Found a good cursor/icon editor plug-in for Photoshop

I've been trying to edit cursors and icons, and Photoshop doesn't natively support .ico or .cur file formats.  After being disappointed with the available stand-alone cursor editor programs, I began searching for Photoshop plug-ins.
The best plug-in I found is ICO (Windows Icon) file format plugin for Photoshop, from Australia.
I had to research setting the icon "hot spot" in order to have the hot spot at other than the upper left corner of the icon.  This involves resetting the ruler origin.  You need to have the rulers visible, and displaying in pixel units (right click in cursor and select pixel units).
Drag diagonally from the upper left corner of the rulers to where you want the new origin (0,0) to be. photoshop tutorial- Rulers, Measure tool, Guides, & Grids.I
I used this new-found tool in CS5 to make a new Windows aero cursor with a transparent yellow circle around the cursor arrow (in order to be able to easily find the cursor location anywhere on my screen), and the tip of the arrow is the hot spot.

If you have a 64 bit version of windows, there is no more TWAIN in PSE 13, only in the 32-bit version and the mac version.

  • Difficulty scanning slides on my Epson V600  running Lion, Adobe Photoshop CS6,  and can no longer use the Epson scan application or the plug in for Photoshop. Should I revert back to leopard in my time machine to finish scanning my family slides?

I am running Lion 10.7.5, Adobe Photoshop CS6, scanning slides on my Epson V600 and can no longer use the scan application or the plug in for Photoshop. Should I revert back to leopard in my time machine to finish scanning my family slides?
In 10.7 there is not a twain that works with Photoshop for importing with all the options needed to scan transparencies. I noticed that when I was scanning in October 2012 I was still using CS6 so somehow I was managing to be able to use all the scan features.
They sell 2nd party software (VieScan and Silverscript)which I found to be just mimially OK and very hard to use.
I just want to scan like I used to.
Can I use time machine to go back to an earlier operating sysytem LEOPARD,  and then do my scans and then save the photos and them go back to the LION system?
I spent 7 hours trying crazy solutions - downloading Windows CS2 Photoshop and then using a program so I could run it on the apple. Then I couldn't figure out how to put a plug in for the scanner in the stupid windows Photoshop program. Googgling the computer like a mad woman trying to ask questions. I am not giving up...
    Please help if you can...
    Thanks...

I assume you've tried using Image Capture. Give VueScan a try.

  • Microsoft HD Photo Plug-ins for Photoshop are Released

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hd_Photo
"HD Photo has been announced by Microsoft and the Joint Photographic Experts Group to be under consideration for a JPEG standard, tentatively titled JPEG XR.
"The HD Photo bitstream specification claims that "HD Photo offers image quality comparable to JPEG-2000 with computational and memory performance more closely comparable to JPEG", that it "delivers a lossy compressed image of better perceptive quality than JPEG at less than half the file size", and that "lossless compressed images are typically 2.5 times smaller than the original uncompressed data".

"HD Photo plug-ins for Adobe® Photoshop® CS2 and CS3 have been officially released for both Windows and OSX. They're available now from the Microsoft Download Center. [Links on this webpage]
"The Windows version is supported on Windows XP and Windows Vista, and works with Photoshop CS2 and CS3. While not officially supported, it will also work with limited features with older versions of Photoshop and with Photoshop Elements. The included README file has details.
For PSE6, I installed it to
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 6.0\Plug-Ins\HD Photo Plugin for Adobe Photoshop\
It works properly, as far as I can tell, for both Opening and Saving.
File size and processing speed seem consistent with the claims for the format.

Regular JPEG is capable of high definition (size) images.
The "HD" in "HD Photo" is a reference to the fact that the bit depth can
greatly exceed the 8-bit limitation of regular JPEG. That's primarily
of value in high-quality photo editing, and for archiving originals.

DVD player upconversion is no better than the upconversion built-in to
any decent HD TV; i.e., it's mostly just marketing hype.

