Framesets and Navigation buttons

Greetings All:
Now I know what you're going to say first, "don't use
framesets", yada, yada, yada, however, I have had some success.
But, I'm having a problem with two navigation buttons. I have
linked the buttons to the main frame in the inspector as the
instructions tell me. For the "Events " and the "contacts " button
when I click on them I see an error page not found message. Below
is the link to the site. Please advise on what I can do to fix this
problem. The framesets work best for our purposes. Thank you in
advance for your help.

The percent of times that they *are* the best way to go is
vanishingly
small. So, you are much safer saying "they are bad" than
saying "they are
good" by a long shot. In fact, they are awful, particularly
in the hands of
someone who doesn't understand frames and how they work, and
why they work,
and why you shouldn't use them.

Mandatory Fields and Navigation Buttons

Hi
I have a search form where I search by number, then I have the choice to update and submit the request. All fields are required for submission. The problems is that when I have empty fields I cannot use the search and navigation buttons, I tried to set Immediate to true but then the buttons would not perform their action. How can I solve this?

Hi,
immediate works in the combination with response complete. However, because you are omitting the model update you will have to do this manually in an action method or action listener

How can I permanently save my customized toolbars and navigation button settings? When I run Norton Utilities CleanUp, Firefox gets reset to 'factory'.

I like to clean things out on a regular basis but when I run the Norton Clean-up utility all of my custom toolbar and navigation button settings get reset to 'factory' condition. How can I permanently save these changes to my config or preference settings?

Cookies, Completed Forms, .tmp files are all that's set to be cleared. If I can identify the appropriate elements I can protect them from deletion. Does anyone know?

Document Numbering Series and navigation buttons in SBO

Hi there,
A new set of document numbering is created for new financial year.
e.g. SO11-100001 is for financial year 2011 and SO12-100001 is for financial year 2012.
Due to this setup, we have encountered a problem to use SAP navigation button to search between documents such as when I continue to click u201CNEXTu201D button, the documents would be popup in following sequence:
SO11-100001  SO12-100001  SO11-100002  SO12-100002  u2026u2026
Is there a way to just navigte through SO12 series documents only?
If I use series grouping under "Authorizations", this will totally block the previous year's documents. There may still be open docuemnts from last year and therefore, using "Authorizations" is not a wise option.
If there is a workaround, kindly share with me.

Locking address bar and navigation buttons Safari

With the new iOs 7 I have several issues with Safari.
Whenever I scroll down a page in Safari the navigation buttons (back/forward) dissappear and the address bar becomes a lot smaller. Any way to disable that?
Is it possible to show the full URL always?
The Google search box is missing, is there any setting to restore it to a seperate box instead of via the address bar?
Browsing through the open tabs now looks like a card catalog, not really an issue but only half the page is visible where it used to be the whole page.
Everything has changed so much, aggressive colors, buttons that don't look like buttons. I wish I could tweak everything a lot more.

Really really need to see the full URL in the URL bar. A top level domain alone is pretty much worthless and makes web browsing extremely difficult. How do I restore the full URL??

Hi all. I'm really liking Edge reflow as it's a nice and easy way of designing a site, but I'm stuck at something: How can I make navigation buttons and will it be possible to use the files of the website to put the site online? If so, how can I do this?
Excuse my ignorance, I have zero web skill.

Edge Reflow is not meant to build a complete website. The word 'reflow' says it all, this tool is meant to design a page that reflows nicely on various screen sizes (tablet, phone, desktop,...). As of now it's not possible to link elements to pages, thus making it impossible to use Edge Reflow to create a website consisting of more than one page.

On my laptop running windows 7 most of the information has disappeared from the window - headings (file, edit, view, etc), address bar and navigation buttons - all i can see is tabs - how do i get the missing items to display

With version 5 of Firefox, if I open more than 1 session, most of the time I cannot see anything in the navigation bar and my back and forward buttons do not work.

I open 1 session of Firefox 5.0.1 and everything seems to work fine. Then I open a second session of Firefox and most of the time the navigation bar does not show the page that I am on and the back and forward buttons do not work. When this happens, the first session always remains working. I am an internet marketer so I have at least 2 or 3 sessions going at any given time.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Print, Export and Page Navigation Buttons in the Report

When I view a report through CR4E, the generated report has 3 buttons namely Print, Export and Page Navigation buttons. But when I click on either of the buttons I get a 'null pointer exception'. This is a critical error as I am unable to navigate past the first page. Do I have to add code to these buttons? If not, why am I getting an error? Kindly solve my problem as soon as possible.

Looking at your code it appears that you are storing the ReportSource in session prior to passing in the ResultSet. This will create a problem when a postback is made on the viewer page (which all of the viewer actions do). If you look at the sample code which is generated when you use the JSP Page Wizard you will notice that the ResultSet is passed to the ReportClientDocument object prior to it being stored in session. Then, when the page is called again this object is retrieved and the ReportSource is used by the viewer. You can quickly run the test using one of our sample reports to see what I am talking about. When trying to sign out of Hotmail the "back navigation button" remains green and I have to click sign out again and the same thing happens over and over and the only way to close Hotmail is to go to File and Close Frame, so what's my problem?

When I attempt to sign out of Hot Mail by clicking "Sign Out," I get the "Sign In" instruction as I always have, however, the green Firefox navigation button remains on bright green (not going to gray) and my MSN home page will not close automatically as usual. I click on the green arrow and I get an instruction to "Sign Out" again. I click on that and get the "Sign In" again but the arrow stays green. I can repeat this countless times and never get signed out and always remaining on the MSN home page. The only way I can close is to go to File and click on Close Window and then my homepage will close and go back to desktop. I've been using Firefox for a couple of years now (IE prior to that for ten years) and have never had this problem. After using "Close Window" I go back onto my home page, from the desktop, and the navigation button is grayed out normally until I sign in again and we start the cycle over again. Have I been hacked?

I was doing a side-by-side comparison of the new and old server (we backed up the server before the reformat) and I can see that, evidently, CR XI was installed. We have the directory C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0 and all the versions match what is located in the project's bin directory. Does this confirm that I did have XI installed and licensed at one time?
If I purchase a more recent version, couldn't I update the reports to use the newer version? I have all the source code.
Thanks for your help, it is a nice sanity check for me after hours of reading forums and documentation.
Also, just a shot in the dark, but I'm assuming it wouldn't do me any good to simply restore the aforementioned folder to my C drive? Would that work if I registered all the dll's?

To be clear, I do have VS 2003 & 2005, and I have the source code. I just have never used Crystal Reports in any of my .NET apps because the need wasn't there, so recompiling is not out of the question.

Also, I looked at the CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.dll that was in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0\Managed folder and when I right-click and view the properties, then the Version tab, in addition to the 11.0.9500.2 version number, there is a property called Product Version that has the value .NET. Does that mean that this dll was bundled with Visual Studio?
I also found this directory on the old server...does this tell you anything?

I did see that you can still buy XI from CDW. I have a call into them currently to check with Business Objects for any registrations from my company.

Navigation "Back" and "Forward" buttons are inactive, they do not work at all. How do I fix this?

I have downloaded the latest version of firefox and the navigation buttons in the browser will not work in any way. The "Back" and "Forward" buttons are completely un-usable.

Toolbar misbehavior could be due to a problematic add-on (e.g., theme or extension), or a corrupted settings file. Next time you upgrade -- and for security reasons, it is highly recommended -- try Firefox's Safe Mode to see whether you can pin it on an add-on or custom setting. You also could clear your toolbar settings.
More info on Safe Mode:
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, restart Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.org/kb/Safe+Mode Safe Mode] using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the Safe Mode dialog, do not check any boxes, just click "Continue in Safe Mode."

Navigation Buttons, and Branching

I have a project with about 100 slides. I originally didn't expect to have to do any "Branching," so I thought I'd just use a standard skin for navigation. Turns out that I am now requuired to branch to some optional information, and return when done. I had a smaller project where I just went in and added buttons to go back and forth, and jump around. I dread the thought of having to do that again with all 100 slides.
Is there a way to add a button to all slides at once, or disable the back and forward buttons on the skin, for just one or two slides?
By the way, I've read on this forum that you can have the user go back to where he left off, when he jumped to the branch and returned. For the life of me, I can't find info on how to accomplish this.

Coming to your other questions, you cannot use a button to all the slides at once but you can instead use Master Slides for such purpose. You can insert a Smart Shape on your Master Slide and use it as a button from the Properties pane on the right hand side. You can disable the back and forward buttons on the playbar through skin editor but unfortunately they will be disabled for the entire project.

How can I copy and edit navigation buttons and anchors to remain consistent?

I have inherited a web site and I'm just getting started. I need to add navigation buttons that look like the ones already used on severalpages on my site. How do I reproduce these navigation buttons? I have attached one as an example. Thanks for helping such a rookie.

Some very friendly advice here. Stop what you're doing. Put down the mouse. Walk into the boss's office or phone the client and tell them their current website is a flaming disaster. It uses frames which makes the site overly complicated and difficult for site visitors to use. To add further insult, the site is constructed so poorly as to be un-navigable. I can't even see the lower menu in Firefox 3.0.10 on XP. Seriously, this needs to be rebuilt ASAP without frames and with a navigation system that doesn't suck. In the long-run, a good CSS menu would be much simpler for you (and the next poor soul who inherits this site) to work with.

Navigation buttons are not visible and lost it´s functional

I have an intercative document that i have exported from Indesign. On every page their should be an navigation buttons with functions like
next , previous , last page etc. Everything works on a PC but on the Mac the buttons are only visible on the first two pages and on the 80 other
pages they are not visible, but I get the hand with the index finger when i put the pen/mouse on the location where they should be but they have also
lost their function? Can anyone help me here?

Can you change and save navigation buttons in free adober reader XI?

Using Windows 8 and Adobe Reader XI. Can't seem to save changes to navigation buttons i've added so they show for every document i open.
I went into edit/preferences/documents/ checked "Restore last view settings" but still won't save.

Used to be able to in previous versions. Do you know which version and can I revert back to that version?
