Fragment question today

Good afternoon,
im playing around with fragments and i though i was understanding the concept just fine until i decided to build a Fiscal Year (FY) fragment.
My idea was to build a FY frag that i could attach to all my 250 forms and once a year, update the fragment file with the new year and voila, all my 250 forms now reflect that change.
Is this how fragments really work? im on a corporate network and when i was testing this this morning it was working, but not on my users machine. I just now see that on my machine the only reason it works is because i do a PDF preview from within Livecycle Designer and that seams to be enuff to get it to sync with my fragment.
When i test with my users, the only thing they have is the file with the fragment inside it and they open it using Reader X. But when they do, the changes to the FY frag dont show up, it just stay the same.
Now when i test it on my machine using Reader 10 and not Livecycle Designer, i also see that the FY doesnt get updated.
So my questions iare, am I using the fragment properly and what im I missing for this to work at all?

I think i would like to come up with a FY dropdown that can know when it's time to add a new Fiscal Year. Just not sure of the code necesserry to make this happen.

Site Studio - Fragment question

Hi,
Is it possible to have dynamic listing within static list element.
I have a Fragment in my page for static listing, Fragment contains number of elements of which one is custom element with radio button.
Script says if Radio button A is selected display certain element in the page, if B is selected display different element and so on.
I was wondering if it is possible to added query element within that Fragment which I can generate dynamic listing. Eg: if Radio button E is selected then display listing from whatever a query is.

You've basically described your own anwswer. Remember a dynamic list is nothing more than a structure that holds a query and the ui to display the results of that query. So, in your static list have an element that is a custom element to go get a query, or even a plain text element where you can paste the query. Then, your static list region template (if you're 10gR4) or your fragment ui (10gR3) panel will have to contain the code to execute the query and write out the radio buttons.

Essbase Fragmentation Question - Average Fragmentation Quotient

According to the DBA guide, if we are using the 'Average Fragmentation Quotient' to evaluate whether the level likely will cause performance problems. We should defrag if the quotient is above 30%. (our db is over 2G)
How do I read the below DBSTATS reults for that db? is 'Average Fragmentation Quotient' 43.797% or .437977 %? I've had differant answers from consultants on this.

Free Space Recovery Needed: Yes

My guess that it is saying 43.79%, which suggests that there is fragmentation, however your Average cluster ratio is 1, indicating no fragmentation....
when I say guess, I mean my understanding.

Cellular Data Account Question-iPad 2 (3G+Wi-Fi)(Verizon Wireless)

I recently purchased a IPad 2 (CDMA/3G + Wi-Fi) from Amazon.com and when I received it the cellular data plan was still intact with the device. My question today would be how do I remove the previous owners Cellular Data Account and If so how do I add my own. Your answer will be greatly appreciated.

You are not talking to Apple on this forum. We are all users here. First thing it would try is to reboot your iPad.
Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't help I'd contact Apple Support.

"Questions"/"Posts" nonsense

This 'Question' nonsense is taking the compelxity of the new forums FAR too far. I have posted a real question today, but I did not mark it as a 'Question'. Therefore it appears in My Posts, but not in My Questions - even though it is a question. Without it being a Question, it isn't a question. And so I cannot award points to anyone who answers my question, because it wasn't a Question to begin with.
In a final piece of nonsense, the Help says "a Discussions topic is classified as a question by default", but also "When a topic is marked as a question, a question mark icon will appear next to the topic. This lets the Discussions community know that a member is looking for answers to a question."
Now, if anyone can figure out what the **** this all means, please let us know. I have marked this as a Question, so if you give me an Answer, I can give you points. But not otherwise. Or something.

Double Question:Possible to save Image? and How do I use Frame ...

Ive got lotsa questions today! I was just wondering if it was possible that I could save an image that I previously opened (with MediaTracker), and modified. I would imagine that it would be possible, but I have no idea what the try catch block would look like, nor the code to actually do it. Any ideas?
I was also wondering how I would get my class to use methods from the package that I just compiled, as well as from the Frame class.
Because I cant just write:
public class point extends Frame, SimpleGUI
How do I do this one?

How do I do this one?No multiple inheritence in Java (though you may implement many interfaces). One work-around is to extend one object and instantiate the other as a component of the new class.

