Forwarding Domain from GoDaddy to .Mac

Hello all,
I am having troubles in that I cannot get my new website to appear when forwarded. What appears is the original website. I visited the page of the third website to get the address and that is the one I used to forward with.
I have two addresses that forward properly. Thank you for your help.

Sorry, I realized I didn't provide the information when I sent send.
When I type visit on the page I want to see this is what I get.
Original site: http://bahamalongreach.com/site GoDaddy name www.bahamalongreach.com
Second site: http://bahamalongreach.com/Welcome Godaddy name: friendsofrenacer.com
These two I had before the iWeb update. They work fine when I goggle but when I hit visit I only get the first. I realize the address is wrong and I don't know how to fix or get the right addresses.
I just created: http://bahamalongreach.com/Roberta_Updegraff
Thanks for your help.
So in a nutshell: When I hit visit for any page I get http://bahamalongreach.com/ and the name I gave the site.
My first two sites forward correctly with Godaddy. I cannot see any of my created pages except the ones created in Site (my original website)

I have a godaddy domain and have it pointing to my Web.Me.Com, when I type in my domain in the address bar www.ingleseworldwide.com a login page appears. when i log in i am in my idisk.
Godaddy said the Cname is correct on their side.
    Please advise

I have a godaddy domain and have it pointing to my Web.Me.Com, when I type in my domain in the address bar www.ingleseworldwide.com a login page appears.
That behavior may indicate you have typed in the www.me.com instead of web.me.com . Double-check that.

  • Changing personal domain from enom to .mac--what did I leave out?

Help! I have been reading all of the great advice posted, but am still not having success. I'm sure I probably left something out, but this is what I have done so far:
I am changing my domain name with enom to .mac and have made the following changes: I have changed the www to web.mac.com/mymembername/iweb/mysitename and chose url redirect. I also put web.mac.com for the cname alias, with mydomain.com (no www) in the address portion. Was I suppose to edit the dns server info by adding the numeric equivalent of my personal domain? Also, I have seen opposing opinions on whether or not to change the A address(s).
I have also confirmed that .mac recognizes my domain name. However, when I type in my address, it turns into the web.mac....but an Apple error page shows error code #424 trouble syncing...etc. What does that mean?
By the way, it has been 48 hours since my changes (above.) I would so appreciate some help. Thanks!

I had already tried that one and got this...
below is screen shot of what is on the new mac mini
and what is on the external drive now connected to the new mac mini..
There are no media files on the mac mini just the library files and on external just media files..
Do I need to copy anything over from the old mac mini ? xml files ? .. the itunes folder on old mini is about 840mb in size which looks to have artwork ect ? .. I am fairly computer literate, but this one has me stumped.. ?
    thanks for help

  • Remove Domain from Search indexes

Interesting dilemma, I've created a site through iWeb, bought the domain from godaddy and hosted on mobile me for now at least. I"m using this site to communicate with friends and family about volunteer work I"ll be doing in an unsecure, developing country. In order to bolster security I'd like to find a way to remove my site from the indexes of search engines, at the very least from Google.
    Any ideas?

    Go to: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/
There are instructions here how to restrict google indexing.

  • Forwarding mail from my .Mac accout to Yahoo

    Hi there,
Is there any reason why I can't forward my .mac mail to my yahoo account..?
I've changed preferences in .mac redirecting it to my yahoo account but nothing happens..?
Confusing but I'm trying to get replies from my website to go through my web host, which then forwards the message to my .mac account (webhost doesn't allow direct forwarding to yahoo due to spam issues) then I've set up my.mac account to forward to yahoo.
The mail arrives ok in my .mac but then stops there and duplicate messages are received..?...an error 550 and .. while talking to mx1.biz.mail.yahoo.com.:message appears...
    Nothing arrives in Yahoo account...?
    Any help much appreciated..
    Cheers..

    Hi Mark.
To elaborate on what m.bode said, you can create mailboxes on the server, just like you can create mailboxes locally on your computer, by choosing the associated IMAP or .Mac account instead of “On My Mac” from the Location popup menu in the New Mailbox dialog box. You can then move your messages there. Mail Help has some articles that explain how to do this, e.g.:
    Creating a mailbox
    Organizing your email
Instead of moving all the messages directly in a single operation, however, you may want to try copying them first, to avoid losing them if something goes wrong and the messages cannot be transferred to the server for some reason. You may tell Mail to copy the messages instead of moving them by holding the Option (Alt) key down when you drag them or by doing Message > Copy To instead of Message > Move To.
That said, once an IMAP or .Mac account has at least one custom server-stored mailbox, a globe icon appears in the mailbox list to group the custom mailboxes associated with that account and differentiate them from the “On My Mac” mailboxes. This allows you to easily copy all the local mailboxes and their contents to the server by just dragging them to the globe icon, without having to manually create the mailboxes on the server nor transfer the messages there one mailbox at a time.

