hi,
We have hyperion installed on 64 nt windows nt........my work laptop is 32 bit win XP........i installed 32 bit FR studio ....I can login to FR studio on my laptop....but i cannot see any fr reports which are already developed and are present in system......when i click on explore/click on new report icon/click on open folder icon...... iam getting folowing error

The remote desktop machine is unable to resolve the servername.
Solution
Take the following steps:
•From a CMD window, enter the following command: "ping <servername>" and verify that an IP address returns.
•Add the the IP address and the long and short servernames to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts, following the syntax provided in the file.

Visual Studio Error in UNIX FTP for AIX

I am using a VS2010 Web Site Project to access files on our
AIX server (Unix). (Pre-compiled website).
Using Add > Existing Web Site, I have established an FTP session within my project which shows all of the Unix files and folders.
We just found out that there were two folders on the AIX side with the same name, differing case:
/MDM/Custom & /MDM/custom
On the Unix side:
To fix this, I edited the folders to move all of the stuff within /MDM/Custom into
/MDM/custom, then I deleted /MDM/Custom entirely.
So back to VS2010 on the Windows side:
I deleted the website from the project and exited VS.
I deleted all the files in %TEMP% and restarted VS.
I restarted VS and recreated the web site in the project using Add > Existing Web Site.
The only folder showing is /MDM/Custom which has nothing in it.
Refreshing the folders produces error 550. (No such file or directory).
How do I recover from this situation? Where is VS storing the bogus folder name?
P.S.: This is a pre-compiled web project

Essbase Studio Error in 11.1.2.2

Hi Everyone,
I have installed hyperion 11.1.2.2 in windows 2008 Server and configured sucessfully however when i click on essbase studio console i am getting the below error.
A javaruntime environment (JRE) or java development kit (JDK) must be available. No Virtual Machine was found after searching the following locations.
C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\Essbase\Essbasestudio\console\jre\bin\javaw.exe
javaw.exe is current path.
i don't see the javaw.exe file in the above path. Kindly help me in this.

If you edit
<MIDDLEWARE_HOME>\EPMSystem11R1\products\Essbase\EssbaseStudio\Console\startStudio.bat
then you will probably see "set JAVA_HOME=..." is pointing to an incorrect location
As the Studio console is 32bit then it needs to point to a 32bit JRE e.g.
set JAVA_HOME="E:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\common\JRE"

Design Studio error on IPAD - Version mismatch web tier 12.1.0.224 PJS 13.0.3.73 after upgrade from 4.0 SP7 to 4.1 SP4

Hi All,
we have BI 4.1 SP4 installed with Tomcat as our Application server.
While running the Design Studio AA application on IPAD we get the below error but other application are working fine on IPAD (WEBI, DASHBOARDS, EXPLORER)
We tried to redeploy the WAR files on Tomcat couple of time without any luck.
Request to help us in resolving this issue.

Management studio error while creating/editing maintenance plan

Hi,
I had MS SQL 2012 enterprise edition installed and everything was working fine. Later I removed MS SQL 2012 and re-installed. Now when I am trying to create maintenance plan I am getting below error. When I click Yes system allows me to go through the maintenance
plan wizard and create new plan but when I want to edit it give me same error and it doesn't open screen to edit the plans. Can you please provide solution to below error?

Thanks for your reply. I resolved this issues yesterday by installing SQL Server
Management Tools Complete. I suspect that
Microsoft.DataTransformationServices.VsIntegration.DtsPackage, Microsoft.DataTransformationServices.VsIntegration
DLL files were having issues. When I searched my system I could only find Microsoft.DataTransformationServices.VsIntegration.DLL and
Microsoft.DataTransformationServices.VsIntegration.DtsPackage.DLL file was missing.
When I re-ran the MS SQL setup to add new feature I selected Management Tools Complete and after installation this error was resolved. Though this has solved the issue for now I feel the error shouldn't have come with Management Tools -
Basic installation as I had installed MS SQL Server before with Management Tools - Basic and it had worked without any issues.
For now this issue is resolved but it will be of good help if I can know the cause of this error and what could be the possible solution.

Hyperion Financial Reports Studio Error. Max No of connections exceeded.

I have encountered an error in FR Studio, it says Max No of Connections Exceeded.
It occured twice in this month, everytime it happens we need to restart Reporting and Analysis Framework. Can someone suggest where can I increase the max no of connections allowed?

You will have tun serviceconfig.sh under Hyperion_Home\products\Foundation\workspace\bin to bring up GUI,then From the menu available you will see Remote service configurator,select that and provide the credentials.After you login,there should RM1 and SB1.You will have to go o properties of RM1 and SB1 and then increase the connection.Restart is required for this to take affect.

I have trying to deploy a cube with Essbase Studio but I get the error: "*Error(1021001): Failed to Establish Connection With SQL Database Server*"
My environment is Linux 5, Oracle 11g and EPM 11.1.1.2. Oracle database and Essbase was installed with diferent users. In the .bash_profile of hypadmin user (that install Essbase) I have set the following variables

In my pc (windows xp) I can open Essbase Studio console, do the connection to Oracle database, get tables and create minischema, mesures and hierarchies (I can see the preview of hierarchies). Also I can create cubes with EAS and can connect with MAXSHELL to essbase.
When I try to deploy the cube from Essbaes Studio y get the error "Error(1021001): Failed to Establish Connection With SQL Database Server".

DBA studio: Error add/connect database "Failed to parse tnsnames.ora file"

I have Oracle (version 8.1.7) installed in my XP machine and when I try to (having chosen "Launch DBA Studio standalone") to open a connection I get:
"Failed to parse tnsnames.ora file

Just found out this IS a string error in my Tnsname.ora. What i did is deleting all the entries in my tnsname.ora, and start adding each one back. I found one particular entry is responsible for the error. This is the old text

I admit I probably should have used the network utility to add a connection to avoid this type of format error.
Anyhow, I'm glad it is solved. by the way, the symjct.dll mentioned in the previous post should be symcjit.dll. I guess he mispelled the name. I renamed it to symcjit_old.dll and now the java error was gone. So that is another gain from this post. Thanks Joel for all the information.

Provider Services and Studio Errors in Shared Services

I installed and configured Shared Services version 11.1.1.3 on Windows 2003. After installing and configuring APS and Studio, I get an error in Shared Services when I click on the application. The error says "User is not authorized for the action" I am logged in as the admin and there are no other users. The system was JUST installed.
I have repeated this error on multiple systems using separate sets of install files.
The applications are running and fully functional.
Does anyone know if this is a cosmetic error or if this a functional error?
I've also noticed that there is no provisioning available in Shared Services for APS.
I can provide a screen shot. Ididn't see a place to include it here.

FR Studio Error Connecting to Essbase

Hi,
We currently have FR 11.1.1.3 as well as Essbase 11.1.1.3. I'm able to use FR Studio via a Windows XP VM box we have setup as an admin box since most of the 11.1.1.3 stuff is not compatible with Windows 7 64-bit.
I have read the FR 11.1.1.3 is compatible with Windows 7. I have it installed on my Windows 7 machine and am able to open the studio client and see my reports in the repository but when I try to open a report I get an error.
"Failed to Connect to Server. Error connecting to database connection xx:xx"
Any ideas as to what might need to be done to get the connections to work?

I'm able to create a new database connection through Workspace but I attempted to in FR Studio and got the same error.
I don't know how to check that the correct ADM drivers are installed based on the datasource. I've attempted to uninstall FR Studio so I could re-install it fresh but the uninstaller just spins (no surprise at all).
Can I just copy a few folders over from the XP machine that does work with FR to get the correct drivers or is it something more involved?

Essbase Studio Error

I'm trying to clear out everything that I'm not using in the Metadata Navigator. I'm trying to delete something but then I get this error:
Error in destroy statement. Line = 143.
Relationship array is referencing non-existing object. Report this error to Technical Support.
Is there something in the backend Essbase Studio db that needs to be deleted?

I've had this happen in Studio 11.1.1.X where I deleted artifacts that were being used. It completely hoses up the database. There really is an order you ened to follow to delete things. Basically the reverse order they were created. Using lineage is a good way to check where artifacts are being used. 11.1.2.1 got a lot better at checking to see if oyu can delete first.
At this point, I recommend restoring the system tables from a backup

SAP B1 Studio - Error Opening: There is an error in XML document (0, 0)

Hello everyone!
Now try to open the SAP Business One Studio Suite and I get the following error:
"System.InvalidOperationException:. There is an error in XML document (0, 0) ---> System.Xml.XmlException: Root element is missing."
Reinstall the application and nothing, continuing the error, the client SAP B1, Visual Studio 2010 and B1DE work correctly.
As I can fix this?

Sap Netweaver Developer Studio Error.....

I have a problem with Sap Netweaver Developer Studio i have installed JDK and NDS in my pc and i try to make the examples, i have finished to develop the applications(without problems) but i couldn't deploy them, i have a portal server installed and running, i tried to configure the server name in the J2EE Engine Configuration but it had no effect.
I have the next error
Cannot determine sdm host (is empty). Please configure your engine/sdm correctly !

for WebDynpro-Projects you can create an .ear-archive in the context menu of your porject ("Create archive") that you have to deploy with SDM. BUT: webdynpro requires WebApplication Server 6.40! You cant use a webdynpro-project in your current ep60sp2-installation.
for portal applications you can export a .par-arcive in the context menu of your project ("Export...", choose "PAR file") that you can import in your portal.
you can't test your application without deploying it to a server. if you haven't got a connection to the server during developing, you have to install a portal or at least a WAS6.20(Java) & EP60SP2 or WAS640(java) & EP60SP>2 locally on your computer.
if you choose to do that, i recommend the WAS6.40(Preview) because you can then develop webdynpros, too.

When working with NetWeaver Developer studio (NWDS), sometimes we get an error which says <b>"An error has occurred. See error log for more details."</b>
No further details are given. Which error log is it referring to? Where can it be found?
