Forwarded messages and Signature show up as many attachments

Hi,
Whenever I send or forward an email (OsX 10.3.8 - Mail 6.3) that has attachments to a Win based Outlook (2010) it changes the attachments, my signature and the body text to several different attachments like, (Unitled attachment 00336.htm etc.) also with some blank htm files with similar names.
The receiver of the email needs to go through the many attachments one by one trying to make sense of all which is unprofessional. In most of the cases they dont and just delete the email which has a blank body.
But when I send an email with no attachments then my signature and the body text of the email shows un-alterd.
I would appreciate a solution on this as I dont want to be forced to go back and start using Win based mail client.
Thanking you all in advance.

Well its back to using Outlook for professional and Mac mail for leisure purposes untill this problem is resolved.
I would still appreciate a response if and when there is a solution to this problem as I still want to revert to Mac mail.
Regards.

I have just upgraded to Mountain Lion and my signatures for my Mail are not showing up. I have the signatures inthe preference panes and selected for the email address, but when I make a new message, the signature shows as none and doesn't give me a choice. Yesterday, the signatures were stacking instead of switching to the one I wanted to choose.

I had this and fixed it.
I had upgraded to Mountain Lion and my signatures in Mail were fine. But then about a week later, I got a new computer and used Migration Assistant to copy my stuff to the new machine. Upon opening Mail, I had all the correct Signature information in the Preferences>Signatures window, but nothing worked.
After lots of hunting, I found the Signature Folder. It's in:
    Yourusername>Library>Mail>V2>MailData>Signatures
Looking at my previous setup (which works) I saw in that folder two types of files: .webarchive and .siganture
Looking in my new machine's Signature folder, I saw only the .webarchive folders, not the .signature folders
Since this was literally a clone of my previous setup to a new machine, here's what I did:
    1. Quit Mail
    2. In Problem machine, go to
    Yourusername>Library>Mail>V2>MailData>Signatures
    3. Move the Signatures folder someplace safe, but out of the MailData folder
    4. Get the Signatures Folder from the working install (like a backup) and copy it to the MailData folder on the problematic machine
    5. Start Mail on the problem machine
This worked for me. I don't know why Migration Assistant didn't copy the full signature folder, but this fixed it. It worked perfectly partly because I had just backed up with Carbon Copy Cloner and the very next day set up the new machine. I don't know where Lion or earlier versions of mail stored signatures, but the absence of the .signature filetype seems to be the problem.
    Hope this helps

  • I want to forward a message with the default headers included, but can't seem to set my mail preferences to include the headers when forwarding, just the original message ends up in the forwarded message and not the headers?

I want to forward a message with the default headers included, but can’t seem to set my mail preferences to include the headers when forwarding, just the original message ends up in the forwarded message and not the headers?  What I'm trying to do is report SPAM and add headers to a spam message to forward to sites that go after the spammers.

Did you check the article and the add-on mentioned there?

  • What does it mean when you send someone a text message and it shows a red check mark next to their message?

The person I sent the message to has a different provider so they are not a Verizon member but for some random people I will send them a text message using my Verizon phone and it shows a red check mark next to the text message I sent them before they even reply. A few of the people that get this red check mark are not even Verizon users. So what is this red check mark and also why do some people I send text messages to get it but others don't?

A red check means the text wasn't sent (maybe the number has been changed, they have texts blocked, there was a network problem).

  • AOL email issues-sent messages and signature

Hi - I just got the BB Curve (verizon) and have the following questions:
-Is there a work around for syncing sent messages using AOL?  I really need this feature and am disappointed it won't work with BB.
-How do I add a signature; there is no text box when I go to edit my email account and I have tried logging into my account online and get an error message.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

After doing some research and testing, BB does not sync sent emails to or from AOL;  see http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB05133&sliceId=SAL_Pub...
Because this is important to me and one of the reasons I upgraded from a cell phone to BB I have come up with the following work arounds:
Emails sent from AOL on my PC - I set up a BB email address account and bcc all sent emails from AOL on my PC to the BB address so they are all sent to my HH.  I set up the BB email in BIS so that any replies or emails I send show as coming from my AOL account.
Emails sent from AOL on my HH - I set up this account in BIS so that all emails I send from AOL on my HH are bcc'd to my AOL account.  It's kind of annoying that I then have a duplicate on my HH and need to manually delete one of them, but I'll live with it.  Hopefully, BB will work with AOL and fix this in future upgrades
I ended up calling Verizon and they walked me through registering my HH with the network.  This needed to be done on my HH because I got that HTML error message.  After that I was able to login on my PC set up the email accounts, signatures, etc.
I am new to BB so my terminology may not be correct, but I hope you understand.  If not, feel free to contact me to clarify.  Thanks.

  • Gmail won't send messages, and Mail shows sent messages when I don't want

I have my Gmail account set up through the Mail application. I can receive messages fine but I can't send them. So I send them by actually logging into Gmail. Now when I send them that way, they show up in my Mail account but i don't want them to. Help please!

I am having the same problem. I have tried Mulder's solution without success.
    Here is some background:
I have two gmail accounts. My normal "[email protected]" account with which I am using POP does send mail. However I also have a google apps account ("username@my_domain.com") connected with IMAP and I can't send using this one. I have tried the various ports suggested by gmail help. It won't connect with the outgoing server. I ran a Telnet test and my computer is connecting with the server, but it appears as "offline" in Mail. User authentification and SSL are both checked (although I have also tried unchecking them).

  • My old messages do not show on my new iphone 6.

I am able to send new messages and they show in the log but none of my old messages show anymore. I just moved from my old faithful iPhone 4s to the iPhone 6.

Try to restore your iphone via iTunes or update to ios6.1.2.
If itunes gives an error with restoring (DFU/Recovery or just normal)
    try this:
open your computer and search on windows; C://windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts
open up the hosts file in note pad you will see IP adresses and more add another line and put in this:
    #74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
this is a by-pass to the cydia/saurik restore server, it has nothing to do with jailbreaking over voiding apple's warranty
    let me know if succeeded!

  • Mime attachments / forwarded messages

It seems when I receive a forwarded message on any of my mail accounts using my iPhone, all I see is a mime icon that is unable to be clicked. I have checked to see if the message as been downloaded (they are). It appears to happen with aol messages sent.
Now, when I view the same messages on my macbook pro using Safari, the messages appear as they should. Is there a setting that I have missed?
    Thanks.

No such missing setting but some email clients when forwarding a received message that was composed in HTML especially, forwards the received message as an attachment instead of a true forwarded message and this can also occur when sending the same type of message via webmail access using a browser depending on the email account provider.
MIME 1.0 is the industry standard for attachment encoding and decoding and when an email client receives an attachment file type that is not recognized or supported, MIME attachment will be displayed for the attachment instead.
This seems to be a limitation with the iPhone's email client since I can also read the same type of received message with the Mail.app on my Mac but the root of the problem probably stems from using HTML for message composition which Microsoft wrought upon the internet with Outlook and Outlook Express. If HTML for message composition was no longer supported, the majority if not all problems associated with email exchange would be eliminated and Windows sufferers would improve their swiss cheese for security operating system and MS email clients somewhat.

  • TS3899 The previews of my email messages show properly, but when I attempt to call up the full message it only shows addressees, message title and time of dispatch. . I can only recover msg content if i draft a reply or forward msg. How can I resolve?

The previews for my email messages show correctly but when I attempt to call up the full message all that shows are the addressees, title and time of dispatch. I can only view full message content if I draft a reply or forwarding message. How can I resolve this?

    # Yes, if you go to accounts.firefox.org, sign out, you will now be signed out.
    # Sign back in, and you will be asked to save the password you entered.
    # This will save the password and autocomplete if you have this option turned on.
I am not exactly sure why the menu did not detect the password change or if it was stored incorrectly after you changed it? But after storing the correct password you can manage any duplicate passwords in the password manager.[[Password manager - Remember, delete and change saved passwords in Firefox]]

  • Signature & forwarded messages now showing up as attachments

Whenever I send an email with attachments, it also changes my email signature and any forwarded messages to attachments. I've tried this in rich-text and plain text format. The only difference is the type of attachment that is sent (HTML vs. TXT).
This just started about a month ago. Before that everything worked perfectly. This is affecting everyone in my company. We are using Mail on Exchange Server with Snow Leopard. I contact our Exchange administrator, and nothing has changed on their end.
    Any ideas?

I have a user here at our site that's been experiencing the same issue. He's on 10.6.2, sending to other users on an Exchange 2007 server. Recipients using Mac Mail see his mail as he authored it, with the attachments and forwarded mail text inline. Recipients using Outlook 2007 see non-mail attached content as normal attached files, and any forwarded mail (text?) content as ATT0000x.htm attachments. Not sure when this issue crept up, exactly, but we didn't seem to have a problem until the last couple of months.

    Hi,
First, try the automated fixit from Microsoft on the link below.
    Windows 7
    Vista
Check if the drive is now working.
If it still doesn't work, click the Start Menu, open All Programs, open Accessories, right click the Command Prompt and select 'Run as Administrator'.  In to the prompt type the following command and hit enter.
sfc /scannow                 ( note that there is a space between sfc and the / )
Let the process complete, then type exit and hit enter.
Next, click the Start Menu, open the Control Panel and click on Device Manager.  Next click to open DVD/CD-ROM Drives.  Right click the drive and select uninstall.  Do not delete drivers if asked.  When the device has uninstalled click on the 'Scan for Hardware Changes' icon ( usually just below Help on the toolbar ).  Let windows reinstall the drive and see if it now works.
