Frame external web page

Hi,
I wish to frame an external web page with the header, side
nav and footer of one of my internal pages.
Here is an example of a page where the external page is
framed by the header with nav links working?
How can I do this using DW MX 2004?

Can I embed an external web page?

In Rapidweaver you can make a frame on a page and within the frame show an external web page. I would like to do the same in iweb.
I'm trying to embed my Blogger page so that people will be able to access it from with in my web site. I want them to be able to read and comment without leaving my site. I've been using iweb enhancer but do not understand what code to insert for this. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks .

actually figured it out using the code from the
google calander insert on one of my pages and
replacing the url inside. Basically what you
suggested. BTW I inserted the code following the
directions of iweb enhancer and it did the trick
after a bit o tweeking with size.

Problem when using inlineFrame to include external web page.

I built a ADF web application which include some external web pages.
I use the ADF components: panelTabbed + showDetailItem + inlineFrame.
Each tab is point to a external web page. see my code belows:

It almost done except one thing: When I switched the tab back and forth, the input parameter in the previous tab will be lost.
It seems af:inlineFrame always reload the page and clear every input by user !
How to preserve the user input when switched the tab back and forth?

External web page in iWeb's template...

Ok, I just downloaded the demo of RapidWeaver and there was a feature called iFrame. IFrame allows an external web page to be displayed in the theme of your site. I have a store on my site that I had coded in PHP and HTML by hand, and have no real way to incorporate the page into my iWeb theme. Currently, I link to another place on my server, but the theme/ navigation bar is no longer available and it looks really unprofessional. If someone knows how to make something like iFrame work in iWeb, please let me know.

Get External web page

I am trying to fetch an external web page and store it in Oracle on a periodic basis.
I am trying to create a Java Stored procedure that grabs the page and stores it in a table.
I am having troble using url.openstream()
Any ideas?

Embed SharePoint Calendar to External Web Page

I would like to embed a SharePoint Calendar to an external public web page. This is very easy to do with google calendars and I have been struggling trying to find a solution in SharePoint.

The client side object model could do this in combo with a SPQuery. Microsoft has extended SharePoint 2010 to include lots of JavaScript connectors. They have also opened the ablility to include the JavaScript Libraries in External Applications. The
thread which would be returned from SharePoint would be in JSON format. Here is a blog post overview this ability.

The DLL's behind this from MS allow access to almost any object inside SharePoint. Microsoft has opened the ability to place these in external applications, they are
Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.DLL and Microsoft.SharePoint.CLient.Runtime.dll you can find these on your SharePoint Server at c:\Programs files\common files\Microsoft Shared\WEb Server Extensions\14\isapi folder.

If you have done dev work on SharePoint you have used SPListItem which allows that access of list (calendars are lists). In the client side object model you ListItem from with JavaScript.
Working with the list data.
As I noted before, the ListItem is the same this as SPListItem. You reference an existing ListItem as a member of a ListItemCollection object.

New Web Form Based on Frames for Web Page Composer

Hi,
We are trying to build the below scenario of New Custom Web Form to use in Web Page Composer for Web Site Creation.
We want to use the Web Form for Having Frames in the Output and
Left Frame will contain the Table of Content List
Right Frame Will Have the Details of the Selected Table of Content.
I have Created the XML File and Now Trying to develop the XSL File to use frames.
Any Ideas and Suggesstions on this?

If you export the project as exp file and open it with a zip file reader, you can find your forms under forms/ui/.
I personnaly could always see them whatever the tool (jdev or composer) and the way (file or MDS) i used.

HTTP External Web Page Link Question

I found the following info when searching this group:
To open an URL from within a Designer generated form you will need to use the gotoURL method of the xfa.host object.
i.e. xfa.host.gotoURL("http://www.cnn.com");
You will need to create a object such as a button that when clicked will execute the above script.
My question is how do I do this? For example if I drag a button on to my form please tell me EXACTLY what I need to do after that. I'm sorry but I do not know what is the xfa.host object. I tried right clicking on the button but every option I tried did not work.

The Current option will launch the new web page in the same window as the Captivate course is playing. This will effectively mean that you leave the Captivate lesson and would need to relaunch the lesson again from the beginning. New - launches the URL in a new browser window. Parent and Top are not likely to be useful to you because they are only used when your course HTM page is playing in some kind of frameset with multiple levels. Parent refers to the frame in which your current window is playing. Top refers to the frame at the very top of the window hierarchy.
In your case you need to use the New option so that your user does not leave the Captivate lesson. Your new window will open on top of the Captivate lesson and when they are finished with that window they can just close it to get back to the Captivate lesson underneath.
Since you are launching your other URL via a button in Captivate, you need to remember this has only one pause point. As soon as you click that button the pause is released and Captivate will continue play. If you want this button to be permanently paused, you can do this using Advanced Actions.
Create an Advanced Action with two clauses. In the example below, I've called the AA LaunchURLandStayPaused. The first clause launches your URL, and the second clause will reset the value of the system variable that tracks the movies current frame. This effectively negates the pausing behaviour.
Set the On Success action of the button to Execute Advanced Action and then select the new Advance Action you just created from the drop-down menu.
You'll need to set up another button or click box for the user to click when they DO want to advance to the next slide.

Hi everyone,
is it possible to display an external webpage by, for example, specifying the URL of the page? It would work a bit like frames.
I have a table with a list of reports, each of which links to a "report". all data is obtained from a database.
We need to be able to click a report and have it load it into some sort of panel or layout container based on the URL. I know how to do it using links in the table to open a new page. but i do not want the user to navigate away from the page or have a popup when selecting a link. i'd place the "report placeholder" in a layout panel with scroll css settings.
I wouldn't mind working with frames either.
could anyone suggest a nice mechanism to either load an external page in the same one being viewed or a solution using frames (is it even possible to use frames in JSC2 and JSF??)?
i don't need anyone to give me a whole code, just the idea behind developing something like this.

I did the following to display an external website:

However, I read that it is also possible by putting a markup component with tag attribute set to "iframe" but I did not have a chance to test it yet.

How do I add links to external web pages or email addresses?

I need to add a link to another website like "http://www.example.com" and add mailto links to email addresses like "[email protected]". How do I do this?

Problems invoking external web page that requires authentication

We have a web service deployed to OAS 10. This web service needs to be able to open a URL and read the results. This URL requires authentication.
We have a subclass of Authenticator that provides the user name and password.
When we run this web service using the debugger from JDeveloper, it works just fine. However, when deployed to the app server, it fails.
java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 401 for URL: http://... at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream(HttpURLConnection.java:1149)
I've stripped out the URL details, but it's invoking a report using Microsoft's SQL Reporting Services.
If I read the error stream, it indicates that request couldn't be authenticated.
So, I'm hoping some people here can point me at what's different between the debugger environment and the application server environment. We suspect that it may be related to permissions in a java policy file, or perhaps some other file from which the application server derives its permissions. But our fiddling with these hasn't helped so far.
So, any ideas as to what went wrong? Ideas on how to open things up so this works?

401 indicates authentication failure, as you have stated. Once deployed, have you attempted to access the report URL using the uname\pword combination with the strings which are hard-coded in your subclass? You can turn up logging to FINEST and customize what logging on the server returns. Login to your OAS administration portal and review the logging options there. If you start the server from the command line, you can view the output there real-time.

Opening a secure web page from oracle forms for credit card validation

Hi All,
I searched for the topic in the forms forum but couldn't find a solution.
Requirement: As per some compliance, our application cannot do a credit card validation from our forms application, instead we need to use a java code which a third party will provide ,it's an iframe (they say, i am layman when it comes to Java, don't know what is it), but they say that, within your forms application you call our iframe do the credit card validation over there get a token of response back from us and use this token as a confirmation in your application.
Problem: I could not find a solution anywhere wherein i can call a web page from forms. Now, this web page should be modal, i.e. unless i close this page i cannot access my forms application. Please guide me if anyone has done that.
Secondly if i could make it work, how will i communicate with this external web page, like getting back some token value and use it back in my forms application. I am completely clueless.
As we are using Oracle designer for generating forms, we cannot use a bean type thing as designer does not have the bean-item type defined!
Appreciate if anyone could provide me pointers for a solution to this problem statement.

The simple way to do it is to use a PJC (java bean) + apache httpclient library..
If you have a webservice than you can use Axis library and wsdl2java to create java classes from wsdl.
also you can use httpclient library to simulate http protocol (request/response actions)..
(for example.. you have a credit card number.. you post this number to specified URL and then you parse the response from credit card validation server)..
Post here some documentation (specification) on how to call the credit card validation .. (maybe it's a secure webservice?)
