Frame 8 & Webworks 2003 Compatible?

Hello, I have been working with Frame 7.1 and Webworks publisher 2003 for quite some time. I am in the process of moving to Adobe Tech Comm Suite (Frame/Robohelp). However, because of time contstaints, i would like to be able to continue to generate my help using Webworks until I am ready to do so in Robohelp. The version of FM in the Tech Comm Suite only allows saving back to version 8.0. Does anyone know if FM 8.0 is compatible with WebWorks Publisher 2003?

Actually, your take on it is only partly accurate.
You can only SaveAs from 9 to 8 in .fm format.
However, you can also SaveAs from 9 to 7 MIF, the ASCII interchange format, which will open natively in FM 7. If you use that path, you should be OK.

  • Access 2003 compatible with php or sql?

I'm beginner lvl, and trying to connect an access 2003 database table to a website.
I'm hoping it will be able to submit, and upload from this table. I'm looking into sql and php.
I was just hoping for some foresight from the more experienced that have dealt with this outdated version of access.
    Maybe i just need to get a newer version, but first;
    Q1
-----using the wizard to create a page, and running it in ie 11 (it doesn't like chrome) it doesn't run correctly.. the options for switching between data and creating new inserts aren't compatible with ie 11.
??? is there another way without the wizard to configure an html with access 2003?
    Q2
-----I'll be looking for a config with sql and php, i don't know how long either of these has been around.
??Are they a good idea for attempting this?
I'm interested in ideas that involve using code in notepad documents and access 2003
I'm not really interested in using third party enviroments for my developing and configurations.
    Thanks in advance

Access was never designed to be a database behind a web front-end. The number of concurrent calls could overwhelm it. There are also far fewer samples and support available than using SQL Server database. So look into the free Express Edition of
SQL Server. We're now at version 2014. No need to use 10-year old tech for a new site.
The web pages could be programmed using asp.net if using MSFT tech, or PHP if you want to do it the hard way  :-)
Choose one camp, and stick with it. This is to say: either use the LAMP stack, or MSFT. You *can* mix and match, but not as a rookie.

  • Export Mail inbox and sent mailbox to an Outlook 2003 compatible file

I need to export my Mail inbox and sent mailbox to a file or files that can be imported into MS Outlook 2003 on a PC.
I can find menu options for importing files (although no Outlook files) but don't see a menu entry for exporting mailboxes.
Anyone know how to get this done? I'm going to be a very unhappy camper if this can't be done!

Thunder?????????? Would that be shorthand for Thunderbird from Mozilla?
I just bought a new iMac, and although I've had brushes with Macs before (Systems 6, 9.x, and OS X Jaguar) this is my first serious attempt at using a Mac. Switching from Windows.
But I'm not new to personal computers, my first one was, and still is as I have it in storage, an Atari 800 if you are old enough to have heard of those.
In anticipation of using either Boot Camp or Parallels (I've settled on Parallels because I want "side-by-side operation), I did take the precaution of setting Mail up to leave copies of the emails on the server. So now I only have to deal with my Mail sent mailbox.

  • Compatible Digital Photo Frame?

I'm trying to find a digital photo frame which is reliably compatible with Mac files (i.e. iPhoto), for both photos and video. I didn't think it would be such a big deal but now that I've started researching it, I'm finding all sorts of complaints about incompatibility, especially with, for example, .mov files.
The product I'm seeking is intended to be a gift for my elderly grandmother (90 years old) so it has to be simple to use (in other words, I'm not going to get her an iPod touch-- just a simple frame, on which I can pre-load photos and videos, would be ideal.)
    Any ideas?
Thank you so much in advance, and forgive me if this question should be posted elsewhere.

Old Toad (love the name!)-- Thank you for the response, and the tip on converting the video files. I think I will try that out, and maybe take a card or thumb drive into Best Buy or Fry's and see if I can test it.
Can anyone confirm success with putting short videos (created on an Apple device, such as an iPhone) on a digital photo frame? I spent hours Googling yesterday and could find no actual testimonials of such...
Seems like a pretty basic thing that people would like to be able to do these days, with all the file/video sharing. I know most people just physically hand over a phone or other device and say, "here, look," but I'm sure I'm not the only one with elderly grandparents who never got much beyond using an electric typewriter, and when you can't be physically there to show them something on your own device or computer, there needs to be a simpler solution. I'm looking at frames because those seem to be the least intimidating for an elderly person, as they don't "feel" as much like space-age electronics.
If anyone has any other options other than a digital frame (I was even considering a small, portable DVD player that would play photos & vids burned to a disc, but that's getting sort of ridiculous), I'm open to suggestions.
    Thanks so much.

  • Need information on USB frame grabber Labview compatible (planning to buy)

    Hello all,
I am looking USB based frame grabbers which are compatible with LabVIEW only.  I need atleast 50 frames/sec acquisition rate. I am using PULNIX P2013P analog or monochrome CCIR camera with LabVIEW 8.2 version. Please suggest me any of such frame grabbers even third party products if they are available and also only compatible with LabVIEW.
    regards
    visu

There are no USB frame grabber cards provided by NI. The only form factors that are supported for frame grabbers are PCI, PCI-e and the PXI platform. If you are interested in using USB cameras, then all you need is NI-IMAQ for USB driver (the driver is not officially supported by NI) and a USB camera that is supported by the driver.

