Fox "24" Episode 9:00am - 10:00 am Download Error!

Hey!
I have every episode except for this one and I am ready to start watching Season 5. When I try to purchase the Episode from 9:00 am - 10:00 am iTunes pops a message up that says, "The item you tried to buy is no longer available". It stills shows on the list with a preview and everything, but no download.
What the heck! Can anyone check into this and see what is going on? Thanks!
Jonathan

NADA! I wrote to to customer service and they repplied that "we are always looking to expand our catalog, if you have not found what yo were looking for, please refer to our requests site..."
Amazing they answered this! We are not talking about a "request" for new material, we are talking about an episode from a released season that was there and now it isn't... so iTunes is proudly selling 23 out of 24 episodes from Season 5... unbeliavable.

I have several episodes of a TV show where it says download error, tap to retry and when I do it repeats the error message.  Can I get it to work or get reimbursed for the ones I'm missing?  I'm using an iPad 1 which has worked fine for all the others.

    Hi AlpineJean,
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues downloading some episodes to your iPad.
I would first suggest you sign out of your iTunes account on your iPad, restart the device and sign back in.
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Tap on your Apple ID account > Tap Sign Out
Click on the link below for additional troubleshooting steps with more details and screenshots.
I've quoted some helpful highlights for you:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
To view or download previously purchased:
    TV Shows on iOS
Open the iTunes Store on your device.
Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase.
Tap More from the bottom navigation bar.
    Tap TV Shows.
Locate the TV show episode or series you would like to download.
Once you've located the TV shows you are looking for, tap the download button.
The TV show will begin downloading.
Previous purchases may be unavailable if they have been refunded or are no longer on the iTunes Store. Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.
If this does not resolve your issue, please follow these instructions for support from the iTunes Store:
How to report an issue with your iTunes Store, App Store, Mac App Store, or iBookstore purchase
Find the email receipt for your purchase.
Click Report a Problem under the app that is having the issue.
When prompted, enter the Apple ID and password you used to purchase the item, then click Report a Problem.
Click Report a Problem next to the item you are having an issue with.
From the Choose Problem dropdown menu, choose the appropriate issue.
Follow the onscreen instructions and—if prompted—type a description of the problem into the text field.
Click Submit to have your issue reviewed.
    Have a great day!

  • Download error - Unable to Download episode

Hi, I purchased Season 2 of Justified, and am only downloading an episode at a time. I noticed that 2 episodes in the middle of the season, appeared to have started downloading, but I stopped them in the Downloading Section. However they were still showing up in the Video App, yet I cannot side swipe to delete. They want to open up to begin to play, but then I get an error that I do not have access to the content. Back in iTunes downloading section, I tap to download and get the message that is in my subject line. I cant even repurchase them.
Any ideas on how i can fix this? I did reboot, but that was all I tried. Thanks much! Anne

  • Bought a TV season and only some episodes downloaded where remaining had "download error" on iPad 1

Bought a TV season and only some episodes downloaded where remaining had "download error" on iPad 1? Tried many times for few days with no use. Tried restarting too. Device has enough memory too!

Because of the error message, I'm not sure if any of this will work, but I suppose it's worth a shot.
Sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to resume the downloads.
If the TV shows appear at all in the videos app - did you try tapping and holding down on the icons to see if the X to delete pops up? Is there any evidence of the stalled downloads on the iPad in the videos app? If you could delte them, you might be able to resume the downloads.
If you live in the U.S., Canada, The UK or Australia, TV shows can be downloaded again at no charge as long as you use the same Apple ID.

  • Show all available episodes of a subscribed podcast without downloading?

I have the podcasts I am subscribed to set to automatically download any new episodes, and automatically delete them once they have been listened to/watched.  This works well enough, but when they are deleted, those particular episodes are no longer listed in the available episodes.  I know I can click "show all available episodes", but when I do that, they are automatically downloaded again.  iTunes apparently thinks they are new, and that I haven't listened to them yet.  Is there any way to maintain a current list of all available episodes in my subscribed podcasts?  There are older episodes (ones that haven't been downloaded since I have subscribed) still in the list, that iTunes apparently doesn't consider new, but any that have been downloaded and listened to since subscribing, are removed from the list when auto-deleted, and I can't get them back in the list without them being automatically downloaded again.  I hope this makes sense.  I tried to contact apple support, and the guy that replied had no idea what I was talking about.  I would appreciate any help.  Thanks a lot.

I think you misunderstood my question.  What I want to do is have ALL available episodes in the list, even the ones that I have downloaded (automatically because I am subscribed), listened to, and deleted (also automatically because I have it set to delete played episodes).  I just want a complete list of episodes including the ones I have already heard, but those episodes, once auto-deleted, are no longer listed, and if I "show all available podcasts", they are downloaded again.

  • I bought the season 7 pass for Doctor Who, but the new episodes are not showing up for download.  Who can I contact to find out why?

I bought the season 7 pass for Doctore Who, but the new episodes are not showing up for download.  I've been all over the support page, I even looked up my purchase history and there is are none showing and I even bought last weeks episode, The Bell's of St. John.   Who can I contact to find out why I'm not getting the rest of season 7 for download?
    Thanks,

Garmin is sending you to Apple because it is Apple that would have to give you a refund as the actual point of sale.  However, Apple states all sales are final.
Apple is sending you to Garmin because it is Garmin's fault their maps are out of date and Apple doesn't write the software.  They may not even be looking that deeply and simply perceiving it as a programming "bug" it is up to Garmin to solve.
Who know whose fault it is that Garmin isn't getting up to date data to put in their maps.
Ultimately I think you stand the best chance in getting a refund from Apple though it isn't guaranteed.  Apple is the cashier.  You just have to convince them this isn't just a line of code omitted from an application and isn't something that will be soon corrected by Garmin.  Make it clear it isn't a problem with the application running on your device, it is a problem with the data it contains.  Either that or you have to hope Garmin will feel so bad about it they will delve down into their slush fund and send you a refund.

You need to buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD, which requires an Intel Mac with at least 1GB of RAM, and to install the 10.6.8 combo updater.

  • Downloading 5 rented tv episodes of Glee...stuck on download error thoughts?

I can not get the 5 episodes of Glee I rented to Download .Keeps saying Download error.Have tried rebooting, making more room on iphone 4 etc nothing works. I've done this before and worked great. Any thoughts?

You can always finish the downloads in iTunes on your computer and then the TV Shows to the iPad. Launch iTunes and go to Store>Check for available downloads. Finish the downloads and then sync the iPad.
As far as trying to finish the downloads on the iPad .....
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to download again.

  • TV Shows Season Pass New Episodes Gone from Check for Available Downloads

I was informed today from iTunes Support that new episodes that become available will no longer come through the Store > Check for Available Downloads option in iTunes.  If you notice in your email alerts for the new episode's availability, it now says the new episode is found in your Purchased items in Itunes in the Cloud.
I was also told that if I checked the options "show iTunes Purchases in the Cloud" in iTunes > Preferences > Store tab, that I could just see the new episodes in my Library under TV Shows.  I used to have this option and could access the new episodes and download them this way, but that option is now GONE as well from iTunes.  I am awaiting feedback from my Senior Support Rep as to what is wrong there.
I have been simply going to the iTunes Store > Purchased > TV Shows and clicking the "Not on this computer" option in the upper right.  I have to go show by show and click "Download" or "Download All".  I have almost 15 Season Passes at any one time.  This is a completely horrible way of downloading them.
When the new episodes were evailable via the "Check for Available Downloads" Option, I had my iMac scheduled to restart every morning around 4am Central.  That was about 2 hours after the date/time stamp of the email notifications.  Since iTunes was always set to start at login, it would automatically check for available downloads, and then download all the new episodes.  I then had a cloning process scheduled that would clone my primary iTunes Media drive to a backup iTunes Media drive.  That way if one fails I always have an up to date copy.
This new method totally screws up how slick this whole process worked.  I understand streaming and the cloud is the direction they are taking here, but this is completely an about face.  I want the new episodes available locally.  I want it downloaded when I am asleep and always available locally when I want to watch.  That way I dont have to worry about my internet availability.  Storm can knockout my internet.  The construction down the road can cut the optical cable.  I may loose my internet due to a problem with the ISP.  Having the files locally allows me to watch them worry free, buffer free, and when I want to.
I urge those who are annoyed by this change to provide feedback here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html
I really hope this decision to remove this functionality is not a sign to come.  Next I will be downloading each song one by one when I buy an album because I can just stream it in the cloud.
I love my Apple products and servies.  But this totally makes me hate them right now.

I am so angry right now I can not even see straight.  So the "Show iTunes Purchases Option" out of the blue showed up in iTunes this morning. I dont know if a reboot fixed it or what. But the attached screen shows the lack of that feature along with the iTunes version.
So I am not freaking crazy.  So I turned it on this morning to pick up 3 new episodes.  I get home tonigth and sit down on my couch with my Apple TV ready to roll... and it has completely screwed my "watched" vs "unwatched" episodes.  I come to my iTunes library on my iMac and sure enough TV Shows and Movies I know I have not watched or started are marked as watched.
I have not watched a single episode of The Following Season 1, and it basically shows I have watched all but the latest 4 shows.   I have not watched the last several episodes of Revenge, and it says I have not watched only the last episode.  I am guessing as to where I left off, but it looks like Episode 13 was the last episode I watched and iTunes said I had only not watched Episode 19.  Vikings Season 1 - I have not watched a single show, but it shows I have watched all but the last 2 episodes, 8 & 9.
Movies - I have bought and downloaded many movies that I have not watched as of yet.  For instance: Django Unchainted, and all 3 Matrix Movies.  I have watched a couple of the Matrix movies but not all the way through.  But I had gone back and marked them as "unwatched"  Everything else I had not even touched to hit play or nothing.  These are all purchases.
I hunted down all the episodes and movies I knew I had not watched... which took me quite a while... and then when I close and re-open iTunes and at least the watched/unwatched TV shows stayed as I marked them.  This was not the case when this feature was first rolled out with iTunes 11.  That is exactly why I never used this feature in the first place.  Time will tell if it remains stable with the watch/unwatched situation.
Regardless, I am so tired of taking time out of my day and writing iTunes support and giving Apple feedback so they can perhaps look into it and see if its a larger issue than just my library.  So they can also maybe realize that some of us actually love their product and want to see them continue to working awesome, slick, and incredible. But as someone who is looking at 8 active season passes.... I may never buy a season pass from iTunes again.  The reason why EVERYONE still has a TV antenna and/or cable is because the basic concept of how you watch the programming DOESNT CHANGE.   They should take this feedback simply as TV shows are not like Movies and Music.  TV shows happen weekly.  Having a consistent and repeatable process to get the shows and watch them each week is paramount.
I am usually very good with change and enhancements.  But this one.... has completely made me an irate Apple Customer.

  • HT204266 I have purchased a licence for a series of episodes, but why has one not downloaded?

I recently bought the licence to have the episodes of Episodes sownlaoded as they became available.  And yet these are not showing on my purchases, although I have all but one episode thus far, and the new (complete my series) option doesn't see it.  Where has it gone, how do I select a single episode to either download or redownload as necessary?

Sometimes things have inconsistent labeling.  Check your Recently Added playlist.

  • HT201359 Refund sought for online episodes that take too long to download

If you purchase episodes online through itunes, then discover it is going to take 10 hours to download each episode, can you cancel your order and get a refund?

Ask your Internet Provider. It can depend on many things. What program are you using to download the movie?

  • I purchased season one of the TV series Justified, however one episode is corrupt and will not download and I have alread paid for the full season. How can I resolve this problem?

Will I get a refund I really just want the missing episode.  What a rip!

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not downloading properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entry, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)

  • I have purchased a full tv series of episodes.  When I try to download them, it downloads as Juan's the first few minutes of each episode.  I have tried to download several times...connection to Internet seems strong.  What am I doing wrong?

I have purchased a tv series from iTunes for Mac..  When I try to download either the episodes individually or the entire series all I get are the first minute or so of each.  What am I doing wrong?  ( My Internet connect is strong and good.)

    first, try this:
Choose Authorize Computer from the Store menu. The server will recognize you are reauthorizing and not count your computer a second time.
if that doesn't work, then try this:
    Quit iTunes.
In Terminal, go to /Users/Shared/ and rename the "SC Info" folder to something else.
Run iTunes, and do the authorize as mentioned above.
please let me know if this helps.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Are you sure they are available yet. You may have bought a season pass, which means they will download once they are available.
