Four black lines have appeared behind cursor arrow

While jsut about click on a bookmark 4 10mm high black lines appeared behind the cursor arrow and at the same time the computer crashed- went black with a message in 4 languages informing me to hold down power button.
I turned it off and then back on and it started fine but the 4 little lines are still there..everywhere the cursor arrow goes! I turned it off again, popped battery out (as you do...) put it back in, started it up again and guess what? Well given I'm sitting here typing this message... yep they are still there!
Is there a way to remove them or am I destined to have to grow used to them forever?
As said they are 10mm high, 2/3mm apart and start with the left hand line directly behind the arrow. Very annoying little buggers too.
Any help would be great!
Alex

I have just been to system preferences- universal access- mouse and trackpad- cursor size. As I increase the size of the arrow the lines get bigger too until about 3/4 then they disappear - but leaving me with an arrow that is 4 feet tall....

  • I have small black lines that appeared after I exported from word to PDF. I can't remove them.

I can't edit/delete the black lines with content editing or form editing (they are not selectable, just like a line that was created in word prior to export), and when I tried to write a white line over it with a comment mark up, it does not show when opened with adobe.
Further, redaction with a white box erased nearby text or text boxes.
How can I white out/remove these small lines?
I'm using Yosemite OS X with a macbook pro, acrobat XI.
    Thanks!

    Hi ,
Could you please tell is that some specific file in which those black lines have appeared or are there any other files as well ?
You can try exporting another test file to PDF and compare the results .
Will it be possible for you to share the file with us so that we can analyze at our end ?If yes ,please share it on [email protected] .
You could also send us the screen shot of the files ( both after and before export) so that we can have a look how it looks and what is the method to remove those lines.

  • I have a thin black line that appears on my iPad screen. Is my iPad defective?

I have a thin black line that appears on my iPad screen. Is my iPad defective?

It could be having issues. If that line appears across apps(as in in more than one app, and even when you're not in an app) , try resetting the device by holding down the home and sleep key, past the power down slider, and until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and see if the line persists. If it does, your next stop should be the apple store and let them take a look at it. Issues with the display like that are often beyond simple user fixes.

  • In Reminders on IOS7 on IPAD a Black Line has appeared around line 17/18. I cannot enter more lines after this

A mysterious Black Line has appeared in one of my Reminder sections on the Reminders App on Ipad 4. It is around Line 17/18.
It does not at the moment appear on my iphone using the same app
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I have the same problem, and have for many mounth now, searched for an alternative til iOS Reminders which can sync. to Exchange, but we cannot find one. We use Tasks in Outlook very much.
We have several iPad's with the problem, and we can not solve the problem.
Apple will NOT listen to us, they just say we have to restore the system, but it does not solve the problem!!
    Very frustating.
Now the Microsoft Surface 2 look, like a good alternative, and we will go in that direction. We cannot live with thi issue.
    Apple is NOT for bussiness.

  • IMac 10.4.11 Because permanent vertical lines have appeared on my screen, I need to get a new monitor. The adapter apple sells goes from female VGA to mini-DVI. What kind of cable should I get as well:female to male?

If I use an adapter (female VGA to mini-DVI) for my iMac 10.4.11 OSX, I also need a cable. Should that cable be female VGA to male VGA?
Permanent vertical lines have appeared on my display, and connecting to another display (monitor) requires a cable and adapter. I want to be sure I am purchasing the correct cable for the Apple adapter.

What made me think I need to format if I upgrade the OS?
    I just presumed so really.
What made me think I need to constantly format computer with my problem?
Well, after many attempts to repair the drive, which fails, cannot even reach the log in screen, I am left with no other choice?
And also, I have to note now, System Preferences keeps crashing without reason, it either takes ages to load, just by clicking it to open, or clicking something within it, or it just crashes.
And temporarily, it freezes the computer totally, with no response.
Seriously, am I missing a system file or something? Anyone experienced this problem before?
My computer is literally a blank computer right now, installed VLC and Shades, updated Adobe Flash Player, installed Skype and Adium. I would say Growl from Adium caused it, but it has happened prior to Skype and Adium. Any ideas anyone?
    Thanks,

  • Gray lines (like etch a sketch lines) have appeared on my iPad 2 screen. Why and what should I do about them?

Gray vertical lines have appeared on my iPad 2 screen. Much like an etch a sketch. What are they and is there anything that can be done about them?

Do they stay in the same place whichever way up you hold the iPad, and do they still show when you've got an app open ?
Have you tried a reset to see if they still show after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If that doesn't fix it then you could try restoring to your backup and/or resettings back to factory defaults. But you may need to contact Apple.

