Frame fast forwarding when watching recorded BT Sp...

Hi  - new to YouView and to BT Sport.
When I watch any recorded programme from freeview channels, the fast forward button allows me (a) to forward through all the frames and (b) to pick the speed at which I forward.
When watching a recorded BT Sport programme, the fast forward button (a) jumps me forward about a minute a time rather than seeing all the frames and (b) will only let me forward a minute at time, which is very tedious when I want to whizz through a 5 hr programme.
Do you know why this is?
Thanks, any help much appreciated.

Hi vicmuggeridge,
I've had a word with my colleague about this and they've said that the current behaviour on internet channels on YouView is to skip forward (1 minute at a time) and skip back (15 seconds).
All the best,
Robbie

  • ITunes fast forwards when mouse is on song

I just got a MacBook Pro and use a wireless mouse(brand is Targus if that helps) which works fine for everything on it except when I roll over a song in iTunes while it's playing and it send itunes into a fast forward frenzy. It just moves and moves until I move the mouse and and then the songs play normally. I though it was a mouse issue but I think it's something with the iTunes after reading this forum.
Anyone know how to fix this or what's wrong? I really appreciate the help

  • Auto Fast-Forward when buffering airport?

    Hello,
I have noticed a problem in iTunes ever since I upgraded to iTunes 7.
It is, that when I begin to play music on my Airport Express, iTunes will begin the song in fast-forward, and not in play. To correct, I have to pause and un-pause. Once I fix it, it wont happen again until iTunes stops completely and starts again, (usually when I quit). Not a huge bug, just want to know if there are any common fixes.
    I have 7.0.2.
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

I have that problem all the time with synced HD video. If I fast forward or rewind, the video will start sputtering after that. I don't think it's your network, it's probably a glitch in the ATV.
In any case, if you're streaming from a Mac via wifi, make sure you turn Time Capsule off. If it starts running while you're streaming, it will definitely degrade performance.

  • Fast forward problems with 2nd room DVR

I am enjoying my new FIOS set up very much.  I have the Home Media option on my HD DVR and STBs.  I'm having trouble with the "Fast Forward" when watching shows in my "non" DVR room.  When the show is longer than about 45 minutes... after scanning thru commericals the program jumps back to the beginning.  This is very frustrating and in some ways defeats the purpose of the multi-room option.  I'm considering canceling this option but wanted to check first to see if there's an easy fix.
    Thanks in advance.
    Arnie

    Hey nascar,
All three problems are reported issues and due up to be fixed.  The first of your problems isnt a problem with the site, as it is a problem with IMG.  The DVR content isnt being flagged properly after finishing it.  Number two, you already know what is causing it.  I don't know too much about this problem as ad insertion is handled on the network level.  I do know they are reporting to be working on a fix at this time.  Only a few areas at this time experience this problem as verizon does not locally insert ads in every market.  Number three has been around for a while. We have attempted to fix it but the "fix" actually broke more things than it fixed so we had to pull it off the boxes.  This one is still a work in progress to be fixed.

  • How can I 'program' DVD SP to fast forward?

I am building a 2 min. video, and would like to be able to set it up so that one can scroll through (fast forward) while watching it.  Would this mean setting up an End Jump?  Which brings me to my next question -- I did not set up an End Jump, because I wanted the DVD to stop at the end of the video, however, it loops, which isn't what I want.  So, I'd like to be able to scroll through it (fast forward), and end at the end...thank you!!

  • Firefox crashes when I try to rewind or fast forward netflix?

I have a weird problem with netflix I've been dealing with for awhile and it BUGS me to no end.
Whenever I try to fast forward or rewind on netflix, the browser freezes up and then my whole computer is frozen and dead.
I can click on the progress bar of netflix to wherever, and the little red circle appears and spins for about 4 seconds, and then it just freezes up and a few seconds later my whole computer is pretty much useless and I'm forced to just shut it down improperly.
It's not a huge deal I guess, I just try not to ever need to rewind a little bit when I miss something, but when I do need to, it's annoying as heck.
I use firefox, because I also have a problem watching netflix on chrome (it's choppy and I can't figure that out either, I've tried everything) so my preferred browser of choice is firefox for netflix) but this issue is getting annoying. (If it makes a difference, I can fast forward or rewind netflix fine on chrome, I've tried it just today).
I've figured out that if I rewind and give it like 3 seconds (right before I know its about to crash) and then hit the refresh button, usually my video will reload to the place I wanted to be at.
Anyway, help would be awesome. Thank you :)

  • Is there a way to speed up the pace of the video (watch in fast-forward) I am watching?

I am watching a class lesson that is 3 hours long and my teacher talks extremely slow. Is there a way to speed up the pace of my video? I know on some video players you can watch a video in 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 etc. levels of fast forward.

Have you got the drives set up to spin down when not in use?
Have a look at the Energy Saver settings in System Preference on the Mac.
Make sure the "Put the Hard Discs to sleep when possible" box is not ticked.

  • DVD Player hangs when Fast Forward (F9) or Rewind (F7) buttons pushed

When I push and hold down the fast forward and rewind keys in DVD Player, the video does indeed fast forward and reverse. But when I push and immediately release, the picture freezes, and the computer hangs. Cannot do shut down, have to do shut down by holding on/off button and then restarting.
Very frustrating, lost a bunch of notes I was taking while watching the lecture. Any thoughts?
    Sigh,
    Dave

Also, if you're at the computer or have a wireless keyboard, hold down the apple key (command) and and press an arrow key for FF and RW. Pressing again should step up the speed, depending on the capabilities of the 11D. Mine (104D) can FF up to . . . I think it's 32 times?
If you have the apple remote, it's press and hold.

  • Can't Fast-Forward or Rewind when iTunes is minimized

When iTunes is minimized and I hold down the right arrow to fast forward, the track only advances like 6 sec and continues to play. BUT when it's expanded it continues to fast-forward until I let go.
This never happend before I upgraded to iTunes6.
Is anyone else having this problem?

Really? Sorry to hear that. It fixed it just fine for me. (I say that now, but watch it not work for me soon. heh) I didn't have to re-start for it to work, so.
I wonder what it is that is making it work or not work for different users.

  • Media Error when fast forwarding downloaded videos from Video Store

I can't fast forward videos I have purchased and downloaded from the Video Store.  I get the error message "Media error please try again." When I click OK the video closes. This is very frustrating since the video player does not recognize and remember where you left off when you restart it. For a 2 hour movie, I have to watch the whole thing again.  Is this a known issue or is there some issue with my PlayBook?   I have a 32 gig Playbook, brand new with OS 2.1.
    Any help would be appreciated.

This happens to me when a video is not properly downloaded. In effect, the file is not complete even though the download appears to have been successful and the file information shows that the full length is there. I check downloaded videos first by dragging the video slider button left to right and observing if the video moves forward. If the image freezes at a certain point, I know the video is incomplete. If I release the video slider button at that point, the player gives an error and closes. The only solution then is to get a complete downloaded file.
The only other easy check to see if you in fact have the entire video is to check the file size. If it is much less than the advertised size of file from the store, then the file definitely did not download completely.

  • When will the ip channel fast forward /rewind get ...

I was hoping that this long awaited update would Fox the fast forward and rewind of Internet channels to function the same as normal channels but no such luck.
This is so annoying it fast forwards a full minute but then rewinds in like 15 seconds intervals.
    Is this being worked on?
On a happier note I love that the record light comes on when the box is in standby now.

The info we got was that this won't change as the coding the ip channels use can't be decoded fast enough for visible ff and rew, so I wouldn't hold out too much hope for this ever changing. I actually find going forward in 1 minute chunks works better than the visual ff as I always miss the start and have to rew again and for large jumps just stop the play and move fast up the timeline or input the exact minutes

  • When watching my Apple TV (3rd gen) the picture jumps a few frame every few seconds, this happens when I rent a film or play back from my new Mac Pro, my Wifi is the Airport Express.

When watching my Apple TV (3rd gen) the picture jumps a few frames every few seconds, this happens when I rent a film or play back from my new Mac Pro, my Wifi is the Airport Express.

These may be different issues, but lets look at rentals first.
Poor motion can result from mismatched output. If your source is 24 or 30 fps you should set the output of the Apple TV to 60 Hz, for 25 fps content use 50 Hz.
Additionally motion software on the TV itself can cause the picture to jump, check your TV settings and turn off any motion settings in use,

  • Ipod touch recorded video choppy when watch on my PC

When I try to watch recorded videos on my PC they are extremly choppy. I have tried to watch in Quick time but the color is off and no sound. When I try to watch in picasa it is too choppy/jerky to watch with no sound. How can I watch my recorded videos on my pc?

Maybe since your pc is running XP that it isn't fully compatible and it doesn't read the video from the ipod touch as it would on a new operating system? Have you tried a friends computer? I would try that.

  • My screen goes blank when I fast forward

Is there something wrong or is this normal?  This happens when I use Airplay to stream something from my Ipad 2 like youtube

I think you are misunderstanding the progress bar on the Apple TV.
The white bar tells you how much of the video the Apple TV has downloaded this can happen faster than Realtime and usually does. The second part to the progress bar is the play head, the play head shows you where you are in the movie.
So for example, when you start a movie the play head is at the beginnin,g as is the white download progress bar. After let's say a minute (of lets say a 30 minute video), the play head will be 1/30th of the way along but the white progress bar maybe 1/4 of the way along, meaning that about 7 1/2 minutes of the video have buffered to the Apple TV.
If at this stage you were to fast forward the video,; whilst the play head is moving within the portion of the white progress bar you will see the video moving quickly. However, once it gets to the end of the white progress bar it runs out of buffered video, and then will show you a black screen, because it has no more video to play.
