A few GoLIve questions saved up. Using GL 7 on a Mac.
1. JPEGs IN TRASH
No idea how I got 150 or so JPEG files in the Mac Trash. Maybe I did it for some reason and forgot.
These files are also in my site window and work properly within GL. Is there any chance that somehow (Mac voodoo?) the files that are in the site window and that are also in the Trash will be deleted if I empty the Mac Trash?
2. BEST ROUTE FROM InDESIGN TO GL?
I will create a header component in ID. I will want to use it in two sizes in GL as a component. Is it best to create it in two sizes in ID? Or can I keep the original version in GL and also in GL dupe it and resize it as a second version with a different name?
Also, what's the best way to get this file from ID into GL? I can use the "Package for GoLive" option. But I think I was once advised, just drag the file into GL in the "InDesign Packages" folder or in the "Components" folder?
3. BEST WAY TO HAVE SAME 10 LINKS ON 10 PAGES?
I have a number of pages with portfolio thumbnails. The last cell on each page lists the 10 related thumbnails pages. I can go through and manually select each title and link it to the proper page. This means about 100-150 such manual links and hours of tedium. Is there an easier more efficient way? Can I create a pop-up, for example, and dupe it for each page?
4. CAN I DOUBLE LINK AN IMAGE?
On a typical thumbnails page, I have a table with 16 cells. Into some of the cells I have dragged a thumbnail which is sized properly and looks great. So far no problem.
I also have pages with the thumbnails shown larger for viewers who want a clearer larger image. Can I select the thumbnail and link it to the larger image? (I was about to do that and thought it might delete the linkage to the original I had dragged in to the cell.)
I did try the hot-spot or image-map approach, but it would not permit me to select an image, only a row or column of cells.

Well I tried it and it broke the existing link. Back to square one. Let me restate the problem.
I have a 120-pxl wide thumbnail image on one page in a cell. I had put it in the cell by selecting the cell and dragging the thumbnail image name from within the site window. Perfect. Everything was the right size. In Layout, in Preview, in a Browser, perfect. No problem. Gave it a 1-pt border. Looks just as I want it to look.
I now want to link that 120-pxl thumbnail to a larger 400-pxl size version of that image which I have already placed on another page.
So to do this I select the thumbnail and now link it to the larger one. And the original link breaks.
Conceivably I might be able to make each cell containing a thumbnail taller and list under it the file name for the larger one and link that text. That has three problems:(1) it will take forever and (2) it will look ugly. (3) To do it I have to increase the space betwen cells which opens the space horizontally, which I don't want, as well as vertically, which I do. And (4) I have no idea if I can insert such a small text box in such a small space.
So I am open to suggestion.
I have one idea. Instead of linking the thumbnail image to the larger image, maybe I can link the cell that contains the thumbnail to the larger image. (I assume Pres-Elect Obama is also seeking alternate solutions to alternate solutions so I don't feel lonely and hopeless. Yet.)

Four Basic Questions

I don't see a FAQ list for this area, so I'm going to ask questions that are fairly basic because I need help.
I am ready to turn a G4 tower into a server. I have reformatted the internal HD, bought two new SATA drives and a Firmtek SeriTek Serial ATA controller, so I feel pretty good from a hardware perspective.
The plan is to install the Mac OS X (Tiger) Server software onto the existing HD and use the two SATA drives for user files/data/storage. I believe this is possible, but have the following questions:
1. Can I partition the SATA drives (wanting to divide the 300GB drives into 4 75GB volumes) and still have the RAID work (assuming I partition each drive in the same way)? The manual seems to indicate each disk in a RAID must have a single partition, but I think I've read otherwise here and am confused on this.
2. If I can use multiple partitions, am I right in assuming that I need to create the partitions via Disk Utility BEFORE I install OS X Server?
3. And regardless of whether I can use partitions or not, the RAID is set up in the Mac OS X Server installation process, right? (Even when I am installing the software to a disk that will not be part of the RAID?)
4. Finally, (I have the 10 user license for the server software), are each of the partitions considered (in Apple terminology) a "share point"? In other words, if I do these four partitions, and someone logs into all four, will that use up 4 of the 10 licenses I have? I seriously hope not, but fear that it will. (Background, we have 6 employees, so I had the thought "10 users is plenty" ... but if 6 of the employees try to log in to three of the partitions each, is that 18 share points? That would seem to make the term "users" irrelevant.)
Thanks in advance for your help, I'd be grateful for insight here. I think I've done my research, but these basic questions are not ones I can seem to find answers to.

