FP-1000and FP-AI-110 power supply

Hello there,
I just set up my first FieldPoint unit and have a question concerning  the recommended Power Supply:
When I read the FP-1000 QuickStartGuide , page 16, I thougt , there is no other way supplying  the  FP-AI-110 module but
by another external power supply .
But It seems , that the FP-AI-110 module is supplied by the internal bus, wihtout cascading power by the terminal. (See attached picture, where only the network module is connected to
an external Power supply )
So which way is recommended by NI ? Input Voltages at the analog module are limitede to max 5V.
Greetings
Beethoven

Hi!
I have in my lab FP-DI-301 and FP-DO-401.  All works, even if I don't cascade V-C terminals, except the output module don't drive their outputs! I mean, V-C are used from output module to actually feed the output current/voltage.  The power/Ready leds lights also with V-C not cascaded because the "logic" part of the modules derive power from backplane.  Also the I/O interfacing circuits work, in fact I can see inputs even without V-C connected.  This holds when the whole system has the same power supply.
Taking a look at FP-AI-110 manual, "Voltage and current inputs are referenced to the COM terminals, which are internally connected to each other and to the C  terminals. All eight VSUP terminals are internally connected to each other and to the V terminals." and "The [c]FP-AI-110 has eight single-ended input channels. All eight channels share a common ground reference that is isolated from other modules in the FieldPoint system.".  So, I guess, you may refer your inputs to another system, with separated commons.  That's why you are told to connect V-C.

  • Where can I get an EU power supply for my late 2009 mac mini

I have a late 2009 mac mini.  The power supply is good for US voltage only.  The new mac mini specs say they can accept 110 - 220 VAC, 50-60 Hz.  Will one of these new power supplies work with my older mini?  Where can I get one, can't seem to locate on the Apple online store.  Moving to France and don't want to leave my mac behind!
    Thanks,

you could get something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Energizer-XP18000-Universal-External-Netbooks/dp/B002K8M9H C
it's about the same cost as an extra battery used to be. there's a range of similiar products at Amazon, i'd check reviews.

  • Sending command strings to a Sorensen (Ametek / Xantrex) power supply model XDL 35-5TP

    Hi all,
I am using the above mentioned power suply to control test units during end of line tests.  I can do all the normal funtions through the manufacturers supplied library of vi's.  The problem is, I need to make sure the voltage being seen by the unit under test is correct and therefor am using the remote sense function on the power supply.  Essentially this runs a pair of sense leads to the point of measurement and allows the power supply to compensate for any voltage drop that is seen in the circuit.
As I am on the downstream side of a solid state relay with the sense leads, I need to cycle the remote sense function so that it is not trying to compensate when the SSR is off (sense would read zero volts and try to run the voltage up to compensate for what it sees as a loss)
The attached diagram shows how I am trying to send the command using the supplied Write Data vi but the power supply never responds to the command.  I have tried different commands with no success and am hoping there is someone that has run across this to give me a hint as to what I am doing wrong.
    Any assistance is much appeciated

Code is attached including the TQLP library.  The manual states that white space (spaces) are ignored so it does not matter if they are present or not.  I will include that section of the manual as well and near the end of that it shows the syntax for the SENSE command that I am trying to use.

  • Power Supply... I'm an idiot! Help!

After going through the hassle of having my Ideacenter K220 shipped from the US, I made an elementary error and plugged it in to the 220V while set on 110V. I double checked the box to make sure the supply would accept the 220V, I just neglected to flip the manual switch. Mea Culpa. There was a loud pop from the pack of the tower and the apartment's power died.
A quick review of online troubleshooting guides quickly let me know the error. Now I know the power supply is dead, but I have two questions:
First, is there any chance of further damage to the system from this error? Most advice I saw said that there would have to be a flaw with the PSU or a lightning strike, and that the pop I heard was a part breaking which also sheltered the rest of the system.
Second, is it possible to now switch to 220V and use the PSU? I luckily have a Lenovo shop down the street, and can get a new PSU easily, but I was curious if the unit is completely ruined, or if the 220V and 110V circuits might be separate, and while I ruined the 110 the 220 might still work.
    Thanks!

Connect the iPod to the computer. When it appears in iTunes, if using iTunes 7, select the iPod and then click the Music tab. If using iTunes 6 or earlier, go to edit-->preferences and select the iPod tab, then the music tab.
Make sure the iPod is set to automatically update all songs and playlists. Click Apply/OK.
If it is always stopping at the same song, try removing that song from the library.

  • Can I use the power supply from a 1.83GHz CD mini with a new 2.53GHz mini?

Because I'm too lazy to remove the old power supply, I just want to swap out my old mini for my new one.

I did this for a month, for the same reason as you. Both power supplies are are 110 watts -- although you can double-check that, if you like.
Eventually I did make the change, I guess because I didn't want to put "new wine in old skins".

  • Slimline S5-1060 auto power supply switching

I just recently move to Australia from the US and brought my slimline s5-1060 with me.  I think I can just plug it in to the Australian 240v system with a proper plug adapter or changing out the cord .  The sticker for the power supply is below.  Can you tell me if it is safe to plug in to the Australian power system.  There is no little red switch from 110 to 220 like I have seen in the past on previous desktop computers.  Thank you for your help.

    Hi,
I can't read the label on the power supply.  However, if it indicates 120/240 volts and 50-60 cycles then you should be OK as most of the new power supplies are auto sensing and no longer require a voltage switch.
You can further review the power supply specifications here.

  • Qosmio X505-88* - US/EU power supply

Does anyone know if the X505-88* models can be used in EU power grid with a socket adapter? Does the laptops power supply accept 110 / 230 V ?
I plan to purchase a model from US and use it in EU too.
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks Xardas for the anwser. I have another Toshiba laptop (different series) bought from EU and has both voltages on the A/C. I am going to buy the Qosmio online so i am not able to check the A/C before. But just now i have downloaded the detailed specs for the laptop and it says it accepts both. Don't know why i didn't thought of that before :).

  • Mac Pro power supply. Is it possible to change from 110V to 240v

I recently found out that I'll be relocating from New York, USA to London, UK. Does anyone know if it's possible change the input voltage of a mac pro from the 110 volts used in the US to the 240 volts used in the United Kingdom? or should I just rely on a step up/down voltage converter?

    Hi and welcome to Discussions,
taken from the MacPro tech specs http://support.apple.com/kb/SP11
    *Electrical and environmental requirements*
    ENERGY STAR configurations available
Line voltage: 100-120V AC or 200-240V AC (wide-range power supply input voltage)
Frequency: 50Hz to 60Hz single phase
Current: Maximum of 12A (low-voltage range) or 6A (high-voltage range)
    Operating temperature: 50° to 95° F (10° to 35° C)
    Storage temperature: -40° to 116° F (-40° to 47° C)
Relative humidity: 5% to 95% noncondensing
    Maximum altitude: 10,000 feet
So no converter needed, just a different power-plug connector.
And a hearty welcome to the 'old-world'

  • A question regards to power supply to my b520

i bought my lenovo b520 in the usa(110volts) and brought it to israel(220volts).
on the back of the screen it is written  100-127/200-240.
does it mean that inside the computer there is a transformator between 110 to 220,and i just need to get the right plug?
OR, that i have to purchase a transformtor?
    thank you

I would expect it to be universal volage too, but found this in the Lenovo IdeaCentre B5 Safety and Warranty Guide V4.1:
    Voltage-selection switch
Some computers are equipped with a voltage-selection switch located near the
power-cord connection point on the computer. If your computer has a voltageselection
switch, ensure that you set the switch to match the voltage available at
your electrical outlet. Setting the voltage-selection switch incorrectly can cause
    permanent damage to the computer.
If your computer does not have a voltage-selection switch, your computer is
designed to operate only at the voltage provided in the country or region where the
    computer was originally purchased.
Unless the power supply legend actually says 100-240v or a document that came with the machine says it's OK, I'd not plug it in to 220V power.

  • Using UK power supply internationally

    Hi,
I have a recent (jan 2010) MBP from the UK. I will need to use this machine in Brazil, I'm wondering if I need a full step-down transformer or just a power adapter?
Any advice or experiences would be appreciated.

I've used mine all over the world and it's just fine - It'll work 110 thru 240v with just the appropriate adapter.
The only thing I would add though is that if you depend on your laptop for your trip - photos/work etc. then take a spare power supply.
I've had two pop on me when I've been in less accessible areas with poorer quality of power. Just to be clear before I get hit by the Apple boys I'm sure the issue was with local power quality rather than the units themselves.

  • Is WRT1900AC power supply 110v only?

For those who have this does it say "110v" or "110-240v" on the power brick?
    Cheers
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It is a standard 100-240V switching power supply.
I can't think of the last time I saw one that didn't support all AC voltages.
However, what is really, really stupid, bordering on asinine, is the length of the removable power cable from the supply to the wall socket. It's less than 21 inches (~52cm). Seriously, it's completely useless. I had to use a power cable from something else I had laying around so it would, combined with the permanently attached cable that plugs into the router, reach to the top of the bookshelf that I have the router on (for the best wireless range) from the wall socket.
The power cable barely reaches to the ground from the wall socket, it's that short.

It should work fine for a single card, but I would look more toward a single rail higher end psu. IE: Corsair AX , HX or enthusiast series.
