Frames within a template setup

I was asked to make a table heading remain stationary while
viewers scroll down the page to view the lengthy table. Is there a
way to do this? I know it can be done with frames, however my site
is built with a template, so I would have to put the frames within
the editable region and I can't figure out how to do that. Is there
a way to do this with or without frames?

Creating a frame within a iweb page

I would like to create a frame within one of my iweb pages so that I can maintain the navigation menu while incorporating expose photo slide (or any other external page to be displayed within my page).
Please correct me if I am wrong but I don't think this is possible using iweb and must edit the source code.
Does anyone know if there are any templates out there I could just copy and past to get this done? i am simply looking to create a frame pretty much taking up the entire center of the existing page while leaving the navigation menu in tacked. Do appreciate the help!

Hi, thanks for reply. Is it possible to insert a frame within
a layer? I have a fireworks created index page, I want to add a
layer to in DW and be able to have a separately updatable html page

Frames, layers, AND FW HTML?
You cannot add a frame to anything other than a frameset
page.
You can add an IFrame to a layer, but beware - I smell real
trouble with
this plan, especially with FW HTML.
Using either frames OR IFrames is a burden, however, for you
as the builder
and for your visitors.

Knowing where an instance is within a template

Does anyone know how I can find out where a particular instance of a workflow within
a template is? I'm trying to setup a template where if a number of instances are
of the same nature actioning a task within one of them causes all of the instances
to move along to the next task. Any ideas?

Can't figure out how to insert an html within my template

I've searched, but perhaps I am not using the correct terminology. I apologize if this has been addressed elsewhere.
We have a vendor who is trying to mimic my webpage for our customers who sign on to her service. My problem is that I don't like having versions of our webpage outside our organization because I'll have to get them to update every time I make a change to our page. I know it will be forgotten at some point. What I'd like to do is set up a page on our site and insert their html content page within my template framework. There is a form that needs to link to their site so it needs to live on their server. I tried inserting an html, but it didn't work. I know in the olden days I used to be able to do this in PageMill. Now, I just can't figure out how to do it. Does anyone know the secret?

Need to link text within movie template

Hi all,
I downloaded a flash site template (some time ago) that I'm
just getting round to using. I don't recall if support was offered
when I bought the site. If so, I've long since lost the link to
that support. So, I'm turning here for help.
The site in question is www.plumbingsystems.net. Within the
template there are individual movies. One of these movies is
titled, "Text Area." I don't believe I can actually post this movie
for review but I'm hoping by posting the text layout under
"actions" that someone out there might be able to tell me how this
text can be formatted and, most importantly, if the text can be
linked to other URLs. Specifically, I want to take the text that
makes up the "Client List" text and link some of the client names
to external URLs with photos of the client's work. Here is how the
text appears within the "actions" panel of the Text Area movie:

Changing frames within a symbol

Can anyone tell me how to change frames within a symbol, by using a button in the actuall stage. Every time I try searching for it, I get lost in half compleated answers, action script 2, and things that throw a ton of code and words and stuff at me, but never explain the parts of it. (Often also has losts of additional code that I probally don't need)
I've got the button, but I need the function.

I can see from your other posts you are familiar with coding a button, so... In your button event handler function you would use something like...
symbolName.gotoAndStop(someFrame);
where symbolName is whatever instance name you assign to the movieclip symbol and someFrame is either a number or a label for the frame you want to change to.

Button to load only a few frames within the timeline

I am new to AS3 and was doing a little bit of research before diving in.
I wish I could just create external swfs to load with each button, but the CMS system that I am uploading to won't allow it~
so I HAVE to make the thing into one swf, but the file size is too large.
Is it possible to make a button that loads only a few frames within the timelime? and the next button will load another few?

loading a swf file is an all or none issue. once you start loading a swf, you can't stop it from proceeding to a complete load unless you unload the entire swf.

Were you able to fix this issue. I am facing the same exact issue. Can you please provide me some information on this.
We have used rapid installer to install the portal which has the central SLD - J2EE Version is - 7.00 SP8
Then we installed Usage type DI on a different server which talks to the central SLD. This J2EE version that I see in System Info Page is - 7.00 SP9
Is this version conflict causing an issue?
Please help me go through this issue.

FUNCTION Variable within Data Template

Hi Im calling a function within my sql and i want to use the result as a bind variable.... here goes...
Data Template...... XML

I get null value .... but from the_main_one i get a value..... any ideas... i checked for number and nvl(,0) and all that no luck
is there a grouping thing involved here... where as i need to call the function from within another sql statement...

It can be done.
Step 1: Setup package.
Step 2: Create a global variable for your function value
Step 3: Before the calling function returns the value, set a global variable (placeholder)
Step 4: Create a new function that returns the global variable, make sure it's after the first function call. Returning the value you might want to reset the global variable to null....
Your good to go.

How do I get a button to launch a new frame within a frame?

I'm very new to Java and am using Jdeveloper9i.
I am writing a stand alone application that has a frame with fields e.g. name, emailid etc and have provided a "Modify" button, which I want to call up another frame/panel with text fields to allow the user to make changes to name, emailid etc.
Can anyone point me in the right direction of some sample code that will do this?

Trays within web template expanded automatically on server roundtrip

Hi Folks!
We have a problem with our web templates. Our templates were built with the Web Application Designer (WAD) and they contain trays which should be closed (collapsed) by default.
Our Problem:
Since the system was patched to SAPKW70018 the trays within the web application are rendered in expanded state automatically whenever an action is called that requires a server roundtrip.
For example: When one tray is being expanded (and it's update type is not set to passive) all other trays are expanded as well. Closing a tray leaves the other ones open. Closing another tray reopens the tray that has been closed before. Performing some action within the analysis item opens the trays as well, since most of them require roundtrips.
This behaviour only occurs under the Internet Explorer. Firefox and WebKit Browsers seem to perform well.

Best Practice Question - Data Def and Template setup

EBS provides reports and templates. As expected the template did not fit our needs and the data objects did not include all the elements required. I've built custom objects for both (thanks to help from the forum).
Should the templates and data definitions be setup under their corresponding application or under the custom application (ie PO vs XX )?
In my case if I setup the data definition and template under the XX application then all the EBS OAF web pages dont show my new reports. I'd have to also build OAF extensions to show custom reports (seems stupid).
Is there any negative impacts of registering custom data definition and templates under their corresponding applications (like Purchasing, Inventory)? Or is there a better way that I'm missing?

not really. I would make it work by anymeans neccessary. The problem you are experience I've had issues with too.
The concurrent program and has to be the same as template application, same for for the data definition.

Scrubbing half or quarter frames within a clip?

I'm trying to synch some audio tracks to video and want to make sure that I get it perfect. I recall there being a way to set points in between frames to get super specific, but can't remember how to do it. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Thank You!

The key point to recognize is sub frame audio editing ONLY works within the Audio tabs in the Viewer. You can't do it in the audio tracks on a Timeline. The Capt'n's video does a good job explaining it.
Here's a tip - Once you have loaded your clip into the Viewer, if you find the Viewer image too small, either drag the Stereo (or Mono) Tab in the Viewer free of its normal position then click on the expand to full screen button on the top of that window to stretch it out (I put it on my second monitor) or, drag the Stereo (or Mono) tab from the Viewer and dock it in the Sequence Window.
Either one will give you a much larger view. When you close the audio window, it re-docks back to the main Viewer window.