  • Using an iMovie on a digital picture frame

My sister is developing an iMovie that will be played during our mother's 90th birthday party. After the party, we'll want to put that iMovie on a digital picture frame that we haven't purchased yet. What things should we consider to select a digital picture frame that will be compatible with iMovies?

What movie format does the picture frame require?

  • Small Business Server 2003 Compatibility with Oracle 10G, licensing?

    Hello all,
Is Windows SBS 2003 compatible with Oracle 10G, I looked at the compatibility and didn't notice it but I wanted to see if anyone here had any experience with the two.

The licensing isn't by cpu slots, it's by the number
of cores times a multipier, which I believe for intel
is .5, so if you have a cpu w/ 2 cores, you would
purchase a 1 cpu license. If you have a quad core
cpu, you would need to purchase a 2 cpu license. I
would definitely talk to your sales rep about this to
make sure the multipier is right (and if it has
changed w/ intel quad technology). Thanks Jim. The multiplier used above for Intel is indeed correct. However, Oracle has (in the last few weeks) introduced the term 'socket' into it's licensing metrics as follows:
"When licensing Oracle programs with Standard Edition One or Standard Edition in the product name, a processor is counted equivalent to an occupied socket. See http://www.oracle.com/corporate/pricing/technology-price-list.pdf "
    To quote another source (CRN):
"..Standard Edition was licensed for servers with up to four single-core processor cores. For multicore chips, users could only license it for up to eight cores total. Oracle's formula was to multiply the number of cores by 0.50 to get the CPU license number to determine price. So a four-core box counted as two CPUs.
Now Standard Edition can be licensed on servers with up to four sockets, or four processors running one-, two- or four-core chips (and possibly a higher number of cores)." This source overlooks to mention that the multiplier relates to Intel!

  • Indexing Services 2003 Compatibility Question

    Hello,
Is Indexing Services 2003 compatible with Windows Server 2012 R2?  (We have a legacy application that uses it still.)
If so, how do you configure Indexing Services 2003 in Windows Server 2012?
Also is Indexing Services 2003 the same thing as Windows Search Service?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Indexing Service is an indexing solution that is included with Windows Server 2008 and was part of previous releases of Windows. We could not install it on Windows Server 2012 R2.
Windows Search Service offers several enhancements over Indexing Service, especially in the areas of extensibility, usability, and performance. If you have applications that require Indexing Service, we recommend that you upgrade them to be compatible with
    Windows Search Service.

  • Windows 2003 on T61 wireless adapter not showing

I have 7658( CTO) T61 with XP pro.... I downgraded windows 2003 enterprise edition SP2. i have few questions
    1. I changed the bios to compatibility mode ( I keep sata then win 2003 not booting, so changed to compatability  mode). Is it required that I keep compatability mode.?
     2. Wireless adapter is not working ( not showing at all). It is PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_1014&SUBSYS_058A1014&REV_01\4&29E2C51B&0&00E1
I downloaded and tried many drivers from lenovo website but is not working.
I have struggled for a week and searched many forums but nothing is helping me out. Please help me.

You will need the Windows 2003 compatible SATA drivers to stop using compatibility mode. I don't know if they exist... good luck there. Try Intel's web site since you probably have an Intel chipset.
As for the wireless adapter, again it may be a matter of Win2003 not recognizing the device. I would try and manually install several drivers and see which one may work. You may have to force-feed Win2003 since it doesn't recognize the hardware. Be sure you know the manufacturer of the wireless chip... Intel or Broadcom or Atheros? Look at the specs for your laptop.

  • Create link to Microsoft Word document

    Hi All!
I'm using Frame 7.2 and WebWorks just so you know that my file is being converted to html.
I am trying to create a link to a Word document, that shows a Word icon (not the title of the document) with a pop-up (mouseover) that describes the "action" (something like: to open the worksheet, click here.)
    Any ideas?
    Cindy

    Hello CindyLL,
You might try the following (assuming that you use WebWorks 2003)
    1. Use a special paragraph format in FM for paragraphs that contain such a link (e.g. "Link_PDF")
    2. In WWP2003 map a special WebWorks Format to this FM Format
    3. In the macro tab of this FM format add html code that
    * displays a word icon
    * and give it an alt-text that says "Click the link" or whatever
    Hope this helps,
    Franz.