    Hello,
Can Exchange 2013 DLP be used to prevent an email from a specific domain from being forwarded?

Looking through the options for DLP and transport rules I don't see a way to perform that function.

  • IMessage wont forward messages from new contacts to my Mac.

iMessage wont forward messages from new contacts to my Mac. New conversations started on my iPhone wont show up automatically on my Mac. What's the deal ?

    Hi,
    Do you mean sync ?
Forward is a specific action that can be done with iMessages on a phone.
Have your tried turning everything Off and then On Again ?
I say this as I updated to Mac OS X 10.8.2 first then iOS 6 on the devices I had.
On each iOS device there was a restart and at this point I was asked on my Mac to allow the Apple ID and iPhone Numbers to be allowed/added to Messages (I have two iPhones so I said no to one)

  • Url bar not displaying correctly on forwarded domain

I found a problem.... on domain forwarded site - the right side of the url does not update correctly...
    the REAL site is:
mysite.com - but we use a 2nd domain - mysite2.com that uses forwarding (w masking) to the 1st - mysite.com (so they are both the same real pages)
(the owner wants it this way)
    NO PROBLEM when I use = mysite.com
mysite.com/dir1/dir2/index.php = ALL GOOD - urls display correctly...
but this problem appears when I use mysite2.com (forwarding)
mysite2.com/dir1/dir2/index.php - does NOT UPDATE CORRECTLY
pages go the the right place - but url stays here (last place typed) - mysite2.com/dir1/dir2/index.php
Q: any way to fix the 2nd forwarded domain with a master bit of code of something?
a href links are simple like    -     update.php (not absolute refs)

Hi Murray - thanks for your help,
1 - the master site is:
    http://deboisproductions.com
it has all the links showing properly as you go to varied pages
2 - this is a domain forward with masking (from godaddy goes to #1 deboisproductions.com)
    http://deboisentertainment.com/
it has all the links NOT showing properly as you go to varied pages - it stays on deboisentertainment.com

  • Retrieve iweb site from godaddy

I had to do a clean install on my mac pro - so could not alter my iweb site which is hosted on godaddy, using fetch I retrieved the all web site files in one folder, but cannot seem to get iweb to run them.
Is there a special place that I should put them?
    Thanks
    Mike

iWeb won't 'run' those pages because iWeb has no import facility so is unable to open html files and a published site, which is effectively what you have downloaded from GoDaddy.
Did you not backup your hard drive before you did a clean install? Did you not back up your domain.sites file to be precise? This is where iWeb stores all its data and is the file that you need to be able to make any alterations to your site. It is located under User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites. Make sure it is your User Library that you look under and not your System Library, as you will not find iWeb there.
If you can't find this file then you are looking at re-building your site from scratch in iWeb.
This is a hard lesson to learn about backing up your domain.sites file, but if you have done this once you won't make the same mistake again.

  • Personal Domain and GoDaddy How To

I saw the threads and think everyone is doing it the hard way. I too am with godaddy but godaddy uses a third party registrar. I don't remember the details on how i found the phone number, but somewhere on godaddy it tells you. Actually I think I just called godaddy and asked for registrar's phone number. Call the registrar and simply ask them to change CName to "web.mac.com". The guy said that he thought this wouldn't work but I said just do it because that's what Apple says to do. So he did and the next day it worked. (as it takes a day to go into effect) Piece of cake!

    See if this helps ...
    Greetings,
Along with the numerous complaints about the reliability of iWeb '08, many of us have also had trouble setting up .Mac to host our " personal domains". Godaddy has always made it easy to redirect sites to .Mac addresses and "mask" those sites. However ... some of the directions for using "unmasked" URL's on .Mac have been a bit confusing. After following many tips found in the Discussion Boards here I too had no success. I wrote GoDaddy and they quickly responded to my e-mail with the following simple reply which required only one change in ONE FIELD after setting up your personal domain with .Mac.
I've copied the steps sent by GoDaddy to find the field below (for those of us who are not so web savvy and have no idea what CNAMES, DNS, or XM RECORDS are or mean).
    1. Log in to your Account Manager.
    2. From the Domain Names menu, select Manage Domains. The Domain Control Center opens.
    3. In your list of domain names, click on the domain name that you want to view. The Details for the selected domain display.
    4. Under the Total DNS Control section, click Manage Subdomains or Total DNS Control and MX Records. (Middle Column under NAME SERVERS)
    5. Click the edit button next to the www CNAME
    6. Follow the on screen directions from here to the change the points to host.
(You'll want to enter in the section for CNAMES ... the first line "WWW" ... Points to "@" ... change the "@" to "web.mac.com")
It took only seconds after making this change for my iWeb site to redirect to my personal domain at .Mac and for all my URL's to read properly.
    Best of luck!

  • Moving Exchange email and web hosting from Godaddy

While I consider myself very well versed in everything PC/Mac, I am finding that setting up a newly installed OSX 10.6 server is a little more difficult than originally imagined to set up.
I am running 10.6 server off an iMac with 4gb ram and plenty of storage space as well as a great upload speed thanks to FiOS. I would like to first move my email from godaddy since their hosted exchange service is rather expenssive for a small business. If someone could provide a relatively easy step by step on setting this up for a group of 5 users, it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

First question - do you have a static IP address on your FiOS link?
If you don't have a static address, but have a dynamic address, then stop right here and don't think about moving on until you have a static address. Seriously.
On the other hand, if you do have a static address then all you need to do is:
    1) create the user accounts on the server
    2) enable mail service on the server (SMTP and at least one of IMAP and POP)
    3) Configure your router to route incoming connections on port 25 to your server (and port 143 and/or 110 if you want IMAP or POP access from outside your network)
    4) change your DNS to add an MX record for your domain that maps to your static IP address
The major issue you'll have is in setting up your user directory - that will require functional local DNS, so take your time with that first and work on each step one at a time.

  • Can't send email from one specific .mac account

I have two .mac accounts on three different machines. My main email account gives me "cant send with server smtp message..." use a different server. I can send just fine with my other .mac acct on the same machine. But I can't send from my main .mac acct on any of the machines or the web client at home or work. I have created a new user from scratch and set up the .mac acct on it and still get the errors. So it doesn't seem to be a problem specific to machine, user, or network. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
iMac intel   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

In your Account setup (via Mail Preferences) you may have to set up an Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) entry. As an example I have a IMAP account and a POP account. The IMAP account has the server smtp.<imap_domain>.com and the POP account has mail.<pop_domain>.net.au. I also have other domain entries which come into play if I am visiting friends or colleagues and need to send or receive mail via their broadband links which have ISP's that differ to mine.

  • Cannot publish from iWeb to .Mac, Help please!

I am trying to publish to my site from here in Australia. I was able to publish in the country at the beggining of the trip, but can not now. I get the message "Publish Error - an error occurred while publishing file /Web/Site/iWeb/Site/Blog". I had updated two blog entries and changed the date on an entry. Since then in trying to fix the issue I deleted both of those entries. I have been through .mac support troubleshooting steps to ensure it is not a network error. I have been able to publish to a folder, but when I try to copy the Blog folder from that folder to my iDisk I get "The Finder cannont complete the operation because some data in "" could not be read or written (Error code -36)". Since then they asked that I try to publish from a trial .Mac account or from a new OS X user account on my machine. Both of those attempts failed as well, which they say indicates it's not a .mac account or OS X user set up issue. They asked that I put a copy of my domain file out in the public drive for them to look at, but when I try to do that it goes through and does the copying and then freezes at "Copying Domain.zip to Public, Copied 599.5MB of 599.5MB (Closing file...) - Please wait". Then I get the same error code -36 and am disconnected from iweb. Can anyone out there help please?
    Thanks!

Thanks and Merry Christmas to you too! I have experienced both modem/network problems and was unable to publish in Tahiti and Cook Islands because of that and now these problems which have nothing to do with network it seems - so yours may or may not be network related. I was able to cheat and copied my "Site" folder from my hard drive to my iDisk rather then publishing. I can't remember if you've tried this or not (read a lot of strings today) but you can publish to a folder and then copy that folder to your iDisk at /Web/Sites/iWeb/Site as "Site" after first renaming the one that is out there now. Let me know if you have any questions on how to do it. It sounds like you are traveling like we are and anxious to communicate with friends and family back home. When you are bored, our site is web.mac.com/baganworldtour.
At least we now have our first update out there in two weeks. But it took almost two hours to copy the folder and this won't work forever. Hopefully we, whether by the discussion room or .mac support next week, will be able to fix the problem for real.
    Thanks. Good Luck. Merry Christmas
