FR Reports - set/save printing options

FR Reports 9.3.1 - trying to have my printing options 'stick', but not successful. For example, I open a FR in Workspace that is wide. I am required everytime that I print to select Landscape. Is there a way code this in the report design (via Studio)? Probably something obvious! Thank you -
Tom

Select File> Page Setup from the FR Studio menu (or you can also get here from selecting the background and right clicking and selecting Page Setup).

  • How to print the PDF file contains stamps without set the printer options

    I have pdf document, and stamp them with my personal stamp.
    With the printer option under "Comments and Forms", I set to "Document", my stamp DISAPPEARED.
    Unless re-set (use options) to "Document and Markups" or "Document and Stamps" then it will be fined.
    Can I embeding my stamps to my document so that everyone can print without using printer options to contain stamps?
    (regarding to whoever don't know how to set the printer options, and keep asking that I did not stamp on the doc.)
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance.

    Yes, you can.

  • How can I set default printer options on an iMac for an HP pro 8500 printer to print in draft mode?

    How can I set default printer options on an iMac for an HP pro 8500 printer to print in draft mode?

    When you use the Canon driver, the 2 sided printing is set in a different location. There is an entire menu dedicated to it (at least on my mx892). The printer dialog box has a menu selector in the middle of the screen (I think it says "layout" by default). If you click on it, you will see the duplexing options at the bottom. Much more flexibility than the single checkbox available with "airprint". The interface is unusual (at least for me) but you can pre-set up many different configurations (Fast Duplex, Fine Single-sided, B&W, Photo, etc etc.)

    Vibhor - You are developing using the Oracle Application Express facility running on Oracle Database 10g Express Edition. You can export applications you develop there for use on Oracle Application Express versions 2.0 and higher which can be used with Oracle Database server versions 9.2.0.3 and higher.
    Electing to install an application as Run Application Only will prevent the editing of the application definition by the end user. This can be useful if you assume that the end user will have access to the Application Builder in his database, which is likely if the end user's database is Oracle Database 10g Express Edition (XE). However, there is no way to prevent an XE user from having complete control over applications installed into those databases. If the end user's database is not XE, then only an Oracle Application Express site administrator will be able to change the application's Run Application Only setting to Run and Build Application but all developers with developer accounts in the Application Builder will be able to view and edit the application definition.
    Further, when you say "he can easily access my code", remember that the application definition is contained completely within the export file that you distribute but you may have in mind your PL/SQL source code as well. PL/SQL can be wrapped using a utility to make it more difficult to see in clear text.

    Hello Zamer,</br>
    </br>
    first question what's your version of ApEx you are working with.
    And second do you already setup the print server?</br>
    </br>
    If not you should take a look at this. It's a manual about how to configure printing.</br>
    </br>
    The creation of a standard PDF Report is described in this manual. That's the same equal which print server you are useing. Take a deeper look into this manual to find out how to create custom report layouts with BI publisher.</br>

  • Can not set up print option to print multiple pages in interactive pdf document

    I have created a multipage document --- acutally it is set up as two layers with one layer that is hidden and an interactive button can be pressed to view it.  I want it to  so both pages print, and I am unsure how to do this  I am working in acrobat 8 on a mac

    You need a scripting solution. Please try the Acrobat Scripting forum.

  • Adobe LC - Setting Advanced Print Options

    Dear all,
    I'm looking for possibility to use the .getPrintParams object via JS in the SFP. I would like to set-up nUpNumPagesH and some other attributes for printing.
    This code doesn't work:
    var pp = this.PrintParams();
    pp.pageHandling = pp.constants.handling.nUp;
    pp.printerName = "Fax";
    pp.nUpNumPagesH=1;
    pp.nUpNumPagesV=2;
    this.print(pp);
    I found information that it is not possible to set this prameter in the Adobe LC designer - I don't believe :o)
    Thank you,
    Jiri

    Hi Jiri,
    This looks like an Adobe Acrobat level object and you need to use getPrintParams() to get a reference to that object.
    The issue looks like you may be referencing the 'this' object of the Acrobat level (which is the doc object) from within the LiveCycle or XFA level of scripting. This is not directly available form here and the way to get a reference to it is to use the event.target variable which should be available in the event you have your script (what event is it by the way?)
    So your code should look like:
    var pp = event.target.getPrintParams(); //  <-- Changed...
    pp.pageHandling = pp.constants.handling.nUp;
    pp.printerName = "Fax";
    pp.nUpNumPagesH=1;
    pp.nUpNumPagesV=2;
    this.print(pp);
    Let me know if this helps.
    Ben.

  • How to save print setup for pdf file so that every user can open and print w/o manually performing?

    Can is there a way to configure the print settings (i.e. paper size, orientation, etc.) and save this setting as part of the pdf file? I would like the users of pdf files to be able to open the file and simply print, without having to manually configure the print settings.

    Not sure if this will help. I got this information from the built-in help under Acrobat 9.
    Advanced
    Lists PDF settings, print dialog presets, and reading options for the document.In the PDF settings for Acrobat, you can set a base Uniform Resource Locator (URL) for web links in the document. Specifying a base URL makes it easy for you to manage web links to other websites. If the URL to the other site changes, you can simply edit the base URL and not have to edit each individual web link that refers to that site. The base URL is not used if a link contains a complete URL address.
    You can also associate a catalog index file (PDX) with the PDF. When the PDF is searched with the Search PDF window, all of the PDFs that are indexed by the specified PDX file are also searched.
    You can include prepress information, such as trapping, for the document. You can define print presets for a document, which prepopulate the Print dialog box with document-specific values. You can also set reading options that determine how the PDF is read by a screen reader or other assistive device.
    Create print presets
    A PDF can contain a set of print presets, a group of document-specific values that is used to set basic print options. By creating a print preset for a document, you can avoid manually setting certain options in the Print dialog box each time you print the document. It’s best to define print settings for a PDF at the time that you create it, but print presets provide a means to add basic print settings to a PDF at any time.
    Choose File > Properties, and click the Advanced tab.
    In the Print Dialog Presets section, set options and click OK.
    The next time you open the Print dialog box, the values will be set to the print preset values. These settings are also used when you print individual documents in a PDF Portfolio.
    Note: To retain a print preset for a PDF, you must save the PDF after creating the print preset.
    Print Dialog Presets
    Page Scaling
    Prepopulates the Page Scaling option in the Print dialog box with the option you choose:
    Default
    Uses the application default setting, which is Shrink To Printable Area.
    None
    Prevents automatic scaling to fit the printable area. This setting is useful for preserving the scale of page content in engineering documents, or for ensuring that documents print at a particular point size to be legal.
    DuplexMode
    For best results, the selected printer should support duplex printing if you select a duplex option.
    Simplex
    Prints on one side of the paper.
    Duplex Flip Long Edge
    Prints on both sides of the paper; the paper flips along the long edge.
    Duplex Flip Short Edge
    Prints on both sides of the paper; the paper flips along the short edge.
    Paper Source By Page Size
    Selects the option by the same name in the Print dialog box. Uses the PDF page size to determine the output tray rather than the page setup option. This option is useful for printing PDFs that contain multiple page sizes on printers that have different-sized output trays.
    Print Page Range
    Prepopulates the Pages box in the Print Range section of the Print dialog box with the page ranges you enter here. This setting is useful in a workflow where documents include both instruction pages and legal pages. For example, if pages 1–2 represent instructions for filling out a form, and pages 3–5 represent the form, you can set up your print job to print multiple copies of only the form.
    Number Of Copies
    Prepopulates the Copies box in the Print dialog box. Choose a number from 2 to 5, or choose Default to use the application default, which is one copy. This limitation prevents multiple unwanted copies from being printed.
    Thanks.

  • Generating Grayscale PDF Through Printing Option?

    I have a document with 100 color slides that I'd like to retain as a grayscale handout (i.e. a PDF file with 4 slides per page). Through the 'Print' option and beneath the 'Keynote' drop-down menu, for 'Handout', I've selected 4-slides per page. But I can't find a way to make the document grayscale. I see a checkbox for 'Grayscale Printing' beneath the 'Quality & Media' menu, but the document still appears in color when I save it as a PDF and open it in Preview. I've also selected 'Color Sync' beneath the 'Color Matching' menu and found options for black/white and generic gray profiles, but these don't seem to affect the document.
    Do I have to add a printer or change my preferences? I remember this working with the last version of Keynote. What has changed?

    Set your print options as you want them and then in the PDF drop down menu, select Open PDF in Preview. Then go to Save As and in the Quartz Filter drop down menu, select Gray Tone. Then save it.

  • Print Option Window Pop-Up at Every Print!

    I need to run an action script that setting some print options then print the document without the print option window popping-up. Is there anyway to prevent the print option window from popping-up everytime it prints from a PC? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

    Thanks for your response. I was told that it's because the script was written from a Mac and I tried to run on the PC. It works after I rewrote the script.

    Hi,
    You need to tell us which report you are checking and upon clicking the print the crash is happening.
    In the meanwhile also check Note No. :  [1535046|https://b1-support.wdf.sap.corp/sap/support/notes/1535046]

  • Print option in BI Report

    Hi
    When i click on the print version in the portal, i can take the printout of the report in the PDF format.
    When i have only 6 columns in the report then all fit in one page. But if i drill down and add one more column to the report and try to do the print (Landscape), I get only first 6 columns in the report.
    Is there any mechanism where in we can say fit to one page or shrink to the page in portal?
    Regards

    Hi
    Thanks for the replies
    Fit to page option is not working. Its not displaying all the contents in one page
    When i say print by default its opening up the PDF file in which there is a report data.
    Where do we do the setting that PDF to be generated when a print option is clicked in EP?
    Regards
