Frames disappearing

On some websites, http://taoism.net especially, frames often disappear when I navigate within the site. Sometimes they don't and I can't tell what makes the difference. Just when I think an update has fixed the problem, it comes up again.
In the above site, I am talking about the button bar on the left. I think it is called a frame; my apologies if I got the terminology wrong.
Richard

In addition I've seen this happen most (an active frame closing & low memory) when the device has not been rebooted for some time. So, if you see this often, reboot your BlackBerry.
Holding on the top edge power button for about 20-25 seconds until the screen blackens and the red LED flashes to start back up.

CS6 cutout. Classic mode. I want to cut out by dragging. However, the selection is moving and moving the mouse click once. I'm having problems. Frame disappears in the "ctrl + H". Frame is off all the time. Happy.

    I don’t understand all you’ve written.
As for the effect ctrl-H has you schould be able to change that under Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts.

  • Single frame disappears when compressing with de-interlacing turned on

I'm having trouble with a single frame - showing a lightning flash - disappearing after compression. I've found I need to turn on de-interlacing in the Inspector to avoid bad problems with the interlacing showing on edges when panning sidewards, but since I've turned de-interlacing on, this one frame disappears.
I've tried making it a freeze-frame, held for several seconds. I've tried slowly zooming in on the same frame for several seconds. I've tried putting in compression markers all over it. In all cases, the lightning flash is there in Final Cut Pro, but disappears on compression.
    Any suggestions?

I dont have the answer, but rather a similair problem. If you don't mind I will add it to your blog here so hopefully someone can answer both our problems with one solution.
I have been compressing the same FCP sequence several times making only small changes to my sequence each time(adding and deleting certain photos per clients request). Now all of a sudden, one on the photos simply does not show up after being compressed. It renders just fine in FCP and exports to Compressor just fine, but after I compress it, when I play it, the two seconds of the sequence that is supposed to show a certain picture, it is just black.

  • Still Frames Disappear in Project Frame

Working with imovie 08, at work, I capture videos from hdv camera. I have to select short clips of work video and create projects from the clips. Then I use the "add still frame to project", and usually the still frames stay in the project frame while I'm doing this. I then use finder to locate them once I am finished. The stills are now disappearing from the project frame and are no where to be found. I had done this procedure many times (30+) with no problem, now I can't find them anywhere. help!

So what I am realizing is that all of my sequences have been created with incorrect settings, thus greatly downgrading the film quality. I wish I had picked up in this earlier rather than the last bit of my production. Because now the 25 minutes of sequences, and nested sequences are all basically incorrect. I figured that the poor display was related to Premieres program monitor, and that after rendering, it would display more clearly. But that is just impossible, when placing uncompressed progressive footage 1366X768, square pixels and 30fps into sequences that are 720X480, 29.97, and a non-square pixel aspect ratio...
So I'm wondering, is there any way to change the sequence settings  or place all of the edited footage in new, matching sequences without essentially re-editing the whole film?
    Any helpful words are appreciated.

  • Image icon on internal frame disappearing and re-appearing

I have just upgraded to jdk 1.4.1-b21 from 1.4.0_01-b03 and have noticed that after adding an Internal Frame to a desktop and moving the mouse over the image icon in the left hand corner the image disappears. The image re-appears again, once I presume, when the desktop and its frames are repainted.
Is this a bug or has something changed between the two jdk's.
    Thanks.
    Steve.

    Hi,
I attempted the Disk Utility Repair but it did not work.
So I disabled the application 'StickyWindows' and this resolved the problem.
    Hope this helps.

  • Poster frames disappear

I'm still building my site (haven't published yet). But when I close iweb (after saving) & return later the poster frames I picked for movies disappear. I do have 9- one minute videos displayed on one photo page. Could that be contributing to the problem?
Is it best to limit the number of videos per page?