  • SharePoint 2013 Foundation error when uploading Excel files

    Hello
I have a specific problem. I have an xlsx file that I cannot upload in SharePoint. Normally our SharePoint can upload Excel files and other file formats normally but this one has data with nearly 5000 rows. The size of the file is less then 500 KB. The error
message is: "The URL is invalid. Perhaps it refers to a nonexistent file or folder, or it refers to a valid file or folder in the current Web." When I am uploading this file I am getting the same error message in every library. When I save
the file as a 97-2003 compatible xls then it works. Sometimes even Excel files with Macros won't upload.
    Kind regards
    ivicapro1987

    Hi,
This issue occurs when the Version column is configured as an Indexed Column.
To work around this issue, remove the Version column from the list of Indexed Columns for the list that has this issue. To do this, follow these steps:
Browse to the list where the issue exists.
In the ribbon, click the Library tab, and then click
    Library Settings.
In the fields list, click Indexed Columns.
In the Indexed Columns list, click Version.
Click Delete, and then click OK.
Upload any files that you previously experienced the issue with.

  • Can not open a report in XLTX format

I have created several BPC reports and save them in XLTX format,  one of them can not be opened with the following message "Excel cannot open file because the file  format or extension is not valid," anybody has this kind experience and know hot to fix it?

    Jianbai,
Known issues with BPC and Office Excel 2007 and opening with 2003.
You might want to check a client machine where this occurs to see if they still have excel 2003 installed also with Excel 2007
There is a Work around you can try: We recommend installing the office compatibility pack via the following URL:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=941b3470-3ae9-4aee-8f43-c6bb74cd1466&displaylang=en
    a) Install 'Compatibility Pack for the 2007 Office system' file on
client machine which has Office 2003.
    b) Change file extension 'xls' or 'xlt' to 'xlsx'.
    c) Open template.
Note: Please be careful with the file format while saving it from Excel 2007. Even though the file extension is xls, it doesn't mean the format is really 2003 compatible.
Let me know if this help resolve this issue.

  • PDF Maker Mail Merge error

I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and Office 2007 operating on Windows XP SP3.
I have been using a Mail Merge word doc for sending out mulitple documents as attachments on emails.
I have tried to use the Merge to Adobe PDF option and the Mail Merge under the Adobe menu and get the same response on both options:
"Word experienced a serious problem with the 'acrobat pdfmaker office com addin' add-in. If you have seen this message multiple times, you should disable this add-in and check to see if an update is available. Do you want to disable this add-in?"
    Any suggestions?

I'm sure glad someone seems to be having success finding work arounds...
    I'm running Vista SP1, Office 2007 SP1, Acrobat Standard 8.1.5
I am trying to merge a newletter with an address list to PDF files which I then bulk send to print because I get labeled and stapled mail ready documents as output. The source merge file is DOC (2003 compatible) and I have tried saving it as a DOCx file as well.
Very mixed results with no rhyme or reason... frequently end with the ""Word experienced a serious problem with the 'acrobat pdfmaker office com addin' add-in..."
I find no weird characters to remove, running the review feature first didn't help...

  • Excel from 50KB to 18MB from Simple File Save As ??!!

See this discussion for more detail and sample files. The files do contain very short macros and are safe - I have viewed them myself:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2010-excel/excel-2010-limit-number-of-row-and-columns/a37fcf66-b103-49ea-9e4e-65b3fab69824
Basically you take a file created in Excel 2010 or 2013 (and presumably 2007) that is a .xlsm file.  Use File Save As and save it as a 97-2003 compatible .xls file, and suddenly it jumps to 18MB in size!  Opening the .xls file in 2010/2013 and
resaving it as a .xlsm file (under a new name) will result in it returning to a smaller size, but still significantly larger than the original.  In this case the original is 48KB, goes to 18+MB as a .xls file, then back down to 107KB when saved again
    as a .xlsm file.
The big question is WHY!! Why should a 48K .xlsm file end up as a 18MB file through no other action besides a Save As to the 97-2003 file format?
I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do. RAH

I am sorry, but this does not answer the problem - did you read the post I made originally?
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2010-excel/excel-2010-limit-number-of-row-and-columns/a37fcf66-b103-49ea-9e4e-65b3fab69824
As long as I use the Excel 2000 .xls and save it back as .xls Excel 2010 does not bloat the file, how is this explained when 2010 bloats Excel 2010 .xlsm files saved as .xls files?

  • Save as HTML - tables?

    Hello,
we are trying to save the FM document as HTML using the built in save as functionality. The tables are exported, but no ruling/borders and straddling information is reflected in the output HTML.
Does anybody know if there is a way to make FM to export tables with formatting information or any tool that is able to do that?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Viktor

    FM10.
I don't have FM10, and haven't tried HTML generation since FM6 or so, but anyone who can help needs to know the version.
but no ruling/borders and straddling information is reflected in the output HTML.
The FM10 on-line help says, in the Troubleshooting and tips on HTML conversion
Make sure the table formats you use have regular ruling lines defined for at least one body row. Otherwise, the HTML tables will have no lines around table cells.
I would expect straddles to be converted to spans, since HTML has attributes for that.
can you suggest some 3rd party sw?
I'm not sure that's necessary or desired. Earlier versions of Frame used WebWorks Publisher. HTML generation is now built in. I don't know if you can even get WWP for FM10, or if it would provide any features not standard in FM10.
