If you coming please add to this thread and let us know if you bring friends. Really loved our unofficial events before the SDN Meets Labs.
Really looking forward to it, Mark.

Hi Ramki,
Not sure if you are in the San Francisco Bay Area. If you are, than please join us this Wednesday the 5th of April for an SDN Meet at the San Francisco Airport Marriott: 7pm at the bar.
The first 5 non SAP SDNers will get a prize. Key SDN Team members will be there.
See you there, Mark.
P.S. More details in a Weblog post soon.
P.P.S. I was asked about pictures from the first SDN Meet, unfortunately I only took three with my bad resolution Treo camera Finally I found the time to load them and they are in the SDN Group on flickr:

• Poll: SDN Meet in the US East/Midwest - Which City?

Hi All,
The SDN meets always seem to be happening in the west! I think it is high time one happens in our side of the U.S. Since Mark has not gotten around to my post Frankfurt 6th of February SDN Meet! Who is coming?, let us find out which city would attract the most number of members and bring it to the SDN staff's attention!
My choice, I would not mind Washington D.C, Chicago or New York as long as it is on a Thursday/Friday evening.
Cheers,
Ramki Maley.

Hi Ramki,
There is an event that may interest you: SAP NetWeaver Developer Info Days 17th and 18th of May in Orlando. (Just after ASUG)
It cost $250 and it is a quite interesting line up. Rumour has it, that Mister SDN Thomas Jung will be there and may be we can even twist Craig Cmehil's arm to stay a couple of days longer after Sapphire. I hear his boss is leaving him not so subtle messages in the forums about what he should do
Check it out, we will announce more about it here on SDN.
All the best, Mark.

Hi guys!
Who's coming to Belgium on 4 and 5 february 2012? I am, 'cause I live there :-)
Is Arch Linux in the distro's list this year? Else, you'll have to be fast. I'd really like to contribute, if so. I'll help as much as possible.

my 6th gen nano voiceover has mysteriously started coming on 2-3 times per song. voiceover is set to off in settings and i have reset the nano. it's very frustrating listening to that voice which identifies song, artist and playlist. help!

If a restore of the Nano in iTunes to factory settings does not resolve the issue, it's likely hardware related, meaning you should take or send your iPod in for service.

• SDN meets Labs - Abstract

As a lot of SDN members I attend the SDN Event in St. Leon Roth. I was impressed by the ideas and technical solutions shown at the event.
On my drive back from St. Leon Roth and the following days in the office I try to put business scenarios together to approach the market.
I had to explain that I'm working for a business in Austria (Partner of SAP) focused on the Health market.
Out from my view I will be a challenge for all of us (SAP + Partners) to built solutions on top of the hot technical stuff. This solutions need to have a clear benefit (in financial terms) for each customer otherwise it will be hard to sell this things.
I opened this topic not because I want to tell everybody that new things are useless, in the opposite I belief that in our fast moving eco systems its very important to set the pace with inovations and ideas - this is driving the IT business. But it is also very important not to get flashed by the technical base only - we need to built hot and salable things on top of this.
This are my thoughts so far.
Last but not least i want to say that i enjoy the Event starting from the first minute - graet thing.

Hi Siggi,
Sorry I missed you at the end of the event. I was busy all the time and thought at least one of the SDN sessions I should see.
Now you didn't get your well deserved 1K T-Shirt. Rest assured we will send it to you. But I am more bummed that I didn't meet you and now I don't have a face to your post.
Hope in one of the next events we will be able to shake hands, Mark.

• SDN Meets labs, Walldorf Event

Hi SDN,
today, before I left, I wanted to pick up my t-shirt (1K SDN) at the walldorf event as it was offered by Mark Finnern. But looking around, I couldn't find anybody to hand out the t-shirt. I could have taken it by myself, but this is for sure not very nice. This is not a real issue, but just a little negative point in the overall good organization an my good impression on the event.
regards
Siggi

• February ALVIN Meeting

MEETING NOTICE:
ALBUQUERQUE LABVIEW INTEREST NETWORK (ALVIN): Meeting, Thursday, February
15th, 2007 at 11:15 AM at Ktech Inc., 10800 Gibson SE, Albuquerque, NM

Hi Larry,
It's great to see that you are still setting the worldwide standard for how to organize and run an independant LabVIEW UG - good job!
Unfortunately NI still has issues (sorry; "challenges") keeping the NI website up to date here.
However, I will recommend anyone around Albuquerque to attend an ALVIN meeting - you're lucky to have Larry and Rob in the area...

• Trouble with Meeting Requests not coming through - GMail to Exchange

I've just started trying to get a handle on all the thing my wife schedules for me around the kids. I've tried to get her to send me meeting requests so they go on my calendar but a lot of the time they're just not coming through. I get all of her emails and I get meeting requests all day long but there seems to be a problem getting the meeting requets from her.
She has an iPhone 4S and I have an iPhone 5 both running IOS 6.
She has gmail set up as Exchange in Mail on the iPhone.
I have a true MS Exchange account set up on the iPhone
She will create an event and add my work email as the invitee. It will show up on her phone but never come through sometimes.
Sometimes I've noticed that on her phone my name has a question mark next to it in the invite.
Any ideas? Any direction?
Thanks
Josh

Any ideas on this? Still having the problem.
Thanks

• External Presenter removed from meeting after 1 hour of presenting

Any time we have give presentation rights to an external customer who is coming in as a guest and using the web access to the meeting, and they are presenting for over 1 hour they are removed from the meeting while still actively presenting content.
They must then rejoin the meeting and start presenting again.
If the meeting organizer is presenting material to these same types of connection, they are not removed when they are just viewing what is being presented.
It is only when they are presenting for more than 1 hour, that the external presenter is removed.
It has got to be some sort of timer, just not sure where to look to find it.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks, Mike

Hi,
I test the issue as a guest with Lync Web App, but not face the same issue.
Please check if all users meet the same issue or just happen once.
Please make sure Lync Server update to the latest version and then test the issue again.

• Do you feel like helping those who don't help anyone?

I have a confession to make: sometimes if the person asking a question has been on SDN for years, has hundreds of posts but 0 points, I just don't feel like replying. It could be that this person actually helped a lot of other SDNers, but they were ungrateful and didn't assign any points, but I think that most likely this person only goes to SDN to ask his/her question and hasn't bothered at all to help others. So why spend any time helping this SDN "vampire"?
Am I the only one thinking like that? Is it wrong?

Yes, I normally do a bit of a background check on folks before I answer.
You don't need moderator access to do this; only to reject the post if they have still not learnt to use the search or expect others to do their work for them...
That is why Abuse Reports are great as well, and you are one of my favourite SDN'ers who's reports can always be relied upon.
In special cases we investigate further when folks are using one account to ask questions and another to answer. This is not only limited to both being within the same thread which is the obvious (and very stupid) option...
9 times out of 10 they loose everything for sufficient reasons.
My 2 cents,
Julius

• SDN Leech

I posted a question on the PI forum today (Email notifications from Seeburger Workbench) and was really surprised to see a little while later that my question had appeared on an external site [(link here)|http://www.qnasap.com/email-notifications-from-seeburger-workbench/], and with no reference to SDN or who has posted it.
Is anyone at SAP and the SDN team aware of this site that is apparently leeching questions from SDN? Surely this is not right and must be stopped!
Rgds
Manish

Unfortuantely this has been raised before about blogs being copied by both moderators and SAP Mentors and the response so far has been that you as the creator of the content need to pursue the offender instead of SCN protecting the content for you.
Since the content was a in forum post, unless you are going to add to every response: use of this reply on any other site outside of sap.com is prohibited, you will not get anywhere. Some members have added disclaimers to their blogs in attempt to have a valid case against stealing, but it still doesn't work.
So the moral of my story is that don't post anything on SCN that you would not want someone else to steal in order to make a profit of your work who is not technically SAP the company using it. Remember when you post here you are providing content to SAP to use, which most of us by nature of posting, have no problem, since it is shared with the rest of the SAP community.
Until someone decides to come up with a better content-protection scheme for community contributions, so that folks can't just copy the site and sell advertising on a copy of our work, I dont' know what to tell you beside that the situation stinks.
Take care,
Stepehn
