Four Replacement Iphone 5
Is it normal to have to go through 4 replacement apple iphone 5, all due to hardware issues ?
Yep four iPhone 5, the first two where to do with the camera aperture not opening, the third has the iPhone was not charging and the four was the home button. On the home button issue they said the could replace the button in store and told me to leave the phone with them for about 30 minutes. When I went to collect they had broken the screen in the process of the repair as it had white, black and grey lines across the screen. So they have me a new unit there and then !

Sorry for ur broken iphone. The best thing is to go to apple store and talk to them.Tell them this is the very first time it had happened to you. they will replace the phone for free as a one time courtesy. They did mines and my friend phone for free. as far as sprint warranty, i am not really sure what warranty covers. usually they charge you around $200 to replace the iphone but thats for insurance not the warranty. Your mom is right about the sensors. It is kind of hard to replace iphone 4 screen because the digitizer and lcd are attached to each other with glue i guess. I tried replacing one for my friend and ended up messing the iphone. Your best bet is to try apple store if they refuse which I believe they wont than you can go through sprint or buy a screen from ebay and get a certified tech to put it on for u. That will cost you less money but you will void the sprint warranty but to be honest with you. They wont find out if you had replaced the screen or not. Good luck -
My photos on my replacement iphone won't download from icloud
I had to get my iPhone 4s replaced & before going to the Apple Store, I did an iCloud backup. When I got my replacement iPhone, everything was transferred onto the new phone. When I went home, my pictures said "downloading". (I only had 366 photos) So I let my phone sit for a few hours, thinking the pictures would download. Well, they never did and my phone has been saying "downloading" on my pictures for 6 days now. Does anybody know what to do and could help me?

Connecting your iPhone to a power source and connecting to a Wi-Fi network can help complete the process.
After your settings and accounts are restored, your device restarts and begins downloading your purchased music, movies, TV shows, apps, books, Camera Roll, and other content. You can use your device normally during this time, but if you receive an alert or are having trouble completing the restore, connect your device to a power source and make sure that it's connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi. Then wait until your device is restored to use it.

Just had replacement iPhone 4S but my music won't download? All my purchased albums are showing on iTunes Store and my iPad but won't download onto new iphone. I just bought another album on my phone and that won't download either. My phone is on IOS 6.1.3 iPad is on IOS 7.0.4
You can try resetting your iPhone by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists. -
Replacement iphone - trying to restore from backup, but iOS v 6 running and won't update from recent backup. How do I ensure I get all my photos etc onto new phone?
ThanksIf you're old phone that was repalced was a higher version of iOS, it wont be able to restore. Update your iPhone to the lastest iOS 7.0.4 and try to restore it then.

Replacement iphone 3gs problem
Replacement iphone 3gs came with iOS 6.0 but on initial set up i am told to use my iCloud i need 6.1.3 onwards. Cannot update iOS as cannot get past the set up stage. Need to recover my 800 odd photos somehow. Do i go the iTunes route on set up? Will this help me to find my photos or do i have to set up with the cloud? Help if you can. Thanks
You couldn't have restored your old backup because in order to do so you have to be running the same or higher version of iOS on your replacement phone. Since it's running iOS 6.0 in can't restore a backup made on a phone runnin 6.1.3 until it's updated, which is why you got that message.
Update your replacement phone to the latest iOS (7.0.4) by following the directions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4623. After it's updated, go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, then go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup and follow the prompts, choosing the backup of your old phone to restore from. Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger as it is restoring the backup. -

