Found New Hardware Error with iTunes and Motorola L7 SLVR

Hi,
I reinstalled iTunes because when I connected my phone via USB I would get an error in Found New Hardware Wizard: There was a problem installing this hardware. Motorola Motorola Phone USB Device. After reinstall, I opened iTunes and no error until it asked me to 'convert my phone for use with iTunes'. Once I said yes, it did something to the phone and then the error re-occurred. I am using the latest version of iTunes.

None of the steps outlined in the referenced document resolved the problem. In addition, simply connecting the iPod to the system now has the added effect of freezing my wireless connectivity. I can still get iPod connectivity to the system, but I'm offline until I reboot again (w/o the iPod connected).
When I try the second set of steps recommended in the attached note ("Disable conflicting System Services and Startup Items"), and had only the iPod selected, the system would not allow a complete boot up at all (kept sending me back to edit the System Services screen). It would then not allow me to restore the system to the selections that were previously on the computer. A mess!!
I ended up doing a complete system restore (back to a prior system configuration) and that corrected the problem. But, of course, I continue to get the error when booting up that "new hardware found".
Any other ideas?

  • "Found New Hardware" Error

I installed the iPod on my PC and everything seems to work fine, but now everytime I turn on the system, I get a "found new hardware" error (even when the iPod is not connected). I uninstalled iTunes and then reinstalled everything again, but the problem has not gone away. Any suggestions?

  • Found New Hardware error when installing 2.0 upgrade?

I have been trying to upgrade from 1.1.4 (with software upgrade) to the 2.0 version. When I do this, everything is fine until it tries to prepare my iPod for the upgrade. Each time, my iPod will appear to reset, but it goes to a black screen, and then Windows begins to detect two USB devices (unknown) and can't find any software for them. So, the upgrade fails, it makes the iPod unusable (stays at the original recovery mode screen), and I can't recover unless I restore to version 1.1.4. Then, my old apps do not come back - it gives me an error (-4) when trying to sync the January software upgrade. I have tried multiple USB ports, and different user accounts. No luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Firstly, try reinstalling iTunes, if that fails, you can try completely resetting your iPod.
    This will reset every setting and remove everything - all music, videos photos - from the iPod. It may not fix it, worth a try though. You get the Jan upgrade apps in the 2.0 so don't worry. To do this;
Settings>General>About>Reset. I think it's that, iPod is sycing at the moment, so can't double check.
It takes ages and you'll have to re-sync it all, but might resolve your issue. It might however be Windows playing up.
    Hope this helps.

  • Synching new email address with itunes and iphone.

I had a change in email addresses. I changed it on itunes website. But when I try to access it from my iphone, it still has the old email address and won't let me sign in stating wrong user or password. How do I change it on the iPhone? I have done the sync and that doesn't do it.
    Thanks

Click the iTunes icon on your iPhone, select music and scroll to the bottom of the screen where you will see the name of your account. Click it and then sign out and the box will change to sign-in. Click it and choose "existing account" and then enter your user name and password.

  • ITunes 6.0.1: "Found New Hardware: iPodService"

I posted this yesterday in the "Upgrading, etc." forum, but have not received any responses or help; I thought it might be more visible in this forum. Since I posted, I did find a few posts that I thought would help, and I tried the suggestions, with no success. The problem still occurs:
I downloaded and installed iTunes 6.0.1, and despite my fears -- after reading other posts -- that I would have problems with the new iTunes, so far it has worked fine, even though I did install it over the old version.
But after I installed it, I shut down my computer and went back to it later; and when I started it up again, I got a message in the taskbar: "Found New Hardware: iPodService". (I'm using Windows XP.) Then it went to Install New Hardware. [I get the error EVERY TIME I boot up.]
It asks me if I want to install from a disk, but of course since I downloaded the program, I don't have a disk. I tried using the CD-ROM I got with my iPod, but it couldn't find what it needed there. And not only that, I didn't install any new hardware, only software!
I have searched the Apple Discussions for help, with no results; it seems like nobody else has had this problem.
What do I do to fix this, ignore it, or keep it from happening again? I did search a little online, and I found out that the iPodservice.exe program isn't essential, so I could simply go to Task Manager and end the process, but I want to be sure about it first.
Any help with this is appreciated.

    DEZ3124,
I want to change the default location of the music libary, so I went through the edit | preferences | consolidate library processes...which seemed to work fine.
This method will change the location of the iTunes Music folder but the the iTunes folder itself will be left behind in its original place: C:\Documents and Settings\user name\My Documents\My Music. This makes iTunes (and by extension will also make you) much happier and in this case you'll be well-advised to let it have its way.
Note that all the actual music files you now have, as well as those you will add in the future(which take up the bulk of the space on your hard drive), will be in the new location. The iTunes folder will be left behind with the iTunes Library files which don't take up much space at all ... if that's a concern.

  • My ipod touch 2nd generation is stuck at recovery mode when I tried to update from a 3 software to a 4 software. I tried puting it in DFU mode to fix it but a window pops up about  the computer found new hardware and needs a cdrom. What do I do?

My Ipod is stuck at restore mode, when I downloaded fixrecovery and zlib1, they gave me a file which I can't open iBSS.n72ap. Fixrecovery wanted me to put it in DFU mode and I did but a window from my computer pops up telling me that it found new hardware and wants a CDrom to install. The ipod did not come with a CDrom software. It wont go back, and iTunes does not recongnize it. What should I do?

    Try here.

    Yup,
Me too...this is stupid, stupid, stupid. Just purchased my 200 (ish) mac and now I am told that my new Mac Book pro is not "authorized".
Which if my 200 macs are authorized. Can someone please tell me???
I "deauthorized" my old MBP and still told I cannot use my iPhone with iTunes.
Interesting that my old $2500 MBP, my new $3000 MBP and my $500 iPhone all cannot work cuz of some pinhead's decision to use this assorization process.
Yes I am very, very, very mad.

  • I wiped my ipod classic and then my computer crashed, so i no longer have the songs i purchsed from itunes on my ipod or computer! I have a new computer now with itunes installed, can I get the songs purchased previously from itunes somehow?

I wiped my ipod classic and then my computer crashed, so i no longer have the songs i purchsed from itunes on my ipod or computer! I have a new computer now with itunes installed, can I get the songs purchased previously from itunes somehow?

    Yes, you can!(:
    STEP 1: Open iTunes
STEP 2: Navigate to the "iTunes Store". It can be found under the "STORE" tab.
STEP 3: On the right side of the store there should be a "Quick Links" Section. Click on the "Purchased" link.
STEP 4: Navigate to the "Music" tab and click on "All Songs". Then at the bottom of the screen there will be a button that says "Download All". Click the button and your songs will be begin downloading!
NOTE: This will only work with songs that you bought from the iTunes store, if you imported them from a CD, you will have to do it again.
NOTE: You can also do this with Apps, Movies, TV Shows, and Books.
NOTE: You may have to sign in with your Apple ID to verify the download.
Hope this helped! Enjoy your music!(:

You've managed to permanently damage the phone. As gdgmacguy suggests, buy a new one. Preferably from a legitimate source.
You may also want to keep in mind that it is illegal to use the Gevey SIM in pretty much every country on the planet. It may still be legal on the continent of antarctica, but that's only because penguins don't use cell phones as a rule.

I continue to get r6025 runtime error with iTunes version 10.6.3.25.  Have uninstalled and reinstalled twice.  Happens when I search in iTunes Store.  Ideas to fix?

    Hi,
got it fixed! My Son had both files on his Win7 iTunes installation. Never mind he had no issues whith ths iTunes and iPhone Sync. So I checked my other Win XP PC, where I don't have this problem syncing my ipad, and surprise. Both files do NOT show up on this PC. So I renamed the iTunesPhotoProcessor.exe I found under c:\program file\iTunes and synced again my iPhone and it went through without any error. So the problem might be and unremoved iTunesPhotoProcessor.exe or the missing iTunesPhotoProcessor.dll under the iTunes install root folder and this even if I had checked that the folder was completely removed during iTunes unistall.
Please try yourselve and just rename the iTunesPhotoProcessor.exe to iTunesPhotoProcessor.exe_ under c:\program file\iTunes or get a copy of the missing iTunesPhotoProcessor.dll and cp to c:\program file\iTunes.

  • Disable "Found New Hardware" and Stop it automatically installing.

    Hello All.
Ok the Issue I have is below and can't seem to find the correct answer I need.
    I have two dell WYSE
boxes running Windows XP. I have one with an SSD to do all my configurations on and one is a 4GB flash box for steaming on to using WYSE WSM.
I have created a locked down version of XP with all sorts of registry hacks and Group policy to stop the end user accessing
system files and control panel etc..
I have it the way I want it but when I stream to the Flash Box, it picks up it has a 4GB SATA drive in it and installs it
and creates itself a drive letter E:\ and puts an icon in My Computer. This going
completely against what I wanted, I don't want the end user to have local drives. ONLY pendrives.
    What I have done:
I have used group policy to restrict the view and access of A: B: C: & D: drives so it still allows me to use pen drives.
I have disabled some services to stop searing for new hardware on start up which hasnt worked.
There has been posts of going into device manager and disabling the hardware in there, but I cant do that on the FLASH box
as its already streaming and its locked down so cant the configs have to be made on the SSD box which doesn't have the 4GB flash drive in.
    Any ideas?
I hope there is enough information on here for an answer.
Lets pull our brain power together and get an answer.
As per other posts and infinite Google searches, I know that many other people has a similar issue.

Since you can't delete Apple IDs and having multiple Apple IDs can cause confusion, what you may want to do is rename your existing Apple ID to the new email (desired Apple ID).  That would in effect do what you want, get rid of the old and give you the new.

Because you can only synce with one iTunes library and you are switching libries by using the new computer. To nake this yyour syncing computer:
    - Move all the media(apps, music, synced video and photos etc) to the new computer.
    - Connect the iPofd yo the computer and bake a backup fo the iPod by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
    - Restore the iPod from that backup.
Note that the backup that iTunes makes doe not include media.
To move mdia to the new computer see:
iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
