Fox Soccer Channe/ FSC Plus Any Comment from Verizon

In an otherwise excellent offering, I personally find Verizon to be absolutely clueless and off the mark with regard to FSC/FSC Plus
FSC is offered in basic and FSC Plus is available for $14.99/month in standard def only. Not only is the picture in standard def, it is one of the poorest quality, most highly compressed picture quality of any standard def channel in the entire lineup.
When will this be addressed Verizon?
DirectTV - FSC offered in HD
Dish Network FSC offered in HD, FSC Plus offered in HD for $14.99/month
Cablevision FSC HD part of basic, FSC Plus HD offered with $6.99/month sports package
At $14.99/month the combination of poor qualty standard def and high cost for such poor quality is frankly insulting to your customers given the other options out there. Otherwise, FIOS is a wonderful product but when will this be fixed? The most expensive and poorest picture quality channel in the lineup at the same time.

I agree that BET may get better ratings, but not having BET in HD will not cause many people to leave FIOS for another provider compared to many people I already know that have left FIOS for a provider that already carries FSC and/or GOL TV in HD. How many people do you see beggin for BET in HD on this forum and on twitter (esp compared to those wanting the sports channels they watch in HD)? Not many because BET in SD on a large LCD TV doesn't look too bad, but FSC or FSC + in SD look horrible. I think most people are upset that Verizon is not communicating with those of us that pay so much money each month about any kind of timeline for expanding its HD offerings. We were all told by Twitter Joe (@fiostv) back in the Fall that FSC was next to go to HD. Then a couple of weeks ago he came out with BET is next and FSC is after that. I think most of us would agree that if we knew a general timeline (doesn't have to be a specfic date, but rather 1st quarter, 2nd quarter, etc.) of when FSC will come in HD we would be more satisified. Instead it's been nearly 12 months since FSC has been available in HD (and the European season 2/3's over and CL coming to a close soon) and we still have no idea when we will be able to get it on FIOS.

Fox Networks is planning to relaunch its Fox Soccer Channel as an FX-branded entertainment cable network, a sibling to the cable network that airs Sons Of Anarchy, Louie and It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia. The remaining soccer programming on Fox Soccer Channel is expected to be folded into Fox’s planned national sports cable network, tentatively named Fox Sports 1, that would compete with ESPN. A spokesman for Fox Networks said in a statement, “We are constantly evaluating our programming offerings and this is just one notion we have considered over the past year or so,” declining further comment.

This new model would be an excellent compromise between what I would like in our primary phone and want my wife wants for her use on occassions when it is necessary.
I know nothing about Pantech from the standpoint of reputation for quality, durability and support but the features of this particular model are appealing. I like the Moto Karma but can appreciate my wifes concerns over size of keys for her use as a straight phone but I do use the internet via cell phone and a strtaight "dumbphone" is far more difficult to use entering usernames and passwords I need for the sites I most frequently visit.

Any Comments from Folks with New MacBook Pros?

Just wondering for those of you who have been lucky enough to get your hands on one of the new MB Pros... What are your thoughts? I think it may be time for me to upgrade my original Core Duo MacBook. Although... as much of a Mac fan that I am... I have PC notebooks as well (the last of which I got just a few months ago). I just have to decide if I should go with a new 13.3" and take the chance of getting kicked out by my better half for bringing home another notebook. The base model would probably be okay for me... but I'd probably go for the 2.53GHz model.

Fox Soccer Plus not in HD?

So, I'm paying $15 per month for the Fox Soccer Plus channel (rolled over from Setanta) and the UEFA magazine is on, says 'Fox Soccer Plus HD' in the upper right corner, and yet - it is not in HD! What gives?
I must say, that I only anted up for Setanta for the rugby, most notably the Six Nation tournament. And now it appears that I am paying the same amount for a supposed HD channel that is not in HD, and it seems that they also won't be continuing coverage of the Six Nations (at least not according to their programming to date). So a double whammy, which means I am highly likely to cancel if I don't get an answer on the HD. Certainly can't justify $15 for no HD AND no Six Nations.

Of course they ignore these forums. It says right at the top that this is a peer-to-peer forum. There is no official Verizon presence here at all. If you want offical Verizon, follow at the twitter or use the contact us section.
As for the FSC in HD, THEY ARE UNDER NEGOCIATIONS FOR THE CHANNEL. That was the official response, and that is ALL they can say about it. As long as they are under negociations they cannot provide ANY further info. They are required to stay silent about it. They WANT to carry it but they have to get permission to do so. That is the hold up.

Facebook apparently has their site coded poorly for tablets with touch screens. Try using the Facebook app. It is not perfect either but it is better than view in a browser lately.

Why is Fox Soccer Plus not in HD?

Verizon charges $14.99/mo for Fox Soccer Plus and even with a subscription, the channel is SD. Will this change? How is it decided whether a channel is HD or SD?

Did you buy anything from the App Store? All of those stores are connected to the iTunes Store so that's probably why you got something that said iTunes on it.
If you bought an app, for example, that was $30 you'll probably see "iTunes Store" on the receipt.

See below our experiences; we've been using JHeadstart since end of June this year, starting with release candidate 3.
We have intensively used the JAG and done some simple tests on JDG.

1. The learning curve? How easy is it to use, how complete is the documentation?Both for java developers as for 'traditional' Oracle developers JAG basic usage has a very low learning curve. Whenever you want to
do complex stuff you do need more advanced Java and XML skills. The hard thing with developing these kind of apps is
that it requires lots of different skills, which are very hard to find in one developer. Our approach is to add a specialist in
each area to the team. Also a good line-of-communication with Oracle Consulting helps. Documentation is very good,
however if you are used to using CDM you might still miss some more detailed standards and guidelines.
2. Does it deliver on the promised productivity gains?Depends on what you are used to.
It delivers great productivity gains for java developers. In my experience in the java world it is the development
environment that for productivity comes closest to developing with Designer+Forms+Headstart. But be aware that
like in Designer for special purposes you might need to develop your own generic processes. This has to be done
only once and that is your productivity gain. Also the JHeadstart team is constantly expanding the set of reusable
processes and the UI features.
To be able to develop more advanced applications you do need a thorough understanding of the underlying
Oracle frameworks (MVC, BC4J and UIX). The more experienced you are in these areas, the more flexible and more
powerfull the applications become that you can develop.
3. Is the software robust to use or is it buggy - JAG, JDG?JAG and property editors are very robust...no problems whatsoever. JDG?
4. Is the generated code robust?Yes
5. Is the generated code readable/maintainable?Yes, and this is very important since a lot of post generation (post JAG) adjustments need to be done.
6. Is it value for money or could you achieve similar gains yourself?Definitely, you would not be able to generate a first iteration for data driven component based java
internet applications yourself without having a whole bunch of very very experienced java developers
and UML goeroes in your team.
7. Is the generated code 'open'?What do you mean? JAG generates java classes (resource handlers) and xml files (service definitions
and uix pages which contain page definition in xml format). All these files are yours to adjust. Of course
the classes use imports from the three above mentioned Oracle frameworks (BC4J, UIX and MVC). In
the developers guide it is described how to change e.g. the View layer from UIX to JSP. All layers implement
interfaces which are open and very well documented. In the future I expect JHeadstart to support more open
standards beside JSP like Struts for Controller and EJB, Toplink for the Model layer. When compared to
Forms...it is definitely more open and easier to integrate with other technologies. For example we are
currently testing integration with SAP R/3 systems.
8. Is support of the generated code a lock-in to Oracle, either of JDev / BC4J / OC4J / MVC FrameworksDevelopment:
For maintenance and compilation you need BC4J libs which are shipped with JDeveloper, of course you can
edit sources with any IDE. MVC libs and UIX libs are shipped with JHeadstart.
Runtime:
Generated code runs on any J2EE 1.2 compliant application server (our test apps run on SAP WAS, Oracle OC4J
and Tomcat without any code changes).
As said I expect that in the future more open frameworks will be supported. And yes, JDeveloper makes life easier if
you plan to use JHeadstart.
9. Do you plan to continue with MVC Frameworks or use Struts when available? Depending on your server landscape, skills in your team and availability of JHeadstart support for Struts.
Right now MVC Framework is the way we go. When Struts is available I would study the differences (licenses,
support, performance, abilties) and decide then.
10. Is the software only suitable for data-centric web applications development?That's where we used it. What type of apps would you like to develop?
11. Would you recommend it?Yes

Fox Soccer Plus HD cut-in on FiOS 584 last night

Anyone else notice a 5 minute cut-in of Fox Soccer Plus in HD on the Fox Soccer channel (FiOS 584) last night around 10:20pm EST? I was watching the replay of Man United vs. Cluj and for a short span the Chelsea vs. Nordsjaelland replay replaced the feed. It was also in HD and had the Fox Soccer Plus logo in the upper right corner.

My All-In-One 6500A Plus won't print any color from IE (v8.0). I can print all colors from Word, PDF documents, photos, etc. - but not from ANY web page. At first it only printed Magenta ink, now it acts as if it's printing (feeds the paper, moves the print heads across the page and sounds like it's printing) but the paper comes out blank every time. If I change the print options to print grayscale and only use black ink, I can get a black only image of the web site.
As I said, ALL OTHER APPLICATIONS PRINT FINE. ONLY WEB PAGES WON'T PRINT, so please don't tell me it's the ink cartridges. ;-)

Can we pause to reconsider for a moment that it costs $14.99/month to subscribe? How do you expect a customer to pay more for a non-HD channel? Its one channel we are talking about...introduce pre-order subscriptions to identify demand and increase capactiy? This should no longer be overlooked!!!

How to retrieve comments from one OfficeTask activity and use them in another OfficeTask activity for Multi level Approval sequential Workflow

I'm designing a sequential site workflow using Visual Studio 2010 for Project Server 2010. In my case, I have following 6 stages in the workflow:
1. InitialProposal Stage
2. Approval Stage1 -- Needs approval from Approver Project Security Group Members1
3. Rejection Stage
4. Approval Stage2 -- Needs approval from Approver Project Security Group Members 2
5. Execution Stage
6. Completed Stage
Requirement is workflow should move to Approval stage2 from Approval stage1 if approved by all members of Approver Project Security Group1and it should move to Rejection Stage even if a single member rejects it.
Workflow should move from Approval Stage2 to Execution Stage if approved by all members of Approver Project Security Group2 and it should move back to Approval Stage1 on rejection by a single member of the group.
I'm using inbuilt PSWApproval content type and OfficeTask activity for creating approval task for the group members at both stages.
On task rejected in Approval stage2, task will be assigned again to Approval Stage1 and I want to show comments given by members of Approver Project Security Group2 to the members of Approver Project Security Group1 with this assigned task
but I'm not able to retrieve comments from officeTask activity.
My question is where exactly these comments are saved? how can we retrieve them and use them in another officetask activity? If this is not possible then what is the possible solution for meeting above mentioned business requirement?

By comments field I'm assuming OfficeTask.Comments field. Problem is, this field is always null. I tried accessing this field in CheckExitCondition activity as well as in OnTaskCompleted but in both the cases, it was null only(I wrote comments while approving
the task).
I used a code activity within OnTaskCompleted activity and following code for accessing Comments and Description fields:
