Foxfire 6.0 add-ons manager not working, says "loading", get nothing, now what?
Just received an update and some add-ons were disabled. Clicked on "Tools", "add-ons". Tab opens and says "Loading" but nothing loads and I can't do anything with add-ons manager. Is there a fix?
Thanks for the suggestions. When you click on Tools and then Add-ons, theAdd-on Manager launches, and by default "Get Add Ons" is selected. Although I was not getting any response other than "Loading", if I then click on Extensions or Appearance or Plugins, I was getting a proper response from those three. After doing that and closing out Add-ons Manager and then relaunching it, my original problem disappeared. Now everything works fine. I tested it multiple times and is still OK. Can't explain it but OK for now. Maybe the Get Add-ons portion of the Web site was down at the times I was testing it? I'll keep a watch on it. Thanks for your speedy reply.

i'm using firefox version 6 and for the last three days the add-ons manager page won't load. my question is why won't the add-ons page load? is the server down on your end?
Click on something below the Get Add-ons menu item on the left side of the Add-ons Manager tab.

Add-ons manager not loading since I updated Firefox yesterday, right?
I updated Firefox yesterday when the update was offered. Now the add-ons manager (accessed from the tools menu) hangs. It says loading and the icon spins, but it never completes the load. I am running on a Mac. Thanks.
This fix is not working for me. It just spins and spins and I cannot see my Add-ons list. It is difficult to imagine why clicking 'Get Add-ons', which sets off a process requiring interaction with a remote database, should cure a problem with the Extensions list, which presumably sits locally.

FireFox 3.6.9 Add-ons window not working, add-ons not loading
After upgrade add-ons do not load.
In Add-ons window, no data; all add-ons disappeared;.
Also clicking < Browse all Add-ons > produces nothing, does not link to site.
Navigate toa site to download an add-on: Add-ons window appears but no data or appearance of files or anything. So< Install> button therefore does nothing. You can delete the files extensions.* (extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry. New files will be created when required.
See "Corrupt extension files": http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_install_themes_or_extensions
If you see disabled extensions that are not compatible on the next start in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the "Find Updates" button to do a compatibility check. -
Adobe acrobat add ons does not work with latest firefox
I have been using firefox because of my adobe acrobat add ons.. I alwasy convert pages to adobe pdf using my acrobat. It works with firefox 4.0 but it does not work anymore with latest firefox.
Can you help me with this?Maybe if you read about privacy, policy and sharing of data you'd change your mind. But it was reported that it appeared to work if you used something like the "Add-ons Compatibility Reporter".
You can force 5.0 "compatibility" with the "[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/ Add-on Compatibility Reporter]" extension, or with [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Extensions.checkCompatibility extensions.checkCompatibility] using about:addons.

My add-ons appear in Tools Add-Ons. They are all enabled. But they are not working, including Greasemonkey. Then, Firefox does not respond and hangs.
What the heck is going on with this new version of Firefox? It is one problem after another. There may be more problems that I have not yet discovered. Is it possible to revert to the old version? The current version of Greasemonkey is compatible with Firefox 29. Could you check to make sure it is not turned off? There should be a "monkey" icon on the toolbar. Clicking that icon turns Greasemonkey on and off; the "off" state is designated by a faded icon, while the "on" state has a full-colored icon.
More generally, could you check for possible extension updates and disable unimportant extensions in case one of those conflicts with Firefox?
Open the Add-ons page using either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, look for the "gear" button above the list and choose Check for Updates.
I also suggest disabling any extensions you won't be using for the next 24 hours so that you can test whether that improves Firefox's functioning.
Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Any difference?
One possible reason for hangs, especially where you eventually get a dialog indicating that a script is running slowly, is Flash. To minimize sites from using Flash unnecessarily, try setting Flash to Click-to-Play ("Ask to Activate"). This will delay Flash from starting on a page until you approve it.
On the Add-ons page, in the left column, click Plugins. Look for "Shockwave Flash" and change "Always Activate" to "Ask to Activate".
When you visit a site that wants to use the Flash, you should see a notification icon in the address bar and one of the following: a link in a black rectangle in the page or an infobar sliding down between the toolbar area and the page.
Any noticeable difference? -

Many add-ons do not work when upgraded to Firefox 3.6.10 on mac
After upgrading to v3.6.10, my Firefox kept on crashing when I attempted to open the app. I had thought that it could be a particular wrong move to install a recently-added new plug-in iMacros to the browser.
However, after around 8 attempts at reinstallation with individual plugins/add-ons (eg. Xmarks, etc), Firefox was unable to startup. From my attempts, I believe it might be some error with the new version that might clash with the other plugins that were previously installed.
I hope some solution can help solve this problem as I would like to try out the new 3.6.10, but since I don't have the previous installer, I have to resort to using a back-dated 3.5.5 version of Firefox.Glad to hear I am not alone in this. Same time frame too. But at 11 pm on 15.10 equally suddenly firefox started working again, and now seems fine.
Errr?
(glad I have Safari to fall back on)
The aspxerrorpath has disappeared from the header.

Download maanger add on manager not working
Hello I am running Mozilla Firefox 17.0.1 on win xp pro
It seems updating to ver 17 has stopped my ad-on-manager from doing anything other than loading, have tried click on extensions and other tabs, can see current installed plugins only but search for any just keeps spinning.
Along with this Download manager dos not pop up in a separate window and is blank when or after trying to download something. Tried changing download folder - no luck at all so cant even downgrade my version of firefox.
Any help would be appreciatedAlso: The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

If you would like to save a listing of the add-ons, important modified preferences/settings etc. to quickly replicate the previous profile, please '''Copy all to clipboard''' (on the left of the reset button), and paste it into Office Excel, or OpenOffice/LibreOffice Calc, or notepad. However, it would be a good idea to check for the existence of the issue immediately after the reset. Also, it would be a good idea to install the add-ons/extensions/toolbars via the Search bar (top right) in Firefox '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Add-ons''', or from [https://addons.mozilla.org/ AMO]. -

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try some of the following programs to scan for malware:

[email protected]Hi,
I have tried all of the above.
I think it is a registry issue, need to "regedit" the registry.
Any advice on that?
Both DWer8 and EMgr1.7 have been installed and reinstalled 2 times.
I have about 50 Extensions.

I have been instructed to:
"When you open Firefox up in the left hand corner there is a drop down box that says "Firefox". Click on this and go to add-ons a new page will open with tabs on the side.
Click on ADD-ONS, use ADD-ON Manager...."
That does not happen that way. (I am on Firefox 19.0 for MAC.)
When I click on Firefox (left hand corner at top of screen) "ADD-ONS" does NOT appear.
I get "preferences" and "services" plus, of course ABOUT/HIDE/SHOW/QUIT choices.
Running through ALL choices in PREFERENCES (which was not included as a step in your description) I find NO WAY to "deal with" ADD-ONS in General, Security, Privacy or Advanced.
"services" says only NO SERVICES APPLY"
I KNOW that I have an "ADD-ON Manager" I can open that. The ADD-ON that I need to REMOVE/Uninstall/Disable does NOT show there.
It is an ICON on the lowest level of my toolbars showing above my window. Whether this is an awesome bar, or any other specially named bar I can't tell you, but: LOWEST section.
This creepy ADD-ON (that I never personally installed) is called PRICEGONG - and it is now opening up a pop-up on all my eBay pages and elsewhere -trying to sell me things.
It is wasting SO much of my time and I need to get it gone.
WHAT do I do now? The PRICEGONG company has explanation of what to do to uninstall, but (no surprise) THEIR instructions/steps do not match reality either. RESULT: I can't get RID of this thing and am wasting huge amounts of time now with it.
WHAT CAN I DO?hello, the addons manager is exactly the right place to look for it. please try disabling the addons that are listed there one-by-one (a restart of the browser might be necessary after each step). maybe one of them is bundling this kind of adware.

I have Adobe flash player version 10.2.152.32 installed and Adobe has released version 10.2.3.1 so why is the add-ons manager not detecting that an update is available?
Adobe Flash is not an add-on, it's a plug-in and you have to use the Plug-in Check to check for updates:

Add-ons Manager Says Java Needs Update, But Latest Version Already Installed
I have Java version SE7 U51 10.51.2.13 installed and working fine. Today I "upgraded" to FF 28.0. Now the Add-Ons Manager says Java is out-of-date, but when I go to the Java website, this is the very latest version available. I downloaded both the 32- and 64-bit versions anyway (though I had already installed them a month ago) and re-installed both. The FF Add-Ons Manager still has same warning: "Vulnerable- Update Now!" The Java Test page says I have the latest version, and it works.
So what the heck to do?Never mind- found the answer. It's the same old silly runaround between Firefox and Oracle. The Firefox link send you to the wrong Java version (outdated) and you have to find the correct Oracle webpage that now has Java version 8 (actually v.1.8.0 plug in 11.0.2.132) and download and install THAT. It would be nice if this were simpler...
