Frames in elements

I use photoshop elements 10. I have found some nice frames for pictures on the internet,
but I don't know how to import them into elements.
Can anyone help me?

The formats of the frames are .psd and .png

  • How to turn off application frame photoshop elements 12 on OSX?

I just upgraded from PS elements 8 to 12 and can't find the "shut off application frame" option? Photoshop Elements 12 OSX

I didn’t think that was an option in PSE12. Do you mean the ability to see through the application to the desktop? It used to be in older versions under the top menu:
    Window >> Application Frame
Or are you referring to floating windows/cascading? You change the settings in:

  • Graphics and Frames Photoshop Elements 13

This is my first post.  I hope it is in the right place.  Please tell me if it isn't.
Using the graphics menu, I want to install a frame around my picture.  In the frames menu there are no thumbnails.  I get boxes that say "Frames" with a number such has "Frames 1."  When I click on the box, I get a message that says "Could not complete your request  because the file was not a valid frame file."  I have been able to select frames for pictures in the past and I don't know what happened.

Unfortunately, you're in the wrong forum.  This is not the Elements forum.

  • Where can I download frames for Elements 11?

I had Elements 11 since it came out and it is only now that I decided to use it cause I was using Paint Shop Pro X5 Ultimate (which I am use to). Anyway, my question is where do i download frames to use for my graphics and also what directory/folder do i put it? Also can i use frames from PSP X5? Thanks.

Well you already have lot of frames available by default in PSE. From bottom most panel or action bar click Graphics and from dropdowns choose By Type and Frames respectively and you will see lot of them. The blue ribbons ones are present online and to use them you need to download them for the first time when you double click on any of such frame to use.
    Hope it helps.
    Thanks,
    Garry

  • Slideshow frame in elements 6

How can I get the last frame to stay on at the end, instead of going back to the beginning?

Are you seeing the return to the beginning when you do the Preview within the Photoshop Elements slide show Editor?
You should not see this go back to the beginning when you make your final slide show using the Output command.
For example, I just did a quick slide show in PSE 6. When I did the Preview it played all the slides and then did go back to a static image of the first slide. However, next I did the slide show OUTPUT command and created a WMV file. When I played the WMV slide show back uisng Windows Media Player, the slide show played throught the last slide and then faded out to black - it did NOT return to the beginning.

  • CS3 / javascript / Creating anchor frame and placing xml element

    Hi All,
I have a problem with creating anchor frame, that is
Actually i have created anchor frame, but it is not allowing to place the xml element, it shows "inline frame xml elements not allowed" some thing like this.
I have handled anchor frame type is "custom" but it shows "inline frame".
Any of you got better idea about this.
    regards,
    sudar.

I believe this has to do with you doing a placeXML, where the XML contents does not match the tagged frames in the document.
Again i'm not sure, but i dont think this has to do with what kind of frame you are placing into(inline or custom anchor) rather if your tagged frames and XML match up.

  • Frame fitting options in object styles

We are producing multiple pages using tagged templates and importing xml - to populate both text and images.
Back in CS3 - our object styles using frame fitting worked perfectly. Since we have upgraded to CS5 and now CS6 - when xml is imported the frame fitting element of our object styles are no longer being honoured - when clicking on the object frame, it shows the style has been applied but with overrides - and it is adding random offsets to the frame fitting crop settings.
We are producing large numbers of pages through xml automation, therefore it's very time consuming to open every page and clear overrides/reset frame fitting on every affected graphic.
I've seen on other questions/forums that this may be a known bug - anyone have any up-to-date info on fixes or workarounds?
    Thanks for your help :-)

    Hello,
We have a free startup script that clears the overrides after a place action.

  • Is it a bug about element's depth?

I have two elements in one frame and if I use:
    alert(fl.getDocumentDOM().getTimeline().layers[1].frames[2].elements[0].depth);
    alert(fl.getDocumentDOM().getTimeline().layers[1].frames[2].elements[1].depth);
It shows me 0 and 1, It is all right!
But if I don't select two of them , the depth is 2 and 2!
    How it possible!!!!!
    Is it a bug?

    Hi,
It works correctly for me. Can you share your test file along with the steps so that we can have a look at what's going wrong for you?
Please note that simple shapes(unselected) at the same layer have the same depth. If you have a drawing object or a symbol instead, then their deapth would be different.

  • Told by adobe that I should purchase photoshop elements 13 to extract photo from video but it will not even open a video file -- what am I missing?

I am supposed to be able to extract a frame from PSE 13 but it will not let me do so.  Specifically, Select File > Import > Frame From Video is supposed to allow this but when I click Import, there is no Frame from video option.
Here are the instructions from the Adobe website:
You can play a video from within Photoshop Elements and grab frames to edit and save as images.
Select File > Import > Frame From Video.
    Browse and select the video.
Click Play. The video starts playing in the Frame From Video dialog box. You can use the playback controls to display the frames your want to grab. If you find the audio distracting, select Mute.
Click Grab Frame.Photoshop Elements places the grabbed frames as images in new files., ready for editing.
    Click Done.

This is strange because I found the following on the adobe PSE 13 website (but the Select File/Import does not include Frame From Video:
You can play a video from within Photoshop Elements and grab frames to edit and save as images.
Select File > Import > Frame From Video.
    Browse and select the video.
Click Play. The video starts playing in the Frame From Video dialog box. You can use the playback controls to display the frames your want to grab. If you find the audio distracting, select Mute.
Click Grab Frame.Photoshop Elements places the grabbed frames as images in new files., ready for editing.

  • Adding a heading to the steps element in a DITA topic

    Hello Framers,
I've been using unstructured FM for years, but I've only just started looking into structured FM. I am currently trying to adjust the sample DITA application that comes with FM 9 to our requirements. In the DITA task topic, the sample application adds frames from a reference page above and below the steps element. Both frames contain a line to visually separate the steps element from other elements in the topic. The upper frame also contains a heading for that element.
I don't like this approach at all. First of all, I don't want translatable text on the reference page. In addition, the heading should go to the side-head area. The EDD contains the following rules for the steps element:
    Automatic insertions
      Automatically insert child: step
        and nested child: cmd
Format rules for first paragraph in element
      In all contexts.
        Use paragraph format: step.begin
Format rules for last paragraph in element
      In all contexts.
        Basic properties
          Paragraph spacing
            Change space below by: +6pt
          Pagination properties
            Keep with previous: Yes
          Advanced properties
            Frame below element: StepsEnd
I was thinking about adding a prefix to the steps element, but in this case, the prefix is formatted as the first step with the step.begin paragraph style. Is it possible to define a formatting rule for the second paragraph in an element?
    Thank you for any help
    Susanne

Maybe it is time to rethink what you need to do.
Just because FrameMaker ships DITA with styles that put a frame above and below the steps element, does not mean that you have to do it also. You can delete it from the EDD.
If you need your steps to have a heading, then use the heading (or title) element in one of the containing elements higher up the hierarchy, such as the taskbody. I do not use DITA but my structure has a procedure element that is something like:
    Procedure
       Title
       Intro
       Step
       Step
The Title element contains the title or heading or the procedure. The Intro element contains introductory material for the procedure. Typically, the title is in the side head, which aligns with the first paragraph in the Intro. If there is no Intro element, then the title aligns with first Step element. This structure is simpler than the standard DITA structure, but my point is that the title of your procedure (or steps) need not be part of the steps element itself; my guess is that the DITA structure has a place for it higher up the hierarchy.

  • Display CLOB value in multiple rows in ADF UIX

    Hi,
I have an ADF UIX application that uses data that are stored in a CLOB column in an Oracle Database.
The table data is presented in a simple table in page1.uix, I use BC4J for accessing the Database and Oracle JDeveloper 9.0.5.2.
The problem is that the CLOB data appear properly (meaning the rows appear OK) only in a frame (messageTextInput element) of a predefined size and if I change the element into a styledText or a formattedText the frame will not appear, but all the CLOB characters appear in a single row.
Does anyone know how I can present the CLOB text data in a UIX page, without having a frame around the text, and at the same time keep the CLOB text in multiple rows?

There's no completely trivial way. You'd have to do a bit of extra processing of your CLOB data. The most straightforward work to do is to convert "\n" into "<br>", and then pass that into a <formattedText>.

  • Conversion from word problems with images

    Hi ,
I managed to make a conversion table to structure the documents of out company.I am having a proble with images.I am importing the word file to our template with a custom EDD document. When the import finishes I am having all images at almost correct places. The issue is when i apply the custom conversion table all the images at anchored at insertion point. The correct position would be at below current line.I am stuck and I can not find a solution to this.

    Thanks a lot in advance

    Dimitris,
I know you originally posted this question on the general FrameMaker forum. I suggest below that you post a follow-up question there.
The structure-based part of the issue is that neither a conversion table nor an EDD can change properties of an existing anchored frame. It seems that when you open your Word document in FrameMaker, the graphics come in positioned at the insertion point. That doesn't change when you apply the conversion table. Your EDD does specify object style FiguredCentered as the initial format for GRAPHIC elements. The keyword here is "initial". The EDD can indicate a style for new anchored frames that are created by inserting an element. It does not allow you to change existing anchored frames.
So the real problem is how to make a global change to all existing anchored frames (either assigning an object style or changing the position to Below Current Line) so that you don't have to change them one at a time. I am not aware of a way to do so with existing FrameMaker commands. You could use a script or plug-in, or save the document as MIF and make a global change with a text editor in the MIF file. You might ask on the general FrameMaker forum if someone there knows an easier approach.

  • Looking for a script to automate renaming layer objects, not the layer itself!

    Hey there everyone,
I was wondering if there is a possibility to create/have a script for an automated renaming of several named layer objects in Indesign (CS6).
The situation, I'm facing is a document for a templating process with at least 80 layers and sometimes some special elements on each layer. The naming of the layers is kind of repeating for each page that is used. The only difference is some prefix change in the layer name and/or the name of an element itself. My problem is, that I need to rename most of those layers AND elements in a same way and I'm looking for a script that asks me for the name of a layer or element (perfect would be just a part of the name to have multiple steps at once) and I have the chance to type in the desired value. It affects frames, graphical elements and text boxes.
If anyone has an idea, how to simplify this process I would be very glad to get some informations or advices.
    Thanks in advance
    Ralf
