FR issues adding member lists
What is the minimum requirements for users to manage/update members lists in an essbase cube?
The user has R/A admin rights.. When you try to save a list in FRS, it says it already exists(no matter what you save it as). If the user tries to use one that I created as admin it doesn't show in the list. If I modify the report as an admin, and have her run the report in Workspace or in the FRS using Print Preview it gives the following message:
Error executing query: Error: Error getting object[AppBudgetCubeBudgetDimSCENARIOSMemSelCurryr Actuals|1051041| [1033] Native: 1051041 [Cannot unlock olap file object. Essbase Error(1051041): Insufficient privilege for this operation]]
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
I don't think a patch will solve your issue.
I've seen this error while I was working with a client where I had read only access to Essbase and RnA admin rights.
It's exactly as you described. "List already exists", so gave a list of "lists" and an Admin created that for us.
So I was trying to see what is the minimum access needed to create an Essbase list in FR and seems like you should be atleast a "Database Manager" in the corresponding Essbase application to create and save a list.
I tried on 11.1.2.2.300 (I tried with a user with Essbase access Read, Write, Calc and none worked)
What is the Essbase access of the User? I created a list (Admin user in RnA and Essbase) and the user was able to see that through FR studio and the report opened correctly in Workspace.

Creating Dimension and Adding Member
Hi BPC gurus;
I'm performing on SAP BPC MS 7.5 version
I need to add dimension member to the dimension without bpc administration. I searched some thread about that issue, I found something but there is not much document.
There is a two method for this process
First way for this process >> using SSIS package
second way >> using Data Manager (this is also SSIS)
I tried these methods but i didn't success
for example
I made a dtsx package for adding member to mbr<dimensionname> table (and dim<dimensionname>) ("i added same member for both"). I added member correctly but when i checked in the report i didn't see my member.
Can anybody help me ? ( maybe sharing documents)
i think i need to update my dimension but how ?
thank you.
Regards...HI suatozdemir,
If you want to add members to a dimension the this document will help you to make http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/00380440-010b-2c10-70a1-e0b431255827?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true, the document shows you how to automate master data and how to update the information of a dimension.
hope this helps you, -
Cannot access system member lists after deleting unused currencies
I recently removed some unused currencies from the metadata file for an app.
The currencies I removed were not set as the default currency for any entities, and there was no stored data in the application using those currencies. The currencies removed were also not referenced in the rules file or the member list file.
The problem is that, after deleting the unused currencies, when I try to select either the "[Inputs]" or "[Totals]" system member lists for the Value dimension (within a grid), the system returns a "The parameter is incorrect" error message, and no list appears. The log from system messages is as follows :
The parameter is incorrect.

All the other system member lists in the Value dimension work fine, and all other member lists in other dimensions are ok. I tried reloading a metadata file with the old currencies back in, but this did not resolve the issue. There are no special characters in any member names or descriptions.
The app is on HFM v9.2.0.3.0.1380
Any help would be much appreciated

Error while loading Member list
Hi,
I'm using Financial Management 9.3.1.
When opening a Member List file (*.lst) I'm getting the following error:
Unexpected error: 80042380 occurred.
However, the file seems to open and, when clicking on "Explore Data", I get the following error message:
Error occurred while accessing the safe array.
Any help will be appreciated.I just had the same error - I tracked it down to an error in the structure of a Select...Case construct in the code in the .lst file. With this sort of structural error in the script, there was no helpful error message in the HFM ErrorLogViewer - so I isolated it by commenting out all the newly added code and gradually uncommenting it until I recreated and therefore spotted the problem.
Hope that helps

Perfomance issue with SharePoint List.
Current System:
Our application (for submitting and publishing articles) is using WSS 3.0
to store content and host workflows.
Article content like PDFs, Images & Videos are stored in a SharePoint document library.
There is also a list in which we have configured a custom state machine workflow. While creating an list SP item from the UI, instance of the configured workflow instance will be triggered and start monitoring.
Each article belongs to a Journal. We have TBs of data stored in content databases. Initially there was only one site collection (“http://<myweb:8080>/ArtcleLibrary”) and entire article data was storing it the same document library.
Later we decided to split the document library based on journal.
To achieve better scalability, we have now changed the application architecture by creating site collection for each journal and keep article content (there are many articles in a journal) in corresponding site collections. We have added more content databases
and sites collections are equally distributed among these Dbs.
Now it is like (“http://<myweb:8080>/<journalID>/ ArtcleLibrary”)
Actual Problem:
We have achieved scalability in the case of content management by splitting document libraries among different site collections and content databases.
But still the SP list for managing workflow is in the initial site collection (“http://<myweb>:8080/WorkflowTasks”). This single list contains now 60,000 items (=60,000 workflow instances) even if we deleted completed list items older than 3 months.
We have performance issues with the current workflow list. It is taking time (avg 20s) to create/read list item from the SP List. Sometimes items are not getting created in the list item.
From MSDN I came to know than there are recommended count for items in SPList (2000
or 5000 items).
What is the best solution to solve the above performance issue with SharePoint list?
Whether the above mentioned our approach to document library will work for SP list also (means split current SP List and keep in each Journal site collection)?
Please advise.Hi Andrew,
Thanks for your post.
I still have some doubts.
If we go like this, will OWSTIMER be able to handle workflows (custom workflow is attached to SP List) of these many site collections. We have now more than 600 site collections. -
Issues adding friends to iChat, please help!!
I am having issues adding friends on ichat. I can enter their emails but it doesn't notify them on their computer that I added them. How do I fix this?
Hi,
iChat uses Screen Names (with AIM and can be email in style)
Jabber Names/IDs look like emails as well but with Googletalk, FaceBook and Jabber Australia being the few exceptions I know of.
AIM Names when registered look like an email ([email protected]) but you do not need the @AIM.com suffix when adding them as a Buddy.
(Apple IDs of @mac.com and @me.com do need the relevant suffix)
It would help if we knew what type of Buddy List you were adding these to and what sort of "Email address" they are.

Dynamic Entity Member Lists using UD1 and UD2
Hello fellow HFM gurus:
I have created dynamic member lists to get all members of the entity dimension that have a UD1 or UD2 member as specified in the script.
THe member lists all appear in HFM, but when I try to select them, I get a run-time error. I am trying to select them in the member selection of a data form (in the same drop down with the different system member lists for entiites, like hierarchy, descendants, etc.).
I believe this is the standard syntax. Please let me know if something is wrong with it.

Display Dynamic Member List Variable value in the Header
Hi
In my HFR report im using a dynamic member list as DynList1(@POV) in the Entity Dimension; for HFM Application.
For the Entity Parameter im using User Prompt for Entity.
For the User Prompt im using a choice list of Four entity members. E1, E2,E3, E4.
I have 4 member lists ML_E1,ML_E2, ML_E3, ML_E4 such that ML_E1 contains few of the descendants of E1.
So wen i run the report i select E1 in the user prompt and the ML_E1 is used in the Report. This is working fine.
Now, i want to display the MemberName and Description of E1 in the Header.
Im not sure if it can be done. But wanted some confirmation from Hyperion Community on whther this can be done.If yes, please let me know how.
Thanks
VibhutiI tried to recreate the problem like listed above, but after I add the Outputcollection of the Invoke as a parameter, there is no schema info (not even task:task) when editing the Assignment and Routing Policy section. At any rate, there weren't errors to speak of - the instance completed with "The state of this instance is Completed".
In the meantime, I've used a while loop to loop through a sequence of approvers that are result of a query. I'll have to keep track of approvers and include them in each new payload I think. -
I am receiving the following error message when I try to click on the Member Selection icon:
'Selected member list cannot be empty'
Can someone please tell me what's causing this error, and how I can fix it?
Thanks!Hi SST,
Thanks for your answer.
As it turns out, the reason this error occurred is because of the Windows screen configuration. Instead of the Member Selection screen showing up in the active Excel tab, the screen was appearing 'in limbo', and therefore wasn't visible. As a result, the error kept appearing when the Member Selection icon was clicked on repeatedly. -

11.1.3 - Reporting - User Defined Member Lists
I exported a report from our production environment which is version 9.3.1 and imported into our development environment which is version 11.1.3 via Workspace and the user defined member list was not imported. Is there a way to have them included when reports are exported or do they have to recreated after they are imported?
Edited by: DPA1101 on Apr 8, 2010 11:55 AMI'm running 11.1.1.3 and just ran into some problems with user-defined lists and found out that, for reports using Essbase as the source, the lists are stored as txt files in the database directory. So exporting the reports will never include the lists. You would need to copy the files from one server to the other. There are at least 3 files. Two of them are like indexes. The third contains XML with the actual list.
We're just starting to play with user lists so I haven't figured out if the naming convention I'm seeing is consistent everywhere. In my case, I have a file named ADMDir.txt. This has a single entry that points to another file. That file contains the list names and references to the files that contains the list (in xml).
I hope this helps.
