Fox digital copy movie won't import into Itunes.

I have Itunes version 11.0.2 and I am trying to import a Fox digital copy of a movie into Itunes, however every time I double click to import I receive the error message that it "requires Itunes version 7.6.2 or newer" and requests that I update Itunes.  Is there a way to import using digital copy (I own the disk and have the serial number for transfer) or is the only way to do this to rip the dvd the old fashioned way?  I wanted to use digital copy for convenience but, if it won't work I can use the other method.

Ah, found out that I should not use the pop up window from the disc.  Instead, opened Itunes, selected the movie disc, entered the code to redeem and then it copied the movie.

  • Videos won't import into iTunes 7

I want to put some of my own videos onto my new iPod video, but I can't put any videos into iTunes. I've tried dragging and dropping, "import" and "add file". And nothign ever shows up. How am I suppossed to put video into itunes that I don't buy from the iTunes store? Thanks for the help.

This also happens with me. I have an Intel Core Duo 17", running iTunes 7.1 with the latest Quicktime, and OS 10.4.4. My movies work great in Quicktime, but won't import into iTunes at all. When I try to drop them on my iPod directly, it tells me that my 5th gen iPod can't display video.
I brought my iPod into work today, and hooked it up to the G5/dual 1.8 tower here, also running iTunes 7, and quicktime (7.1.3 I think?), OS 10.3.9. I was able to drop the videos directly into iTunes, and they showed up fine. I was also able to then put the video on my iPod.
As for the video, I converted them to .mp4 files with a 3rd party converter from .mpg files.
Interested to see what the solution is. Glad I'm not the only one with this problem!

  • HT1473 It seems like many commercial music CDs won't import into iTunes (copy protection?), so you can only play them from the disc, not your other devices. Am I missing something?

More and more commercial music CDs won't seem to import into iTunes - they just spin, falter, and spit out. I would think I had a setting wrong except older CDs load with no problem. I'm guessing there's copy protection on the newer ones, which seems unfair if you want to, say, buy a CD that has bonus material not available via iTunes (and then have to buy the regular material again on iTunes). Is there a way around this? An easy fix so I can keep buying CDs when I want to? I know it's a technology that's on the way out, but it's not gone yet.

Audio CD copy protection is relatively rare. I doubt its use is on the increase as it would be just one more nail in CD's coffin. On the few occasions I've bought CDs that won't rip I've gone straight back to the store for a refund. If the drive is attempting to read at max. speed it might help to force it to read slower (if indeed you have that as an option) and it may help to switch the error correction mode.

  • Movie won't import into iPhoto

Hi. I have a Canon Powershot A570. Up till now, I've never had any problems importing movies/images from this camera or previous Powershots to my Mac using iPhoto. However, this time, all the movies/images were imported from my SD card except one--a movie in AVI format that's about a minute long. I have repeatedly tried to import this movie, but to no avail. Each time, iPhoto begins the process normally, but then after a couple of minutes, it just stops importing without giving any error messages. Does anyone have any idea why I can't import this movie? Thanks for any help.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
I don't know why it happens, but I have the same experience with longer videos and iPhoto 6. If iPhoto won't import a movie, the solution is to launch Image Capture (in your Applications folder) and use it upload. You can choose "Download Some" and then preview the files on your camera. Select the clip and import it to a Desktop folder. Don't believe the importing progress meter - it goes from nothing to 100% with no indication of how long you should wait. I've found that if I'm patient the clip will upload fully. Once on the Desktop I've had no trouble getting iPhoto to import it to the library.
    Regards.

  • Movie won't import into iDVD

So I'm putting a couple movies onto iDVD and one just won't import. It's 46 minutes long and I'm thinking that may be the problem because the second movie is only 8 minutes and it imports just fine. I've converted the longer movie to AVI and WMV and it still won't import. The only thing I can think of is it's too long and iDVD doesn't like it. Is there something else I'm missing?

Maybe try Visual Hub or Mpegstreamclip if you haven't already:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/mpegstreamclip.html
    That or Roxio Toast.

  • My MPEG1 movies won't import into iMovie

I have two cameras. My Canon saves the movies in .AVI format and is able to import and be edited in iMovie. However, my new Sony H9 camera saves them in MPEG1 Muxed (have no idea what that means but inspector said it was that format). I can't open that one in iMovie. HELP!!! Anyone know how to get around it in anyway (either saving the movie in a different format on the camera or while it downloads from the camera onto the computer, or how to get iMovie to import them)?

I also have a sony camera and cannot use imovie unless I purchase something else to change file formats! Why would imovie not allow mpegs to be brought in? Maybe they could come up with a software update that would allow us to use their program with mpegs! I am very disappointed that I cannot use imovie unless I purchase another program.

  • Movie won't load into itunes

Coverted a movie to .mv4 using Handbrake - as i have done successfully before but this time
when I ask to add the movie to itunes (menu) or drag/drop from the finder into the itunes window
itunes simply ignores the request - no error message it just doesn't pick it up.
Similarly, if i double click the movie to play in itunes it is just ignored.
It will pick up and play in Quicktime.
If i click on itunes from the Quicktime menu (share - itunes) it gives 3 options: iphone, apple TV, and Computer
Computer is not available (not sure if this is relevant as it's already on my computer so probably that's all its telling me)
The only thing I did different with Handbrake was to select High rather than Normal quality
    - but the file is only 3GB so not excessive for a movie
Can't think of anything else to add - running itunes 10 with latest updates installed.
Any suggestion with where i should go next?
    Cheers....

3GB for a movie? That's almost equivalent to an original DVD.
Have you checked in the Recently Added playlist?
I think this is possibly linear.  Select 'normal' in HB, iTunes accepts it; select 'high quality' in HB iTunes doesn't.  I can't say why; I don't have any video that anywhere approaches 3GB in size.  If that's how iTunes behaves I don't see you have too many options.  You either select normal and it works, or you select HQ and live with playing the movie outside of iTunes.
I won't ask what movie because any help with illegally ripped copy protected DVDs is strictly prohibited by the Terms of Use so I'm assuming this is a 6 hour video of your puppy playing on the floor.

  • Old playlists won't import into iTunes 9

I have upgraded to Version 9. Somehow all my playlists, (about 5 years worth) are in a file titled "Previous Playlist Libraries" in the section of my HD under users> my name> music> iTunes along with my other iTunes stuff.
I have tried several times to use the procedure in Article HT1451, "How to recreate your iTunes library and playlists". This put everything in my Version 9 iTunes that was in my older Version 8 iTunes except these Playlists.
I also tried to add them to my iTunes 9 using "Add to Library" under File and Library>Import Playlist under File. I receive an error message reading "the file does not appear to be a valid exported file"
The icon for each of these unmovable playlist files is a sheet of paper with a turned down corner and a music note on it. Get Info calls these files an "iTunes Database File".
How can I get these these playlists into Version 9?
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Walter

Sorry for all the trouble...it looks like I may have a corrupted external hard drive...Realized there are some backup folders on the drive that are corrupted and won't open. Thinking this may have had an effect on some of the music files, more than likely.
These were the steps that I have tried:
    *Drag & drop
    *File/add to library
    *De-authorizing all computers; re-authorizing computer
*Giving read/write permissions from music folder and everything inside
    *Rebooting
*Deleting iTunes; Reinstalling and attempting to import music
*Have tried on both a G4 Tower & MacBook Pro
*Setting up a new member to my mac, with full administrative rights
For the albums that I have the physical CD, it will let me import those (good news). However, for those albums that I've downloaded from iTunes, I obviously don't have a back-up method to import those from.
    So, here's to repurchasing music.

  • Is Fox Digital Copy available in Sweden through iTunes?

After being bouncing mails back and forth with Fox Digital Copy Support the last days and still not got any reply to the simple question "Is Fox Digital Copy movies available for iTunes users in Sweden" I thought I could as for any finding here.
If you visit the Fox Digital Copy web-site http://www.foxdigitalcopy.com/ and check US, UK and Australian they all say that iTunes and Apple devices are supported. If you go to Swedish, Danish, Finnish or Norwegian - only Windows-based devices are supported.
I have sent screen-shots to Fox Support from their own web-site and specifically asked if *Apple-based devices in Sweden are supported*, but they still suggest I should go back to the place I bought the BluRay containing the Digital Copy disk and ask for a replacement. If the replacement disk does not work they suggest I should replace my optical device... (the drive rips disks file and isn't running modified firmware or anything else):
+Yes digital copy works with iTunes works outside of the U.S, there may be an incompatibility with the disc and your optical device, or the disc may be faulty, if possible we recommend that you return the copy to place of purchase for an exchange.
    FOX Digital Copy Support+
The problem I have is that when I insert the disk iTunes does not recognize it nor asks for the serial-number. I have tried the suggestions from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1539?viewlocale=en_US without any luck...
    Any clues?

Not supported in Sweden. Sorry for wasting bandwidth. Windows-based players are supported in Sweden, so I'll guess I have to by a Zune then....

I have an iMac 27" and am trying to import some videos of a friends wedding into iMovie however one of the movies won't import. It doesn't say why or give any error message or codes.
All of the other movies on the card download with out a problem. The movie in question is not 'corrupt' as you can watch it in iMovie direct from the SD card but as soon as you try to import it, it  just says 'error'. iIve tried moving the file to an external drive ( and other variations on this theme) then importing but have had no luck.
    Can anyone please help me.

    The mystery remains....
Thanks for the pointers. The file type is .mts (a proprietry sony one).
I have now found some video converter software (Wondershare and iSkysoft) at a cost. Either will convert this file for me into .mp4. This I can then import into iMovie without any problems. I've checked this on the trial versions and it worked well but without paying am left with a giant watermark in the video
The mystery (which I still havent solved) is why did 20 other .mts files import fine and then this one not?
If you could point me in the direction of some free .mts converter software that would be the cherry on the cake.
    Thanks

  • Movie import into iTunes library

    Hi all,
I have a very large collection of DVDs - it's one of the first technologies I actually got into early...I'm usually late to the game, so to speak.
Anyway, given that I'm moving everything to a digital format for use on my plethora of Macs and Apple TVs, I thought I'd use something like HandBrake to rip my discs and import into iTunes.
Is this is preferrable or common method?  Is there some better way?
Secondarily, any way to get content info (Get Info stuff) that is similar to what you see when you purchase a movie from iTunes?  I'm thinking about rating stuff, brief plot, etc.
As always, thanks for your collective genius.

  • I have 1000  photos in an iPhoto Library that won't import into Photos because it says the metadata can't be read.  Yet those JPG files open just fine in iPhoto, GraphicConverter, et al.  What gives?

It’s part of the basic install of OS X. So unless you deleted it then it’s there in your apps folder. If you have deleted it, it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. You will be able to extract the installation package using Pacifist.
Alternatively, if you’re using almost any camera +apart from a Canon+ then the camera card is visible on the desktop and you can drag the movie to the desktop using the Finder and import from there.
No matter what camera you use, if you pop the card from it into a USB Card Reader then it will be accessible via the Finder. Card Readers are inexpensive and all round a better idea.
    Why use a Card Reader?
Because it’s safer: Less risk of your images being lost if your camera shuts down during transfer.
Because it saves the battery on your camera
Because it saves wear and tear on your camera ports
    Because it’s almost always faster.

  • After effects animation Codec won't import into FCP

    Hi
I have used After Effects to do a green screen key on some HD 1080i footage.
I then went to export - quicktime movie - animation
I understand that the animation codec is the only way to export with an alpha channel so that I can put other footage in after my nice green screen key.
I set quality to best and frame rate to 25, I also tried frame rate as current and it exports and plays back fine in quicktime movie player, but won't import into final Cut.
The error message is "wrong frame rate"
Does anyone have any suggestions? I am quite new to after effects and wonder if there is something wrong with the way it is seeing the footage as I shot in widescreen and the image is squeezed as for a 4:3 TV aspect ratio.
    Thanks.
    Ajay

    1. Check your AE composition settings (cmd-k) and be sure your frame rate is set to 25... AE uses the frane rate of your composition and not the settings in your export module...
    2. Do not use the "export" command in AE... that is used only for special purposes only (i.e. for using "quicktime exporto compnents" not available under the export queue)...
    3. use the "make movie" or "add to export queue" command instead
    4. You expot module should be set as:
    - best settings
    - animation + alpha
do not specify any frame rate in the export module!! AE automatically uses the frame rate in your composition settings!!
    5. Export and import into fcp...
I never had problems with AE animation+alpha and fcp 6.0.1
