Foxfire 3.6 slow to load and slow to respond to clicks on keypad mouse

I am using a dell latitude d410. Sometimes when I click on the icon to open foxfire, it seems to me nothing is happening. So, I click again. Then two or three foxfire windows are open.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

  • When I open firefox 4 beta the webpage does not load and i am unable to click on any buttons or access menus

This has only started happening today. When I start firefox 4 beta it opens and begins to load my homepage (google.co.uk) but the page never fully loads and firefox freezes. I am unable to click on any buttons on the navigation bar or access menus. Keyboard shortcuts are also unresponsive.
All that I am able to do on the browser is to use the three window buttons in the top right of the screen (minimise, maximise and close).
After closing the window if I try to open it again I get a message saying that Firefox is already running, but not responding. Once going into task manager and stopping firefox under the processes tab and then restarting firefox the window again freezes as soon as it opens.
I have tried restarting my computer and reinstalling the beta but with no success. I am still able to use firefox 3.6.13 as well as chrome with no problems.
Any help would be much appreciated

I had this too. Starting firefox in safe-mode and disabling all add-ons solved the problem. After re-enabling all add-ons did not bring back the problem.

  • My mouse and trackpad arent responding the click on finder, i can use multitouch but not 1 touch. Aswell when i go to the findertab at the bottum with the mouse, app icons Does Not expand.

My trackpad is responding the click on finder, i can use multitouch but not leftclick/1 click/touch. Aswell when i go to the findertab at the bottom with the mouse, app icons Does Not expand. I had no problems with it before, but I'm very confused.

Not using any mouse pad, I have a very smooth desktop. But I just tried to use a sheet of A4 printing paper, but no result, the problem persisted.
Someone on this forum suggested, that USB3 may interfere with the magic mouse.
I have 2 LaCie HDD's about 70 cm away from the mouse, I use them on Thunderbolt. But in operation or not - the result is the same, the mouse plays up! Just now I was clicking the desktop and the mouse created a new folder!!
    Thanks for the advice, Bee
    Cheers, Gerd

  • Firefox is now hard to load, and no matter what I click on for a web page, or even my mail I get the connection was reset and I have to hit the try again button 5 - 6 times usually to get the page to load.

I updated internet explorer also changing my server provider so that my web page contact emails would go thru. I have quest broadband and could not use my yahoo accounts as they are not compatible, had me open a q.com email will transfer to outlook for my web pages. That all works, but now firefox is acting up.

Many business users chose to use the downgrade option to XP until Windows 7 had been out awhile longer ,which may be what happened on your machine. Where I work, most all of the machines still run XP.
Recovery Disks contain the OS and all drivers/software for a specific model. A plain Windows disk contains just the OS.Not sure which you have, but a true Recovery Disk set will not work on any machine.
It really sounds like you have a Windows Repair disk which requires a backup image to repair an installation.Could you confirm what exact disk you have?

  • When trying to download a program I am not given the option to run the program only to save or cancel. a pop up screen appears the download is loaded and I have to double click on it to actually download it into my computer. Is this normal

I switched from using IE and when downloading programs through there a windows always popped up asking to run save or cancel the file. With Firefox it only gives me the option to save or cancel and when pressing save a pop up window appears and the file is then downloaded to that. Then I have to go to it and double click to run it. I do not always want to save everything only run some things. Is there a way to change this. it seems like I am double downloading, first to the pop up window then into my computer instead of straight into my computer. is there a faster better way to download. This also eats up my download allowance from my internet satellite company this way.

  • When connecting to the internet, there is a delay of several seconds before the tabs load and open (sometimes have to click on a tab to get things started).

    Internet speed = 2.7 Mbits/sec; this problem started with the new firefox update; operating system is Windows 7 (64bit); this problem doesn't happen with Explorer;

Okay, I found the solution. I simply restarted my computer, and the problem has gone away...so far.

  • Recent upgrade using mac totally freezes - no menu to choose and doesn't respond to clicks or typing.

Just had FF4 update on Mac (OS 10.6). Upon opening, I can get first web page and that is all. After about 10 secs it freezes/ hangs. The menu disappears with the exception of the file menu. When I go to preferences section I can see the rest of the menus, but the moment I am done in preferences section the other menus disappears.
In addition, I can't open any new tabs or windows. Basically can't do anything and I am leaning towards reinstalling FF3.
    What's gone wrong?

    > The laptop is 6 months old, on warranty, with original software and I treat it gently (never fell etc). The nearest authorized service is way to far from my place and I can't be left without the computer right now (exams session). What can I do to check the laptop by myself (I don't mean dismantling, i'm a girl)? Maybe some software that I could run and it will report any errors? Any ideas what that sound was?
Such sound could be developed by different parts.
Generally its not easy to say whats wrong exactly.
In most cases we can only assume (like the user pyoc1_1 ) but this are only own, personal suggestions.
The strange sound could be developed by HDD or by cooling module.
Like Luke suggested, the HDD can be tested using the software Drive Fitness Test but the cooling modules can be tested just only by a Toshiba ASP.
I understand that the nearest ASP is far away but I think you should still contact the guys in order to get more details how to handle this issue. I mean the notebook is covered by warranty so everything should be done for free.
I would strongly recommend containing the ASP in your country.

I just created a new profile/user on my MacBook Pro. My pointer/mouse on my trackpad. It works fine in my older user profile, but when I go to the new profile my mac will not respond to clicks. The Mouse moves but will not click. Already tried restarting and the pram zap. The problem starts when I log out of my main profile. I get to the login screen and my laptop stops responding to clicks. When I manage to make my way back to my main profile the mouse works perfectly.  Should I just delete the new profile and try again?

If the modem is also a router, either use the modem in bridge and run pppoe client on the TC.. that is assuming ADSL or similar eg vdsl. If it is cable service.. and the modem is a router, then bridge the TC.. go to internet page and select connect by ethernet and below that set connection sharing to bridge.
Please tell us more about the modem if the above gives you issues.

  • Firefox is slow to load and view pages and repeated "Firefox is not responding" message

Firefox is quite slow to load and view pages with and I keep getting the "Firefox is not responding" message.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to install for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • PS CC 2014 very slow to load and operate after 2014.2 update

I updated my Photoshop CC 2014 64bit today.  It was working perfectly up to the update.  Since the update, PSCC 2014 has been very, very slow to load and slow in use.  I have uninstalled PS used the PS Cleaner and reinstalled through CC Desktop.  The speed problem remains.  Interestingly, 3D is the Menu feature that seems to take the longest to load.  In other words, the program eventually loads, but 3D appears 6 or 7 seconds later.  I don't know if this is significant.  The setup was working fine up to the update.
Grateful for any ideas about what may be the problem and what I can do about it.
My system is a 3770K, with 32Gb ram, x4 SSDs one dedicated to OS and programs and the others to data, and an Asus GTX660 (2Gb) graphics card.  I am using the latest driver from the Nvidia site.  OS is Windows 7 64bit.
I am getting no error messages - just great sluggishness.
    Thanks.

Sorry for the delay in responding.  I had to get some sleep.
Changing "sniffer" made no difference I'm afraid.  I have put it back to "sniffer.exe" having tried reopening with "~sniffer" twice with no success.
Resources.  The maximum cpu resource used during the period from clicking the desktop icon to the menus in the program becoming usable is 23%.
At the end of the splash screen when "initializing panels" is briefly on the splash screen, the line for the resource meter for the cpu went red and said "not responding" - the red disappeared once the workspace was active:

  • Unexpected loading and unloading of BusinessObjects DLL's slows down app.

    Hi all,
I have a dev laptop, and a client tabletpc.
In my application I preload a report to get a faster initial view of the report I'm using.
I noticed very slow preloading on my clientmachine. This doesn't happen on my dev. machine.
I did some observations and my true question is: What is going on and how can I fix it??
    Extra info:
    - Notice the unloading and loading of BusinessObjects dll's that occurs on the client machine but doesn't happen on the development machine.
    - I installed CR Runtime 2008 SP1 on the client machine.
    - The dev machine has CR2008 installed.
    My observations:
The output on my dev. machine during the preloading (truncated because of thread length limitation):

    Kind regards,

    Hi Ludek,
I found out that the slow loading time was caused by dll's who connect to crl.verisign.net.
Our firewall blocked those requests without response so this caused an additional +-1 min. loading time.
There are also some connections to thawte.com. I'm not sure if they are related to CR. Maybe Janus is the cause of this (also a 3rd party tool I use).
    Simular issue: http://bonkel.wordpress.com/2008/11/18/crystal-reports-slow-load-using-net-c-setdatasource/
I found some solutions on the internet (As for our solution: I'm still discussing this internally which will be the best option. Option 2 works ((tested)) but we are evaluating the security issues ...):
There are four possible workarounds to avoid the delays of not being able to reach the certificate provider's server
    1.      Provide access to the VeriSign web server, by providing an open Internet connection and opening up the system's firewall to allow the VeriSign server query to succeed.
    2.      Disable Certificate Revocation Checking for the entire system. This can be accomplished by unchecking the "Check for publisheru2019s certificate revocation" option on the Advanced tab of Internet Options. Internet Options can be accessed the Control Panel or from the Tools menu item of the Internet Explorer browser.
    3.      Manually download the Certificate Revocation List from VeriSign at crl.verisign.com and install it on the system. The CRL is valid only for 10-15 days, so unless the system is able to update the file after this time, the same issue will be encountered in the future.
    4.      Use versions of the assemblies that are not digitally signed. This is the solution suggested most highly by Infragistics Developer Support. The release build of NetAdvantage for .NET 2007 Volume 1 for CLR 2.0 (version 7.1.20071.40) did not have a non-digitally signed version of the assemblies. Starting with the first hotfix build (version 7.1.20071.1045), the assemblies installed are not digitally-signed, and versions of the assemblies that are digitally-signed are stored in the "ASP.NET\Bin - Signed", "ASP.NET\APTCA - Signed" (for allowing partially-trusted callers), and "Windows Forms\Bin - Signed" subfolders of the installation directory.
As far as I know are the requests for CRL info the true cause of the slow loading (and not the loading/unloading of the dll's itself).
So as far as I'm concerned, this case is closed
    Kind regards,
    Wim

  • Too much memory consumed while my 3D scene is load and it becomes too slow

    Sir
i have made a room in java 3D by using Box class and lighting etc.
i have converted the 3D Studio Max files (.3ds) into the .obj file and used the ObjectFile Loader to import it.
    All things are imported well.
But the main problem arises when my scene is loaded and i revolve my camera in the room too much flickering comes in that.
I have also laoded textures on walls and objects.
Also it consumes about 80 to 90 Mb of memory space.
when i increase the objects memory also increases.
Tell me how i can handle this memory problem. and also to handle the flickering.
I want to use that room in applet and want to use it on net. So if this problem stills there then how clients should see it.
Please reply as soon as possible

    Hello,
I don't know what geometric primitive is generated by the 3DSLoader.
In fact triangles are always better, graphic cards love them.
In particular TriangleStripArray primitive. (TriangleArray is slower !)
So, for a quick answer, I would suggest you to :
( - verify your graphic card driver, but I suppose it's OK )
    - use OpenGL version of Java3d if it's not already the case
    - take a look in 3DSLoader and see what primitive it is using ; It is possible to triangulate and stripifiate (see GeometryInfo and Stripifier) if the geometry do not match.
    - verify if you can reuse memory in your scene (same Appearance for multiple objects for example)
    Some performance considerations:
