Found a new Amavis-Stats 0.1.19

I have found (through Google search) a new Amavis-Stats version 0.1.19 A2
http://downloads.topicdesk.com/amavis_stats/amavis-stats-0.1.19.tar.gz
I tried to install it but it keeps indicating (after the ./configure) that it could not find "lrrd". I am assuming that means RRDtool Library. RRDtool 1.2.12 is intalled or Amavis-Stats 0.1.18 would not be currently installed.
Any suggestions, recommendations?

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

I feel your pain. The Adobe forum software does some odd "stuff" with formatting, and once that happens, there seems to be nothing to do about it. I have been caught in that "trick bag," more times, than I can count.
As for Encoding to WMV, Adobe programs, are not known to do a good job of this, and that is both PrE and PrPro. For years, many users recommended Windows Media Encoder, which was free from MS, and to use that, one would Export/Share to an intermediate file, then use WME to do the WMV Encode. MS discontinued the old WME, but one user (Neale, IIRC) found a replacement. Unfortunately, I do not recall the name, but it was something like MicroSoft Media Encoder Live, or similar. That user tested the new, replacement utility, and thought that it also did a much better job, than PrE/PrPro.
Still, quality, and especially with motion (either subject, or camera) needs a good Bit-Rate to produce good results, however at the expense of large files. As all Encoders are not created equal, the best that one can do is to find one, that does a good job, and then experiment with the Bit-Rate to get highest quality at a manageable file size. This is the same "balancing act," that we all fight with.
Good luck, and maybe those, with better memories, can come up with the name of the MS WMV Encoder.

Hi have try to make the install of I did the install of amavis-stats - 0.1.18 . When i type in tehe termianl : ./configure
I get the following error :
configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH

I've install devellopers tools but still the same error message
well i didn’t know how to install a compiler on my ox 10,4 server ...

Need help running amavis-stats

After some initial trouble, I managed to get amavis-stats running (thanks Dale).
Right off the bat though I'm getting things like:
No statistics available.
No statistics available.
No statistics available.
Generated by using command-line rrdtool
amavis-stats::error: No viruses/IDs seen.

Images don't load and there's nothing that looks like a RRD file in /usr/local/var/lib/amavis-stats, only 4 "amavis-stats.*" files. Also, /usr/local/var/cache/amavis-stats is empty.
Looks simple. Permissions issue? Those two directories are both owned by www:www.
Everything in amavis-stats.conf looks right. I don't have enough experience with amavis-stats to know how it normally behaves. What else should I be looking for?

This is 10.4.8 Server. amavis-stats is 0.1.22, RRDTool is 1.2.15, amavis is amavisd-new-2.2.0. Stock configuration otherwise.

Now, I'm unsure if I need the PHP bit, but I have GD installed and the latest PHP installed with some other add-ons successfully, and I was a bit concerned with supposed lack of rrdtool support, so I update the configure command as follows:

Is this because I am missing the PHP-rrdtool module? Is the amavis-stats installer attempting to compile and install it for me? Does anyone have any suggestions for what I might try?
It's an Intel box, 10.4.10, php 4.4.7 rebuilt after the 10.4.10 update, RRDTool 1.2.23. Anything else relevant?
P.S. Anyone else think the boards functionality has been really downhill recently? I can't preview posts. It seems to remove any line that begins with a space. The <pre> tag is double spaced... Yech!!!!

amavis-stats is maintained by Dale and he is pretty much the only one knowing all about it.
I know it can be configured to use a PHP embedded RRDtool or the command line RRDTool.

Page has more than 120 items (most of them are hidden), so my first thought is that page has problem with posting so many items, but APEX error message doesn't hel me at all. Any help would be very appreciated :)

actually it is the 100 page item limit. See (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17556_01/doc/user.40/e15517/limits.htm)
I also had a look into the source code and the code at the position where the error gets raised only supports 100 page items.
Can you have a look into the generated HTML code and look if you have a page items which is mapped to p_t101 or a higher number ?
I will file a bug to show a better error message.

If his Gmail account is under the Gmail app and press the app until it wiggles then press the extra deleted. If this account is under the Apple email and then you can go to Settings, mail contacts calendars and then select the account and remove it.

New Provide statement in ECC 6.0

I am getting infotype 0001 information by using function module HR_READ_INFOTYPE.Now i need to check the Employee subgroup (PERSK) change from 11 to 12 .For this i need to use PROVIDE statment and if change happens i need to make a returning parameter false.
How can i use the new provide statement
l_sub is a flag.
*provide fields * from p0001 into l_temp VALID l_sub*
BOUNDS persk AND persk BETWEEN l_begda AND l_endda.
i am not getting any records while running this query.Can you please help me out.What l_temp returns if the loop pass success.In bound what i need to give here i need to check the persk value.

Hi Chandu,
When you are using the bounds statement in a provide field statement,
the two fields on which the bound condition is being applied have to be
different columns of same type of the table from which you are selecting the values..
For eg
PROVIDE fields * from p0001 into itab valid flag1 BOUNDS begda AND endda
BETWEEN pnpbegda AND pnpendda.
What you are using is not giving any values is because it is referring to only
one column of the table p0001.

Has Anyone Found the New Version of the iPod Radio Remote?

Per iLounge, Apple released an updated ipod radio remote that has the most current version of Apple's ipod headphones as opposed to the shortened ones. I've checked on-line, Best Buy, Circuit City Compu World, Micro Center with no luck. I aslo tried the bricks-and-mortar Apple store...they looked at me like I had ten heads. Apparently they have the same sku as the old set.
I posted a question to Apple Support, but no response yet. Has anyone found the new version anywhere?

The new MERGE statement in Oracle 9i

Has anyone used the new Merge statement to process large amounts of data? Currently we use PL/SQL to update/insert into our tables when we are loading large amounts of data (close to one million rows) because we can set commit points and avoid rollback problems. I am wondering if we use Merge instead how this will affect rollback? Are we still going to have to code for this problem?

Thanks for the suggestions. Our problem is that the base table contains 50 million rows and seven indexes, and each month we try to insert/update one million rows. Some of the data in the base table is historical so if we implemented your solution we would lose any records not being updated.
What I am really trying to determine is if the MERGE statement has any redo log ramifications. Will we run in rollback space problems if we implement it instead of running PL/SQL in the following format:

WHERE ...
IF SQL%NOTFOUND THEN
INSERT (col a , col b, col c...)

We commit every 10,000 records (as determined by SQL%ROWCOUNT). This can be time comsuming and Oracle claims that the new MERGE command will avoid costly overhead and reduce data scans. However, I am concerned that we may hit rollback problems if we implement a straight SQL statement such as MERGE. Any thoughts?

Putting in new solid state hard drive

I'm trying to instal a new solid state hard drive into my Pavilion p-6. I ordered the re-installation disks from HP. The new solid state hard drive is smaller than the original drive. When I put in disk#1 the disk promt tells me the new hard drive is smaller than the original and it will not continue the process. HOW CAN I OVER RIDE THIS? And make this work?

Creating new Connections/Statements/ResultSets

Hi,
RDMS = Sybase
JDBC = Jconnect 5.5 obtained from Sybase website
Purpose:
To loop through the program below with different queries and produce
a resultset.
Details:
I have a program that creates a query stores it in a static setter.
The program calls the program below. The program below:
(1) obtains the query from a static getter
(2) creates a connection/statement/resultset
(3) returns to the calling program where
(a) resultset is displayed
(b) calls close() in the program below which closes the
connection/statement/resultset
Problem:
I thought that creating a new connection/statement/resultset
each time the program below is called would work.
The program below returns the correct resultset for the first query
but when called with a different query returns the first resultset that
was generated.
Question:
Do I have to use different objects for the connection/statement/resultset each time the program is called
even though the existing connection/statement/resultset is closed
before a new connection/statement/resultset is created ?
if yes,
I don't how to change the object for connection/statement/resultset
dynamically each time the program below is called.
Any assistance provided would be greatly appreciated !!

Then I'd say you should write a QueryThread object
that extends Thread and takes an SQL statement in its
constructor. In the run method, create a connection,
statement, and result set to run that query, close
them in reverse order when you're done, and provide a
getter to give access to the results. Don't return a
reference to the result set; put the results in a data
structure or CachedRowSet and close out the result set
as soon as you're done with it. ResultSets are
database cursors, which are scarce resources.
With this design, every thread has its own connection
and resources. They can't conflict with each other. -
