FP1600 loses network connection after a few hours

My FP1600 loses its network connection after a few hours. It is part number 185690C-01, with firmware 4.11. I am running FieldPoint Explorer version 3.0.1 and LabView 6.1 from Windows XP Professional. I set it up, and everything runs fine for 4 hours or more. I do not have the network watchdog enabled, and the FP1600 is in constant communication with the host computer in any case. Sometime in the middle of the night the communication is lost. The FP1600 link light
is on, and it is still receiving packets, but it will not respond to a ping or any other communications. Only a power cycle brings it back. The FP1600 is sitting right next to the host computer, both attached to the same network switch. There is no interruptio
n of network services to the two.

Hi Heinz,
We are also trying to troubleshoot this same problem (Intermitten network connection loss with FP1600 Ethernet Module - Error code "33163", Error Message - "FP1600 Connection to module has been lost."). We have checked other possible causes for this sort of behaviour. Including independent assessment of netowork availability at the time of error reporting, connecting dedicated power supply to the FP1600 module, temperature of cabinet housing the module (which is between 10 and 50 deg C), disconnecting sensors connected to various I/O modules connected to this module, increasing duration of parameter "time out" (the time module will wait before reporting an error if it can not access network). However, none of the above resolved the intermittent and random network loss errors.
The MAX version is 3.0.2, and the firmware on the module is 4.17, Labview version is 7.0 and the Operating System is windows NT.
I was wondering is there any information about this problem from any user or NI recently. The only solution looking in to this discussion forum seems to be replacing the module.

  • WRT54G3G/Vodafone connect card - Network loss after a few hours or sometimes days

I have a Linksys WRT54G3G router with a vodafone mobile connectcard. I did setup the "keep alive" function to the nearest DNS servers to keep the modem alive 24/7. However after a few hours of somtimes after a few days. The modem "hangs" itselves. After a power-up of the modem it's start to work again. This modem is on a project location with no people available to reset the modem. At this moment we use a local timerswitch to reset (power off/on) the modem every 24 hour, but this is not really a solution. We're using the latest firmware. Please advise !

    Re ; WRTG3G-ST Disconnect - I am running 2.00.9 firmware with a Sprint S720 card.
The Router disconnects from the Internet after a few minutes of operation.
I have set 'Auto Connect' to both auto (1000 min)  and manual. and still get the disconnect.
Once it disconnects I cannot reconnect remotely even if I launch a browser or ping.
Pressing the Data Card button does reconnect to the Internet.
Some times it runs for hours.
My 3G signal in this area is not the geatest but I would expect the router to handle that.
Any suggestions on how to keep connected. .

  • Datasocket Server looses connections after a few hours "Parsing URL"

    Hi there,
I need some help cause the DataSocket server is doing some bad stuff...!
The server runs on a WinNT 4.0 platform as a datalogger. It works fine, but after a few hours it seems the server looses connection somehow, the datasocket status of the frontpanel elements tells: "Connecting: Parsing URL" .
The server has about 5 DINT variables and about 3 clusters containing INT variables (size about 30).
I really ran out of ideas aof what happens on this "old" machine, maybe someone had some preblems like me and solved them....
    Thank for hints and tipps!

    Hello,
what service packs for Windows NT have you installed?
Datasocket server crashes after a short period of time when diagnostic
window is open (Tools->Diagnostics). Disable the "Auto-Refresh"
option in the Diagnostic Dialog from the Options menu.

  • Lose network connection after sleep on iMac but not MacBook

The subject line says it all:
I installed an Airport Express card on my old Rev A iMac when I got my new MacBook and an Airport Extreme Base Station.
The MacBook can go to sleep and, when I "wake" it up, it's ready to go.
After the iMac goes to sleep, its network connection is lost and I have to log back in.
Any way to fix this so the iMac stays logged in?

Haven't received a response but didn't want this hanging out there unresolved. Posted same question to Airport forum in hopes of a response there and marking this "answered."

  • I lose network connection after MacBook Wakes from Sleep

I upgraded to Mountain Lion on my 27" iMac and 15" MacBook Pro. iMac is doing fine. MacBook Pro, however, when it wakes from sleep, seems to have the network untility crash.
So the computer wakes from sleep, and the little status bar radar thing does its little sweep and doesn't just go solid. . If I click on it, it shows my Airport as connected, but after clicking, it freezes. the second to the bottom bar goes solid and the cursor becomes a spinning beachball. If I open system preferences, and select network, it freezes. The only way I can seem to get back on line is to reboot. I have an airport extreme with an older (g) airport express that I use to beam music to my stereo. The MacBook Pro is about 2009 vintage—you can still get to the battery, HD and memory—and the iMac is a bit later. One of the first 27" models, not quad core.
Anyone else having this problem? What more info would you need to help resolve? I'm a novelist and this is killing my productivity.
    Thanks,

    Try the basics first:
Change your router channel number.  Most times this works & is all you have to do.
Disconnect & reconnect your modem.  unplug it for about 10 seconds.  Plug it back in.  Do the same for Apple’s routers.  Wait for everything to reboot.
    System Preferences>Network
    Click the Assist Me button.
In the next window that pops up, click the Diagnostic button & do the necessary.

  • Clients cannot connect after a few hours

I just got the newest model Airport Extremem on Friday to replace my 1st Gen unit.  Today I nocited that all my wireless clients could not connect; they can see the Wireless but will fail to connect.  The only way to fix it is to unplug the airport and plug it back in.  Wired clients are not affected.  I have not checked to see if the issue affects 2.4 Ghz clients since I have only noticed the issue with my 5 Ghz connected computers.
Also Apple says the operating temp is max of 95° F (http://support.apple.com/kb/SP628); however, when I use my infrared thermomitor on the top of the unit I get around 130° F.  Not sure what other people are seeing but that seems a bit high.
    Thanks
    Chris

For anyone who might still be interested in this question.  It started kocking all the clients off wireless after about 10 minutes shortly after postling this question.  I brought it to the Apple store and the Genius looked at it and gave me a replacement unit.  The new unit has been running for about two days and has only hit a maximum surface temperature of 112° F.

  • CSCur62528 - ISE loses network connectivity after upgrade to 1.3

still not working with the new version ....
appliance network cards still get messed up during upgrade process .

For clarity, are you saying that you used ise-upgradebundle-1.2.x-to-1.3.0.876.repackaged.x86_64.tar.gz to upgrade and your NICs still swapped?
If this is the case and your ISE is Live, then a call to TAC is in order.

  • HP software loses connection to printer after a few hours

I have been having this problem since I bought my HP Deskjet 3052A a few months ago.  There is a program in my Startup folder called "Monitor Ink Alerts - HP Deskjet 3050A J611 Series (Network)."  It works fine when I start up my PC, but invariably after a few hours, I will get a message (and an icon in the system tray) saying that it has lost connection to the printer (I do not have the exact message at this time).  The message also says that wireless scanning is not available.  At that point, my PC will not print to the printer, although wireless devices using HP ePrint still are able to print.  Restarting the PC will fix the error.  I have set the printer up with a static IP address to try and fix the issue, but it continues to reoccur.
My PC is a Dell Dimension E520 running Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002, Service Pack 3.  It is connected via network cable to my Netgear N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router model WNDR3700.  The printer is connected via wireless to the same router.

I too have this problem and for no apparent reason.  The only thing I can link it to is, if I print a letter and then go into mail merge to print the envelope it allows me to print the envelope(s) but then loses the wireless connection when I go back into trying to print letters.
It really is a pain because I have to stop what I am doing and spend time going through the set up procedure again. Not difficult (except for the faff of having to take the printer to the pc and connecting the USB again) but time consuming and very disruptive to my working day.
I have another problem with printing a document and getting gobblygook, but that's for another thread and I will search for this.

  • Network connection is lost after a few hours

    Hi Everyone.
I'm new to the Mac world.
    I have two issues.
    1. Is there a way I can always map my network drive on my mac to see my windows PC? I always have to manually connect to it.
    2. I notice when I put the mac to sleep and I come back after a few hours I do not have connection to my network drive on my windows PC? It says that connection is lost or not available. It then takes another 3 minutes for it to recognize (beach ball thinking) and then I can proceed with my work.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Dragan

I commented on that already in this thread in which someone did the same suggestion:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=816760&tstart=15
I will copy and paste it:
    switching to 802.11b isn't really the solution…
with 802.11b you're restricted to 11MBit/Sec and it switches quite fast to 5.5 MBit/Sec.
I have a card in my iMac that supports 802.11g (and even n - but for that I would need a new router…and the driver…an airport extreme base station is not really an option for me) and I want to use it. I want to be able to stream video in my home-network between the computers. With 802.11b it's not really possible. In addition I want a "fast" data transfer per WLAN - even though 11g isn't as fast as copper, it's definitly faster then 11b.
Apple should do something on that problem. Right now I'm on 11g only and that doesn't help…

  • My internet connection drops after a few hours

Is a setting off. My airport extreme loses connection after a feww hours. Constantly have to reboot and reconnect. Stays connected fine when direct to mac?

Hello and thank you for the response.  The only way I can get these iMacs to stay connected to the internet is via Static IP.  The previous post states that static doesn't work but I didn't fill out all the fields correctly, like DNS and search domain.
Both Ethernet and Wi-Fi pick up an IP address via DHCP and after a few minutes the IP is dropped then a self-assigned 169 address appear.  With Static IP, we're good to go.
I've tried DHCP with manual address.
Editied the location on network preferences.
I've disabled "use passive FTP mode"
I connected Windows machines to the same network port as these iMacs and there are no issues.
    OSX 10.7
    Thanks again,

  • OsX 10.5.4 Drops PC Network connections after several hours

Recently update G5 to OSX 10.5.4 and find that our connection to the office pc network gets dropped after a few hours. Before it was fine. Not sure if problem is linked to the fact that we need to use the Go 'connect to server' in order to connect to our pc server. Once connected the shared connections on the left pane in finder are operable. I recall this is a reported bug.
    Thanks for any suggestions

    *UPDATE :*
Since I isolated the issue to just the Mac on the network, i thought it I should test if it affected all macs and OS versions.
    Here are my conclusions:
Power Mac G5 running 10.5.8 -> Drops Connection after NTP Sync
Mac Book Pro running 10.6.4 -> Drops Connection after NTP Sync
Mac Book Pro running 10.6.4 (wireless) -> Drops Connection after NTP Sync
    Any ideas ?

  • Smb network shares from W7 PC stop working after a few hours

I have a W7 pc sharing storage on my network.
when connecting when first starting my macbook, it connects fine, but after a few hours it drops out, and i am unable to connect to it unless i restart my macbook.
I have been using "connect to server" to connect my network shares, and when i try to reconnect them using this, it just keeps trying to connect, and wont ever connect even after leaving it to try for over 4 hours (connecting when first starting is fine, taking less than a minute).
sounds similar to a problem with the 10.6 server, where smb crashes.
is there a way to restart smb service on the macbook, or even fix it, so that it doesnt have to always be reconnected?

That's normal. Connections to non-server Windows machines will drop after a period of non-use.
and i am unable to connect to it unless i restart my macbook.
That's not normal. You should be able to reconnect at will.

There's a network connectivity problem. That is not how things are supposed to work.

Okay, you definitely have a network connectivity problem. OS X Server is not supposed to behave that way. What kind of network infrastructure do you have? What make/model routers, switches, hubs, whatever? WIred/wireless? What class cabling or if wireless, what class wireless?
is there a way to restart smb service on the macbook, or even fix it, so that it doesnt have to always be reconnected?
Yes. Usually you just disconnect and reconnect at will.

  • Wireless shows connected but stops working after a few hours?

Hi. I am having an issue with my linksys WRT160N v2 router. I have my desktop computer hardwired to my range extender (belkin E2S2400) which connects wirelessly to my router. The issue I am having is that after a few hours, especially if I am not on the computer, the wireless will stop working. Everything still shows connected and there is no evidence of a change except that anything I try to do (webpage, download, even the router itself) times out and says not available. It's as if the connection has somehow been put to sleep and is not being woken up.
This is despite having programs like bittorrent running in the background (seeding, not constant). I cannot find any settings to indicate sleeping or power issues or anything. If I reboot my range extender it works just fine. There is nothing on the range extender about going to sleep and it had no problem with my other router I was trying out. My other devices like my phone have no problem like this.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

It would be best to check if the WRT160N v.2 router has the latest firmware installed especially if you experienced the problem on all of your wireless devices. If ever you have the latest firmware installed on your router please try to check on your current wireless security settings especially the wireless channel, you may set it to 1,6, 9 or 11.
