Frames Vs Seconds. Please Help.
hi guys.
need your help concerning the following matter.
i've got a .mov file (a short animation exported from a 3D application DAZ | Studio), which can be viewed frame by frame when i move the QuickTime player cursor.
when i drag and drop it into FCE's browser, i can still view that file frame by frame in the Viewer by moving the right arrow key.
however, once it is placed in the Timeline and viewed in Canvas, the cursor moves only second by second. and when i export that fragment from FCE as a .mov file and try to watch it in QuickTime player, moving the right arrow key, the picture no longer changes from frame to frame, it now jumps from one second to another, thus showing only 1 frame from each second and "swallowing" the other 23!
how can i fix this?
the application i export my clips from has no frame rate section. the clips' aspect ratio is dv, 4:3. it's just that the frame size is unscaled, but it easily becomes 720x576 once imported into fce or imovie.
perhaps, i didn't explain the problem clearly enough, sorry. i can view clips exported from a 3d animation application one frame at a time, by moving the right arrow key in quicktime player. but once it's imported into fce's timeline, it can only be viewed one second at a time, i.e. 1 sec becomes equal to 1 frame, instead of 1 sec = 24 or 25 frames. why is it that only 1 frame is left out of 24? i need to see the other 23. how?

As for now, only thing that helped was an archive and install with preserve user settings. Seems after the reinstall of 10.4. everything that was weird has become normal again. I hope very much this state stays on for a while - or ever!
A comment to everybody: with problems that are common you get a lot of help from friendly users in here, but if like in my situation things get a bit more uncommon than the usual querks and troubles your bound to go through a whole workflow of tests and algorithms - i did learn some new things but eventually I had to go for the ultimate - the reinstall (of course, erase and install would have been more work.) and it's frustrating not to find out how it came to this problem. I wish I could nail it down to something I did mistakenly - i guess I'll find out next time.

If I follow the question, I suspect you need to review how
layers work
in flash (although it's very similar to other graphic
applications), because
what you seek is not really possible. You can get a blank
stage by working
in a different timeline such as a movie clip, or by adding a
new scene--but
not by simply adding layers (unless you are hiding the

2 Questions - Low Bit rate output. Low frames per second FPS, HELP! Live show sucked!
I thought I had all of my settings set for a stream using FMLE running through stickam. Everything was looking good but when we went live our bit rate output went down below 100kbs. I had set it for high kbs but allowed it to drop size to keep frame rate. As you can imagine our video stream went from really good looking to choppy and almost freeze frame half the time. I have no idea what I did wrong. Is it my Cable Internet? My modem? I will say that I ran a speedtest.net test and although the download looked abnormally low I had 1.6Mbs upload which I thought should be sufficient? I'm not sure what to do.
2nd question. I set FPS frame rate at 25fps but the output only allowed 15fps to the live stream. What is causing this? Is this a default number? It didn't seem what I set the frame rate at, the output was at 15fps. I saw ways to change the fps on the input but nothing on the output. What is the deal here?
So... to recap. How do I keep the bit rates high and constant on a stream and how do I increase my fps on a stream. Or, to make it real easy, how do I get the best video stream picture that is not choppy or freeze frame. Our show is now starting to be sponsored by entities and I can't have bad looking shows. Can anybody lead me in the right direction?Whats your Encoding machine's configuration? I feel a low configuration machine can cause choppy streams.
Did you try with any other video source?

If you are having issues with creating contacts on your iPhone, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
iOS: Force an app to close
Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -

I own a MacBook Pro 2.4 ghz non unibody. I turn on my laptop for ten seconds and it freezes. It boots perfectly and runs for ten seconds until everything freezes. Please help!
See if you can boot into single user mode with Command S.

Place the iPOd in recovery mode and then restore. For recovery mode:

when i open iphoto i see my photo's for 1 second and then they are gone .The photo's are still there but i can see them only on the bottom or top of my screen when i try to open them i get a sign that it is not possible.Can somebody please help me?
Have you upgraded to iPhoto 9.6 for compatibility with Yosemite? If not, try that first.
It looks like iPhoto has lost the connection between the thumbnails and the original image files.
This can be caused by a corrupted iPhoto library, or the originals have been deleted or moved.
Try first to rebuild your iPhoto Library:
If you do not have a current backup of the iPhoto library, make a copy of the library, but do not overwrite any previous backup.
Launch iPhoto with the ⌥⌘-key combination (option-command) held down.
Select "rebuild" from the first aid panel. This may take a while for a large library.
Can you now see your photos again?
If not, rebuild the library with iPhoto Library manager as described by Old Toad: Re: iphoto crashed -

Ever since the last update, My iTunes continues to quit unexpectedly. It will open for one second and then close. Anyone have a solution for this. Please help.

please help. ive bought a second hand ipod nano, when i connect it to my pc, it does not recognise it in itunes,yet it comes up as a sigma mass usb device. its an ipod nano 8gb?. im running on windows vista,my own ipod classic runs fine.
there is a good chance that this can be related to bad contact in USB lead.. e.g not enough power from IPOD to PC so that pc cannot recognise it. Where I work I get alot of USB devices on pc's that are not recognised and most of the time it is the connection to the device that is not good enough because the flat end of the USB adapter has been gradually bent over time just slightly and now contact is not good. It can also be todo with drivers or If you are using it through a USB hub.
so if it is not working through USB hub try direct. also try in back of PC as these Ports or direct access to main board to pc and would be less trouble some if there was a voltage loss from mainboard in pc to front of unit. -
My office just bought me an iMac and I absolutely need to hook up a second monitor but there is no DVI connection on it, just a Thunderbolt. What do I do? Please help ASAP!!! The imac is a 21.5" and they also already bought an HD 21.5 ASUS LCD monitor to attach to it. I'm really trying to make this setup work but this is becoming a nightmare. Any suggestions? I looked up different VGA adapters but the only options for this would be a usb-vga connection which doesn't work on macs. Can anyone tell me if this new Thunderbolt connection will work in some way? Using the Thunderbolt port attach a Mini-display to DVI so long as the Asus display is equipped and capable, otherwise Mini-display to VGA will also work. The Thunderbolt port is ahead devices which are not yet available to take advantage of the increased capacity in speed. Until the devices and connection cables are available, just use the port as a Mini-display port.