I can't download the Adobe Edge Reflow. The file's downloading is successfull but the file doesn't go to my Creative Cloud so I can't install the programme. I have already install the Photoshop CC and the Reflow Plug-in for Photoshop.

    Hello
    1. I am running on Windows 8.1
    2. When running the installer file from https://creative.adobe.com/products/download/reflow I get the following choice
I click "OK" which doesn't do anything for me (CC is off).
I turn CC on and run the installer again. I get the following window that within few settings disappears:
Then - just for half a second it says "Launching Creative Cloud desktop" and then it brings CC to front, and that's all.
    RF still not there.
    3. I spoke ta support agent on the Adobe chat on Friday. He looked into my computer for an hour. Uninstalled After Effects (after failing to update it). For some reason all apps disappeared from the list. They then reappeared after he opened PS.
This morning After Effects is still showing up in my system and is operational.
    Weird.
    4. At the end the agent suggested maybe Firewall is the problem here. Trying that out now.

  • Experimental WIC import plug-in for Photoshop

    Hello,
For what it's worth, I've written a small import plug-in for Photoshop, that uses WIC codecs to access the image files and thus is compatible with manufacturer-provided decoders such as the Nikon NEF codec and the Canon CRW/CR2 codec. It should presumably work with the new Nikon NRW codec, supporting the Nikon P6000 camera, when it comes out.
This is an experimental plugin, provided on an "as-is" basis.
    http://www.fastpictureviewer.com/bin/WICAcquirePlugIn-ALPHA.zip
There is no color-management support in this version, if you import, say, an image shot in Adobe RGB, you have to use "Edit->Assign Profile..." after importing to let Photoshop know about the image's profile. The plug-in was tested with CS3 but does not depends on anything except WIC, so it *may* work in other apps able to use Photoshop import plugins.

New cameras need a new plug-in.  Adobe only updates the plug-in for the current version of elements.  Since your Elements is one version out-of-date, your camera may be too new.  Help / Updates in Elements should find the latest version of the plug-in that is still applicable.
If your camera is too new, then you’ll need to purchase an upgrade to PSE 11, or use the newest DNG Converter 7.3 to convert your NEFs to DNGs that will open in an older version of the plug-in.
You can find the various updates on http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates using the dropdown list near the top.

  • Adobe Pixel Bender Plug-In for Photoshop CS5

Can the Adobe Pixel Bender Plug-In for Photoshop CS5 be used in Photoshop CS6?  And, more specifically can it be used with Windows 7 operating system?

  • Is there a plug-in for Photoshop?

I think I have seen some posts here which say there is no plug-in for Photoshop, especially some older postings.  I could have sworn that I have used a Lightroom plug-in for photoshop, but it's been quite a while.
I was wanting to do this tonight, and I cannot seem to find the plug-in.  Instead, in the File Menu, where I think it used to be, it say something about "Upgrade Photo Elements 6 Catalog."  That is, it says this on my Vista PC.  The version on my Windows 7 64 bit laptop doesn't have either this "Upgrade Photo Elements 6 Catalog," nor can I find anything for Photoshop.
Is there, or was there ever, a plug-in for Photoshop?  If there is, how can I get it reinstalled?
    Thanks,
    Richard

I may be using the incorrect terminology here.  I am almost certain that about a year ago, I
was able to export a file out of Lightroom into Photoshop so I could work on it,
and then be able to bring it back into Lightroom.  I don't know if this is a plug-in for Lightroom, or a plug-in for Photoshop.
The more I think of it, the more certain I am that was able to do this.
    Thanks,
    Richard

  • Installing Optional Plug-ins for Photoshop CS5

I have downloaded the Optional Plug-ins for Photoshop CS5 but when I double click on the zxp file I get a message:
"There is no application set to open the document “CS5 Optional Automate Plug-ins.zxp”.
I have tried selecting "choose application" in the same message window and navigating to Applications>Utilities>Adobe Installers but the only option there is greyed out.
I am using Mac OS 10.6.8.
    Any suggestions appreciated!

