Foutmelding bij opstarten Indesign/problem by starting Indesign
Hi everybody,
Is there some one who can help me? I've a problem whith starting Indesign. There is a big topic about it, but nothing works, or I do it wrong?
My English is not that good tot solve the problem.
I've an Imac and work with Indesign CS3. Last time it works perfectly and nothing happend, but now it won't start. I get the message: cannot start Indesig because it requires shortcut editor dialig plug in.
I've read that you have to search for the shortcut and put in in the plug-in map under UI. I did that, but it still doesn't work.
What did I do wrong? Is there sombody who can help me, in dutch I prefere.

I called her but was not really able to help. It certainly is not as easy as setting the Preferences access rights that worked for others with this same problem. The actual file structure in the Shortcut Editor Dialog plugin folder itself appears to be correct.
Unfortunately, a full re-install did not resolve it, but I advised her to try again, this time running the CS3 Clean Script as well. Much as I am opposed to, uhm, "Top Kill" methods, this seems to be a last resort.
Awaiting this reinstall (and that without a live camera feed, I'm afraid), any other pointers from more experienced Mac users?

Problem-Starting InDesign Server for use with CORBA / Java and IOR file not generated
I'm trying to start Indesign Server cs3 for use with Corba, as per the document the server should generate the start-up message like this..
InDesignServer -iorfile c:\ior.txt -pluginpath Server\Corba
[server] Writing IOR to ... and it should generate the IOR file
but I'm getting the usual start-up message and the IOR file is not generated, I hope IOR file is required for Java component interaction with IDS, kindly help me to solve this.

It looks like the example command line in the "Intro to InDesign Server" pdf is using curly quotes instead of straight quotes. If you copy the command from the pdf and paste it in your command shell, it won't work because of the curly quotes.
You can run the command without the quotes as Rich has said, but, as will all command lines, if your path contains a space, you will need to put quotes (straight ones!) around the path.

Intermittent problem - CS5 document opens grey when starting InDesign
Users PC specs - Windows 7, dual core processor, 1+ GBs of ram (most cases 2+ GB), InDesign CS5.
(200+ InDesign users)
I have had several users complain about documents opening completely grey. The whole document, including text is greyed out. The only thing you can see is outlines of frames. It does not happen all of the time, and usually restarting InDesign solves the problem. I know for a fact it is not a display performance problem where the user has their display performance set to "fast". It is the whole document that is grey and not just the images.
We have tried deleting preferences, uninstalling/reinstalling InDesign, all with no luck. One user has this happen several times on a daily basis.
If anyone has any available information on what might be causing this issue, it would be greatly appreciated!

Attempted resolutions -
Patch 7.0.3 has been applied
Drivers have been updated
Bios has been updated
ID CS5 has been removed and reinstalled
Preferences have been deleted
So far, none of these have helped resolve the problem. I've been told that the application crashes 2 out of 3 times when opening a document. InDesign only crashes when opening a document though, not when launching the application alone. This does not happen on a specific document.
There is also an application error recorded in the event log when this happens -

InDesign doesn't start on MacBook Pro 15" Mountain Lion
Hi,
Adobe InDesign CS5 is the only program of the Adobe Collection that gives me troubles.
I don't manage to open any existing document nor create a new one.
Here's what I do:
1. Launch the application Adobe InDesign CS5;
2. Select "Create a New Document";
3. Set the New Document settings;
4. Press "OK"
The window of the new document opens but it doesn't become active and keeps waiting until I Force Quit.

Hello,
After 7 times having discussed my problem with the help desk I hope there is somebody out there who can help me. After I click the Icon in the taskbar InDesign (v. 9.2) starts up (the logo is showing on my screen) after about two seconds when it is showing the message "laden van toepassingen" (sorry Dutch version) it freezes.
What have I done so far:
1. made an new account under windows as a administrator; result; the application started but after opening a file it froze again
2. deleted all of my fonts,
3.signed out from my adobe cc account and signed in again
4. removed Indesign and dowloaded it again
5. deleted the files in the folder: C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe InDesign (AppPrefs)
6. deleted the files in the folder: C:\Users\AppData\Local\Adobe\InDesign\Version 9.0 (nl_NL)
What does work:
1. Starting InDesign in Windows safe mode
2. Deleting the file nl_NL from the folder C:\Users\AppData\Local\Adobe\InDesign\Version 9.0 (nl_NL), before I start any other program and don't close InDesign.
3. All the others applications from Adboe CC
OS: Windows 8.1 (dual screen)
What have I done lately to Indesign:
Assisgned a new keybord short cut while ctr + didn't work
Installed some fots from the web kit (also deleted them)
Many thanks for possible solutions.I've been googling, and it seems Microdoft has been fooling around with MSconfig again (I still run Win7). In Windows 8 the startup list is now in Task Manager, and it looks like they've added a indetifying asterisk for those programs that are required, which is helpful.
So instead of MSconfig, start task manager, and then go the othe startup tab, and disable half of anything non-essential (pick things you suspect might be the problem, first), then reboot. Test. If it works, add back half of waht you disabled and try again. If it doesn't work, disable the other half. You should be able to isolate a conflict in a very small number of steps this way. -
InDesign CS4 Mac starts but then freezes
Indesign CS4 Mac starts up but freezes from there. Trying to open files or create new ones results in the filename appearing at the bottom of the Window drop-down menu, but the file doesnt appear on-screen.
The same result occurs when opening files using "Open Recent File" as well as double-clicking the file in Finder or using "Open With" in FInder.
It couldnt have picked a worse time to crap out - right in the middle of an urgent contract!! Dang Cleetus!!
Any suggestions - apart from re-installing the program?