    Hi,
I'm afraid there isn't a simple way of setting individual poster frames (apart from the method described prior to import).
To change the frame number FCServer uses to obtain the posterframe:
    1. In the FCServer client, open the Administration page
    2. Under "Transcode Settings" search for "thumbnail proxy"
    3. Open the preset "JPEG Thumbnail Proxy" listed in the search results
    4. Under "Paramaters" scroll down until you find the Frame Number (11 by default).
    5. Change it to anything you like, and hit save.
I've changed mine to 75 frames, and the thumbnails are far more useful. I guess its down to how you work, and the type of content you use as to whats best.
    Hope that helps,
    Oli.

  • INdividual Frames disappear

I am having problems with the individual frames on the
timeline disappearing. I have reset the settings multiple times and
cannot find any settings to put the individual frames back on. It
seems like a system wide preference because all users on the
machine have the same issue. Can anyone help?

    A few things:
How much time are you willing to devote to finding a precise frame among the hundred of thousands that would be generated in single 12-hour period?  Actually, it would be 1,294,704 in 12 hours; I did the arithmetic.  Wouldn't the closest second be adequate?
Virtual Dub?  For your ends, I say, "Ugh!"
Attaching a camera to a tree isn't a bad idea; attaching a camera to a sapling or a very young tree is a different story.  You need a stable mount.
Apparently the exposure of the image isn't a very big concern, which is fine if it's okay with you.
In AE, you can run video backwards.  You can use Time Remapping, or you can go to the Stretch panel and set it to negative 100.  You'd have to move the clip in the timeline if you use it.
All in all, I get the notion that you're trying to use AE for something it wasn't designed to do.  It's primarily for effects and compositing of images shot for commercial video/film production.
Engineers, while a being a most admirable group of individuals, aren't necessarily the prime users of the application.  You might want to investigate other avenues.
Now, I hope for your sake that I'm all wet in my remarks.  I hope other people have better solutions than mine for your situation.  Time will tell.

  • Link Symbol on Graphic Frame Disappeared -

    I’m running InDesign CS-6 on Windows 7.
Somehow I have managed to cause the link symbol on the top left of all graphic frames to disappear, all 250 of them in this particular document.  It’s as if I’ve converted all graphic frames to text frames, OR  inadvertently removed the link symbol .  Any new graphic I’ve placed does not have the link symbol so I suspect I have done something to set a new default.  The links table shows that all graphics are correctly linked – just no link symbol at the top left of the graphic frames.

  • First and last frame disappearing off every clip

    Hi,
Every clip I import in Final cut pro 6.0 loses its first and last frame.
The clips I import are in photoJpeg / 24p (verified with the -get info- of Quicktime Pro), but once in FCP they are marked as 23.98 ?!?!
In the browser the info of the clip says 23.98 and also indicates that the clip is 2 frames shorter.
When opened in the viewer the first and last frames are really missing.
It gets worse, when a clip is longer (ie: 500 frames), the first and last TWO frames are missing ?!?!
Am I alone with this problem?
    Please help!!!

How are these clips getting created? Quicktime does not necessarily associate each frame with a certain TC, and the frame rate is dynamically calculated, rather than simply being hard-coded into the QT metadata. This results in Quicktimes that get created outside of FCP often showing up with different frame rates than you expect.
You might try exporting movies back out of FCP, ether from the master clips, or from sequences. I have noticed that when I export from a sequence at the correct frame rate, the missing frames come back. Other tools that might come in handy are Compressor for converting batches of files to QTs that FCP will like better, and Cinema Tools for conforming clips to a particular frame rate (like changing them from 24 to 23.98)
You might also try Dumpster which is a bare-bones utility that will allow you to view and edit the QT metadata directly.
Try some experiments and post back and let us know what you find out. I found that placing the clips in sequences at the proper frame rate and exporting new movie files worked well, but I have seen timing and frame rate shifts with some clips using this method...
    Hope this helps -

  • After saving, certain frames disappear.

With CS5.5 on OSX, after saving a file and reopening it, certain frames (and their artwork) end up missing, i.e. aren't saved with the rest of the file. This happens with random frames. Other artwork, created after these frames, is still there. Anyone else run into this problem?

    Hi Mark,
In the Flash Help menu, please click on Updates. The Flash CS5.5 updater fixes some issues similar to what you're describing. Once you're done updating the version number in the About Box should show 11.5.1.349.

  • Frames disappear on small screens

    Hello,
On all the pages in this site:
    http://www. garrigaehotels.com
There are flags in the top right corner. If you make your
browser window quite small - you can no longer see the flags. Which
is fine, except that you can't see them even when using the scroll
    bars.
The flags sit in a layer which is positioned relative to a
    larger layer called 'main'.
I don't understand why browsers aren't seeing that this layer
is there - and so allowing you to move up to see it using the
    scroll bars.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    - Greg

    > I.E. Can I have a rectangle sitting in the middle
    (vertically and
    > horizontally) of the browser window?
I think it's a waste of effort and time to try to achieve
    this, but there
    are several ways -
    1. Actually use frames. Be aware that I DO NOT suggest you
    seriously
consider this since frames are rarely the optimal choice for
    your layout
method. They come with MANY disadvantages, none of which
    would be offset by
achieving this vertical centering that most (all?) of your
    visitors will
    fail to notice.
    2. Use the method described here -
    http://www.apptools.com/examples/tableheight.php
As far as I know, those are the only two ways to achieve
    vertical centering
    reliably.

And it works, except for the negative offset, and the SERIOUS
    disadvantage
of having to use layers for your content.
    > i can't see how i can position all the other layers
    relatively to

Again, I would say to completely lose the layers, and their
    associated
absolute positioning woes. Accept the fact that nobody but
    your client is
going to notice that the page is not vertically centered, and
    locate it on
the page with a respectable distance from the top margin. Use
    best practice
methods to locate the rest of the content on the page (i.e.,
    not absolute
positioning). I think that will work fine. The design is so
    pleasing to
the eye, that nobody will notice the lack of vertical
    centering.

  • Active frames disappearing at random on Z30

    Hi,
My apps active frames sometime shut itself down for no reason.  The most apps I have open at one time is usually 4-6.  I usually close down the apps when I'm done using it.  Is it possible that my BlackBerry learned my habits and shutdown my apps active frames on the fly?   I'm running 10.2.1.2102 model STA 100-5 (Z30).
Thanks for the help in advance.

  • Making a frame disappear

    Well here is my problem
I have my main class create an opening frame with an image and "Exit" and "Main Menu" buttons.
On the event "Main Menu" I create a new object of my main menu class from within the main class in the Action event method . I want it to be a different size. When it was the same as the opening frame it covered it but I want to either dispose or hide the first frame.
How and where do I do it.
    Thanks
    Malcolm

    try this
when u create instance of your class in ActionEvent agter the instance write only
    this.dispose();
    e.g
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e){
    if(e.getSource()==btn){
    new YourClass();
    this.dispose();
    }

  • Urgent Help Needed with missing frames

    Hi guys
I have a student with an urgent problem that I can't seem to fix.
The student is making a film having shot it on mini DV tape. He has been editing the film in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5, editing sections in different sequences.
The problem he is having is when he moves a selection of clips on his timeline random frames or half frames disappear, leaving a very quick flash to black.
I cant work out why the frames are disappearing when moving clips up and down the timeline, any suggestions?
    Thanks
    SteveG

The settings for a sequence cannot be changed once it is created.
If source footage is being interpreted wrongly, right-click the source file on the project panel and choose Modify > Interpret Footage. You can now create a new sequence that matches the real properties of your footage.
Dragging one sequence into another won't cure the problem; you have to copy the footage from the timeline into the new sequence so it reverts to the new sequence frame rate (assuming the footage has been defined properly in the project panel it will then be correct).
