Found an article why IOS6 had issue on iPad Via masahable

http://mashable.com/2012/09/19/ios-6-upgrade-problem/
Apple customers around the world got their first taste of iOS 6 on the iPad and iPhone Wednesday — and as with any major upgrade, there were headaches as well as delights in store.
The new OS had its share of teething troubles, most notably a Wi-Fi login bug that Apple quickly and mysteriously resolved. Other users saw ongoing problems with accessing music on their iPhones.
The troubles started with the process of downloading the massive update itself, which clocked in at a hefty 2.5 GB. iOS 6 is an “over the air” upgrade, meaning no connection to iTunes is required. It also meant that millions of early adopters were all trying to grab the file at the same time when it first appeared in Software Update Wednesday morning.
Apple servers seemed to hold up pretty well under the pressure, although users saw wildly different download times depending on their connection, location and time of day — from a few minutes all the way up to 5 hours.
Many found a greater problem was in store when the update installed itself, and froze with an apparently empty progress bar. If they were patient, however, the bar would suddenly show a lot of progress very fast — as much as an hour later.

Then came the Wi-Fi bug many users spotted at once. Attempting to log into Wi-Fi networks their phones and tablets had previously recognized and stored passwords for, users were assaulted with a login page that directed them to a non-working URL at Apple.com.
When confronted with the bug, the company acknowledged that it had existed, but shouldn’t be a problem any more. Sure enough, whatever switch was flipped on the backend worked, and the Wi-Fi bug vanished.
Meanwhile, some users — myself and this Apple support forum included — reported that their Music libraries had suddenly vanished. Playlist, Artist and Album names all remained, but the tracks themselves were unavailable.
A spinning wheel in the upper left corner of the device’s screen indicated that the Music app was trying to access something, but the songs remained stubbornly invisible, even to Siri.
We’ve reached out to Apple to see if this is another day-one bug that can be quickly solved. In the meantime, how was your iOS 6 upgrade experience? Let us know in the comments.
UPDATE: A MacRumors commenter offered a plausible explanation for the Wi-Fi bug — the fact that your device is supposed to ping “http://www.apple.com/library/test/success.html” to test its connection, but that someone at Apple may have temporarily deleted that page.

I understand all of that. When sharing an article via facebook on the ipad I can view the article just fine. When sharing the article through facebook on a desktop computer I can't view the article. It goes straight to the paywall message. I have most of my articles metered and once the user has viewed 3 articles in a given issue they hit the paywall. It seems to be only working on the ipad and not on iMac. Do you know why this would be?

  • Has anyone had issues with Novations Automap & Logic

    Hi
I recently posted in regard to Logic behaving very sluggishly & trying to discover why.
I am not entirely sure, but it seemed to have started after I installed Novations Automap.
I found that the Input/Playback VU meters were freezing for sometime & that creating new tracks in the arrange window or putting an insert on a channel seemed to cause Logic to act very sluggishly.
What pointed me towards Automap was the fact that the Input/Playback meters which invariably seemed to freeze were those that were selected by "Automap" for controlling with the Impulse 49 controller keyboard which I recently purchased.
I have uninstalled Automap & thus far Logic appears to be running far smoother.
Has anybody else had issues with Automap & Logic?

    THanks Mike,
I've had a weather eye on the Novations but this sounds like something they need to address...
They could be GREAT controller keyboards but not till this is sorted

  • TS1538 I have had issues for a week now. Cannot update or purchase from iTunes. Sign in appears then, before I can even input my info it vanishes. App store says I need 24 updates but when I press the icon to do so, it states that my device could not conn

I have restarted device several times. Have unplugged wireless several times. Have done everything Apple has stated to do on their trouble shooting page. Have called Apple seeking advice. Was told for 35 bucks they can help over the phone or choose the free email. I chose the free method and followed what they suggested! Still nothing. I am incensed that they want 700 dollars for this POS and then want 35 bucks for verbal customer service!! I will never purchase another Apple product again if this does not get resolved. I am so disappointed. Then to be told that "for a fee" I can get verbal help. I was told my product warrantee has expired,  I wonder if it expired as soon as I had issues. I am fed up! Looking for window to throw this out of or place it where an automobile is backing up.  I would like the last week of my life back spent trying to fix this hunk a junk!! Oh, they had no problems before taking my money for songs and apps! Why can't they help fix this issue!!

No one here works for Apple. This is a user-to-user technical support forum. Everyone here is a volunteer. You tend to get from this forum what you bring to it. If you come in ranting and raving and saying you're going to throw your iPhone out the window and that Apple is mean, people are not likely to respond to you with sweetness and light and puppies and kittens.
If you really want help, I'd suggest you take a deep breath and then start a new thread in which you explain the problems you're having, the steps you've taken to resolve the problems, any error messages you've gotten. Stick to the facts. Check the attitude and emotion at the door. People will do their best to help you.
    Best of luck.

  • HT1349 Has anyone had issues with the iphone 4s and facebook.

Has anyone had issues with the iphone 4s and facebook. I have downloaded the app and sometimes it will let me log in and then it will log me out and not let me back in. I have deleted and downloaded it several times and nothing is working. HELP!

    @razmee: rather unhelpful.
@tata - we're having the same trouble, and the only solution we've found doesn't fix it.
    1) uninstall
    2) login on PC/MAC and change password
    3) reboot iphone
    4) install facebook app, reboot again
    5) login from iphone.
    No joy.
Safari works, but not for the apps.
Of course, it's Facebook that has to fix this.

  • Has anyone had issues with Administration\Data Import/Export\Data Import???

Has anyone had issues with Administration\Data Import/Export\Data Import???
I have a client who has recently upgraded from V2007 to V8.81. They were succesfuly  using this standard function to import supplier prices to their master price list, but now it has failed?
I have looked at the file they are importing and it appears to be fine.
On closer inspection, it did contain approx 46,000 entries, so I took the first 1,000 and created a test file, which imported fine.
The only issue I found was Speed, with the test file of 1,000 records taking about 30 Mins to import. This appeared to get slower and slower the further through the file it got!
Based on this, I have estimated that the whole file would takle about 13 hours to import. The client say that when they used to run it on version 2007 it was far quicker?
In practice, it does appear to run, but the speed is the issue. Having said this, I set the whole file to run last night (over night)and this morning it had appeared to hang after about 2,307 rows, with nothing else being updated.
Has anyone any ideas or is aware of performance issues like this?
    Thanks,
    Ian

Always an option, but would you give your clients access to this tool?
    Not sure really.
I have uploaded a copy of their database onto my test system and run the same routine. Its equally as SLOW
I can't gauage if its an issue with 8.81 that 2007 didn't have, as I only have the client's word on it, however I have no reason to disbelieve them.
    Kind regards,
    Ian

  • However, we've had issues with other legacy systems and programs for outlook

I have a user who when she logs into her workstation and tries to access her outlook folders she is denied access. If she removes and then adds them back they work. Only one other person on our network had this problem which I initially thought was connectivity
related. I replaced their cat five cable and that seemed to solve their problem. I tried this with this user and it cleared up for about a week but happened again today. Any thoughts or experience with this. Outlook doesnt support archives in a network share
so I cant turn to them. It uses a login batch script to load mapped drives according to department. This all predates me so I did not build them. However, we've had issues with other legacy systems and programs so it is highly possible that this could be an
    issue.

    Will:Hi! Hi!
I use Firefox and it is now No. 1 on my choice of browsers. I agree it doesn't like the "for IE only" coded sites but then IE is now a non issue as it is dead in the water! So Safari is now really bloated and getting slower by the version. Firefox is quick, good to look at with numerous skins, and what is more has become the browser of choice for web developers on both platforms because it sticks to the WWC3 code. Camino is just another flavour of Netscape which seems to be a bloat AOL IE wannabee product. Do yourself a favour and download Firefox. Give it a few spins around the block and I'm sure you will agree. As for the sites it declines to accept because of bad code, then I would suggest a strong letter of protest to the webmaster! For too long IE has been flouting the rules and trying to be the only game in town. Take some affirmative action and let the webmasters know there are other browsers available to users. If you are still not a believer then check this out:

  • Found the reason why my battery life was short

As topic says, I found the reason why my battery life was short.
Having had the Iphone 4 since launch, I've always been impressed by the battery life.
So when it started to go from 100% to 50% overnight, with no use I started wondering what caused this.
I my case it was the wireless network, before I used to have just one wireless router, but recently I bought a accesspoint using it as a signal repeater(booster), giving me 100 % wifi coverage at home.
Since the repeater has the same wireless SSID as the router it seems to confuse the iphone, making it switch between connecting to the router and the accesspoint nonstop and therefore draining the battery.
Disconnected the accesspoit and now things are back to normal.

If you have just one wireless router you can't turn the accesspoint off, you could try turning wifi off on the phone and see if that helps.
In my case the wifi range of the router and the accesspoint overlapped each other, making the iphone constantly switch between them.

Since the Mountain Lion OS update today I've had issues with internet connection and e-mail, has anyone else?

That's what I would have thought, but even after saving the setting, as soon as I shut down my computer or log out of Mail, it automatically defaults back to 25. It's a bit frustrating.
Now I just need to figure out how to get rid of those horrible pop-up banners but still have my glass sound and number of emails in the red dot when I get an email...
These little tweaks are the only thing I HATE about upgrading my OS.

  • Images I move from one folder into another are disappearing, at first it was occurring immediately if I did not copy and paste the images. Today however I found out that images I had been using for days just up and vanished from their new location.

Images I move from one folder into another are disappearing, at first it was occurring immediately and only if I did not copy and paste the images. Today however I found out that images I had been using for days just up and vanished from their new location. A few of these images had copies in another folder that remained and the ones I couldn't find may or may not have ever had copies. I had backed up my system with time machine recently as well, so I went into the backup to retreive the lost images. When I searched and found the backup copies I got the error "the file alias cannot be opened because the original cannot be located". The crazy thing is that the images that remained on my computer did not give me the same error and opened like they should.
In short images that I am creating, saving, and using are disapearing so epically that even time machine versions are affected when retrieval is attempted. Any suggestions as to what I could be doing wrong without realizing it? Or perhaps other people have had similar bugs that are software related and have a solution?

    Hi Kevin,
I understand what you tried to do but it doesn't work that way. Swapping drive names will just mess things up.
You should be able to reconnect the files though: in the Locate Referenced Files dialog make sure you click the Show Reconnect Options button — this will give you access to all the connected drives. Locate one of the files and hit Reconnect All. Should do the trick.

Has anyone had issues with failure of the music player to launch after updating to OS5? My Gen 3 will no longer play music!

    I think a few have.
    Try the standard fixes:
    - Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

Since this first message, the "Other" space has increased exponentially.  The first time, after the "restore", it increased to over 9 GB.  Later, I tried a minor restore again, and now it's over 10 GB.  I've seen someone suggest that text messages are to blame.  If my text messages are suddenly taking up 4 GB of space, I think we've got bigger problems.