JohnTried renaming InDesign Saved data and InDesign Defaults and restarting InDesign - that didnt seem to fix the problem - after re-starting InDesign it seemed the program didnt write new versions of the files on re-start.
Will head back to the office & connect to my 23" display & see if ID works OK with that - that would confirm that it's a screen pointing issue?
Would re-installing ID help?

Startup Alert when starting InDesign CC
Hi there,
I get the following error message when starting InDesign CC: Startup Alert: Einige für das Farbmanagement erforderliche Dateien fehlen. Installieren Sie die Anwendung erneut, um eine korrekte Funktionsweise sicherzustellen. (In English: Some files required for color management are missing. Install the application again to ensure proper operation).
Installation was done 3times. Even installed all CC Apps again starting with BRIDGE CC.
Some background:
Mac OSX 10.7.5
First installation was CS 4
Then CS 6
Now CC

Both Illustrator and Indesign don't start, what to do?
I use Adobe Creative Cloud. Since a month or two, both Illustrator and InDesign won't start up anymore. I've followed the instructions below, but they don't help. I have no clue what causes this. I'm using a late 2011 macbook pro, running OSX Mountain Lion.
Please uninstall and reinstall the product.
If this problem still occurs, please contact Adobe technical support for help, and mention the error code shown at the bottom of this screen.

I Have windows server 2003 Ent. Edition. with sp2. & Dot net 2.0.i have installed Indesign CS3 Server & its installed completely but when i run indesignserver.exe it shows error that "indesign server not configured properly".& if i start indesign server service this shows error ...."indesign server service not run on Local computer"......
then i found that indesign server service needs Dot Net 2.0 SP1 so i haev installed that too but the same problem found.
plzz help me out to run indesign server. i need this as soon as possible.....

Though there shouldn't be any problems, we just didn't feel comfortable claiming support for this configuration without testing against it.

I successfully installed InDesign CS4 Debug and it is working fine on my PC. But I am facing below problem:
InDesign CS4 Release version is asking for serial number. Release version of InDesign CS4 never asked for serial number before installation of Debug version of InDesign.
When I tried to debug my code Debug version of Indesign CS4 is not get launched on my PC on the same time it is working fine on other PC which configuration is high like 3GB of RAM.
Please let me know how I can overcome these issues. Definetly some one had face the same problem in past. I am using debug version of InDesign first time.

But it is not solving my problem. First strange thing is this pre-installed release version of InDesign CS4 was working fine from last two months after installing debug version of InDesign CS4 it started asking for serial number. And after few days shortcuts stops working, even the i checked shortcut keyboard "Set", but there is no set available.

InDesign problem downloading...
InDesign would not start up for some reason today so after a few tries I deleted the program so I can do a fresh install....unfortunately, the InDesign icon under the Creative Cloud menu has disappeared. I tried downloading using the link on the site but it only prompts me back to the Creative Cloud menu but still does not show InDesign as a downloadable program. Please help! mahalo!

I'm starting InDesign 5.5 in OS X 10.8.2 and whenever I start the app, it hangs.

I've tried deleting SING and Adobefnt*.lst, which has not helped. Oh, and I've also run "sudo update_dyld_shared_cache -force" to no effect.Did it ever start properly? If not, it probably never wrote the prefs, but hers' how to repalce them: Replace Your Preferences
If you want to try reinstalling, that's a valid thing to do, too, but I'd try a new user account, first, to be sure it hangs there, too, or you're just wasting your time. If it works in a new user, see Adobe Forums: InDesign crashes at startup for a list of other files to try removing from your first user account. Error when starting InDesign CC after first installation.
I'm running CC under OS X 10.9. Having installed InDesign CC as an admin-user using the CC Manager InDesign won't start. Repairing the disk permissions won't help. Uninstalling an reinstalling InDesign CC won't help. Thank you for any help!

Convert Scribble fill to line..???
Hey there!! Does anyone know how to convert the scribble fill (effect>stylize>scribble) to a line so that way I could change the brush of the fill-- not the outline Thanx x

Does introducing WCCP redirect for WAAS disrupt Netflow information?
Before installing WAAS and WCCP redirect on some 6500 interfaces in our data center, those interfaces showed Netflow flows for users at a remote location accessing servers at our data center. Now with WCCP redirecting that traffic to the WAEs, I noti
