Four dashes and no time on two STBs

Last evening I lost my connection to FIOS TV on all three STBs. There was a message that the station was temporarily unavailable, There was a solution that said to press the "B" button on my remote to reset the box. I did that on two of the STBs. The DVR came back with 4 dashes - no time. The other just has a screen stating "Starting Up ... One moment Please". The third set top box where I did not follow the reboot suggestion of home agent reconnected in a few hours and I have FIOS TV.
Called tech support and they tried sending a signal but it did not work. Am being told there is an "outage" in Manhattan and others who tried to reboot the box have the same issue. The outage is the lost connection to the FIOs server. Said that Central office will send a signal to correct the problem in a couple of hours. I have been told this since 10PM yesterday. They also said the instruction from the home agent to reboot was the cause the problem.
I "ggogled" and others with this problem in the past but never a solution except replacing the STB.
Anyone else with this issue? Does anyone know if it can be resolved by the Central office or will I need a replacement for two STBs?

Good news: This morning both STGs were working well. It appears that Central fixed my problem and similar ones overnight. Have tried to cancel shipment of STGs. Will return if they arrive.
Lesson: First call two days ago to a tech gave a correct assessment that there was a TV station outage. Second call also correct that tthe TV station outage was fixed but there was an new outage caused by customers who tried rebooting their STG during the station outage. That caused a loss of contact with the server. I was told that would be fixed in a few hours. However when I called late yesterday afternoon I was told they were not aware of an existing outage and felt it was probably wireing or my STG. I expect there was some confusion about which outage was fixed and which was outstanding and the plan for a solution. it appears that the plan was to fix the outage overnight - which they did.
It would be useful if My Verizon listed an outage in my area and the nature of the outage and when it was expected to be corrected. I expect the technology to provide localized notices exisits.

I have called Verizon numerous times regarding these issues. They tell me to do different things that never help. We eventually did a factory reset and it still has the same issues. Help! It is a brand new phone and unfortunately I am in a new two year contract. Ugh. Is there anyone out there who can help me?

I have done that several times. In fact, every time I call Verizon with my phone problems, they have me do the same things repeatedly. I keep telling them I have already done them but they insist they are SURE it will work this time. It never does. After doing the factory reset and it still not working correctly, they act like they are confused, almost like I am lying. I did what you suggested above on the slim chance it would work this time but it did not. I bought two S5's that day and the other one works perfectly fine. I know I got a bad phone. Verizon just does not listen. It is a bad phone. I just want a new phone that works properly. Is that too much to ask? I bought a new phone that has been bad from day one. That's one of the weird things.. it recognizes it maybe 10% of the time. And usually, only after I do the two-button reset. Problem is.. since it won't charge above 2%, anytime I try to do a restore or anything like that using iTunes, my device shuts off and I lose whatever progress I'd made.
So, an update... after reading through a bunch of similar complaints (there are literally 1000's of them so there's NO WAY this isn't somehow ios7 related, thanks a lot APPLE ) I decided to try a restore in recovery mode. After 3 hours and several disconnections... I ended up having to just set it up as a new iPad, as the restore did nothing. Weirdly though... as I was doing the restore in recovery mode.. I noticed I'd gotten up to a 10% charge.. higher than it's been since September, so after setting it up as a new device, I turned it off and plugged it in using the wall charger. 2 hours later and I was up to 38%. Still not great, as my iPad, before ios7 could've fully charged twice in the amount of time it took for me to now get 28% more of a charge. And that's with a fully cleaned out device.. so that really ***** and I'm now more confused than ever.
But I'm gonna leave it overnight charging and see what I come up with tomorrow. Sadly, when I paid $600 for it in February, I never expected to have to play "wait and see" with it...

To sign out of your Apple ID
Go to Settings > FaceTime, tap your Apple ID, and select Sign Out.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, tap your Apple ID, and select Sign Out.

I have two iCloud accounts .mac and .me. My contacts are duplicated 2 and 3 times. I only want one account.

Somehow, I ended up with two iCloud accounts. A .mac and a .me. I only need one but can not make the .me the primeray one (it tells me that the email is already in use). Anyways, I also have my contact records duplicated 2 and 3 times. I went to the Apple store in Beijing (I'm in China now) and they did not seem to know much about iCloud. They told me that I have to erase my contacts on the iPhone and iPad and then manually erase the duplicates. Is there another way to do it? How can I set up iCloud so that I only have one account?

You can't delete an iCloud account. You can, however, sign out of that account and just stop using it. Then sign in to your second account on all devices account.

It only gives me the option of signing in and when I do that I get an error message telling me that either my user name or password for my email is incorrect; even though I have been using my correct my apple ID in the password entry area. My apple ID works for every thing else. Please, can you help in this case?

When you complete your current contract, Verizon has options on which incentives you would like to take.

Seperate field containing date and time into two seperate columns

I have a column which contains entries which are in the format date time i.e. 27/10/2005 07:06:09
however i would like to have these as two seperate columns so the date is in one and the time in another.
how would i go about doing this in pl/sql?

im running a query in excel to graph a variable against time, however excel is not storing it correctly so when i try to use string manipulation to put the time on the x axis it's producing a long decimal number instead of the actual time.
i want to keep it in that format but also have it in two seperate columns. when excel makes the graph it will only read the same date over and over it won't get past the date to see the time changes.

See what happens if you select the TM icon in your menubar, and select Enter Time Machine there.

Your MacBook is using the big screen as the Presenter Display, and the MacBook Air display as the Show display. Tap the 'x' key to swap them during the show.

Up the top where the three buttons are (red yellow green) are three images. Click on the third image that looks like a notepad (not the first which is a library book), and that should get rid of 'Notes'. To read using two pages make the window bigger.

Transferring playlists
If you want not only your content but also your playlists to exist on your new computer, you will want to transfer a copy of all your playlists from your old computer. To do this, choose File > Library > Export Library on your old computer. Save the XML file that is created to your desktop.
Send the playlists file to yourself as an e-mail attachment, use an external drive, or use file sharing to move the playlists file to your new computer. Once the file is on your new computer, open iTunes and choose File > Library > Import Playlist. The import process will remove any items from the playlists that you didn't share via Home Sharing.
