Frame ordering in Zeri fragments

I have a stream that stops playing back in Zeri player after the first few seconds (probably plays just the first fragment). I have another version of the same stream that plays fine. The difference is that the one that works correctly has the audio and video frames interleaved such that the DTS is always increasing.
E.g.
Does not work:

DTS = 40
Audio frame 2
DTS = 23
Audio frame 3
DTS = 46

Works:

Can anyone confirm if the Zeri player expects the timestamps to increase monotonically across the audio or video tracks?

I have implemented HDS using Zeri SDK. In my implementation, I create f4f fragments with time ordered interleaving of audio and video frames. That's audio and video frames are interleaved with increasing order of PTS.
I remember facing similar issue during the development. If fragments were created with interleaving of audio and video frames with random time order, then OSMF player didn't play the stream.

HD 3-2 frame order

The show I am working on just went HD. The editors (Avid Media Composer) are sending us clips that are 59.94 fps. The problem is that they are coming to us with a full frame 3-2 frame order. No, fields, just frames ordered AA BBB CC DDD EE FFF etc. I need to do roto and motion tracking, which is not pretty under these circumstances. I manually stripped out the frame repeats but it was a pain. Is anyone else dealing with this? Is there a way to automate this? TIA.

I work on a major network (ABC) TV show. Accoding to the editors all of ABCs shows are posted and delivered in 59.94p format. The Avids convert the 24p footage to this format on import. Our graphics department figured out that we could convert back to 24p by bringing the footage in and applying posterized time and then recomping into a 23.976 comp. We have to slide the footage in the precomp a frame or two to get it not to repeat frames, but it seems to work. I suspect others will start seeing this soon as well.

QMASTER/SHAKE Frame Order

Hello,
Anyone know how to make it so Qmaster Clusters render in order, insted of the distrobuted frames? I am rendering about 8,000 2k frames and the way it renders now is frames 1-200, 400-800, 1200-1400, etc... and so on, so if the nodes crashes, I have to fill the gaps of the frames. Can be very tedious..
Anyone know how to make it so the clusters render in a count order, 1, 2, 3, .... so if the cluster crashes I can just start over and continue, insted of having to fill the gaps?

I just wanted to follow-up on this problem. Seems as though the root cause is the Perian QT plugin. There seem to be many reports on this list of this exact problem and the solution has always been to remove Perian.
Unfortunately, my camera produces an AVI using the Xvid codec which QuickTime does not understand, and Perian is the recommended plug-in to handle it. Perian otherwise seems to decode it nicely and the playback in QuickTime is just fine. The problem is FCE's interaction with it, somehow. I don't know if this is a Perian bug or an FCE bug.
I have looked for replacement Xvid decoders other than Perian, and have found a couple. But the main problem with those is that now audio doesn't work when playing my clips. There was one audio solution to the non-audio problem posted, but in chasing it down, the developer no longer even maintains a download page, stating that the A52Codec is now part of "Perian", install that instead:

Argh! Why can't Apple make us a decent Xvid codec for QuickTime???
Does anyone have a direct solution without having to convert the AVI Xvid stream to something 10x larger for FCE to use more directly? My understanding is that FCE does all of its encoding/decoding using QuickTime, so in theory the Perian Xvid support should handle it, aside from the frame ordering glitches. But when I convert my 719 MB AVI Xvid clip to DV/DVPRO - NTSC that is more palatable for FCE, the resultant clip grows dramatically to 6.58 GB and I will inevitably require 10x disk storage which will get very expensive. So that solution is sub-optimal, not to mention the time required to convert the clip, it takes a long time and I generally have about a dozen to do after a day of capture.
Has anyone solved this? If so, please share your solution.

Images in roll are in reverse frame order

Greetings from a Mac and iPhoto newbie,
I just had 7 rolls worth of 35mm film negs scanned to (7) CDs by the local drugstore and I loaded the photos onto iPhoto. No problem there, but I then realized that the lab had scanned my photos in reverse order (ie. frame #1 is now 24, frame 2 is 23, etc.)
So now my photos appear as an iPhoto "roll" backwards from how they were shot in the camera. I suppose I could manually change the time on each and every photo to force it to whatever order I want, but that would be a bit of work to do.
My question: Is there an easy way to reverse the photo order on each of the rolls?