A basic question about upgrading iPhoto before moving to a new iMac

I just ordered a new 27" iMac for my wife who uses several iLife programs and is a big user of iPhoto. Her present iMac still uses Tiger and iLife '08. Don't ask why Tiger! I'm wondering if there is any advantage/disadvantage to upgrading iLife to '09 before we move everything to the new iMac which will come with iLife '09? I'm not sure if the iPhoto library being upgraded on the current iMac would be moved to the new iMac "easier/cleaner" than copying the "old" library then placing it into "Pictures" (and opening it with '09 in the new iMac). For some reason it sounds "easier" to upgrade Before moving the library to the new iMac. Obviously this same "theory" applies to the other iLife applications. I'd rather ask this question today than to have to ask it when there's a great big problem!

TD certainly you're right and I sit here laughing at the fact she has iPhoto '09 on her macbook Pro and '08 on her desktop. It wasn't until Saturday night that she let me put Snow Leopard on her MBP and I've been running it on my MBP and MP since it came out. Oh well. But at this point we'll upgrade the desktop (a PPC iMac) then can copy and move the library to the new iMac without some potential for problem.

NX7600GT Diamond Plus Questions

Hey Everyone,
My questions today are about the NX7600GT Diamond Plus video card. I am thinking about building a Home Theater PC and I was looking at the MSI 7600GT Diamond Plus card, because of the HDMI port. Does this port besides carrying video carry sound as well? if so what kind is it, 2 CH, Digital, etc.? If it doesn't any recommends on cards that will carry very good sound quality out? Also, are there any benefits to having two of these cards instead of one, other then having two 7600 GTs for playing games? Finally, if I play a DVD on my computer(which is encrypted) and run the HDMI cable from the card to a DVD player/recorder, will I be able to record the movie or will copyright bs problems occur? Sry for all the noob questions, but I am new to the HTPC arena.

I currently own this card and might be able to answer your questions.
This card will send digital S/PDIF sound through the hdmi port if your motherboard or sound card has spdif cababilities. This can be done one of two ways. Option A: If you have an internal header off of your mobo/soundcard you can use the supplied internal spdif cable. Option B: If you don't have an internal header (I don't and use this method) you can use the supplied RCA pass-through cable conecting the RCA end to your spdif out and the other end to the VGA. Aside from being able to SLI them and increase the performance of some programs there is no advantage to having two as you will only be able to use the ports on one.
I'm not entirely sure about being able to copy a movie. I wasn't aware that there were any DVD recorders with HDMI inputs on the market. If you have a standard definition DVD (not Blue-ray or HD-DVD) you probably shouldn't run into any copyright problems. However I've found that many DVDs will refuse to play on my computer if a TV out port is activated, you may or may not run into this with the HDMI port. This isn't card specific, from talking with tech support this is apparently present on all nvidia 7-series cards.
Overall I was really impressed with how this card handled the digital sound, but was not impressed with the quality of the HDMI video signal. The signal was being overscanned, and looked horrible in comparison to the analogue signal from my card. This is really no surprise considering this is the first ever HDMI card. Theres always going to be bugs at first. If you're planning on building an HTPC I would suggest using the plain old RGB (15 pin analogue) if your HDTV has the input (most do). You won't run into any DRM restrictions using this method and the quality difference (versus DVI) is hardly, if at all, noticable on today's HDTVs and projectors.

Question regarding movers coupon with preorders

I was planning on picking up the halo 5 collectors edition, I have gamers club unlocked which takes $50 off but wanted to know if the movers coupon can be used with it. I didn't see anything in the exclusions regarding it but had been declined trying to use it on a pre-order in store before. When asked why I was told "They just can't."

It is correct that you would be unable to use coupons on a pre-order deposit in-store, as the game itself is not being purchased on that receipt. If your coupon is still valid at the time of fulfillment, then you would apply it at that time, which is the same time your the Unlocked Gamers Club discount is applied.
Depending on which coupon you have, you may be able to use it online. If this is the case, the coupon discount should apply, followed by your Unlocked discount. In some cases, however, only one discount can be applied through BestBuy.com. The best course of action is typically to try it. If it is not supposed to work, it won't. Just don't process through the transaction if you aren't seeing both discounts and want to use the coupon later. This could result in the coupon being considered redeemed and unable to be used on a different transaction.
