There is NOTHING like 'Must have' applications. Its solely user dependant.. An application extremely useful to one user may be totally useless for you and vice-versa... Best is to search on OVI Store or Google and decide yourself..

Multiclient IM for symbian

Hi all,
I need a multiclient IM application for Symbian OS. Specially, using the application user can log into yahoo, msn or google like popular IM. I think many developers are familiar with libpurple or kopete multiclient library for IM.
If anyone is already experienced on such a kind of development that would be great.

Do the existing applications not do the job well enough?
For example:

www.nimbuzz.com
These all support multi client IM and do the job very well in my opinion.

Will nokia get the instagram application for symbian smartphones ?
Iv been using the 808 , the best camera phone no doubt and a long way ahead other mobiles in the camera sector but ironically it does not have the trending photo sharing application .. I hope nokia makes it available , if someone has details please reply , Thanks

Applications for N82

Hi,
Are there any sites out there that will give me a good list and details of applications available for the N82? Done a bit of a google around but only found the official site which appears to have a very limited list, and old and out of date sites, or dodgy sites just trying to sell me ringtones.
Particularly after an alternative to the music player should one exist.

Back to the point of this topic, though. Don't look for applications specifically for the N82. Instead, look for applications for Symbian S60 3rd edition and you'll probably have more choice

Unable to install Foursquare for Symbian

Hi, I'm using an Nokia N8 device with Nokia Belle software.
Today I received an notification that there is new version of Foursquare for Symbian at Nokia Store, when I tried to update an existing Foursquare I've received notification that new version cannot be installed because there was some problems with the signature.
I tried to delete existing foursquare app from the phone and install the new version but this is impossible due to mentioned signature problem.
I would like to note that I don't have enabled option that allow installation of signed apps only. And that I had installed previous version of Foursquare.

check this out, you will find apps, themes and stuff for your phone. some apps from previous os's will work but not all. you might have to register to actually download the apps, but have a look and see if you see something interesting

not that i'm aware of. and i would say that the chances are pretty slim. these kinds of applications are rare on mobiles, even client side, given that their IPs are rarely routable.
what are you ultimately trying to achieve. maybe that is a better approach.

Hello,
is there any application similar to blacklist for C 3 ?
I receive unwanted calls at late hours and I'd like to install an application to automatically reject different numbers.
I saw there are plenty for Symbian, but I don't know which one can be used for non-symbian phones like C 3 .

Patch for Symbian Anna released? (Nokia E7)

Hi All
I am not sure what is going on.
My E7 was serviced by NOKIA care Point one week ago. Phone came back to me with Symbian Anna and all updates applied (I checked it same day the phone was back)
Today, when checking Applications>SW Update I noticed this:
My Question is:
Is this update about patch for Symbian Anna?
Because here are details of my system:
I am confused because same set of updates came from Nokia when I was updating from Symbian^3 to Anna.
Can any one explain this?

let me give you some more flashes:
1. 7370 reset will tell you that all the 3 updates are required.
2. after doing so, ovi store will not work.
3. you will scour this forum and find out that you have to install 3 files, in proper sequence, reboot system.
4. bad luck.
5. then you will try 3 button reset
6. WOW. ovi store will work after the similar 3 file anna update
7. you will call nokia care line
8. they will tell you that 3 button reset is not nokia recommended and that you will have to "reflash" your device
9. you will lose your cool, especially after having come from the same place already
10. then you will scream out loud in this forum.
11. you will get used to the problem or you will optimistally wait for Belle.
whew... sometimes, i tend to think that if the above process is standard in one order or the other, there is no need for this forum! nokia can post this in a website itself as a
if... then... else... code prose!

Its kind funny. The Nokia Store site says not available for C3-01. The Nokia Suite says it is & installs it. But the phone says error.

Mp3 id tag editor for symbian^3?

i've been searching for a good mp3 tag editor for like forever. .all i found were s60 3rd (not compatible with my phone) and java apps (not good enough). So, does anyone know any good mp3 tag editor apps for symbian^3 or at least for s60v5 that wil work on S^3. I use nokia C6-01 Symbian Belle Refresh

Please see this thread for a possible solution to the issue, the application is included in the first post. Alternatively you can edit your tags using Zune or any other MP3 player on your computer.
