FP 10 working-Lost flashplayer on all browsers and websites
I had this same problem when upgrading to Flashplayer 10.
1. I uninstalled Flashplayer 10 with all browsers closed
2. Uninsraleed dowload Mngr because it seemed to be adding an HELP file iwasn't requesting
3. Went back and installed 10 with only Adobe's site open on browser i was using
4. WHATCH the file name and hit cancel if it is the hlp file- i hit three time and Adobe's site said Installation Sucessful
All browsers and sites are playibr now
I have a similar selective problem.
I'm running Flash 10.1.102.64 and it will play BBC and YouTube.
I also have flash files built using V6 and more recently V8.
Files built using V6 still display ok, however, neither firefox nor chrome will play files built using version 8. It preloads them up to 100% then disappears. Also, it looks like it has killed Aleo Flash Slideshow and Gallery Maker, which compile version 8 swf's, so I can't even go back and recompile them down to V6.
The V9 stand-alone player works fine with these files, so it looks like Flash 10 kills Flash 8 and any program that tries to load it up.

Muse-built site on business catalyst isn't loading on all browsers and devices
My muse-built site on business catalyst isn't loading on all browsers and devices e.g. the full-screen video widget doesn't load or play, the scrolling doesn't work. Any advice? The site is gulch.businesscatalyst.com
Once you add the domain to Business Catalyst and finish all the DNS delegation steps listed in the article for launching a site on BC, your old site will no longer load and users will go to the new BC site. Your old hosting then could be discontinued with whichever vender you used. Be aware that DNS can sometimes take 24 hours to fully propogate so you should wait to make sure that things are all loading properly. -j

How to fit all browsers and monitor sizes?
Hi there.
Wondering if there is a code that I can paste on a snippet, that would allows
the size of the site (margins and background image) to fit to all sizes of different browsers/ different monitors?
Thanks!I don't mean to have something that could fit from a laptop to a mobile phone.
Just a site with a background image that would keep its margins fixed when seen through different browsers
and monitors of mainstream computer, let's say all browsers and mac laptops. -
flash player 11 is very glitchy on ALL browsers and makes my CPU usage 100%, making all youtube and pandora or any streaming media a headache, i have a low-end but good quality Emachine with Windows 7 Sv pk. 1, AMD Athalon Processor 2650e 1.6 GHz 2GB ram 32-bit, which isn't that bad, it used to play HD videos and everything without a skip or lag, it is virus clean, and clean of any large bulky programs, the only thing that went wrong was the fact that the adobe flash updates slowly but surely made it worse, AND it will not let me roll-back to an older version anymore like it used to, so WTF is up? no one seems to have an answer for this, and it seems like ADOBE is doing everything in it's power to not let me ask this question or get it solved, maybe it's because I AM TOO SMART FOR IT AND KNOW IT'S A FAILURE. so please, anyone who actually has a degree in this field is welcome, but no BS anymore, i want answers.

Message was edited by: siniousThe jump to FP11 was pretty significant with Stage3D. Now Flash Player has a lower level access to your computers GPU to offload playing video and 3d rendering to the GPU. However if your systems GPU isn't up to the task you really won't see that performance gain.
Enter H264 video decoding. A large segment of the Flash usage market is simply viewing video. For sites without fallback in mind (or don't mind software rendering fallback), video may suffer. Using the GPU accelerated video classes may make it difficult for your system to view playback. Disabling hardware acceleration as recommended above would revert you back to software (CPU) decoding to check if your system itself is the issue (and not all the new GPU additions). You did that yet you're still having an issue.
Just to clarify, as I have an eMachine (for accounting), your computer is very much in the "budget" margin. You have a 3 year old single core 1.6ghz AM2 CPU with 512kb of L2. That's the K8 series. This is a very underpowered, single thread loving CPU. Only the most optimized Flash sites and lower end videos (720p or below) should play, but I'm not even sure if they'll "play well". It depends on your GPU.
Also you should know they have an official list of unsupported chipsets and drivers based on many factors. Here's a list for FP11 and AIR3:
http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/stage3d-unsupported-chipsets-drivers-flash.html
Check the bottom of the screen to see what Flash is reporting your rendering mode is. For example, mine states:
Your gpu supports Stage3D in both Baseline and Constrained profile!
Baseline RenderMode:
DirectX9
Constrained RenderMode:
DirectX9 (Baseline Constrained)
This probably won't get better in the future for you. Flash is not a low end multimedia runtime. It does require and utilize high end hardware in a much more reliable way. -
Does adobe muse allow me to create a website that is responsive across all browsers and all devices?
We do not suport responsive layouts currently, instead you can design mobile specific (and tablet specific) layouts in an easy fashion. http://helpx.adobe.com/muse/tutorials/creating-mobile-layout-designs-muse.html -j

