Forwarding to .mac

I have email addresses at a company called Fusemail.com and forward those emails to my mac account. However, as of a few days ago, those forwarded emails have stopped coming. I checked with Fusemail and they're service is working fine. I then tried forwarding to a Gmail account and the emails came through immediately. I can only conclude that the problem lies within the mac account and that, for some reason, they have stopped accepting those forwarded emails. Can anyone please shed some light on this? Thanks.

Sounds like they might be in your spam filter?
Incidentally, Fusemail is great, I'd forward your .mac to them instead of the other way around. It can do a LOT more.

  • Forwarding from Mac mail to iPhone images not displaying

When Forwarding from my iMac mail to my iPhone, the images are not displaying on the iPhone.
If I save the image from the email I wish to forward, in mac mail, then attach it to a new email and send it to the iPhone it displays perfectly!
Any ideas as to why? Maybe another bug?

I tried that. It does not work for me. I get a few books to appear from iTunes into iBooks. Getting them into iBooks on the Mac has never been the problem There are lots of way to do that. The problem is, they STILL not not sync with my iPad. And now they are gone from iTunes so i am not sure what is going to happen the next time I try to sync the iPad with iTunes. Luckily I have a Time Capsule backup so I can restore if I have to.
I guess the bottom line, based on several other threads, is the only solution is to kill iBooks, move it to an obscure corner of your Launch Pad (since you can't totally delete it) and go buy an third party app that will work. Apple has release several updates to Mavericks, and so far there is nothing on the horizon about restoring any of the sync ability that Mavericks took away - iTunes sync wirelessly with the iPad and iPhone, or, like here, iBooks syncing across Apple platforms.

  • Port forwarding for Mac that shares internet to Airport in bridge mode?

I use Air Video server, which allows me to stream movies from my Mac to my iPhone or iPad. It sits on port 45631 and that's closed.
I recently moved from NYC to CO, and because of my cable modem not being compatible with my older Airport router, I must use my Mac Pro to forward my Internet service from one Ethernet port to another - so that my older Airport Extreme can then broadcast wirelessly.
Since I use the AirPort in bridge mode, and the Mac is forwarding the connection - how do I forward the port so Air Video can send through to the internet?
thanks for ANY help, I'm a bit lost here

  • Port Forwarding to Mac Pro with 2 different internet connections

I have my Mac Pro connected to the back of my cable modem. I have given this service the name "Cable" in my network preferences. The details are:
    IP: xxx.xxx.xxx.100
    Subnet: 255.255.248.0
    Router: xxx.xxx.xxx.1
I have the other Ethernet port of my Mac Pro connected to the back of my Airport Extreme which runs ADSL+ from another ISP. I have called this service "ADSL". The details for this connection are:
    IP: xxx.xxx.xxx.188
    Subnet: 255.255.255.0
I run a calibre server on the Mac Pro and on my PC (the PC is directly plugged into the back of the Airport Extreme). I have a Dyndns service that works on the address of the Airport Extreme base station.
I can access the PC's calibre server via the mobile network but NOT the Mac's. Even though I have port forwarding to the Mac's reserved IP address of 188, I can't access the server. I can access it on my iphone/ipad via WIFI but not from the mobile network.
If in my Network preferences I change the order of the services i.e. make the ADSL the top service and cable the second, I CAN access the server from the mobile network. It works as it should. If I change the order so that the Cable service is on top, I can't access the server again.
Why does this happen? Can I fix this? Do I need to set up another Dyndns service on my Mac Pro?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am going to post this as a new post as well because I'm not sure whether the people that were so helpful last time will know that I have updated the post.

Just installed TeamViewer and we're using that. Works great.

  • How to disable text message forwarding on Mac?

I never allowed text message forwarding on my iPhone, yet my mac and iPad still receives messages. How do I fix this problem if I do not want this feature on my mac and iPad?

    Hello Jivaraval,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with SMS relay:
    SMS
With Continuity, all the SMS and MMS text messages you send and receive on your iPhone also appear on your Mac, iPad, and iPod touch. Even if the person you’re communicating with doesn’t have an iPhone. And regardless of what phone they have, you can reply from whichever device is closest to you, including your iPad or Mac. You can also initiate a  conversation by clicking a phone number in Safari, Contacts, or Calendar.
To use Continuity for SMS and MMS on your iPad, iPod touch, and Mac:
Update your iPhone to iOS 8.1 (when available).
Enable iMessage on your Mac and iOS devices.
On your iPhone, go to Settings > Messages and turn on Text Message Forwarding.
Your iPad, iPod touch, or Mac will display a code you can enter on your iPhone to verify the SMS and MMS feature.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.

  • X11 forwarding from mac to windows laptop doesn't work

    Hi,
I ssh into my mac computer from my windows laptop. However, the x11 forwarding is not working (ie, the x window is not forwarded to my laptop). I'm pretty sure this is a problem with the mac and not my laptop, because if I ssh into a unix machine the x window forwarding to my laptop works fine. Does anyone know how to get the x11 forwarding to work?
    thanks

What happens when you try to run them? Do you get any kind of error message? Have you tried just xterm?
Is it possible you have DISPLAY set to something on the Mac side?
Currently I am using putty to connect to the mac via ssh (and have the enable X windows forwarding box checked), and I have Xming running on my laptop to display the x windows. This setup works fine for connecting to unix machines, but it doesn't work for connecting to the mac.
Does the Mac have the firewall turned on?

  • Help:Domain name forwarding to .mac URL

Experts - newbie here - used iweb and built my site. Forwarded my domain name to the .mac URL and everytime I try to access the domain name I get a .mac screen that says my .mac iweb site does not exist. Seemed all rather simple with point and click so now what? Thanks

Most likely you made an error in the url. If you would provide the two urls someone could probably help you fix it, otherwise it's pretty impossible.

  • Godaddy and Forwarding to .Mac

Can someone give me specific directions for forwarding a domain name at godaddy to my newly created iweb site on .mac. I've seen references to masking versus unmasking, I'm a little confused about that.
I've also read previous posts about some problems in redirecting the browser to the .mac site from godaddy have these issues been corrected?
    Thanks for any help,
    John

    John,
I don't use GoDaddy, but I'll try to be as specific as I can.
Log into your GoDaddy account and look for what is typically called your Domain Control Panel. Most registrars refer management of a Domain to this type of panel. Once there, look for the option to forward your Domain, and enter your .Mac url in the forwarding address field. Enabling masked, or stealth forwarding will cloak your .Mac url in the browser, and only your GoDaddy Domain name will appear. Save your changes.
As far as I know from reading the relevant threads on GoDaddy, the forwarding problems were resolved some time ago.

  • Sms forwarding to mac

I tried to set up SMS messages on my mac, when i went to go turn the option on on my iPhone i says that i need to enter a code that appears on my mac, but no code appears.

There's also this from Apple that outlines the requirements:
Get help using Continuity with iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite
Here it indicates that SMS forwarding is supported by any iPhone that can run 8.1 with any Mac that can run Yosemite.  Only Instant Hotspot and Handoff seem to have hardware limitations, and SMS is not touted as being part of "Continuity".
I suspect the SMS problem is a setup problem, or maybe a quirk in installation.

  • Port forwarding TO Mac OS X Server

We just bought a Mac Mini server (10.6), and we're setting it up. Let me admit that I know little about how the server software works, but I have been playing around with it for the past couple of days.
I have Mail, iChat, webpage, wiki, screen sharing, SSH, and file transfer (AFP and FTP) set up. I would like to forward the ports for those services from my FiOS router to my Mac Mini.
Which ports should I forward? Is it possible to just forward EVERY port?

    In reverse order...
Is it possible to just forward EVERY port?
Yes, but you really do not want to do that. It's asking for trouble. Are you sure you want every service on your machine to be publicly available? really? including Open Directory? I doubt it.
    Which ports should I forward?
Each service has its own ports. You need to open/forward the ports appropriate for each service (except FTP which is a PITA and I never recommend running anyway).

  • URL forward to .Mac or FTP to other webhost for best d-name search results?

I'm boggled with ideas and suggestions, but can't see the wood for the trees! I have several .net.au (Australian) domain names in preparation for supporting my new business venture. I'm a .Mac member. At present I have url forwarding available for my domain names and can publish several sites to my .Mac account. I also can take out a webhosting plan with my domain name registration company, costing an extra $60-$80
I want the best hit results for my fledgeling personal business. For example I own sandplay.net.au and want people who type in "sandplay" say on a google search, here in Australia, to go to my website.
Recommendations from some of you iWeb 08 gurus would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you Roddy,
There appears to be a lot to do to publish to .Mac. Will going through the process to publish to .Mac get better hit results than using an Australian webhost?
I forgot to mention that I already have CNamed my initial (very basic) family tree domain website. You can visit at www.anstock.org.
I have starter pages for my busines which are presently frame forwarded and are sites under anstock.org
Since they are linked to anstock.org, web forwarding goes to (say for sandplay.net.au) www.anstock.org/sandplay
Would I be able to keep the Cnamed anstock.org and web forward (without masking) or will that just complicate the suggested procedure. OR would it be simpler to just move to an Aussie webhost for my business sites?
Sorry, I think I've complicated the issue a bit. Told you I was lost. Looking forward to advice.

  • Frame forwarding with mac server

    Hello,
I'm new with using Mac OS Server (version 10.6.7) and I have my own domain name. When someone my domain they are redirected to my ip-address at home. But when that happens the url changes from www.example.com to 11.22.345.345. So I selected "frame forwarding" to prevent this from happening. But now my site is inaccessible. I'm using the standard Mac Server site with the blog, calendar etc. I have little experience using web servers so please help me without making it all to difficult
    Thanks in advance,
    MBKTEL

Given you're obfuscating, I can't be certain, but given the combination of obfuscation and problems, you're probably on a residential service tier and using some form of dynamic DNS.  Public static DNS with public static IP connections generally don't have these issues.
The easiest way to do this is to set up public DNS to translate to your public static IP, port-forwarding at your gateway (and you probably want one of those) and it'll all work.  The public DNS is preferably at your ISP, as (for the security-related services including https and SMTP) your ISP controls reverse DNS translations.  This is the typical server-oriented connection.
Frame forwarding is a form of a reverse proxy scheme for web sites, and you likely don't want that.
Your public DNS should translate to your public static IP address, and not a redirect or frame-forward nor reverse proxy of any sort.
If you're using dynamic IP as I suspect here, then you're probably going to have all the usual issues that arise with network connectivity that result.  Dynamic DNS works for simple stuff and is adequate for client-oriented activities, but it doesn't work particularly well with server-oriented network operations, and server-oriented traffic on residential ISP service tiers can be and variously is blocked by the ISP.

  • Formatting for mail forwarded by Mac mail to Gmail

I normally use Gmail. When certain people who use OSX Mail forward emails to me, the formatting is 'all over the place', especially if a picture is concerned - the picture arrives embedded and full width, even if it was an attachment in the first place. Is there a preference setting somewhere in Mail that ensures attachments stay as attachments and the formatting is retained? Or is it an incompatability between OSX Mail and Gmail?
    Thanks

    "Mac OS X (10.4.1)"
First off, you should update your OS to 10.4.11, Mail and install all the updates pertaining to your computer through Software Update. More than likely you are using an outdated version of Mail.
The last version of Mail for Tiger is v2.1.3.

  • Anyway to have ichat IM's forwarded to .mac mail?

alright my ? is that i use my .mac mail account for ichat and also on the iphone mail. if i am offline on ichat can i have those IM's forwarded to my e-mail so that i still will recieve them? thanks for the help.

Is there anyway I can change the default state of three of the partitions to 'unmounted'?
It's actually pretty easy to do with the fstab-based method I mentioned in my reply in the How? Creating 2 Partitions, 1 Automount & 1 Manual Mount topic in this forum.
I use it to prevent a second partition on my internal HD from mounting at startup, but it should work for externals too. I'm not entirely sure what would happen if you just sleep the MBP, but I think it should work the same way, if I understand what the fstab & diskarbitrationd man pages say.

  • Gmail forwarding to Mac Mail

I just set up my account to have my gmail account in my Mac Mail.
I am new to macs altogether so my question might have an obvious answer. When I read new mail through Mac Mail, it is marked as read. However, when I then log into my gmail account directly online, the same email that had been read on Mac Mail is marked as new on gmail.
Is there a way to have an email be marked as read in gmail if it has been read in Mac Mail, and vice a versa? Similarly, if I delete an email in Mac Mail, is there a way to have the email be deleted from my gmail?

Yes - you need to set your GMail up as IMAP, not POP. Make sure that you have IMAP enabled in your GMail's webmail (the same place where you enabled POP), and then delete and re-create your account as an IMAP version. You'll need to use the GMail server settings - eg "imap.gmail.com" for both incoming and outgoing servers. Check these articles carefully:
