Frameset browse problem in DW CS3

In DW CS3, if I try to browse locally, a CFM file containing
a frameset, my browser opens with the PHYSICAL path of the file
instead of the localhost web url, and so the file is not parsed and
I see only HTML/CFML. This does NOT happen with CFM files w/o a
frameset, so I know that all the DW settings are correct. Also,
this problem does not happen in Homesite+.

Dreamweaver CS3 frameset browse problem

When I click to preview in a browser for a .CFM file which
contains a frameset, Dreamweaver opens the browser with the
PHYSICAL path (eg. C:\CFusionMX7\wwwroot\mysite\frameset.cfm) and
so all that is displayed in the browser is markup. On the other
hand, if I click to preview in a browser for any other .CFM file,
Dreamweaver correctly opens the page using the web url (eg.
http://localhost:8501/mysite/test.cfm)
and so the page is parsed properly.
Also, If I click the "Live Data Viewer" button on the
frameset page, then I get a message:
The testing server did not execute any of the scripts in your
document. Possible explanations: Testing server is not running.
Testing server ignores .cfm files.
That message only occurs on the frameset page. Other .CFM
pages display correctly in the Live Data Viewer.

Broadcasting your serial number to the entire internet probably isn't going to help things in the activation department.
Can a moderator delete that?

Backing up QuickTime's advice --
Unless your bank's website is insecure, you're fine. Go up to the Safari "Search" bar and type in Rapport. You'll be amazed. It may "work" on PCs, but definitely not Macs. And it's not needed for Macs.

Printing problems with InDesign CS3 running on OS 10.6

I recently upgrade my old G4 Mac (OS 10.4) to a new Mac Mini running OS 10.6.6. I am still running CS3 and have encountered only one problem. When I print multiple copies documents from InDesign that contain several layers, each copy is processed separately, so that it can take several minutes just to send the print job to the printer if I'm printing over 20 copies. Then once the print job is processed the printer pauses between every copy, which is tripling the printing time. If I print a simpler document with only one or two layers it processes all the copies at once, as it should. I am printing on an Okidata 6150 color laser printer.
I never had this problem on my old computer. I'm wondering if this is one of the "unsupported" bugs of running CS3 on Snow Leopard. I want to make sure that this is a problem unique to running CS3 with Snow Leopard before I go ahead and upgrade to CS4 or CS5.
computer: Mac Mini core 2 duo 2.4 ghz processors, 4 gb RAM, printer: Okidata 6150 DN color laser printer.

It is version 5.0.4. I updated it when I newly installed it a week ago in my new computer, and then again updated it just yesterday.
I might mention that before I got my new computer, I was running Mac OS 4.11, and was using InDesign 3.0. I had bought InDesign CS3 about a year ago, but hadn't gotten around to using it since version 3.0 had been working fine, and I was used to it. Then, when I got my new computer, I decided it was time to use the newer version. However, while using InDesign 3.0 with the old Mac OS 4.11, a printing problem popped up there, too, a few months ago... and it also involved printing problems with Adobe Reader. I contacted Adobe, and they sent me a patch which fixed it. I will contact Adobe again if need be, although I thought I'd start here first to see if it was a common enough problem that someone might be able to provide a free and routine answer.

I neglected to ask what version of indesign CS3 you are using. I also
notice that Mac OSX 10.6.4 has just been released. It actually
addresses some CS3-specific issues, though they seem to be related to
launching the apps, not printing. It may be worth trying to update,
nonetheless.

Weird Z and Y key swap and arabic filename problems in Illustrator CS3

Hi
I am having some very weird problems with Illustrator CS3.
At completely random times, the software starts to think my Y and Z keys have swapped places. i.e. When I type anything or use any shortcuts, the opposite letters appear and are used.
Also from time to time, when I save a file, the filename is written in Arabic and I have to rename the file again in Explorer to correct this.
Both of these problems are random and a restart or Illustrator usually fixes both of these. But what a pain and waste of time.
Anyone else getting problems like this?
Oh, I'm using Windows Vista.

My guess is, it is related to Windows. Try to press shift and ctrl at once if the problem occurs. The keys should be switched back...
You have probably installed more than one keyboard in Windows. Shift-ctrl is the standard way to switch between them. You can change this in the Windows keyboard configuration file.
I had this problem with a German and a VS keyboard installed.

Server.MapPath problem in DW CS3

When setting up the connection string for an Access database,
connected to the testing server,
“Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=” +
Server.MapPath("/_private/caevents.mdb")
produces the error
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found
and no default driver specified.
However, if I put <%
Response.Write(Server.MapPath("/_private/caevents.mdb")) %>
into a blank page and upload and run it - it happily returns:
D:\sites\169\136\www\_private\caevents.mdb
So, changing the connection string to:
"Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};
DBQ=D:\sites\169\136\www\_private\caevents.mdb"
also works! Problem is, now I'm vulnerable to subsequent
changes which may take place in the server.
I saw a note about this posted about two years ago. Is it
still not fixed? Or, am I doinf something wrong?

Need help with Rollover Image cross browser problem

Hello,
I am having a cross browser problem with my websites rollover nav links. The trouble is, while they work perfectly fine in IE8 and IE9, I’ve also attempted to use them through Opera, and they simply don’t work. They don’t link nor do they do their rollover effect. And I was trying to figure out what I have done wrong. Currently the site is not completed, but the first two pages are, the “news” and “about me” pages are currently (as of right now) working. When I disable CSS in my browser, the rollover buttons work just fine. This tells me your CSS is messed up and you've layered something over your menus which is making them inaccessible to users.
I noticed you've applied relative positioning to just about everything on your page. Why?   Default CSS positioning (unspecified or static) is all you need for 98% of layouts.

AHCI Problems with DW CS3

I have problems with DW CS3 when I use the AHCI mode in BIOS.
Then DW can not start. But I need a solution. Since I do not want
to buy DW CS4 although this runs without any problems.

Yes...the pages from the book display perfectly in dw8, but
not in DWcs3.
I found that by commenting out the "clear:left;" under "#nav"
the page displays properly in DWcs3, too. That leaves open the
question of "why".

Embedded pictures in g-mail do not get thru when forwarded. Google claims it's a browser problem. how do I fix this?

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate, Firefox 3.6.16
This problem started up about 4 months ago. I thought it was a Google problem, but Google claims it's a browser problem. The same problem happens with Internet Explorer. I checked the Google website and many people are having this same problem. And Google is totally unresponsive.
Attached pictures go thru fine, but if I get an e-mail from someone with embedded pictures in the message, when I forward that message, the receiver does not get the pictures...only a red X in a blank box.
How can this be fixed?

CS6 Media Browser Problem

When using the Media Browser in Premiere Pro to view files in a folder that contains many files (100+), the browser keeps jumping back to the beginning after viewing a few of dozen files. I then have to scroll back down to the last place I was and then I can continue a little further before the browser jumps back to the beginning again. The files do not open instantly -- there is a finite time where the message "processing ..." is displayed. I gave up before getting to the end. I doubt that I have an under-resourced computer since it is a i7-3770K with 32GB RAM and a GTX670 card. Is there a limit to the number of files that can be viewed in the Media Browser? Any suggestions?

Just wanted to post because we had the same problem on 4 different computers with different configurations.
It was really annoying to have this jumping/refreshing media browser problem. At a point, that this browser was useless.
Then we had a problem with droping sound editing r3d code... Kind of a deal breaker, when the company claims that you can edit 4K r3d files no ?
We finally figured out that the Media Cache and the Media Cache files NEEDS to stay in the original folders (C:\Users\nameofuser\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common).
Even if everybody on the web tells you to dedicate a single SSD just for the media cahe, it won't work for Premiere pro. DON'T MOVE THOSE FOLDERS !
Removing those folders to the original place (C:\Users\nameofuser\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common) [again] solved the problem for us. Hope it will work for you guys.
Don't blame Adobe, i'm sure they'll read my post to fix this in the next version of premiere

Printing problems with InDesign CS3 with Mac OS 10.6.3

I am not new to InDesign... I have CS3... but I am brand new to Mac Snow Leopard (OS 10.6.3). Although I can open CS3 and use the application, I cannot print with it. None of my other applications has printing issues... just CS3. Any suggestions?

I am having a lot of problems with Photoshop CS3 hanging and crashing. Particularly when I open hi-res photos and click on tools, like the type tool. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Any suggestions on how to fix the problem?

Buy more RAM, plain and simple. Sounds the program is severely suffocating. for on-screen display fonts need also be rasterized, which also costs RAM, even if they otherwise remain native vectors. How much memory do you have? as a short term solution, you may wish to increase the program's RAM usage in the prefs, but it may not resolve the issues entirely.