I'm assuming you mean using Apple's software RAID to mirror the two SATA drives connected to your PCI card, right? If so, then you can just install the OS into the internal HD, and start up your new server. Then, launch disk utility, create the RAID mirror 'logical disk', and then (I think) you can create your multiple partitions on the RAID volume (not 100% sure it will let you, but that would be the process if it does). In any case, you might want to consider getting a PCI SATA controller that does hardware RAID itself - less strain on the server CPU, and generally more robust than software RAID. Also: you didn't say how big your SATA drives are, but they'd need to be 300 GB each to get a 300 GB RAID mirror volume, as a RAID mirror is half as big as the sum of it's members.

Since you're installing the OS on the internal drive which isn't part of the RAID, then no, you could install the OS first on the internal, then set up the RAID SATA disks later.

RAID is setup from the disk utility app, which you can do before or after you install the OS. Probably easier to do it after.

No: partitions have nothing to do with sharepoints, and neither have anything to do with licensing. You can have 1 partition with 10 sharepoints inside it, or you could have 10 partitions with only one of them containing a sharepoint (note: be sure not to share a partition or volume: create a folder inside and share that instead). In either case, the 10 user license only restricts the number of users that can concurrently connect to the server (i.e. you can create more than 10 user accounts, but only 10 of them can log in at a time).

I was trying to increment a sequence. After the ALTER statement, the sequence didn't get incremented. I had to issue a NEXTVAL call to actually get this reflected. Why is this happening?

Question *3*.
To Increment a sequence, one should use
alter sequence <sequencename> increment by n ;Right?WRONG!! You have actually altered the structure of your sequence. With ALTER comand you are actually setting the increment value. Here "n" sets the increment size. If set as 1 it will increment by 1. If set as 2 will increment by 2.
Do you guys use

Four simple questions on LOP, DateModifier, HolidayCalendar and PlanVersion

I feel for you people it's a simple question and not required to post 4 different threads.
1. I create a LOP and a ML, how the system knows for LOP we have to deduct salary and for ML not required?
2. Date Modifier: We create a date modifier, but where we mention specific date for the date modifier?
3. Why holiday calender (or number range) can't transport? Why it 's not asking for a request while saving?
4. We can create different plan versions. Once we create a new plan version and planed to use that. How to transport the data from one Planversion to another? Do we need to repeat all the process again, like position, person etc or we can transport?

This is throught Absence Valuation that is Paid and Inpai which we configure in table T554C and assign the absence vlaution to the Absences the table V_554S_G

Hmmm once you Generated the pay periods the dates are generated and stored in table V_T549S
3. Why holiday calender (or number range) can't transport? Why it 's not asking for a request while saving?
For holiday Calendar we have the Transport request which shd be done Manually check the truck button in the tcode SCAL
4. We can create different plan versions. Once we create a new plan version and planed to use that. How to transport the data from one Planversion to another? Do we need to repeat all the process again, like position, person etc or we can transport?

See the link above: when I started doing this, I put the new episode below the first one. I do not know why I did this nor do I know if I could have placed the newest one at the top. The list is grown so big that, to update, I have to scroll quote a ways down which is time consuming. Wondering what my options are.
4 - XML/RSS MISTAKE CHANGES
I know a nice gentleman on here told me that there were a couple date mistakes which made the I-Tunes feed look all messed up. Can I change these and, if so, will it update on I-Tunes (ie: making it nicer to look at).

1. To change iTunes to using a few feed, you have to add this tag to the top section of the old feed (between the 'channel' tag and the first 'item' tag):

