FrameMaker 8.0p277 Crashes When Creating Postscript Files
We have an automated process that was internally created in FrameMaker 8.0p277 that takes a FrameMaker Book file that contains a large number of individual mutual fund files and breaks out each mutual fund into an individual file using the fund’s unique product code, removes sector tabs, and removes page numbers, then creates a postscript file. The user selects the functionality from a menu choice within an internally created “Marketing” menu on the FrameMaker menu bar. It is not functioning properly.
Instead it is generating error messages.
Adobe FrameMaker (Structured): FrameMaker.exe - Application Error:
The instruction at "0x00cc1940" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program.
and
Error:
Internal Error 8004, 6343116, 8 483344, 0. FrameMaker has detected a serious problem and must quit.
A file named "C:\Program Files\Adobe\FrameMaker8\FrameLog_11.10.17_07.52.51.txt" has been generated which contains information that may help Frame development improve the product for future release.
We have looked at the FrameLog_11.10.17_07.52.51.txt but it is not helping us diagnose the issue.
Can you help us determine what the problem is and how to resolve it?
Thanks for your help.
blgeorge,
you say: »It is not functioning properly.« Did it work before? What changed since then? What operating system are you using? If it is XP, have you ever installed the Microsoft printer driver hotfix?

illustrator crashes when creating a new file or opening existing - no special message. Just "illustrator has stopped working"
graphics drivers uptodate, tried uninstall, reinstall, tried cleaner, tried sign-out-of creative cloud, nothing works.
running windows 8 64bitIf it works on another account, then pretty obviously your permissions are screwed on the other account and you need to fix them...

error reaportHi Saras,
We really apologize for all the inconvenience which has caused you.
Try the steps below to check the issue.
1. Try to reset the preferences
Press Alt-Crtl-Shift on a PC as soon as you click Illustratir icon to reset the preferences to the factory defaults.
2. If that doesnt help try removing all the installed printers from the system one by one & check.
3. Also you can try to put the system in clean boot & check if the AI still crashes if you try to create a file.
In the meanwhile if these steps doesn't resolve your issues you can contact Adobe support by following the link below:

Illustrator Crashes when creating new file and opening a file
Every time I try to create a new file, or even open an existing file Illustrator crashes. I have re-installed illustrator...no luck. I have tried running Illustrator while holding SHIFT...no luck. I am using windows 7, and have no crazy drivers that I believe need to be updated.
Thank you for your help!
-PatrickHave been Googling like always after Illustrator CC crashes with these specific symptoms (Opening fine, New file of Opening existing file crashes).
All other threads had no working solution for me and the symptoms seemed little different - Opening the program and keeping it open without opening or creating a file was no problem.
This was the well-appreciated solution that did the trick for me.
Re: Illustrator CC 17.1 Crashing on New File or Open File (Win 7) works under a different user?
(In my case I think my default printer had been changed in the background by using a VPN connection this morning which I hardly use ever. Never had been thinking in that direction of course.)
Good luck to you all. -
FrameMaker 11 is crashing when we save
Please Help! FrameMaker 11 keeps crashing when we update and save the book. It is only happening in a few documents, all other documents are working fine. Attached is the error message we get.
Any help would be great, thanks!> ... wonders if the problem is because the files in the book were creating using FrameMaker older than 9.
You can rule out FM11 as the problem by downloading a trial version of FM12 and see how it handles it. If no error, Save-As FM11 and you may be good to go.
As Michael says, the MIF wash should wash out any issues in data structure; overlapping tags, that sort of thing.
Open book components separately to isolate the problem. Try turning off graphics and saving. Do a binary break down (save by halves, then halves of halves) until the problem is isolated.
It is possible for a document to acquire certain degenerate problems that will cause irremediable crashes on open. We see this rarely with the problem that causes frequent Error 7103 crashes (drag-resizing right-run-in anchored frames). I've also seen it as a consequence of structure damage caused by a crash due to a different problem, resulting in weird stuff like a document importing itself into a text frame in an anchored frame, with 99.9999% of it flowed out of sight.
If the save fail is to a network drive, rule that out by saving locally. -
SSMS crash when creating new database diagram
For several years I have been unable to create database diagrams from within SSMS. I have tried every combination of VS2005, VS2008, VS2012 and VS2013 with every combination of SQL2005, SQL2008, SQL2012 and SQL2014.
I have installed, uninstalled, and repaired many dozens of times. I am currently using VS2013 ultimate with SQL2014 express.
I have tried every related 'workaround' that I can find on the internet. Still the problem persists.
Any help would be deeply appreciated.
Here are the relevant details with file versions:
In SSMS, I right-click on a database and choose New Database Diagram. A Blank diagram window appears with the SSMS error dialog:

Programmatically creating postscript files for office documents
Hi All
I am in the process of experimenting with vb.net to open up a word document in the background and create a postscript file, which i would then use to create a pdf. This currently is a windows service and seems to run ok when the same code runs through a windows form application.
The problem i am having is with the "When creating a postscript file you have to sent the host fonts" error message, which seems to be fairly common judging by numerous articles on various forums. However, none of the solutions seem to solve my problem.
I have set the "Do Not Send Fonts To Adobe PDF" option to OFF on printer defaults, on the current printer setup and even on the printer settings for that application (go to print, properties etc from within Word).
However, whenever i run the code i get the error message. I then made the instance of word visible and checked the application settings for the adobe pdf printer.... the "Do Not Send Fonts To Adobe PDF" is now ticked. But when i close this down, and open word as a normal user would and check the setting it is off! Why would this be?
Can i programmatically change this setting when word opens and before i run the post script file creation code? Where is this value for the setting stored? I do not understand why this is resetting in the instance of word through code? Is it something to do with setting the active printer and at this point using the default setting?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
NicYou say you are doing this as Windows service – does this mean you are running this on a server of some sort? If so, that is NOT ALLOWED.

Itunes crashes when importing Music File or Folder ever since i updated it yesterday
You can try downloading 7-Zip (free), or a free trial of WinRAR, and unpack the iTunesSetup.exe or iTunesSetup64.exe file into its components then try installing them individually in alphabetical order (don't try to install SetupAdmin.exe or iCloud.msi). You may get a more useful error message as to which component has problems.

Oracle VM Server for SPARC (previously known as LDoms or Logical Domains) :
To set the number of VCPUs for a given Logical Domain (LDom), use the 'ldm(1M)' with the 'set-vcpu' option:
# /opt/SUNWldm/bin/ldm set-vcpu <number> <logical_domain>
For example to configure eight VCPUs for the Logical Domain named "ebs1":
# /opt/SUNWldm/bin/ldm set-vcpu 8 ebs1
Please review the Logical Domains Administration guide for detailed information.
Users can then revert the number of VPUs to the original or desired values as a post EBS install step.
thanks a lot..

Adobe Acrobat pro 9.4.6 crashes when opening multiple files simultaneously.
We have Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 which has been updated to version 9.4.6. we had this problem when the 9.4.5 update was applied also. It is now crashing when we try to open multiple files simultaneously.
Yesterday, I narrowed down the problem to 6 plugins:
IA32
ADBC
eBook
EScript
HLS
PPKLite
SaveAsRTS
However, we discovered that that Comments and markup tool bars weren't loading. So I did a repair install on it.
Now those plugins from yesterday work and Acroform.api is causing it to crash when opening multiple files.
I did try other suggestion that involved using Icacls/cacls on dll files to no avail.
It is running on XP SP3 fully updated with plenty of RAM and HDD space.
Is there a way to fix this without reinstalling?I am not sure what's causing this problem on your machine because everything's working fine for me.
What is the version of Acroform.api on your machine now.
Do a Repair after deleting this file and see if it works.
Enable Windows MSI logging (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314852) before you do a repair, upload that log to some file sharing server, and paste its link here. -
Adobe bridge crashes when saving illustrator files
Hi there,
We are developing custom connector using Adobe Drive SDK for our DAM system, the integration with CS was working fine, we recently updated Adobe Drive to 4.2, and we are encountering bridge crashes when saving illustrator file. It didn't happen with older version(4.0.2) of Adobe Drive, not sure why. I pin point the part that causing the issue: in our custom connector, we have READ_XMP_METADATA capability which we need to display the thumbnails and previews, and in the ftp sample connector, this capablity is not included originally, so the issue does not happen, but if I add this capabilty, the crash issue happens as well. If we exclude this capablity from our connector, this crash issue doesn't happen.
We noticed this only happens when saving illustrator file, not photoshop or indesign, and it seems that only in illustrator, when save, and the bridge has the current file folder showing, we are seeing there are twice folder refreshes, and usually it will crash after the second time. In photoshop and indesign, we don't see folder refreshes. If switch to other folder, the crash won't happen. We tested on both windows and Mac, on Mac, this seems happen less often. Another thing we noticed is in debug mode, or we have many debug logging turned on, the crash happens less often, if it is deployed with no debug logging, the crash happens almost everytime. So we are guessing it might be some synchronization problem.
Could you please advice what's the cause of this issue?
Thanks,
KatherineHas it ever worked?
What kind of files are they and where do you save them?
Is a printer connected, set up and turned ON?
Have you already tried resetting the preferences?
Generally it's not a good idea to just save old files, because then some artwork may be automatically flattened. Illustrator will save the file to the old version file-format and if you used new features in-between, those cannot stay live in the old version file format. -

Acrobat Pro 9.3 Crashes when opening multiple files
Acrobat Pro 9.3 Crashes when opening multiple files. I have not seen any solutions in forums that solves this problem. I have just done the most recent update and it still crashes.
Acrobat Pro 9.4.2 (CS5) is doing the same thing on my Windows XP SP3 with 3.5 GB of ram and 206 GB of my brand new 300 GB hard drive free.
It starting doing this at the end of last year before my hard drive died. Then after rebuilding the entire system on this new drive it worked fine, until I downloaded all the updates and now it is broken again. Anytime I open more than one PDF, Acrobat crashes. I send the error report every time.