    »What is an extension package?
An extension package (ZXP/MXP) file is compressed installation file containing the extension(s) to be downloaded and installed by the Adobe Extension Manager. Note ZXP format extension package can only be installed by Adobe Extension Manager CS5 and later.«
Do you have Adobe Extension Manager CS5 installed?

  • Can one develop plug-ins for Photoshop Touch?

I have a few Plug-ins for Photoshop CS, can I develop plug-ins for Photoshop Touch for Tablets?

I would love for there to be a way of using my favorite plug-ins within PS Touch but I imagine that's a little more complicated than using the standard 8BF plug-in standby.

  • Camera raw plug-in for Photoshop CS

Can I download a camera raw plug-in for Photoshop CS (just CS, the really old one) that is compatible with my Rebel T2i? I can find info on which plug-in I need but when I try to find it they are all for newer versions of photoshop.

    Hi,
What operating system are you using photoshop cs on?
Since photoshop cs (photoshop 8) can't be updated past camera raw 2.4, you would need to use the 8.3 dng converter to convert your files to
dng copies that photoshop cs can open.
You also need to ensure you have updated photoshop cs to camera raw 2.4, so you can open dng files in phpotoshop cs.
The following links are for windows versions:
    8.3 dng converter:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5694
    camera raw 2.4
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=2701
If your using photoshop cs on mac os x, then the particular dng converter you would need differs, depending on what version of os x your using.

  • Camera RAW plug-in for Photoshop 8 Doesn't Work

I downloaded Camera RAW plug-in 5.6 following the instructions, for use with a Canon Rebel EOS xTi.  The file downloaded and was pasted in the proper folder ( C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 8\File Formats\ ). And when the RAW file still didn't open I downloaded Camera RAW plug-in 6.2 and pasted in the same folder as above. When I couldn't access the plug-in from Photoshop Elements 8.0, I tried Help-Updates. I still can't access or open RAW files. How can I fix this problem?

Make sure you delete all previous versions of the 8bi file from the File Formats folder before you start.
Make sure you use the correct download link:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4810
Extract files from the download folder then drag or copy the new 8bi file into the File Formats folder.
You can confirm successful installation by opening Full Edit and clicking Help >>About Plug-in >>Camera Raw

  • Twain plug in for Photoshop cc

In former versions of Photoshop I have downloaded a Photoshop plug in, which allowed me to  scan multiple images at the same time in the bed of my epson scanner. I have been unable to find such a plug in using Photoshop CC.  I have a major project in a few weeks where this would be a major time saver.  Can anyone help me.

Can you not scan at all from Photoshop now, or did the plug-in in the past give you some kind of image separation process?
On my Windows 8.1 system I can scan files directly from Photoshop using File - Import - WIA Support.
File - Automate - Crop and Straighten Photos can take a single document with multiple images in it as input and create multiple documents by detecting the photos within.
Is that along the lines of what you need?

  • Lightroom 5 plug-in for photoshop cc

I have lost my plug-in, I think during an update. How do I reinstall this plug-in

There is no “Lightroom Plug-in for PS CC”.  There are LR plug-ins, and PS plug-ins, and a way to do Edit In PS from within LR that uses the PS Adobe Camera Raw plug-in (ACR).  You’ll need to explain a little more what you’re used to doing that doesn’t work, now.

  • Where is the TWAIN plug-in for Photoshop Elements 13?

I just upgraded from PE 12 to PE 13.  Windows 8.1 system.
I did not see an option to import an image using Editor so I looked in the Organizer and found one.  BUT, it only has WIA support for my HP scanner.  And that means limited options when scanning.  With PE12, I had to copy a file from an Optional Plug-ins folder to the Plug-ins folder.  I cannot find an Optional Plug-ins Folder in either Editor or Organizer.  Has support for TWAIN disappeared with PE13?  I do a lot of scanning of my own artwork and the additional options with TWAIN are very useful.
    Thanks for any info.

If you have a 64 bit version of windows, there is no more TWAIN in PSE 13, only in the 32-bit version and the mac version.