iTunes usually seems to update quite quickly, but you should leave the old feed in place for a couple of weeks to allow any subscribers to catch up.
2. Changing the 'podcast image' which appears on the Store page is independent of changing the feed. The URL for this image is carried in the 'itunes:image' tag in the top section of the feed. When you have a new image you should give it a different file name and amend the feed to match, otherwise iTunes can't tell it's changed. It can take a week or so for it to pick up the change.
3. It's common practice to place the latest episode at the top, but it doesn't really matter. By default, the Store page displays the episode in date order, latest on top, but you can sort in other orders by clicking on the column header. When subscribing, iTunes displays the episodes in date order only - latest on top by default but you can reverse this by clicking on the arrow in the column header.
4. All your episodes have 'pubDate' tags, and all the dates show when subscribing. However the Store page doesn't show dates for a number of older episodes (which therefore get sorted to the bottom of the list). I can't see why this is happening: it is showing the latest episode so it's presumably up-top-date, unless you've altered anything in the last couple of days.
The FeedValidator Report complains about some of your dates, but I can't see a problem with them - the cases where it complains of the wrong day of the week may be a time-zone issue (the difference between where it is and where you are) but that's a guess.
You can make any changes you like in the feed: once uploaded subscribers will see them immediately but it usually takes the Store a couple of days to catch up.

Grabbing Random Questions for the Question Pool

Hi Everyone,
I am interested in exactly how the Random Question Pool
works. Let's say there are 50 questions in the question pool and
you want 10 questions from that question pool of 50. When you
publish I understand you will get 10 random questions from the 50
questions. Then when you run your published project are you always
going to get the same 10 questions or another 10 of the 50 pooled
questions everytime your run that same published project? Or do you
have to publish again, calling the quiz another name to get another
10 of 50 questions from the question pool? I appreciate the help on
this.

It is my understanding that each time you
display the Captivate output, you see a totally random
question. So if your question pool contains 50 questions, each time
your Captivate output presents the random question and draws from
the pool, it is truly drawing a totally random question.
I do believe that Captivate does keep track of which
questions have been used in the pool. To test this, try creating a
pool containing three questions. Then create four random question
slides that point at the pool. Then try running the Captivate. You
should see that as random question number four is encountered, the
screen goes totally gray. This is happening because you have
exhausted the question pool.

How do I stop ipad from changing my settings such as store location while I am temporarily in another country?

QUESTION ONE: For example - the calendars were automatically changed to Bahasa. I changed them back - but they returned to Bahasa. The second time only some of the screens changed to Bahasa.
More seriously I can't download apps anymore because it tells me my store location is Indonesia and I registered in Australia store. I didn't change my store location - iPad did. How do I change it back?
QUESTION TWO
Another question - sometimes the screen goes large by itself and and won't reduce or zoom out again. The only way to fix it is to switch the ipad off and power on again. This does not work all the time. Any ideas? Fingers coming together do not work.
QUESTION THREE
Another question - I purchased a sd card and usb jack for photo import - as essential part of my use. The sd jack does not appear to work as it does not show any photos on the ipad - nor any 'way' to import or to view the files on sd. There is no little light to say its working or not - but I read the manual and it says that you insert the sd cardreader jack, turn on ipad and then insert the sd card without forcing - only one way fits. After doing this I select the photo icon as an obvious choice on ipad but there are no photos or dialogue.
QUESTION FOUR
Another question - In the same purchase I bought a usb jack for camera and photo connection. This seems to work as a dialogue message pops up when I insert a camera connected usb into it. But the dialogue says - 'the device uses too much electricity to import photos". Is this because the device is an android phone and not an iphone? Or is there another magic trick I need to learn?

The site file is a database that keeps track of all your assets (and much more), including the scriptLib file. As soon as the page is saved (when you use the site file and it's open) the link will be change to the correct path that will work on the server.
If you're not using the site file you might as well use a text editor, since most of GL functionality is gone.

How Can I Recover Paid For iPod Click Wheel Games

Well, well, well. It seems that Apple iTunes had really ****** me off today. Here is what happened

Here is my story and at the bottom are my Questions
The hard drive on my old computer crashed and I bought myself a new one. When I finally decided to put more on music onto my iPod Classic something happened. iTunes disabled without deleting my $300 worth of iPod Classic Click Wheel Games. I've called and contacted them for support to no avail. I believe I forgot to authorize my new computer before putting on my new music.
Just before Christmas I called Apple support asking questions & the man on the phone didn't have very good advice for me. He said that maybe iTunes could replace the games for me. So I started looking at iTunes for iPod Classic Click Wheel Games and they were no where to be found. Apparently Apple had removed them from the store and yet they sell iPod classics.

After Christmas I tried again to contact them about my iPod Classic to try and have my $300 worth of click wheel games replaced. While I waited on the phone for an hour while they played poor quality music into my ear giving me sever headache. (I have poor hearing, had a headache and was frustrated) She gave me advice to contact Apple about the iTunes store. I called again and got a hold of someone who i could better understand. He gave me a step by step information which was the same as the last person I had contacted.
Now I sent an email to iTunes store asking if i could get help
All the iPod Classic Click wheel games files were still on my iPod. Now I needed some way of retrieving the files. I really want to Download these games back from Apple iTunes Or to re-activate my iPod classic games and copy them from my iPod back onto my computer. It seems that this isn't possible. If this isn't possible I Am Going to Be very Skeptical about ever getting a iPod Touch or iPhone. I've already been telling a lot of people about my problem.

Somehow I managed to re-activate my lost games and copy most of the files back onto my computer using "Touch Copy".
Then I downloaded the last 4 missing files from somewhere else but I'm not posting where i got them.

Not really. All ClickWheel games should be locked to the account used to purchase them. If your friend wished to authorize your library that would work. At the time of purchase you were told that you got only one (successful) download of the content after which it would be your responsibility to maintain backups.

It will be fine. If you transfer the games into your library they can then be copied to any compatible device where they will work. The key is that the library doing the transfer is authorized to the relevant account when you update the content.

first, the environment setup: Mac OS X 10.4.8, Java EE 5, Annotations, Hibernate, Sun Java System Application Server 9.
second, the scenario: I have an enterprise application that consists of a WAR-archive (holding the webbased admin access to my application) and a EJB-Jar-archive inside. The latter one does define some Enterprise Java Beans (stateless SessionBeans), which are also annotated as being fully accessable Web-Services. A standalone client then should be able to access the application by calling these webservices. By deploying this EAR to the Sun Server, all WSDLs and webservices.xml are created dynamically.
third, the problem: When testing the single webservice methods through the Sun Server admin interface test-page, only these methods work, which receive a simple type parameter and also return a simple type parameter (e.g. long, int, ..). got a - hopefully simple to answer - question about soap and webservices.
first, the environment setup: Mac OS X 10.4.8, Java EE 5, Annotations, Hibernate, Sun Java System Application Server 9.
second, the scenario: I have an enterprise application that consists of a WAR-archive (holding the webbased admin access to my application) and a EJB-Jar-archive inside. The latter one does define some Enterprise Java Beans (stateless SessionBeans), which are also annotated as being fully accessable Web-Services. A standalone client then should be able to access the application by calling these webservices. By deploying this EAR to the Sun Server, all WSDLs and webservices.xml are created dynamically.
third, the problem: When testing the single webservice methods through the Sun Server admin interface test-page, only these methods work, which receive a simple type parameter and also return a simple type parameter (e.g. long, int, ..). When invoking a method to return a non-simple type (i.e. a self defined java object "jobOrder" holding ints, longs, Sets, etc..), i get the following error:

How can I view and delete specific documents in iCloud?

When I save a Pages document on my new iMac (Mountain Lion 10.8.2), the default location is iCloud. I have four related questions...
1. How do I change the "Save" default location from iCloud to my iMac?
2. How can I see what documents are stored in my iCloud account?
3. How do I delete a specific document from iCloud once I have accidentally saved it there?
4. How secure are the documents saved to iCloud?

Unfortunately, you can't if you are using iCloud.
File > Open, from the appropriate application.
File > Open. Select and delete.
They are encrypted on the servers, if that's what you are asking. Your account is also password protected.

Bridge for Newbie

I can't find a Bridge forum, so I'll ask my question(s) here.
I've been using CS3 for years and just subscribed to Creative Suite Cloud. I've never used Bridge; hardly even knew what it was. I just started exploring Bridge Cloud and am sold, though I can see it's going to be a steep learning curve.
I have several dynamic websites that are generally associated with one master site. For example, a dozen different sites might use a php include named www.mysite.com/includes/Header.php
So a site named World.com might consist of little more than a home page and static pages for each section (Topics, etc.), each one linked to a series of includes in the main site (mysite.com).
Images are more complex. I originally wanted to store all images in mysite.com, but I'm not moving towards putting all the images for World.com on that website, and likewise for the other sites. Background images are more complex, because I can't connect with some of them unless they're on mysite.com, depending on whether I'm using a style sheet (and what site the style sheet's on), or a PHP include.
I've made attempts to use a database to list every image and control its display, but that gets complex really fast.
In other words, it's a can of worms, though it's generally working, and I'm constantly refining it.
Anyway, I have four basic questions that will help me put things in perspective, though I'm asking anyone to tackle all five. Any tips would be helpful.
First, I'm hoping to somehow achieve total control over my images...
1. Is there a way to automatically register every image in every site, even if it isn't used in a web page? Actually, the answer has to be yes, since all web pages and assets are registered when I import site definitions. But is there some master control I can use to view, compare and manipulate images from various sites? For example, let's say I have five images named Elephant.jpg on four different websites. It would be nice if I could determine if any of these images are exactly the same, which ones are used in particular websites and which ones aren't being used at all. (Or is this something I should do with Lightroom?)
2. When I save an image for the web with Photoshop, I assume it will be automatically added to the mix, since it will become part of a site's assets. But if I save an image as a Photoshop file, will Bridge automatically keep track of its location? For example, if I drag it into a new folder, will Bridge remember its new location?
3. Do you have any tips regarding integrating Bridge with Lightroom (or Apple Aperture)? I currently have Aperture, but I want to upgrade to Lightroom, if I can figure out how to download it. (It's supposed to be part of the Creative Suite Cloud.) Do Bridge, Photoshop and Lightroom all work together, so each program more or less knows what's happening to an image in another program? If I'm able to download Lightroom, then I'm going to import all my images from Aperture (hopefully with the metadata intact).
4. I'm on a Mac, so I'm in the habit of navigating all my sites with Finder, which I often used to open images and move them from one folder to another. I assume I'm going to have to break the latter habit and start using Bridge to drag files from one folder to another, right? But what about opening files? Is it generally OK to open files with Finder, or can even that somehow interfere with the operation of Bridge or the Creative Suite Cloud?

Help with code for score-keeping with dynamic text box

Hi All,
I'm having an actionscript 2.0 problem with keeping score.
I have a dynamic text box with a variable called score.
I have the following action code for that variable:
_root.score = 0;
For the correct answer button I have this action:
_root.score = Number (score) +10;
This works fine to increase the score by 10 for each correct answer.
The problem is that I can't get an if statement to work for when the score reaches 150 to gotoAndPlay a certain frame. I've tried various syntax, I've tried it on the action for a button and an action for the timeline with:
onRelease = function () {
(My learning game is set up to allow for users to answer up to four extra questions to reach the score of 150).
Nothing works. Any suggestions please?

T440s: computations and trackpad

Hi guys,
Four quick questions for you regarding t440s, which hopefully will help me decide if to buy this model:
1. In your experience, can you do computations on this ultrabook (assuming 12GB)? e.g. Eclipse, Visual Studio, Matlab, etc.
2. Trackpad sound when pressing it down: how bad is it actually? Can you tap on the trackpad, without pressing it down, similar to Mac?
3. How would you rate t440s trackpad compared to Mac?
4. Most reviews seem to refer to a Windows configuration. How would that change for linux?

It is louder than I would prefer, but it is not uncomfortable. If I was in a room with several other people using the same trackpad, it might get annoying.
My trackpad was defective to begin with - it was very loud. I had it replaced and now it is more tolerable.
2b. Can you tap on the trackpad, without pressing it down, similar to Mac?
Yes you can just tap your finger without pressing it down. And you can tap two fingers apart to trigger a right click.

Mini Screen Display

I am considering the purchase of an IPod Mini - but have some concern about how fragile it might be. A) If it is dropped by accident or bumped while carried in a purse or backpack, how easily is the screen damaged? B)Is it beyond repair if this happens? C)Or can it be restored/fixed. D)Is there a product that can be recommended to protect the mini from damage? I know this is a four part question - but I read through many, many posts and didn't see anything specific on this topic. Type="Class" in the jsp:useBean tag

I create a class named quiz containing four Strings question,answer1,answer2,answer3
I initialize them in the constructor.
I made four get methods ...getQuestion(), getAnswer1 ...and so on.
I made the class implement the serializable interface.
in the main i created an object of that class and stored it on a file with .ser extension and i do the following in the jsp page

but he gives me classnotfoundexception for the classname in the type field.
what can i do?

Should be under the web-inf/classes directory (in its package directory)
Regarding your Quiz class:
- It must be in a package
- Also that it has a public noargs constructor:
