Forwarding all Apple mail individually to a Gmail account?

How can I forward all Apple Mail messages individually?
If I select all messages and go to forward, they all get forwarded in one huge email.
I just want to forward each message individually to my Gmail account, but not do it one message at a time.

Hi there,
Not really an exact answer to your question, but I think this will help you back up or make things available via Gmail if that is your goal.
Mozilla Firefox web browser has the ability to have extensions installed, one of these is called Gmail Space. This enables you to upload any files from your computer (Mac and Windows versions available) to your Gmail account area(2Gb as standard). It has a simple drag and drop interface, similar to FTP software.

  • Why can't I automatically forward from Apple Mail to Gmail?

Why can I no longer automatically forward mail from Mac Mail to Gmail account automatically. This worked fine till a few days ago but no longer. I hadn't changed any settings.  have asked about this in Gmail forum but no useful answers, I have now changed various setting but makes no difference. Most of the Gmail help is oriented to Mail 4.0, I have 3.6, so that doesn't help (can I upgrade, I have OS10.5.8), I uploaded MailUpdate but it would it wouldn't let me install).
Maybe there is a way via Mail Forward but that seems for forwarding _from_ webmail _to_ Apple Mail.
    All help gratefully received.
    Thank you,
    Michael

I suppose Gmail is forwarding to Apple Mail but not v versa, hardly anything at all is landing in Gmail.
My Apple Mail is a POP account, but IMAP -enabled in Gmail if that makes sense, Gmail help says that's what you should do to forward from POP to Gmail.
I want to forward them to Gmail so I can read my POP mail on my PC at work, as I said this worked beautiflly since I started in Feb till last week, then stopped for no apparent reason... As alternative I use mail2web which is just about okay but very slow, no outbox, no spam or other filtering, keeps timing out.
Yes something is doubling up but not sure what...
In my Apple Mail I have two accounts, both POP, one my regular apple mail account, the other my Gmail account, but settings are different according to Gmail help but not sure if they  are right any more..
    thanks again

  • How do I synch iPhone 4S, Apple Mail 3.6 and Gmail?

I believe this is the simplest way to phrase this:
I want everything that I do to my Gmail account, no matter where I do it (iPhone 4S, Apple Mail 3.6 on a MacBook Pro, and Gmail on the web) to synch across those three platforms.
Now on to the more complicated part and multiple questions:
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the only way for iPhone 4S, Apple Mail 3.6 and Gmail web to behave completely "in synch" is to use ONLY IMAP...and therefore, the first step I took was to DISABLE POP on Gmail web, and ENABLE IMAP on Gmail web.
Problem #1: My Apple Mail account was originally set up as POP. Therefore, I created a "second" gmail account in Apple Mail, using the same username and password, but choosing to use IMAP rather than POP. So now MAILBOXES in Apple Mail has 2 "sub inboxes" under my Inbox, which I named "Gmail Pop (for archival purposes only)" and "Gmail - IMAP." There is also "DRAFTS" (unchanged), "SENT" (unchanged), and "TRASH" with 2 "sub trash cans" - Gmail Pop and Gmail IMAP.
    * Since POP is disabled, at this point is it safe to completely delete the entire POP account from my Apple Mail? If I do that, will "Gmail Pop" disappear as a "sub inbox" and "sub trash can"? I would like to have only 1 INBOX and TRASH under MAILBOX in Apple Mail.
    * Once I am ONLY using IMAP on my MacBrook Pro, what happens when I have no wireless / internet connection (for example, when I'm out of my condo and riding on the train)? Is there any way to actually download my Inbox, Drafts, Sent and Trash folders to Apple Mail on my Mac using only IMAP - so that I have the option to work offline?
Problem #2: I figured out how to change the setting on my iPhone so that I can actually delete messages and not just archive them to "All Mail" on Gmail Web and make them disappear from the iPhone Inbox.  The issue is that on all 3 devices - iPhone 4S, Apple Mail 3.6 AND Gmail, with IMAP enabled I now have 3 "trash folders":  I'm not exactly sure where everything is going depending where it's deleted from, but I ONLY want it to go to TRASH (and not the weird [Gmail]Trash folder nor the newly created "Deleted Messages" option in Gmail Web) - regardless of how it's deleted.
    * How do I get rid of the [Gmail]Trash and Deleted Messages options across all 3 clients (iPhone, Apple Mail and Gmail web) - so that whether I'm running my thumb over the message in my Inbox and choosing "Delete" (iPhone version) / pressing the "Delete" button on my Mac (Apple Mail version) / checking the box next to the message in my inbox and then clicking the Trash icon that comes up (Gmail version) - so that no matter how I'm deleting my mail, all that happens is that it goes into just one Trash area (on all 3 clients) - so that it gets permanently deleted after 30 days....Basically, I don't want messages lingering in a bunch of different trash folders, where some are permanently deleted and some aren't - I just want 1 "centralized" trash area!
Problem #3: In Apple Mail --> Mail --> Preferences --> Mailbox Behaviors: If I want the solutions for problem #1 and problem #2 to work, which boxes should be checked?  I don't really understand why you would or would not put everything on "the server"... nor do I understand what "server" they are talking about.
Problem #4: Since I've started using IMAP on my Mac, my internet connection in general, as well as my Apple Mail, has slowed down quite a bit. Will this go away once I completely rid my computer of the POP files?
Problem #5: Doesn't it seem pretty simple that someone would want all the same things to happen to you whether you're using Gmail web, Apple Mail, or your iPhone? Why don't Google and Apple work together to make this a MUCH simpler process?

I'm sorry, but Apple does not provide a downgrade path for iOS. Because downgrading is unsupported by Apple we cannot discuss it on these forums.

  • Apple Mail 3.2 and GMail IMap

    Hi,
Yes, I know this topic has been discussed on this forum before, but I have not 100% been able to put the pieces together.
I can get Apple Mail 3.2 running Gmail via IMAP with no problem by following the instructions on the google site:
    http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=81379
Then I set my account as directed by Google for recommended account settings:
    http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=78892
I am able to send and receive email. But I see some quirks:
    1. When I send a message, it is not stored in the Apple Mail "Sent" box. It just remains empty. Why?
    2. When I sent my first message the "Store Sent Messages on the Server" became checked even though I unchecked it during account setup. Why?
    3. If I have multiple gmail accounts that I set up in Apple Mail 3.2, will they all be under one Apple Mail 3.2 "Inbox" combined?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hello Hal:
I think you will get a better answer to your question by contacting G-mail. In my case, I use AOL mail in Apple's mail application. AOL catches the vast majority of spam/junk and it is placed in a spam folder. The few that get through seem to be trapped by Apple's mail and placed in the Junk folder.

  • How can I manage my icloud mail account on my iPad since my apple id user is my gmail account?

    Hello,
I'm unable to send and receive mails from my icloud account since when when trying to add this mailbox to my account IOS pops a message that says the my gmail account is already added.
My apple user ID is my gmail account, could this be the problem?
How can I be able to manage my icloud account in my iPad?
    Regards,
    DM

Let's try deleting the iCloud account from your iPad, then adding it back.
If you have any photo stream photos on your iPad, save them to your camera roll by opening your My Photo Stream alburm, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll.  The force close the Mail app by double-tapping the home button, locating Mail in the list at the bottom, tap and hold Mail until it wiggles, tap to close it, then tap the home button agian.
Then to delete the iCloud account go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, choose Delete from My iPad when prompted.  This only deletes the account and your iPad data from your iPad, not from iCloud.  Then go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in and turn on your sync settings, confirming that Mail is set to On.  Your iCloud data will reappear on your iPad after a brief delay as it redownloads.  Open Mail and see if your iCloud account is there now.

  • Apple Mail behaving erratically with Gmail

Several times I've had this problem but this time I can't fix it. Mail told me my Gmail account was offline. I couldn't send or receive email. So I deleted the account and reinstalled it (this worked before, and I noticed it worked for another poster in the forum). Now the account will send mail, but not receive it. Oddly, it sent a test message successfully (I could see it in my In box in Gmail Web Mail) but did not look as if it had--the message remained in my Out box. I have followed the Gmail configuration instructions and made sure the IMAP port and SMTP port are correct; my password is correct; my username is correct; all the settings are correct. I installed the Yosemite update today, and now when I send an email, it doesn't remain in the Out box anymore, but I still can't receive. Help!

Opps, the * was an OCR error from the screen dump I did not notice.
plus.net is my ISP, but I don't use them for mail normally but I suspect once-upon-a-time I may have had a problem connecting with gMail's SMTP server, so set that up.
I'm actually running Mail 3 (I think the latest version for Leopard, incidentally gmail help is only up to v 2).
Rather than delete the other servers I have set it to only use smtp.gmail, but it still hangs on opening a message pane. Oddly even tho I get the beech ball I can still open prefs.
I can't help feeling the problem is with Mail itself (tho why on two machines at once is beyond me) as the normal behaviour is always to open with the Message pane, but it opens without a window; almost as soon as I open the Message pane it updates with gmail and deletes any message I have moved on the web side. So, only partly broken, but broken enough to be useless!
    Cheers, Colin

  • Updated maverick and all my mail archives disappeared on gmail

Please help, I recently updated maverick and all my mail archives disappeared on gmail. I would apprecaite any advice on how to fix it. I have three gmail accounts two for my business and one personal and all three inculde important data.

I saw one other user that had the same issue. Messages were gone in Mail and on Gmail server. If you do not have backup, your data is gone. It's unclear if this is a Mail or Gmail's server at fault.
Let's first check manually to see if your data is still on your Mac.
    Go to your User's Library.
    Scrol to Mail folder
Inside V2 folder look for IMAP-YOUR [email protected]
Look for All Mail.mbox in [Gmail].mbox
Drill down to see if there any actual messages

  • Issues with Mail and SMTP and Gmail Accounts

So this isn't a question....more like a solution that I had to figure out.
We have multiple gmail accounts in our family and after upgrading to OSC Yosemite our gmail accounts wen't haywire.  My wife was sending emails that eventually were sent from my gmail account (mass neighborhood emails at that.....and all replies came to me instead of her).  I spent about 2 hours investigating and put together several different threads that finally fixed out problem.  The root of the issue is that you can share the same Incoming Mail Server for all of your gmail accounts and your mail will go to the accounts that it is supposed to go to, but you have to have individual Outgoing Mail Servers for each of your accounts otherwise all outgoing mail will come from one account only.  I don't know why this happened, it is a pain in the butt, but here's how I fixed it with 3 gmail accounts running through 1 mac.
1st - you need to remove all of your gmail accounts from mail via Internet Accounts in Settings. Just highlight the account and hit the minus sign at the bottom.  You won't lose anything if you have your gmail settings set to default which backs everything up to Google's servers....it will all load back to you mac and it will all be available online at gmail.com
2nd - you need to add back all of your accounts one at a time (and follow all of the following steps for each account before adding another).  Select the plus sign and choose Google (for gmail accounts only).
3rd - Give your gmail account a recognizable name in the "Name" field (if you have multiple Gmail accounts to add, you will want to distinguish between them).
4th - type in your username ([email protected]) and password.  Make sure to add the suffix @gmail.com.
5th - Check the boxes that you want to add to your mac (mail, contacts, calendars, messages, notes).
6th - Click the "Details" button to ensure that you have an adequate description (see # 3 above) if you are going to have multiple gmail accounts to add.
7th - Open the Mail app.
8th - From Mail Preferences/Account Information Tab - make sure that you account is Enabled (check box next to "Enable Account", make sure that you have an adequate description name, email address is correct, Incoming mail server is imap.gmail.com, Username is your normal gmail login username (absent any suffix like .gmail.com), password is your gmail password.
9th - Then, from Preferences click on the Advanced tab and....Uncheck "Automatically detect and maintain account settings".
10th - Then, go back to Account Information Tab and.....from the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) dropdown box, select Edit SMTP List....
11th -  You need to create an individual SMTP Server Account for each gmail account that you plan to add.
12th - To do this click the plus button.  Server Name should always be smtp.gmail.com.  Type in your own Description (I recommend naming it after the gmail account that you plan to attach it to).
13th - TLS Certificate should be "None"
14th - Click the Advanced Tab - From here, uncheck the box for "Automatically detect and maintain account settings".  Then make sure Port is 587 (default is 25 for some ungodly reason).  Check the box for "Use SSL".
15th - Set authentication to "Password".  User name MUST contain a suffice (i.e [email protected]).  Password is your normal gmail password.
    16th - Click OK.
17th - Now your back at Preferences/Account Information - Link your account to the SMTP server that you just created by using the dropdown box next to Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP).
18th - Save all changes and close out of Mail App.
19th - Restart Mail and recheck steps 8-15....for some reason my passwords kept getting erased, but they eventually saved and took.
20th - Add another gmail account by following these steps and then recheck all along the way for passwords, suffixes, everything.  You will want to make sure that your accounts are all properly linked to their respective Outgoing Mail Servers (hence the distinct naming descriptions).
21st - Once you have added multiple accounts send email between them to make sure that they are being sent from and received to the correct accounts.

Wow! Oh my goodness Patrick, thank you so much man. That's a ton of informatiion to take the time to write out step by step and share with strangers.  I really, really am grateful to you.  I've been dealing with this for a month, half the month I kept changing my passwords and kept assuming I was making some mistake.  It used to work fine.  About a week ago I started looking for a solution and couldn't find one that worked.
You have changed that sir!  I'm good to go, stress level will lower when I am on my Mac, and I'm so glad to not have all these messages popping back up that I was done with!
Muchos Gracias Amigo!  Owe you one...

  • Not receiving mail from people with gmail accounts

Has anyone run into a situation where they stopped receiving e-mails from contacts with gmail accounts? I seem to get mail from all other mail providers, just not gmail - sending messages to gmail contacts also doesn't seem to be working. All was fine up until about 2 weeks ago.
    Any ideas?

If IMAP for your GMail is still not working correctly, then setup a new email account under Settings > Mail,.... > Add Account > Microsoft Exchange.
    Then enter the following
    Email: your GMail address
    Domain: Leave blank
    Username: your GMail address
    Password: your GMail password
Description: Up to you what you enter here.
    Click Next
    Server: m.google.com
Click Next and now you can select what services you wish to sync with your iPod.
    Mail: On
    Contacts: Up to you
    Calendars: Up to you.
You should have your GMail account backup and running, on your iPod.

  • Apple Mail not working with Gmail IMAP

This is a slight re-working of a post of 27 March as I am being driven nuts having to use web mail.
I have used Mail with gMail for years. Last week I was abroad and I could only use the web interface as when I logged in from my MacBook via Mail the message pane was fine (and up to date though it did not open by default as usual) but if I opened any message all I got was 'Loading' followed by the spinning beach ball. I tried this for several days and always got the same result and assumed it was an (atypical) result of being abroad.
When I got home I found I had exactly the same problem on my iMac which was fine before I left home and as with my MB I have to force quit to get out of Mail.
I then when out and after a restart (not the first since the problem) that my MB was OK - but only briefly. My iMac is still stuffed as far as Mail is concerned.
Mail itself does not seem completely broken, for instance I can look at Previous recipients, I can send from Mail and it arrives back (but then I can’t open it). I can drag messages to the Bin, but they don’t seem to stay there. Oddly I have sent a lot of mail from the gMail interface today, but none of them show up in Apple Mail, tho earlier days do.
I do have a lot of messages in sent mail, nearly 6,000, and while I can understand it progressively slowing things down I don’t see that it would cause both machines to fail simultaneously and anyway I don’t want to delete them.
Any ideas? There are no error messages, Connection Doctor shows me as logged in, and I have not found anything via a Google search or in their discussions.
    Cheers, Colin

  • Apple Mail 1.3 and gmail issue. PLEASE HELP!

    Hi All,
I just bought a g4 imac for my dad and am trying to set up apple mail for him with his gmail account. I have tried everything and I keep gettin this error no matter if it's set for POP or IMAP.
    Applemail 1.3.11 Panther 10.3.9
    Please help a brother out..
The POP server “pop.gmail.com” is not responding. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the “Incoming Mail Server” field. If it still doesn’t respond, the server might be temporarily unavailable.
If you continue, you may not be able to receive any email.

I have had a lot of trouble with the Apple Mail application and OS 10.3.9 and finally just downloaded Mozilla's Thunderbird mail program and it automatically set itself up to work with my .mac mail account. Maybe that would work for you too.
You can get Thunderbird here, for free.

  • Apple Mail stopped connecting to gmail

    Macbook Pro - OSX 10.9.5 Mavericks - Mail Version 7.3 (1878.6)
I swear, i did nothing. It stopped collecting mail (imap), but i did not notice until i got connection errors trying to send a message (SMTP).
Here is the smtp error message:
The server “smtp.gmail.com” cannot be contacted on the default ports. Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click Try Later to leave the message in your Outbox until it can be sent.
I tried deleting the account from the preferences and recreating it. Same problem. Since it is all automatically configured i did not try different ports. I wouldn't know which to try.
Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click Try Later to leave the message in your Outbox until it can be sent.
Oddly, failure to connect when collecting messages is not throwing up an error. Here is the Connection Doctor details:
