FR Web Report - Can't export to query
In Hyperion Planning/Workspace 11.1.2.1, after running Web Report (HTML), cannot "Export in Query Mode" to Smartview. It launches Excel, but the worksheet stays blank and the report is not populated. It doesn't make a differenc if I'm already logged in to Smartview or not.
The report successfully exports to Query in 11.1.2.0. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Webi Reports failing -Cannot execute empty query
Intermittent problem affecting all Webi reports in the SAP BI system .
This affects all Release 1 and Release 2 Webi reports
When the user tries to run the report, an error message appears with the message "Cannot execute empty query. (QTJ00521)"
User can close the report and try to run it again - the report may execute properly the second time.
This problem started in production at R2 go live. It is affecting both R1 and R2 webi reports.
It cannot be reproduced in lower environments.Hi,
Check attached SAP note if this is relevant for your issue. As per this SAP note this happens when query stripping option is checked. If this is checked then uncheck and try.

Webi report data & the corresponding BW Query data do not tally.
Hi all,
I am running a Webi report (XI 3.1) over a universe that is built on an SAP BW Query. The data in the report is regarding sales, and the grand total of the 'Sales Amount' as per the BW Query is about 1Million, which is correct. However, when I run a Webi report based on the same BW query, taking ALL the objects from the query (without any conditions and filters), the 'Sales Amount' figure comes out to be only 50K instead of 1Mn(as above). I'm not sure why this figure is so drastically reduced in the Webi report.
When I remove some objects from the query, Webi displays the correct figure of 1Mn. But these are the objects that are very much required in the report for multidimensional analysis. Dropping these objects would defeat the purpose of the report. The BW query too includes these objects during its execution and then displays the correct sales figure of 1Mn.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Alok.Hi,
Yes, I was getting partial results. I got rid of it by unchecking the the options in the 'SQL' tab in the Universe parameters.
Thanks for the help.

Can't Export this query to Excel v1.5.4 5940
All,
I have this query that I can't export to excel.
SELECT '01' ,
'<$25',
COUNT(*),
SUM(salary)
FROM HR.employees
WHERE department_id = '30'
AND salary < 6000
Query returns results, just can't export to excel.. Tried giving the literals alternate column names ....no effect.
Thanks,Hi Charles,
This issue has been logged as a bug.
I know that these export issues are been actively worked on at the moment for out next major release.
There is a workaround outlined here, although it not a great solution it may get you out of a bind in this one case.
Re: Export will not work - sample query pasted
CREATE VIEW workaround AS
SELECT '01' AS col1 ,
'<$25' AS col2,
COUNT(*) AS col3,
SUM(salary) AS col4
FROM HR.employees
WHERE department_id = '30'
AND salary < 6000 ;
SELECT * FROM workaround; -- export this result.

How can I export the query result into access(*.mdb) file?
Dear all:
I want to export the query result displayed in jsp into excel file
and access file. And I have exported the result into excel format successfully, only one line should be added in the head of Jsp:
<%@ page contentType="application/vnd.ms-excel; charset=gb2312" %>
But how can I export it in access(*.mdb) file? I have replaced "excel"
with "access". But it can't achive my goal.
What should I do to achieve my goal?
Thanks! The only reason your Excel export works is that Excel knows how to interpret comma separated values as an input file format. Access has no such beast.
If you absolutely must provide info in an mdb, one solution would be to create an ODBC datasource pointing to an empty mdb, then push data into it using the jdbc:odbc bridge, then make a copy of the file and stream it down to the browser. You may run into some ugly file locking items here - set the ODBC connection so it is not shared, and that might help.
This one is going to be ugly.
I suppose another approach would be to write a simple VB applicatin that uses automation to create an MDB, then stream that file down to the browser from your servlet. That would almost certainly be faster than the ODBC approach.

Webi reports based on the BW query that sits on top of BW Infoset
Hi everyone,
I do can create the BW OLAP connection on BW Infosets, but when I use the Bex Query and try to create the report, when I launch the report in Webi, it doesn't return any values, but when I launch the Bex Query itself, it does have data!
Any ideas why this happens?
I don't have any filters, it's a simple test query and test report.
Thanks!Hi,
What's happens when testing the query in RSRT?
How about trace log analysis in ST05 and RSRT ?
What happens in the SOFA / MDA .log ? Any error there?

Web Application: Can't Find BEx Query!
Hello -
I'm new to a company and I've been tasked with identifying the BEx queries that underlie the published web application reports that are accessed via our company's intranet site. I am able to identify the queries via the URL on a few of the published reports. However, there are a few reports that do not indicate the query name in the URL; these reports are located in a section referred to as "Embedded Reports" and are accessed by clicking on a hyper-link. Even after I click on the hyper-link and arrive at the web application report, I am still unable to identify the query name within the URL. Furthermore, the URL does not change when I click on the Hyper-link or even after I execute the report.
Does anyone have any insight into my issue? I have experience with web application reports however my experience is limited to the basics.
Thank you in advance for any help!Okay, great, thanks for your help!
Here is the first URL:
http://mn01web03/lma/forms/Finance/BPS/BPS_links.html
>This URL has a link that says "All Reports" and when I click on it, I am prompted to login to BW-Production and then I am brought to the following URL:
http://sapp8100.adc.com:8080/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAzMCZkPW1pbg==)/bc/bsp/sap/zfcst2/zfcst2.htm
>This is where I find a few links that include the BEx query in the URL as I would expect; and then there are the few other links that do not have a separate URL; even after I click on the report-link and I'm brought to a different web page, the URL does not change.
Does this help at all? -

Crystal Report can't export after OS change from 32 to 64 bit
Hello,
Now we have lots of reports develop under WINXP (32 bit), we use crystal report 9.2.xx.x and VS2008. But we need to apply all of these to production server which use WIN SERVER 2003 64 bit.
I have read some documents but some points still not clear.
1. Do we need to upgrade all of these reports to use 64 bit ODBC driver? is it possible to use 32 bit ODBC driver to export in WIN SERVER 2003 64 bit? the target DB is oracle client 10g 64 bit.
2. Do we need to amend the program code to fit the 64 bit OS. (I have tried to run our program in this server, but failed at the method of reportdocument.export), we use VB.NET 2008.
Many thanks. You need to create a 32 bit ODBC datasource. See [this|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes_boj/sdn_oss_boj_bip/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes.do] note and [this|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes_boj/sdn_oss_boj_bip/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes.do] for more details.
Of course, you need to have a 32 bit client.
You should be able to create 64 bit apps using the Crystal Reports that bundles with .NET 2008 (Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008). This version of CR and CR 10.2 (bundles with .NET 2005) are the only 64 bit versions of CR.
If you want to pursue the error on reportdocument.export, please create a new thread.
For more information re. Crystal Reports and 64 bit support see [this|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/10d5fa88-2013-2c10-c9a5-f11963607d4e] article.

Cosmetic issue in WEBI report while creating on top of BEX query
While Creating WEBI report on tob of BEX Query, it is displaying both Technical names and descriptions at webi design level.
The infoobjects we had used in BEx Query is Navigation Attributes.
In case if we are using normal Infoobjects, we can able to restrict as per my requirement like uniqe name, description or both.
In this webi report user(Power user) having flexibility to drag and drop available characteristics.
Due to this issue column heading is displaying both technical name and description. For example Customer(ZCUSTOMER)How come , if it is display for data means it also need to be display for header (Dimension also).
you can try alternatively in webi by creating variable for that Iobj .
Refer below blog provide details:

Thanks and regards,
Peter .zhuI have changed my variaable in my bw query ,I found if you use SAP default variable it is ok in BO side . So I get a guidline by SAP default variable ,I changed my customer variable in variables edite ,don't use 'ready for input' .And then the variable can be useful in BO side .
