPad because when I initially received those emails I could open/view the attachments on iPad. I did forward the e-mail to quite few people, though.
On my iPhone (3G, iOS 4.2) I don't appear to have the problem.
I have restarted iPad. I have re setup the account, etc. But still nothing.
    What could be the cause?

I have this happen all the time; it seems to be a known bug with Mail, and Apple doesn't seem interested in fixing it. Every week or so Mail will stop showing attachments. If I quit Mail and restart it, then it shows them and everything's fine. It's extremely annoying.

  • Attachments not showing as attachments in mail

Why are my attachments not showing up as attachments when recieved. They are sent from Mail as windows "friendly" - but never the less always show up inlaid in the mail. The recipient then have to ctrl clik on the documents, save them on the harddrive before being able to fx print.
very annoying indeed - please can anyone help on this :-)

thanks for quick responce - but the problem lies with the recievers of MY mails - where the attachments is only inlaid and not showing as an attachment. The reciever then have problems opening attachments in i.e. Photoshop, and they cannot print the attachments directly from the mail..

  • HT3180 Anyone having trouble with Netflix not showing up in the internet menu?  I am trying to do a reset, but it says it can't download latest updates try again later.

Anyone having trouble with Netflix not showing up on the Internet Menu?  I have tried to do a reset and then restore, but it says that "the latest update download cannot be done at this time, try again later"

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
    Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore.

  • History is blank! does not show any browsing history even changing the settings v 3.6.20 Mac OS

Regardless of the settings you choose, Firefox is not showing any browsing history. It's happening in version 3.6.20 for Mac as well as V 5 for windows. I see a lot of the same questions on the internet but no answers

I'm on Linux. There is no QuickTime for the Linux platform, but I see the player loading (caching) that movie. The Gecko Media Player doesn't seem to be able to play that file embedded, but does play it if I open the .mov file directly in the player.

  • Email replies not showing in thread

I have used Mac Mail for many years with no problem.
Recently I noticed that when I receive a reply from an email, it shows up in the lefthand column as usual (where I get the list of all emails and just the first couple of lines of text), but when I click on the relevant email it does not show the reply at all. Normally I would expect to see it above my my recent contribution to the thread.
Has anyone else had this?  How can I get to see the email replies.
    Thanks
    Rob

Hmmm, Rob, in Mail's Menu>View, is organize by thread checked?

  • Email with attachments not delivered how to resend

I Sent an email with attachments but it wasn't delivered. How can I resend it with amended information?
I Also can't open the attachments to see which photos they were.

Find it in your sent folder, then forward with any changes.  If it isn't in your sent folder, check your outbox.

  • Attachments not showing when email message printed

I recently sent an e-mail with 11 attachments. When I printed that e-mail message, it did not show the 11 attachments in the body of message as has previously. Any suggestions?

Fixed it on my machine!  Found the solution via an similar problem people were having in the Aperature program.
    SEE HERE:
    http://aperture.maccreate.com/2011/08/25/aperture-3-will-not-play-videos-if-lion -is-installed-and-3ivx-video-codec-is-installed/
I did a spotlight search for 3ivx on my computer and it found an 3ivx UNINSTALLER.
After uninstalling 3ivx and restarting - MOV VIDEO files worked again in my Apple Mail client.
I wasted 2 weekends of clean installs etc etc.  Glad it's ficed though.

  • Mail attachments not showing as icons but as blue square with ? in

This is probably going to sound very odd but recently all attachments that I send or forward come up with the attachment showing as a blue block with question marks on the site - something like a piece of lego.
Anyone got any ideas what the problem is and how to resolve it?
    Thanks
    Mail version 2.1.2 (753)
    OS 10.4.11

As a follow-up, Apple did help.
Called Tech Support and spoke at length with Mujahid. He went through the system carefully and confirmed (by creating another 'user account') that the problem was 'system wide'. He then requested that I trash the current Mail application and re-install Mail from the disks that were provided with the iMac. I then restarted the iMac, opened Mail (now v2.1.1), created a test email and attached a jpeg...............
Eureka! Problem solved. No more blue lego cubes with question marks.
It doesn't explain how the problem arose in the first place and I don't know if it will recur if I upgrade to Mail v2.1.2 I did use the 'migration assistant' when moving files over from the old laptop with 10.3.9 and it may have been that something nasty crossed over. Anyway, its fixed now.
    All hail Mujahid.

  • Attachments not showing up in Mail

Do anyone have a usable solution for getting attachments to show up correctly in Mail? Every time I receive emails with an Excel or .csv, or for that matter .psd, .pdf or .doc files in them, the attachments never show up in the message body field or listed among the attachments.
To give you an example: My list view of emails show the email with the paper clip icon and "4 items", but only 3 items are visible from both the preview window and when I open the email.
I know there is a work around by selecting File > Save attachments, but come on that is not really a viable solution in an office setting when I receive 100-200 html emails with attachments, logos and other stuff on a daily basis.
Do any of you kind superusers found a usable solution for this problem that doesn't involve saving everything attached from the File menu?
    Br,
    Christian
And Apple... come on... you have got to be kidding with this #€#%!!! How can you be expected to be taken seriously as a productivity tool when something as simple as receiving attachments doesn't work. I feel like an idiot having purchased a MacBook Pro but still have to use Entourage because the most basic stuff isn't working as intended! (end of rant)

This sounds like either the sender's or the recipient's (your) mail server is scrambling the attachments. This is becoming more and more common as ISPs try to scan for viruses and phishing attempts. If this is what is going of, it is very easy to detect. If you want, you can send one of these messages to me and I can tell you if my hypothesis is correct. Send the message to info at etresoft dot com and use the "Send Again" feature, not "Forward".

  • Encoding problem when forwarding mails with attachments using exchange account

    Hi,
I'm facing a special misbehaviour of mail. Scenario: With Apple Mail 7.2 I would like to forward an exchange mail with attachments. The mail is wirtten in german and uses german special characters like äüöÄÖÜ. During editing the mail everything is ok which means all characters are shown in thte correct way. When I send the mail, something magic must happen in the background.
When I look in the sent mail folder and open the mail, all special characters are show as "?". Must be an encoding problem, I gues but I don't know how to fix it.
When I send exactly the same mail with another Apple mail account (non exchange), there is no problem. So I assume it has something to do with handling exchange accounts under Apple mail.
Any idea to solve this issue? Thanks in advance.
    Br,
    Jakob

This is a know issue with Yahoo! Email on the iPhone. When sending email, sometimes it will say it has been sent, while it really has not (and it will not show up in the sent folder).
It has been discussed quite a bit in the forums, so a search will turn up a lot of discussion, but no solid solution. Some say Yahoo is working on a fix, other that Apple is.
The most common solution (which is usually temporary), is to either reboot your phone, and/or delete and reinstall your Yahoo! Mail account on your phone.

  • Attachments Not Showing up for Sort in Sent Mail

In Lion Mail, the small paper clip icon that indicates an attachment is not showing up in the sent messages list. I'm using classic view and often I need to sort by attachments. I recently upgraded to an iMac with Lion. The attachment icons are appearing for emails that I sent in the past on my old machine and imported into Mail when I set it up, but any emails I've sent in Mail 5.1 are not showing the attachment icon for sorting.
When I mail myself an attachment, the attachment icon IS appearing in my inboxes lists, but not in the sent list.
I've played with attachments settings to see if I can figure out why, but had no luck. Anyone know a solution? Thanks!

Hi Michael - I too have exactly the same problem in Lion. It seems to be a bug.
A minor one, given all the other much larger issues I have with Lion.
I'm living with it in the expectation that someone will fix it. I notified it ages ago - long before the recent Lion update.
I am mainly using Snow Leopard. This problem doesn't happen in Snow.

  • Acrobat plugin Build with SDK6 not Showing in Acrobat X and XI

I'm working on an old Plugin build for Acrobat (not reader) using SDK v6.
This plugin worked fine, upto Acobat 9. (it is only used in Windows)
Now some users tell me it is not showing in Acrobat X.
So I installed a trial verison of Acrobat XI.
After reading some threads, I removed all the references to ADM.
Recompiled it (VisualStudio 2010), and put the debug version in the PLUG-INS folder of Acrobat
But there in no Menu added...
In the General System Information, it is listed under Installed Plug-ins.
But when running in VisualStudio, none of the callbacks is hit. (this worked fine when I was using Acrobat9)
Some of my users are using the plugin in Acrobat7 so I prefer still using SDK6.
Are there any other things that could be incompatible.
What is the first Callback that Acrobat uses to talk to the Plugin.
Can Acrobat give me any info on what is wrong with my Plugin.
    Johan

If the plug-in is not even loaded, chances are that something goes wrong
when the OS tries to link the plug-in to dynamic libraries. Verify that you
have all the libraries installed that are required to run the plug-in.

  • Why do Apple Mail attachments not show in SENT?

    I use Mountain Lion OSX10.8.2 on a 27" iMac/1TB HD/12GB RAM.
When I write an Apple Mail email and attach a jpg (for example),
I am never sure if the attachment was sent.
Apple Mail will not show me in SENT that there was an attachment.
There is no record of the attachment on the previous sent email.
Am I missing something? How the heck am I suppose to know if
ANY attachment was sent or not?

Hmm I thought this got sorted out in 10.8 but maybe not.
I asume you are in full screen, with the three column view?
If you change to classic you should see the attachment paper clip?
What I had to do for a work-a-round was create a "rule." Even with this you have to right click the selected sent box>> apply rules