My macbook pro's screen display has suddenly gone into a strange colour setting where everything appears in a kind of infrared colour palette an I can;t seem to change it back. It's the same for all icon and websites, does anyone know how to restore?
Wow! I think I had this same issue just last night.
I was cleaning my macbook pro retina on the outside. Then I opened it up and was wiping dust off the monitor and I can't pinpoint exactly when, but the colors changed suddenly. It looked super strange, it was like green halo's and it looked worse when looking at it at an angle. Of course I took no pictures!!! I was freaking out that my 2 grand laptop was busted and I somehow removed a protective film or something.
But I digress... The image looked very green and spacey, it was almost a neat effect. After about 5 minutes it started to look a little more digital though. There were straight lines of this halo effect on the edges and top. After about 10 minutes it turned into a predominate issue with the blacks on screen. I could open a web browser and it was unnoticable on a white background. After about 15 minutes, you could only barely see the green cloud effect if you looked at the monitor from an extreme angle. After about 20 minutes, it was completely back to normal, I almost feel paranoid like I see a halo or something strange. But I believe that might be all in my head now.
So yerp, lemme know what you guys figure out. -
Flash Crashes across all browsers and recent fatal errors
This problem has basicly been going on for years and my operating system has been resintalled a couple of times before but basicly the problem is that adobe flash player (and Microsoft Silverlight) would crash a browser (IE, Chrome, and Firefox) often. I have tried the fixes ive read about but they didnt seem to work so I just decided to put up with it until I began getting fatal errors. I had my hardware checked out and there are no problems with and all my drivers are up to date.
Flash: 11.5.502.135
Windows 7 (64-bit)
HD 5570 and HD 6870 (upgraded from one to the other but problem still occurs)
Like I said I usually try to put up with flash (and silverlight) crashing my browser but now they crash the browse so badly it forces a bugcheck (or blue screen of death). I have tried to reload my operating system, then updated my drivers, and then in clean boot mode I still get pretty nasty crashes. I think the problem is within one of my drivers but I cant pinpoint which driver is the culprit.

DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION (c4)
A device driver attempting to corrupt the system has been caught. This is
because the driver was specified in the registry as being suspect (by the
administrator) and the kernel has enabled substantial checking of this driver.
If the driver attempts to corrupt the system, bugchecks 0xC4, 0xC1 and 0xA will
be among the most commonly seen crashes.