The files will be sorted by the capture date or, in the case of scanned files, the scanned or modified date of the file. This will reverse when you change the ascending to descending. If the files were scanned you need to check the which date of the actual file that is being used. PhotoInfo can open a folder of files and display and change the capture date. Try it to see if there is a capture date and what is the order of the dates.
If it's the captured or modified date that's being used the only application that can change those is Mira. The downside to it is that all files in a folder are batched changed to the same date and time (if you select the time option). There's no option to add a delta time between each subsequent file.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

How do i export photos to a sd card in the order I arranged them in

My mother and I are putting together a digital picture frame album using an sd card. The pictures are in order in an album in iphoto, and a folder on my desktop, but when we drag the folder to the sd card and insert it into the frame the pictures are not in the order we arranged them. The pictures are always out of order. Any help is greatly appreciated, THANKS!

Think about how computers work - file do not have "an order" you view them with a program that puts them in an order - in the finder this may be by file name, creation date, modification date, size, etc - in iPhoto it can be by a manual sort, by photo date, etc
So the solution is to understand and see how the photo frame orders photos adn then export the files using something that keeps that order - for example if you are going to be viewing them in date order then manually sor tthem and use the batch change date/time command to set them to accending dates so the photo frame displays the way you want
The order the photo frame displays has nothing to do with iPhoto but you probalby can use iPhoto to set photo or file attributes to accomplish what you want

When I send an SMS message from my Text Message Forwarding enabled Macbook to an Android, it breaks the message up into several out of order chunks. Is there a solution to this?

I have a 2012 Macbook Air and an iPhone 5, both with up-to-date software. When I set up Text Message Forwarding, everything went according to plan, until I sent a relatively wordy text to a friend (from my Macbook) to a friend on an Android phone. It chopped the text up into several 2 line fragments, and delivered them in seemingly random order. The fragments were specifically 2 lines, and not 160 characters, which is the "limit" you used to get on old SMS messages. It continues to happen.

Are you using any emoji, or accented characters? If so, try not to. Also, I recall something about a double space at the very end of the text. Unfortunately, I don't remember if you should use them or avoid them.. Beyond that, there's not much you can do. How the text is delivered is under control of the carrier.

Message order in Papyrus sequence diagram xmi file

Dear all,
I would like to ask you if you could help me by explaining me how message ordering information of Papyrus sequence diagrams is represented in the corresponding xmi files.
For each lifeline, I would assume that the order of messages is shown in the xmi file in the coveredBy attribute of the respective lifeline element.
If yes, I have observed that the order there is not shown correctly. Adding a message seems to be always appended at the end of the messages list, instead of being inserted inbetween its neighbouring messages.
If no, then how can I get from the xmi file the message order for a single lifeline?
I am using just two simple lifelines exchanging messages, without any combined fragments or complex notation. My Eclipse version is Luna, and I just downloaded the Papyrus 1.1.0 version, the one that Mars uses.

Since I haven't still got any answer, let me rephrase the question and make it more general:
Do Papyrus sequence diagrams store message order information?
As far as I have understood, they should, but I believe that it is a Papyrus bug that, when creating a new message, order of MessageOccurrenceSpecification fragments in XMI file is most frequently not respected. The same can be seen from the MessageOccurrenceSpecification fragments in the Model Explorer for the respective interaction in Papyrus IDE, order of them frequently seems random.
Another thing which I strongly believe is a bug is that, when creating a new combined fragment sometimes the lifeline information of message events in the XMI file gets lost (attribute 'coveredBy' of each lifeline, and attribute 'covered' of each MessageOccurenceSpecification fragment get blank).
In any case, I would be really grateful if someone could answer my initial question so that I know that these assumptions are correct, find a way to temporarily circumvent the problem and file a bug report about that.

OS version HP-UX B.11.31 U ia64
DB size : 2TB
We have the above configuration for one of our oracle database. One of our DBA acts like he is only the person on this earth who is managing the process of fragmentation removal from the tablespaces in order to improve the performance and wastage of the space. He performs that task at weekends and takes one-off day extra. I am not sure how the fragmentation removal improves the performance and deallocates the space.
Is it compulsory to perform the rebuild process weekly in order to remove fragmented space from tablespaces?
Do we have any other method to automatically re-organize objects occupying waste space?
Why the reuild of indexes using separate tablespace improves performance? is there any specifi reason for it?
Please help understand the process.

What types of queries you run mostly on your database system is it DML of Select queries? Rebuild might or might not increase in performance for Select query.

Animation frames vanishing?

I have noticed a distracting problem with my copy of CS6 as of the last few months.
I tend to do my artwork in half screen mode so I can watch a movie on the other half while I work. This is pretty easy for me once I got a comfortable layout for my tool bars. However, when I do an animation, things start going sideways.
Full screen mode, the animation panel is there in all its glory.
I drop the window down into its locked position at the bottom and the frames are still there.
But as soon as I go half screen, all the frames vanish and no amount of clicking, pleading, or praying will get them to reappear unless I either remove the window from its locked position into a free floating window (where it gets in the way of EVERYTHING) or I take the whole program back into full screen mode (so I can't watch my show on the other half.)
This is getting really inconvenient with my current animation project since I can't really stay focused unless I have a show on at the same time. Is there some sort of a setting somewhere that I botched to make this happen?

It sounds like in you animation each frame is a single layer not a composite of several layers. In the case there may be a couple of scripts the could help you do what you want or you could write one. If your layers stack is in frame order. Writing you own would best best, Only one would be needed. The two scripts are save layers to files and the second Paul's load files into a strip. You may be able to modify Paul's Load images into strip to just process your layers stack. If you don't know scripting you may be able to create an action to do one layer at a time. There may be a problem with alignment if each frame layer dosn't have at least one pixel on the right edge of the frame. You would start using the action with the bottom layer in the stack targeted then just play it over and over till you have your strip,
The action would be quite simple.
Step 1 will add canvas the width of a frame to the right side of the document. Canvas Size anchor point left center box, Relative checked and width set to frame width.
Step 2 Select All.
Step 3 (ALT|OPT+]) target next layer higher in stack.
Step 4 menu layer>Align Layers to Selection>Right Edge.
You could also record a second action to play that action 100 time. Just record one play stem and then dupe the step 100 times.

Do text frames have an (internal) "number / creation date"?

Assumption:
I suspect, that (automatic list + paragraph) numbering depends on when a text frame was created.
Situation:
I have made a paragraph text style with paragraph numbering and list numbering. Works fine, so far: I can even create multiple text frames (the three green ones in the below picture) that are not connected with / chained to each other and the numbering still is correct.
Problem:
But when I create a new text frame (with the color pink in the picture) later on, which shall be inserted as e.g. second in order, the numbering still orientates at the frame creation. Correct would be: the pink paragraph "5. new frame" should be numbered as "3.new frame", the green paragraph "3. drei" should then be numbered as "4. drei" and so forth.
Question:
How can I change the frame creation number? Can it be changed at all?

But when dealing with an object with many pages, this can be tedious, though. So, is there another way? Is there a way to change the text frame order by e.g. entering a new value for its number somewhere within InDesign?

IDVD annoyance!!!

Okay, so I'm burning a quicktime file onto a DVD through iDVD. The entire file is actually around 12.6 GB, so I had to buy a DVD with Dual Layer so that it could actually fit. When exporting this quicktime file out of Final Cut Pro, I used the best quality possible, which is why the file is so huge (it runs about an hour long.)
The problem is every DVD I burn, the picture on the DVD is screwed up. By screwed up, I mean every time there is motion (e.g. camera movement or a zoom in on a still frame), the picture becomes fragmented and chopped up. Then it resume normal picture quality when the shot is still.
I went into iDVD and changed the General Preference setting to "Best Quality" as opposed to "Best Performance" but it really didn't help the picture at all. I was wondering what I should do in order for the picture to come out clean.
I have Final Cut Pro 3, iDVD 5.0.1.

There is a thread that was started yesterday that might help explain what is happening to your encoded video. I realize that it's talking about a different version of Final Cut, but the problem is the same nevertheless.
It has to do with a lack of bandwidth. iDVD encodes your video, but doesn't really encode the audio. Motion video requires a lot of bandwidth. The solution here would be to encode your audio to AC3, and then adjust your video settings. With the right settings, you can fit a 1 hour (20 GB) file onto a single layer DVD.
But with the tools available to you at the moment, Jerry's suggestion is the best. I'm just trying to help shed some light on what is going on.

Too Many Line Items While Creating a PO

Here we have a scenario:
We are creating a PO which is having around 10000(ten thousand) line items, and while saving system is showing error message "Too Many PO Line Items" Message No: FI899. and not able to save it.
Kindly Let me know is there any limit for line item creation in a PO.

Limitations are limitations, you need a workaround or pay SAP for an extra developement. Probably worth, if you have such POs everyday.
( I cannot even imagine for what reason a PO should have more than 10000 items. Manual maintenance is impossible, the person would sit for a week and more to finish one PO. the CSR at your vendor is as well not able to put the items from your PO into their Sales order within a reasonable time frame - order entry should be ready before delivery date is arrived.
This sounds like you want buy a company and want create just one purchase order to buy any single material they have on stock. But for that purpose the PO is certainly not designed.
Can you give more background that makes my mind open ? )