  • Red lines surrounding mouse cursor arrow, shutdown

noticed that four small dotted red lines have appeared around the cursor arrow..lines only follow mouse movement and do not appear anywhere else on the screen...my imac just now froze as i was scanning in a pic. i've done a manual restart and everything looks fine, starts to go through the "your computer did not shut down properly" screen without a hitch and then the dancing red lines appear. mac can make it through this screen but then freezes in main startup. this is the third time ive had to do a hard shut down. ??
has anyone run into the dancing red lines before? any suggestions?
    any help is greatly appreciated

    Hi, monica -
Just a thought - do you have the CloseView control panel installed? If so, try turning CloseView off within that control panel, or use the keyboard shortcut to toggle it off, which is Command-Option-K.
If you can't get the machine booted successfully to get to that control panel, then try booting with Extensions Off - hold down the Shift key from the start of booting until the desktop has fully loaded.
Then drag that control panel out of the Control Panels folder (in System Folder) and restart. I'm not sure if that control panel uses an associated preferences file, but you might look for one (System Folder >> Preferences) - if there, remove it to the desktop also.

  • How to fix black horizantal black lines on 2010macbook pro 17' screen?

    Hi everyone!
I come to the community for help after  looking everywhere on the internet. I've had a problem now with my computer for a while where these strange black lines (always horizontal in nature) appear on my screen. I have two pictures below:
    http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/hh521/violentfirebomb/blacklines02_zps5de5cc 51.jpg
    http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/hh521/violentfirebomb/blacklines01_zpsfe260c 8d.jpg
These black lines will appear out of no where and they won't go away unless I select whatever is there and move my mouse. If it's across some font, I can select the font and easily go over the black line and it'll disappear.
Also, the more permanent things is random drop shadows from open windows won't work or the shadow won't work in places. Sometimes the font below a folder or above an icon on my dock will just be gone, like a chunk of it missing the size of those black lines you see in pictures above.
Is it something I can fix? Should I take it into the genius bar? My computer is a 17' Macbook Pro from 2010 and I'll be honest, this never happened until I upgraded to Mountain Lion. I even reinstalled Mountain Lion but the black lines and random text as well as drop shadow disappearances have returned.
Let me know what everyone thinks!  I'd like to solve this mystery as quickly as I can! Thanks in advance.
    Leslie

When you have problems with the display, there are usually three possibilities:  The wire connection is faulty, the display is faulty or the GPU is having problems.  All are are hardware issues that cannot be solved by software and generally do not fall into the do it yourself category.
    Ciao.

  • My screen has a vertical black line

I have only been using my new iPad for a few hours and a vertical thin black line has appeared on the screen. I presume I have a defective iPad and need a replacement. Is that correct?

Me too. It is a band of black and colored lines running vertical in landscape and horizontal in portrait about two inches wide. It's cover over all apps and all the time. Reboot, restore is no help but touch function works fine across the stripes. The screen capture from the iPad1 does not appear the band of black and colored lines. It shows a normal screen. The answer when asked at the Genius Bar is, they never seen this problem before. And the solution that fix the problem may be expensive. But when searching on Google with the keyword "iPad half screen black" it's return 64,800,000 results. Some user comment that the video display hardware on the system board has been damaged. It's possible something has been dislodged or come loose. But, again, why this happened to many many users in the same period? In most cases the iPad never drop. It's happened immediately with no sign of warning. There are no ways to fix it right now. The iPad1 is just 2 years released. Is it too early to replace with the iPad3?

  • MSI GS60-2PC Screen flicker and horizontal black lines issue

  • Iphone 3gs black lines?

hi umm i have an iphone 3gs and for some unknowen reason recently it will turn itself off and 2 or 3 black lines will appear on the screen ive tried turning it off then on again but it seems as though when the bttery gets kinda low (10-20%) it will happen does anyone have any ideas?

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these steps in order until the problem is resolved.

  • Dropped my phone. Black lines through screen. Fixable?

I'm a very clumsy person. I've dropped my phone multiple times, & it's never sustained any damage. Unfortunately, last week I dropped it screen-down. The phone is still functioning normally. The only problem is that black horizontal lines have appeared near the top of the screen. They started off at probably about half an inch in length, now the lines have spread across the width of the screen. I'm assuming that dropping my phone has caused damage to the touch screen.
My question is this - is this something that can be fixed or do I need to get a new phone? Will the lines keep spreading? I'm due for an upgrade in December... does Verizon allow early upgrades?

You should be able to do an early upgrade if you explain whats going on, maybe
Sounds like not much you can do, lcd sounds like it cracked inside.. depending on the phone you could replace the screen through some 3rd parties *shrug*

  • Tiny Black lines in SWF

When I publish a SWF, there are 2 tiny black lines that
appear that aren't visible in the FLA file. Do you know why this
could occur? I can't figure why they would be there...
    View my SWF here...
    TrailerPartz Site
The SWF is in the upper left and the lines are just to the
right of the "Z" in that silver border

It appears as though there is a split in the background
graphic, possibly at a point where you moved a section of it. If
you did that, try redoing that piece as a whole and see if it gets
rid of the lines. If you never touched it in such a manner, there's
no more guessing I can do to help.