Subject: Flash Player Flash Plug-in Crashes across all browsers despite
re-install
I support a bunch of Mac users and one of them (10.5.7 MBP) ran into this same
problem last week with both Safari and Firefox crashing with the flash player
plugin. If I removed the Flash Player plugin and the .xpt file there was no
crashing but no flash either. I used a combination of different suggestions and
here's what finally worked (so far anyway):
Show package contents for Firefox/Contents/MacOS/components and Get Info
changing perms for read/write for everyone.
Re-installed shockwave plugin using the customized full install (this made no
sense to me since I had made no change to shockwave but as I was testing the
browsers I was prompted to install it, so I did)
Repaired permissions
The version of the Flash Player plugin that ended up installed on this Mac is
10.0.12.36. I started off installing the newer and recommended 10.0.22.87
version but it didn't fix anything. I inadvertently went backwards as I moved
plugins in and out of the Library. I didn't want to change anything once it was
working so I left it at the older version. I hope this helps someone else. -
Lost an app, all photos and contacts
Hello Fellow Apple users,
As we are all excited about iOS 5, (and so was I) i took peer pressure and upgraded, there are good and bad things to this!
1. I lost all my photos
2. I lost a paid app
Now photos is most distressing, the app is not too big a deal, i checked itunes and my iPod touch (4th Gen. 32GB) and it wasn't there, i checked my itunes, not there, i checked the media folder, not there (app is called Pocket God if meaning anything) and as such, i have lost it, now before i upgraded to iOS 5, i had trouble updating it (everything was fine when it was 4.3.3, the ipod) and every time i went to update it, it came up with my mum's apple ID (she bought the app) and despite the fact that i signed in & out, it still didnt change, now, all that fixed because of iOS 5. or did it? anyways, whats happened, is being the idiot i am, i didn't back up before iOS 5, and so i lost my photos, contacts etc. and i wondered, can i get them back? or are they gone forever? the app store problem for, so far is ok, it works, but the fact i lost all my pics is so SOO distressing, so i tried to sync, and check all my backups, but they were all after iOS 5 update, so i think i lost them all, as well as my app, Pocket God, which has completely disappeared fromy my PC (Windows 7) Itunes (10.2 i think) And iPod (32GB, 5.0) and this is all just s distressing, could anyone help????- If the photos were synced to the iPod and they are not on the computer they are gone since synced photos are not part of the backup that iTunes makes as the first step of the backup.
- Similar for apps, if the apps are not on the computer when the update is made the app, they are not on the iPod after theupdate since the apps themselves (data is) are not in the backup.
- Yo have to be singed into the accont that purchased the app to update the app. If you have more than one app to update and they were purchased with different accounts, you can't use the Update All but have to update individually untill the ones left were purchased from one account. -
Pop Up Problems with all browsers and operating systems
I have a website that uses pop up windows in several areas.
They have worked fine for over two years. All of a sudden none of
my popups work. I tested on both a mac and a pc and on firefox,
explorer and safari. Pop up blocker has nothing to do with this
problem. I'm completely dumbfounded.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Good grief - all one line.... That's why it's not working.

Problems uploading files across all browsers and wifi connections?
Hello
I've been having a bit of a strange issue with my MacBook Pro lately, it seems to have problems with uploading images/files onto certain websites. Two recent occasions have been failure to upload image content when signed into the admin area of my business website, as well as failng to upload a .pdf to a business card printing company.
When I try to upload content to certain websites, I get an animated uploading bar from said website's interface, which just stays looping and never finishes the upload, seemingly stuck uploading for all eternity!
I am having this problem on Safari, Firefox AND Chrome. I have cleared the cookies, caches, history etc. on all browsers in an attempt to fix the issue with no luck. I have also tried all three browsers on various wifi networks with no luck.
I know it is not an issue with the websites, since having this problem I have used other computers on the same various wifi networks which have uploaded the content immediately with no problems.
I have performed software update and everything is as up to date as can be! I don't know what else to try, any suggestions?Run a free ClamXav scan on your entire hard drive.

The outgoing mail server on my desktop just stopped working - i have checked all of the settings and everything seems to be correct - any suggestions?
Are these the settings you are using?
Setting up your Verizon Online email with Mac OS X Mail
Start OS X Mail.
From the Mail menu, select Preferences.
Click Add Account.
Click the Account Information tab.
From the Account Type menu, select POP.
In the Description field, enter a name for this account.
In the Email Address field, enter your Verizon Online email address (format is [email protected]).
Type pop.verizon.net in the Incoming Mail Server field.
In the User Name field, enter your Verizon Online user name.
In the Password field, enter your Verizon Online password.
From the Outgoing Mail Server menu, select New.
The SMTP Server Options screen appears.
Type smtp.verizon.net in the Outgoing Mail Server field.
Note: Leave all other settings in the SMTP Server Options screen with their default settings.
Click OK. -
I received a 'bogus' email saying I had a virus and to click to scan my entire OS. I did not click - I trashed the email.
I wanted to empty my cache but couldn't find it (OS 8.10.8.5) -- In the main menu, under Safari, the only thing I found was to select preferences, then privacy -- where a window showed an option of removing some or all cookies and other website data.
Is that what I should do or is there a cache somewhere on the laptop?
ThanksYou were scammed. There's nothing wrong with your computer. You don't need to empty the cache.
Helpful Links Regarding Malware Problems
If you are having an immediate problem with ads popping up see The Safe Mac » Adware Removal Guide and AdwareMedic. If you require anti-virus protection Thomas Reed recommends using ClamXAV. (Thank you to Thomas Reed for this recommendation.)
Open Safari, select Preferences from the Safari menu. Click on Extensions icon in the toolbar. Disable all Extensions. If this stops your problem, then re-enable them one by one until the problem returns. Now remove that extension as it is causing the problem.
The following comes from user stevejobsfan0123. I have made minor changes to adapt to this presentation.
Fix Some Browser Pop-ups That Take Over Safari.
Common pop-ups include a message saying the government has seized your computer and you must pay to have it released (often called "Moneypak"), or a phony message saying that your computer has been infected, and you need to call a tech support number (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it resolved. First, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and your computer has not been affected. This "hijack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so do not pay any money, call the listed number, or provide any personal information. This article will outline the solution to dismiss the pop-up.
Quit Safari
Usually, these pop-ups will not go away by either clicking "OK" or "Cancel." Furthermore, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in gray, including the option to quit Safari. You will likely have to force quit Safari. To do this, press Command + option + esc, select Safari, and press Force Quit.
Relaunch Safari
If you relaunch Safari, the page will reopen. To prevent this from happening, hold down the 'Shift' key while opening Safari. This will prevent windows from the last time Safari was running from reopening.
This will not work in all cases. The shift key must be held at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window reappears. In these circumstances, after force quitting Safari, turn off Wi-Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then relaunch Safari normally. It will try to reload the malicious webpage, but without a connection, it won't be able to. Navigate away from that page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com, and trying to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet, and the page you entered will appear rather than the malicious one. -
Flash 10.1 not working on selected webpages (all browsers)
I'll admit I'm at my wits end when it comes to this problem. I have done all of the most logical and most suggested methods to try and fix it, to no avail. I don't recall when this problem started, unfortunately, but it hasn't always been a problem.
First, my basic specs.
HP Pavilion d4600y
Windows XP-Home Edition
Firefox 3.6.8, IE 7.0, Chrome 5.0.375
Webroot SpySweeper with Anti-virus
I also run WinPatrol, and Ad-Aware.
I have done a clean uninstall and reinstall of both Flash and Shockwave, to no avail.
I can't discern any noticeable pattern between which websites work, and which ones don't. YouTube, Google Video, Megavideo all work. ESPN and selected other sites don't.
The same sets of sites work and don't work in all 3 browsers listed above, which really makes me think it's a Flash problem.
Any help is much appreciated.
Cheers,
CameronHi Vinny, LOL, I had the right thread, just the wrong link!! I was on several sites researching and that google link was one of them but didn't intend to post it to you:-)

On that FF, I couldn't find anything helpful on the forum there. I think I'll look elsewhere.

Original demonstration videos were CP4, I converted them to CP5 and added audio. Preview mode displays everything as intended. When publishing to a local location in .exe or .swf just displays a window where the movie should be playing but it is completely black. Audio begins to play but stops at the same time the screen goes black. I uninstalled and reinstalled Flash Player 10. I have attempted modifying the Quality settings from high (24 bit) to low (8 bit) but that didn't change anything.
I have successfully upgraded and published previous CP4 ot CP5 videos. Unsure as to why the last 3 video upgrades I tried are failing.
If anyone can offer any assistance, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks, JulieExcellent, thank you. I apologize for any inconvenience. I searced all topics for black screen and found nothing; then discovered a few topics right on the front page that were related.
Thanks again for the quick response. Published output works. -
Have cleared all history, cache, and cookies. Have a Mac running Lion OS X 10.7.3 and Firefox 10.0. This website works fine on a PC and Mac with Safari.
Opening in the side bar is the default for bookmarks that are created via a link or button on a website.<br />
You can check the Properties of a bookmark via the right-click context menu in the side bar (Ctrl+B; Cmd+B on Mac).<br />
In the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) you can click the More button in the Details pane at the bottom right.<br />
Make sure that "Load this bookmark in the side bar" is not selected.
