Fraudulent Email for iCloud Storage?

We received this email about 6-7 weeks ago.  Is it a Phishing email?
We recently announced new, more affordable iCloud storage plans. As a thank you for being a current iCloud storage plan subscriber, we’ve increased your storage plan.
Your plan has been upgraded from 15 GB of total storage at $20.00 a year to 20 GB at just $10.99 a year. On November 19, 2014 this 20 GB plan will automatically renew and you will be charged $10.99.
We increased the amount of storage in our new plans so you can get the most out of our new features like iCloud Drive, which lets you store and access any type of file from all your devices. All edits you make are automatically updated, which means you’ll always have access to the latest version of all your documents.
If you need more storage, you can choose a different plan from iCloud Settings at any time, right from your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or PC.
The iCloud Team
NOTE: This annually priced storage plan is only available to current iCloud storage plan subscribers. You may cancel or downgrade from your device at any time. If you choose to change to one of our new plans, you won’t be able to switch back to this annual plan. You can contact Apple for a refund within 15 days of an upgrade. Partial refunds are available where required by law.

In preparing for iCloud storage to be reduced to 5GB, I have deleted all my emails (via internet to iCloud) including all inboxes, sent mail, archived etc. HOWEVER my iPhone (under Settings>iCloud>Storage and Backup>Manage Storage says I have 8.5 GB. Please help!

The only thing I can think of that may cause this would be storage buffering.  See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4873.

  • FIX: Unable to update/change credit card for iCloud Storage

You may get an email from Apple that says that they are having a problem processing your credit card for iCloud Storage. The email then goes on to give you three instructions to fix this by tapping on SETTINGS -> iCLOUD then tapping on "Account" and then following on-screen instructions.
If (like me) you see that your card is OK but you are still getting the email and you cannot edit the payment details, this is what you do.
    Turn off Family Sharing.
Once this is done, you will then see that the old card details are really what is trying to be used, and you can then update your payment option. This is not known about in front line support and it was only a high ranking tech support person in iTunes support who mentioned this in passing as a possible cure. Share it please as  failing to get your payment option correct can result in losing your iCloud Storage Plan and placing you back at basic free levels.

  • Got email saying Icloud storage full.  Yet, iCloud on mac

Got email saying Icloud storage full.  Yet, iCloud on mac & Ipad shows 4.62 GB avail. of 5GB total.  How do I find out what is exactly wrong?

Most likely nothing is, others have received this email but nothing happens. For now (unless you are having problem) ignore it.

  • I changed my apple id email address to try jumpstart my account to send me a verification email for iCloud activation.  It worked but now I cannot change back to my original email address.  It says its in use.

    Hi Guys
I am writing this on behalf of a friend of mine.  To understand my issue let me explain how it started.  My friend has a apple ID with email address (lets call it) [email protected]  when activating iCloud on her iPhone a email was sent to verify her account.  This was not done and rendered the iCloud feature disabled due to not being activated.  [email protected] is the correct email address and works.  A form of troubleshooting I used the iForgot service to test if the email address was correct and mail flow from apple was working and it worked fine.
I logged into apple id to manage account and resend activation email for iCloud.  this did not send the mail.  I waited 48hrs but to no avail.
I decided to kickstart the account to force it to send to another email address by changing the primary email address from [email protected] to [email protected]  it worked and I verified the address and iCloud is now active.  However now I cannot change the primary email address back to [email protected] as it says its being used by another apple ID.
I then tried iForgot with the [email protected] email address, it says it sent a email to [email protected] but nothing arrived in [email protected] or [email protected]
I have this feeling the [email protected] is stuck I'm memory on my apple ID some how but can't get it to forget [email protected] so that I can use it as my primary email address again.
I have tried to log into iTunes with my original details [email protected] and password but says its incorrect.
any advices in this would be greatly appreciated.

The idea to jumpstart by change was not the smartest one, but gives you an opportunity to use that "temporary" account as permanent. You do not have a choice cause obviously despite you thinking that old account is no more -it does exist on Apple servers. And if you are unwilling to share your [email protected] with friend, just create one extra [email protected] for your friend. One suggestion - do not use gmail.

  • Can I use Paypal to pay for Icloud storage?

Can I use Paypal to pay for Icloud storage?  We are getting messages that we are exceeding the 5GB of free storage and need to pay for additional storage.  I can use Paypal on ITunes but don't see that option with Icloud storage?   What am I doing wrong?

The payment associated with your account is for all iTunes and App store related purchases. If you already have a valid payment method in place, you shouldn't be asked for one when you purchased additional iCloud storage.

  • Is it possible to pay for iCloud storage plan with money from iTunes?

Is it possible to pay for iCloud storage plan with money from iTunes?

    Hey LARISAFROMTX,
Thanks for the question. Yes, you can use iTunes Store credit to pay for an iCloud storage upgrade:
Accepted payment methods for iCloud storage upgrades include credit cards, debit cards, and iTunes Store credit. If you don't have enough iTunes store credit to complete your upgrade, you'll be charged the remaining amount. Apple Store gift cards are not accepted as payment for upgrading iCloud storage.

  • Can't verify email for iCloud on iPad or Mac

can't verify email for iCloud on iPad or Mac / not getting email (I've apple ID)

I have seen this issue brought up many times here in the community and decided to share my experience. I too could get verification. I had an AppleId before iCloud, it was used for Apple Store purchases. I made sure that the email I was using for the ID was not the same as what I was using for the ICloud ID. Next I signed in to my ICloud ID at
    Appleid.apple.com
I changed my email to a secondary e-mail I had. It was a gmail account.
I then verified that email address by logging into gmail and responding to email sent by apple.
I logged back into iCloud account and added an additional email to my account. I added the email that previously wasn't receiving the verification.
I then verified that email address by checking and responding to verifying email sent by apple.
I then logged back into iCloud account. Both emails I entered were verified. (primary and secondary)
I EDIT ' ed the primary using the secondary email address.
This removed my secondary address and made it my primary.
It was verified previously so I was done.
I went into settings>iCloud and a verifying email was sent.
    It worked.
It may seem like a lot to do, but it works.

  • Cannot receive verification email for iCloud

I cannot get the verification email for icloud. does anyone have any ideas apple dont appear to.....

The email should be sent to the primary email address you used when setting up the Apple ID you are using to set up your iCloud account.  If you aren't sure what email address that is check on My Apple ID.  Be sure to check both your inbox and your spam/junk folder.  If it isn't there go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right click Resend under your Primary Email Address to resend the verification email.
If you have attempted to resend the verification email multiple times and it still hasn't arrived, try contacting iTunes store support here: http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html.  They deal with Apple ID issues all the time and can probably help you with this.
You can check to see if you have a different ID by following this guide: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5625, but the verification email should be sent to the email address associated with the ID you are using to set up your iCloud account.

  • Verfication email for icloud

I have resent the verification email for icloud account multiple times but it never arrives. Very frustrating. Has anyone got any ideas?

Be sure you are checking the email account that you used when setting up your iCloud ID.  Be sure to check both the inbox and your spam/junk folder.
If it isn't there, and you've already tried resending it, all you can do is wait it out.

I do not want to be charged for iCloud storage plan how do I stop it?

If you want to downgrade your storage to the free 5GB at the end of the current plan year, tap Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Change Storage Plan, tap Downgrade options then choose the plan you want at the end of the current year.
If you want a refund for a recent storage upgrade purchase, try calling 1-800-MYAPPLE (in the U.S.).
