  • My ipod touch second generation is not downlod any app

i have a problem with my ipod touch 2generation.It is not downloding any app, and is in a very old version and cant update.

To more easily find compatible apps:
iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

  • The head phone jack on my brand new iPod touch 5th generation is not working properly

The head phone jack on my brand new iPod touch 5th generation is not working properly. It has sound without the headphones in but when I plug them in it has no sound, it's low, or poppy. I had only used my apple supplied headphones once before and it worked fine. I know it's not the headphones because I tried them on my girlfriends phone and they worked fine.

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

  • The backlight on my ipod touch 3rd generation will not come on, but everything works perfectly. I even used the advice given on the tech support page, and it still will not come on. HELP ME PLEASE.

The backlight on my ipod touch 3rd generation will not come on, but everything else is working fine I even took the tech support advice by plugging it in and resetting it, but that didn't fix the issue either. I need help.

    If not this:
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem.
    Also heating sometimes works. See:
Why can't I select my wifi settings?
A trick that works frequently with iPhones:
Settings > AirPlane Mode ON, Do Not Disturb ON
Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
    Power up
Settings > AirPlane Mode OFF, Do Not Disturb OFF
If not successful, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is usually in order.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
    Then:
Does the iOS device connect to other networks? See other networks? If yes that tends to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • IPod Touch Second Generation Can't, no.. Wont, Charge (the poor thing is trying)

    Hello friendly Apple Experts,
I recently had an unfortunate incident when my iPod touch third generation went for a swim. While we waited for it to recover I dug my old iPod touch second generation out of storage (when it was put it into storage it had been completely restored)
Initially it took several hours to even begin charging. It would go from Charging Logo --> Apple Logo (loading screen) --> Black Screen, and start over again. Eventually it was juiced up enough to get to the home screen. After this it reverted to it's normal three hours, or so, of charge time. At first it was running like it did when it was first bought, the battery life was still exceptional. So I synced it to iTunes and loaded it right up.
However, a few days later we dug the other iPod out of the rice and it seemed to be working just fine. So I began to use both, one for travel, the other for at home. Unfortunately the second generation one was put aside for about four weeks and the battery completely drained. Since I had initially rebooted the iPod it had not been completely drained again. At this point, it has been plugged in for several days and goes in a continuous loop of: Charge Logo --> Apple Logo --> Black Screen and then back again. And on yet another sad note, the battery life for the third generation one has been affected very negatively by its little dip.
To be honest I never wanted the third generation one to begin with, the only reason I bought it was because the second generation’s software became completely obsolete.
    Anyway, my questions are...
What has happened to my beloved Second Generation iPod touch?
Is there any way to fix it?
    and...
Is there anything I can do to prolong the life of the Third Generation device?
    Thanks so much,
    A friendly Apple consumer.

    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Ipod touch 4th generation will not restore

My ipod touch 4th generation will not restore. It begain with a random problem with the device. I tried to open a application but the application would blink a few times then would not open. This was so for ALL of the applications. I then powered of my device to try and reboot it. The Apple logo will apear for about 5 seconds but then the sreen will go black and the Apple logo will apear again. I tried to reboot several times and it did not work. I then connected my device to my computer but it would not appear in Itunes. The only way for the device to appear was for me to put it into DFU mode by holding down the home and power button for 10 seconds. My Itouch would have the connect to Itunes on it. It was then reconized by Itunes. Itunes message appeared telling me that i need to restore my Ipod. I tried restoring the Ipod, but after the update downloaded a error would appear while it was going through the restoration proccess.

ok i will my friend has my ipod right now but If it doesn't still work ill get the error number tomorrow.

  • IPod touch second generation 4.2

I have the old and outdated iPod touch second generation with the 4.2 on it and I currently only have the apps that come with it when it's at it's factory setting, and I would like to know how I can get apps that are supported for this operating system without going through the app store and clicking on every app until I find one that will work. Now I do know that's it's considered old but surely there is some way to get apps on this device. I mainly got this to put music, videos, and pictures on and I can do that through iTunes. However, I would like to maybe put Facebook, craigslist, free texting, and possibly a few game apps on my iPod simply because I hate bouncing back and fourth on my phone from text messaging to my Facebook or games or whatever else I may be doing.. Thanks for reading and hopefully I'll get some responses that will be able to help me out

No dice. There are not that many god apps that currently available for the 2G iPod. There is also no way to search only for compatible apps.
FB and a lot of other good apps require iOS 4.3 or greater.
Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

my ipod touch 3rd generation will not load the start-up screen but follows a cycle, connecting to the USB port of a computer the ipod shows Battery Low
Indication; after about 3 minutes of charging the Apple logo appears and remains for approximately 3-5 minutes before the ipod turns off, and this cycles with