I am facing lot of issues with my iphone 3gs.Please i request you guys dont buy any apple products here.its waste.I bought my iphone one moth back when i use GPRS(internet ) on my phone .it will shut down and gets heated.Went to imagine(Authorised apple service center)they said will replace the phone when i went to collect the phone they said it a new one when i check the connector it was having all dust in it.WHEN I ASKED THEN AGAIN THEY SAY ITS A NEW PRODUCT.HOW COME A NEW PRODUCT HAS DUST COLLECTED IN CONNECTOR DOCK.
Replace the phone with a brand new phone.There should be no way to tell. The dealer/store shouldn't know either. It should be good as new.
The warranty clearly states that it can be a refurb unit. You have no say in the matter. -
I have restored my new replacement iPhone from my latest iCloud back up. However my camera roll pictures are not displaying. Its not saying I don't have any pictures in my camera roll, it has all the spaces for them, but it just shows empty white squares? How do I get my pictures back? Thanks!
It's difficult to say whether it's stuck or not as the time to restore a backup can depend on many factors. You'll have to decide when you think it's just not continuing. You could try turning the phone off (hold the power button until you see the red off slider, then slide to turn off), then back on to see if that would get it going again.
When you're convinced it's just hung, you can go back to settings and tap Stop Restoring iPhone to stop the restore. You'll then have to try restoring it again (Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup). Be sure it's connected to your charger and wifi while it's restoring the backup.
You might also try the approach posted here by ezjules: https://discussions.apple.com/message/19518589#19518589. This seems to have worked for some people who had trouble restoring their photos from an iCloud backup. -
I can't sync my iPhone and back up my data with my computer because iTunes says to enter the passcode into my iPhone to unlock it, but I am unable to unlock and enter in my passcode on my iPhone because the screen is shattered. I have my replacement iPhone with me and I'm not going to activate it until I can sync/get the data from my broken iPhone. I have the envelope to send my broken iPhone back to the Verizon store or whatever so that's not a problem. I just can't sync my old iPhone with my computer.

Now I have a few more questions: If I mail my broken iPhone to Asurion, will I be able to get my data off of my iPhone once Asurion has it? And what will happen to my old iPhone and the data on it if I activate my replacement iPhone? Will my broken iPhone just become de-activated and will the data be erased or lost or something? Could I still sync it (with the computer ir originally synced with) and back up the data?

Trying to connect my replacement Iphone 3GS to my windows 7 laptop but it is not recognised at all, my ipod can connect no problem, my iphone can connect to my windows vista computer no problem. Any ideas?

ITunes Restore to Replacement iPhone Did Not Work

My iphone died Wednesday night. It would not start anymore, even with the hard reset sequence. Last night I took it to the Apple Store and was amazed that they replaced it on the spot. No loaner. No forms to fill out. Just sign here ... and here is a squeaky new 8GB iPhone to replace mine. So far so good. first class service.
I asked about restoring my data. The guy at the genius bar said "so long as you synced recently in ITunes, all of your data will be restored". I had synced every night, so I should be fine. "Even my contacts and phone numbers", I asked? "Yes" he said. He switched my old sim card into the new iphone. I started it and called home ... it just worked.
When I arrived home, I put the iphone in the cradle and voila, iTunes launched, said it recognized that this was a different iphone and offered me a choice of registering the new one or restoring the old one. I opted for restore and the restore started.
A couple of minutes later I saw the apple logo on the iphone (restarting) and the following dialog on the screen of my PC: "Could not restore iPhone because a timeout occurred during restore." Ouch. But I noticed in iTunes that the name of the new iPhone had indeed changed to the name of my old iphone (silver swing phone). So I thought perhaps the restore had worked ... but some hand shake failed at the end?
I ejected from Itunes and took the iphone out of the cradle. Thumbed through the apps ... no data. No contacts, no notes, no email accounts and no ipod content. So I put it back in the cradle and hit "Sync" on Itunes. The ipod content then started syncing and 10 mins or so later I had 7GB of audio and video back in place. But still no contacts, email accounts or notes.
So questions:
1. Has anyone had a better experience with restoring to a replacement iphone?
2. Does anyone know if my contacts, notes and email accounts are backed up in itunes still ... and if so, how can I get them to restore?
3. Did the restore really fail? If so, should I worry about my new iPhone?
4. If ITunes does not back up my contacts, notes and email accounts ... is there another way to back them up for the future? I am feeling demotivated about adding 100 contacts back in manually if there is not some way to back them up and reload them if I have another iPhone failure.
ThanksI doubt that this early on many people have encountered this function of the phone. It obviously is some sort of glitch, however your contacts and everything should still sync as long as they are on the PC. Make sure in the ipod settings that you have it set to sync with the computer. I don't know why it would have been shut off but somewhere there is obviously a problem. Don't worry though, everything should be on the pc.. it is just a matter of telling itunes to sync it to the phone.

I'm on an orange france contract and recently had a faulty iphone 3g black 16gb replaced by apple.
When I put my original sim into the new iphone and connect up to itunes 8 I get the following message:
'The sim card inserted into this iphone does not appear to be supported'
The iphone is runnning 2.1 firmware.
The sim card worked perfectly in my old iphone 3g and works when put into other mobiles.
I've had a replacement SIM card without any luck and have even tried with another brand new
unactivated iphone. When i put the sim card in an already activated iphone it works fine. I've tried
restoring the firmware and tried activating it on other pc's and macs.
Does anybody have any ideas? Both orange and apple are completely stumped.MonkeyPuzzle I have exactly the same issue but with an O2 (Apple's Carrier in UK) sim and replacement iphone 3G phone. Neither O2 or Apple can understand what is the cause. I have had three sim cards, changed tarif and now have a second iphone 3G from Apple which I've purchased from them as a loan to establish if the previous replacement has a hardware issue. Unfortunately I am experiencing the same issue with the second phone. I will keep pressing Apple and O2 for a solution although am beginning to feel this is a wider issue. I have recently got a new replacement iPhone 4. Since I got this I have found that my data allowance is getting used up during the night while my phone is charging on the bedside table. How an I find out what is causing this and stop it happening? Some nights the usage is 150 meg!
You can not access the backup directly.
Did you restore your replacement from this backup?
If so then you already have everything in the backup on your device.
If not, you can wipe the device and restore from this backup:
Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings
What is it you are worried about losing that isn't already on your current device? -
Can't get replacement IPhone to connect to Wi-Fi

Have got replacement iPhone from Apple (very pleased), restored from iTunes OK, all working well, but will not connect to either my W-Fi network at home or that of my partner's. Phone is 3GS (I think) version 4.2.1 (8C148). Connecting to ADSL router from Sky in the UK which is currently set to WPA-PSK with TKIP encryption. Does that sound right? The phone can see the networks but when I enter the passkey on routers it just says unable to connect.
Have tried all sorts of things including typing in the IP address but no good. Router is fine because I've got 2 PCs, a laptop and an iPad all connecting at different times. Reluctant to re-set the router since presumably then I'd have to reset all my other devices and am not that technical.
Can anyone help please?

If you haven't tried, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Setttings
Restart the iPhone.

2nd replacement iPhone 4S and battery is even worse!!!
So this is the second replacement iPhone 4S I received from an apple genius.
The battery life is even worse on this one. Down 1% every 2-5 minutes?! Fully charged at 109% and during usage, it went down to 90% in 45 minutes. All of the settings that have been recommended to turn off are off and still nothing.
Here's a list of all the settings that are off
Ping
All the location advanced settings like setting time zone
Automatic time change
3G/data
Most notifications
Etc etc
Even after doing a DFU mode restore without any back up and no syncing any apps, music, etc, still the same
You know how annoying it is to be using your phone and you constantly see your battery percentage going down every 2 minutes?!
The genius that "helped" me yesterday was useless and rude.
Honestly, if it's a software problems, then why is it only iPhone 4s out of everybody in my family? That's 4 other people with the iPhone 4S and 2 people with the iPhone 4, all on 5.0.1 yet I'm the only one with the battery issues?
Yes it is weird that both replacement iPhones that I received has horrible battery life but I don't get how I'm the only one in the family that has this problem.

i understand from all your saying regarding everything is off,brightness is down,vibrate is off,3g is off,location off,no emails set up,time change,wi-fi,,etc etc
ok ,how long did you charge up your iphone for initally for ?
let the battery die ,leave it for a few hours ,(use another mobile if you need a mobile)
recharge the iphone,when you get sum power,unplug ,check for updates,do a reset,then reconnect to charge it,when fully charged,keep all your settings off.use as per usual .
see how your battery copes then,
again do same thing with letting battery die out before recharging.
if problem continues then i would take it back to the store
