  • Configuration Error in EPM 11.1.2 in Performance management Architect

    Hi All,
I Installed 11.1.2 in my laptop but database configuration in Performance Architect Database got failed.
When i select Configure database for the Performance management architect i am getting a popup window which says _"The Oracle Data Access Client is not Installed"_.
I clicked on ok on the popup window and clicked on next and after that i am getting Configuring database is getting failed in the configuration window.
Let me know if anyone got this type of issue and let me know how you resolved this issue.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Siva..

It is important to install the Full database client as part of the installation, because the PATH variable is updated to include the path to the bin folder of the Oracle client.
Make sure ODP.net (Oracle data provider) and ASP.net component of Oracle client are installed on your system. when you do Oracle cleint install, these components are not installed by default and this could lead to configuration failure.
You need to do custom installation of Oracle client and select these components to make sure they are on your system.
    Cheers,
    Jasmine.

  • Performance Management Architect doesn't display applications

    Hi,
I am reading through the Performance Management Architect Administrators Guide (System 11 release) from Oracle trying to figure out how to work with Hyperion Planning and Essbase. First of all, is the Architect just a fancy name for certain functions in Workspace? Because the documentation describes accesssing Archictect through the Workspace Navigate options. Second, the Application Library is defined in the documentation as "A summary of applications that have been created and/or deployed to Financial Management, Planning, Profitability and Cost Management, Essbase Aggregate Storage Option (ASO), or Essbase Block Storage Option (BSO)." It also says I can create Planning applications here as well.
I follow the directions to access the Application Library - When in Workspace, I go to Navigate > Administer > Application Library, a new tab comes up, but there is nothing in the tab. It is completely blank. I have created several Planning applications, including initializing the Sample Application that comes with the Planning installation. I can view this application from Workspace or the Planning Web-app. Does anyone know why it is not showing up in the Application Library? If I want to build my own outline and define dimensions and members to create a planning applicaiton that works with my own sample data, where do I go to do this?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
The planning applications that you have created maybe classic planning applications so you won't see them in the EPMA application library. There are two methods of managing planning applications either the classic method or through EPMA.
You can create a new planning application through EPMA or you can upgrade one of your classic applications to an EPMA version.
    Cheers

Hi John, From the output you shared it looks like you using Performance Advisor and want to share a graph of a 7-mode system.  The instructions link you shared is from Performance Manager which is for Clustered Data ONTAP only.  In the Performance Advisor there is unfortunately no way to share a link.  You can 'save as' to png as you probably already saw, or you can use the dfm CLI to generate the same and email, perhaps as a daily report.  There is also a data collector that will post to the NetApp ToolChest that submits data to Graphite with dashboards in Grafana.  This solution would allow sharing of a URL like you desire.  If you want more info on this let me know. Kind Regards,Chris MaddenStorage Architect, NetApp

  • Foundation services in Hyp pre-9 versions?????????

which foundation services existed in the pre9 version of the hyperion system..
    Hyperion Performance Suite 8.5, 8.3
where can i find the documentation of the shared sevices for Hyperion Performance Suite 8.5, 8.3??????????

The only thing that came close to what is now called Foundation Services was the little used "Hyperion Hub" in Planning 4. Was it even there for HFM? Dunno on that one. From the Planning side, it allowed limited sharing of dimensions across applications but its usage was really low because it was a first release of the functionality.
I'm not sure what Hyperion Performance Suite 8.5, 8.3 is -- some version of Interactive or Production reporting?
In any case, one of the biggest features of System 9 was Shared Services.
Prior to 9, all products managed their own security. It was a nightmare.

  • FOUNDATION SERVICES NOT STARTING

    Hi All,
    V11.1.2 - On windows Server 2008 R2
Earlier today something weird happened when I tried to save an outline. End result I could not log into EAS - kept getting "login error" type message. Essbase itself was fine, I could still log in using the Excel Add-in etc so doesn't appear to be a corrupted security.sec file?
    - So I tried to stop/start the EAS server - didn't work.
    - Then tried stopping ALL the hyperion services (in order) and restart. Everything stopped ok, but on start up, foundation services wouldn't start up.
    - Rebooted the actual physical server, and same thing.
Nothing seems to be corrupted etc.... but I can't tell as I can't start it up.
Anyone have any insights etc in how to possibly fix? Or a good next step?
    Thanks
    Paul

    Hi I found this..
Resolving a Shared Services Startup on the Application ServerIf the Shared Services Web application does not start:
1.Review the Shared Services logs in MIDDLEWARE_HOME/user_projects/domains/EPMSystem/servers/FoundationServices0/logs.
2.From EPM System Diagnostics, validate that database connectivity succeeds, and check external user directories. These are prerequisites for Web application startup. For instructions on using Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Diagnostics, see Chapter 13, “Validating the Installation and Verifying Deployment,” in the Oracle Enterprise Performance Management System Installation and Configuration Guide.
3.Determine whether the default port 28080 is being used by another application by running NETSTAT –an | findstr 0.0.0.0:28080. If you get (0.0.0.0:28080), change the Shared Services port or stop the process that is using the port.
    Note:
If you upgraded from an earlier release, the Shared Services port is 58080.

  • Foundation Services install file1 64bit zip file invalid

    Hi forum,
I have downloaded the zip files for the Hyperion Foundation Services for installing 11.1.2.2. (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/epm/downloads/epm-1112x-1584981.html - Window 64bit version) however, when unzipping the File1 (Foundation-11122-amd64-Part1.zip), I get an invalid file error. I have managed to open the file and extract the information from is, but I believe it is still corrupt as I am unable to launch the install tool (the command prompt opens for a fraction of a second and closes again).
Can anyone help with this? Does anyone have an uncorrupted version of the file? Any advice please?
    Many thanks!
    Running Windows Server 2008 R2, 64bit.

    Alright Mr Shanahan,
Try downloading the files from Oracle Software Delivery - https://edelivery.oracle.com/
They are under Oracle Enterprise Performance Management System.

However, I want *others* to be able to see that graph, too - not necessarily admins (ie, management types). I don't want them to have to log into the app to see it, either. In some docs I've seen an option called "copy link to page", which seems like EXACTLY what I'd like to do - copy the link to the page I'm looking at, and then send that link to the others that I want to be able to see it.  (see https://library.netapp.com/ecmdocs/ECMP1552961/html/GUID-E000CFC4-C568-4181-AAB5-790BF331FD6C.html). However, that option does not show up under my "Actions" pulldown, like the link above says it should. Does anyone know where to find this option, and/or how to acomplish the same thing ? I was thinking there must be a "standard" url that points to these types of graphs, but can't find any reference to that, though.     Thanks,      John

  • EPM 11.1.2: Foundation Services config fails on Windows 2008 SP1 server.

    Hi,
I installed EPM 11.1.2 on Windows 2008 SP1, 32-bit. The installation succeeded (no errors in logs). However, when I run EPM Configurator to configure Foundation Services, it fails.
    Environment:
    EPM Server: Windows 2008 SP1 32-bit
RDBMS: Oracle Enterprise Edition 10.2.0.4 (running on remote AIX 5.3 TL 8 server)
Oracle Client: 10.2.0.4 (full client install)
The configtool.log (see below) indicates that the program cannot find the reg.properties file. I checked the server and this file does not exist. The log file also reports non-existing classpath entries (not sure if this is related). The registry.log file (see below) reports a jdbc driver error: java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00917: missing comma.
I submitted a service request with Oracle Support, but the support engineer said that installation and configuration errors are outside the scope of technical support.
Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

Yes. I downloaded and extracted the additional components. I have also dropped and recreated the HSS repository. Each time I have tried to reinstall, I have uninstalled all EPM/Oracle components, removed registry keys, removed EPM environment variables and removed references to oracle in the PATH environment variable.
I have tried installing/configuring HSS 11.1.2 on both Windows 2008 SP1 64-bit and Windows 2008 SP1 32-bit. The configuration error is the same.
I was able to get my SR reassigned to a different support analyst, and we are working on troubleshooting now.
If you can think of anything else to try, let me know.
BTW...on the 32-bit server, the page file maximum is 16GB (should be enough)?
    Thanks.

  • Replacimg performance Manager with SSM(SAP Strategy management)

    Hi,
Can any body tell me  how to migrate all the scorecards, KPIs  based on Performance Manager to SAP Strategy Management. Is there is a tool for that in SSM if not should those be rebuilt in SSM from the scratch.
how do we replicate everything fromPM to  SSM
From the developer perspective what will their tasks.
    Edited by: chrisbaker1999 on Jun 16, 2011 1:01 PM

    Chris,
What the External Data Loader does is to allow you to transfer your scorecard structure from Performance Manager to Strategy Management. What you are importing is the structure of Contexts, Perspectives, Objectives and KPI aspects. It allows you to put all of these in the loader, verify the structure in the loader, and then using Transport to bring into SSM.
There are additional definitions and settings that SSM requires that will have to be added after you Transport the loader's data.
You will still have to build PAS models separately, because the External Data Loader does not build models.
The Transporter tool in SSM allows you to export (and then import) your scorecard metadata from DEV to PROD. Moving between systems is a two-step process, and Transporter is step one. PAS is separate (step two) and you make a dump of the model in your DEV system, take that dump file from the Home directory in DEV and move it to the Home directory in PROD. In the PROD system you create a new PAS model frame and then load that dump into the new framework.
Each SAP customer has a super-administrator that can add users to the SAP Service Marketplace. Find out who your super-admin is and get yourself added to allow you access to those areas on Service Marketplace.
    Regards,
    Bob

  • More than one service Performer per sales order position

    Hallo ByD community
We are using service type "Service - time and material" in our sales orders and we are using the integrated time recording in the self-service (time sheet) to track actual times for an sales order. For that you have to assign a service performer in the sales order position, so that the person is able to enter acutal times for this sales order Now it can happen that not only one person, but a team (or two or more people) has to record times for this sales order position.
is that possible and if not what would you suggest.
F.e.. in project management you can activate time recording for a project task for several people.
    Thank you :-)
    BR

    Hi  lisa ,
It is not possible to enter more than one service performer for a service in sales order .
But you can  perform the service with two people and have two service confirmations.
The time entered in service confirmation will be reflected in invoice only(if time and material).
Also you cannot enter the time sheet with respect to sales order , it is only valid for project task and
    and time types.
    Regards,
    Harish
