Free apps I downloaded won't sync to my iPod touch using version 1.1.4

Hi, this is my first post, ever.
I downloaded a bunch of free apps for my iPod Touch (1st generation, using version 1.1.4 of the software), but they won't sync from iTunes to my iPod Touch.
Maybe they "expired" and aren't free any more, so that's why they won't sync? I don't know.
Please let me know what I should do.
Thanks,
cmj

... and even if the Apps don't require OS 3, they will need at least OS 2. Since you don't even have that on your iPod, that's why they will not Sync. There is no option to move up to version 2 of the OS, so go straight to version 3.0. It doesn't cost much - and you'll be glad you did it.

  • If I help out a friend & download a free app (through my iTunes account) on their new iPod Touch, will their device automatically be added to my itunes device list (and they can see all my contacts, pix, music etc)?

If I help out a friend & download a free app (through my iTunes account) on their new iPod Touch, will their device automatically be added to my itunes device list (and they can see all my contacts, pix, music etc)?

Just wondering, what context is this in?
First up, is your iTunes account part of an iCloud account?
Secondly, if it's a free app, why don't they just download it? If they are having trouble finding it on the App Store, but you can find it easily, you can share the link for it via email with them, and if they view that email on their iPod they can just tap the link and it will open the App Store to that App for them, so they can download it themselves.
If you were to go to the Store settings pane and sign in with your iTunes account, that should only provide the possibility for download items from your iTunes account, such as purchased apps, music and movies. However, if you signed in, downloaded the app, and then went back and signed out of the account again, there shouldn't be any access apart from the app you downloaded. This is provided you sign in using the Store section of the Settings app, not the iCloud section.
One problem they will have if you download this in your account instead of theirs, in order to download updates for that app, they will need you to enter your iTunes password to download the updates. Doing that doesn't give them access to anythign to do with your account other than that update, but they will be unable to receive updates for it without your password. They would also likely be unable to sync the app onto their computer, as their computer would not be Authorised with your iTunes account.
If you can answer some of the questions I've asked, I may be able to suggest alternate ways for you get them the app on their device.
Hope this all helps a bit

  • When i download apps from itunes they wont sync to my ipod touch?

when i dowload apps from itunes on my laptop the apps wont sync to my ipod touch?

Do you have the correct boxes checked to sync the apps to the iPod?
Is the iPod signed into the same aiTunes account that purchased the apps?
Are the apps compatible with your iPod model?
Have you syncd apps to your iPod before?
Have you tried downloading the app directly to your iPod? If you are signed into the same iTunes account that originally purchased them you will not be charged again.

  • Can I sync my two ipod touches using the same iTunes account

I have two ipod touches and I am wondering if I can sync my legally bought digital movies from blu-ray discs that are on the cpu and registered, will it sync with two ipod touches with the same iTunes account.

The movies on the laptop are just digital copies. A lot of newer blu-ray movies come out with the blu-ray and a digital copy for the cpu as well. Thanks for responding.

  • Apps won't sync to new iPod touch 4rth Gen?

I have an iPod touch 3rd gen, and just got the fourth gen. Why won't it sync my old apps? It acts like its going to and then stops. My music sync'ed fine..

Previously I read of someone who could not fill the last 70 mb of their ipod, and were worried about that.
The replies to that seemed eminently sensible in suggesting that the ipod needs certain amounts of free space in order to allow things like web pages and emails to be downloaded should a person use those functions. Because of this it was unlikely to accept applications and tunes to fill up the full amount of reported memory. Also the people who posted (who seemed to know what they were talking about), seemed to think that a bit of free space was a good thing
I would suggest that you might need to delete more, and release more free space before this app will sync, and perhaps might be better to free up a decent chunk to let the ipod function as well as it can

  • How come the apps that I downloaded will not sync onto my Ipod touch?

Well recently I was really wanted to have apps on my ipod touch. (Its iOS is 5.1.1)
When I try to sync on an app to my ipod touch it doesn't sync in the apps!!
    What can I do!?!? ._.

Please don't use bolded over-sized fonts.
Do the apps require IOS level greater than IOS-5?

  • Why do apps say that you need iPod touch 3rd generation but then won't sync to my iPod touch 3rd generation?

I just bought three apps that listed iPod touch 3rd generation under the "Requirements", but then when I went to sync those apps to my iPod touch 3rd generation, it said my iOS was out of date for them.

You obviously need to update your ios version on your ipod.

  • ITunes won't sync music with iPod Touch (5th Gen) After 7.0.3 Update.

    Hello,
I am just wondering has any solutions as to what might be the problem.
I have a 5th Gen iPod Touch and up until I updated it to the latest version of iOS 7.0.3 and iTunes 11.1.2.31 everything had been working fine.
Now since that update no new music will sync to my iPod. Applications, Photos and Movies work ok. I buy my music off the iTunes store. If I download an app for instance on my iPod the next time I go to iTunes it starts to download into the libary with no problem.
My computer recognises my iPod and then starts the sync process at the very end it says "Copying diagnostic information" then onto "Waiting for changes to be applied" that last step lasts for about a minute.
I can download tracks and albums onto my iTunes library onto my Windows 7 PC but when applying it onto my iPod nothing gets applied.
So, my question is has anyone found out that Apple is aware of the problem and are they going to fix it with another software update or is there anything that I can do that will resolve this problem.
I have tries de-authorizing my computer and then authrorizing it again to sync content onto my iPod.
The only way for now to get new content onto my iPod is to download directly to my iPod my using "Purchased" in iTunes store.
Thanks for your reponces in advance!
    Best,
    OrlaG

This is what I am experiencing. The top image is a playlist I made on the ipod. The second image in when I go to "On This iPod" > Purchased > Music
Could it be the iPod. All the other tracks work perfectly. Saturday was when this started

  • The music in my iTunes library won't sync to my iPod touch

I have a 32 GB 3rd iPod touch. And earlier after I had finished downloading some new music, I tried to sync my iPod. First it told me I had to restore my iPod, because it couldn't be read. I did. And three hours later, it was done. So once again, I plugged my iPod up to my PC with a USB, and tried syncing again. The first few times it told me it couldn't start a session, or something along the lines of that (Was on the phone when this popped up, so I was a bit distracted, and don't quite remember what it said). So I restarted my iPod, closed out iTunes, restarted iTunes, and tried again.
Now I can click sync, it will read my iPod, and it won't give me an error, and it will go through the syncing process, and then finish. But my music still won't show up on my iPod. And the bar next to 'Capacity' keeps changing.
    For an example:
    Before sync it will say:
    Capacity -  28.36 GB
    Audio - 0.01 GB
    And then everything else.
During the sync the audio goes up to 4 GB, and after the sync it's back to 0.01, and there is still no music on my iPod.
I have it set to sync the entire music library, I've tried resetting all settings, it's been restored (And then restarted, so has iTunes), and I have tried multiple times. I have no idea what's going on, and it's really irritating. Any help would be appreciated!

  • My Outlook calendar won't sync with my ipod touch and vice versa.  Wherever I input the info is where it stays. Contacts and notes sync but not calendar.

My iPod Calendar won't sync with my Outlook Calendar and vice versa.  Wherever I input the information is where it stays.  My contacts and notes sync just fine.  Please help.  Very frustrated.  It used to work just fine.  I just upgraded to iTunes 10.2 version.

I have the same problem since I updated to iTunes 10.2 Sue (I think). For me this was somewhere in January.
I wasn't sure iTunes was the issue, until I read your post. I tested syncing a note, and that works fine.
My 2nd generation Ipod Touch runs on IOS 4.2.1. It won't upgrade to 4.3.
Possibly the synchonisation between iTunes 10.2 and IOS 4.2.1 doesn't work correctly.
Has somebody else solved this isue? I use both calendars (on iPod Touch and on PC) for work and private matters.
Otherwise I have to uninstall iTunes 10.2 and downgrade to 10.2.

  • ITunes won't sync pictures to iPod Touch

For some reason, my iTunes will no longer sync pictures from iPhoto to my iPod Touch 1. gen.
I tell it to sync the five last photo albums, but during sync I get a error message saying that the archives I'm trying to synchronize do not exist (well, it says something like that, in Danish).
Any ideas regarding a possible cause/solution to this problem?

  • Music won't sync onto my ipod touch 5?

please help!! i added some new music onto my itunes to put on my ipod touch 5 and when i tried to sync it last night it would never complete the process, getting stuck on step 6 of 6 for ages, eventually i gave up ejected it and thought i could wait to listen to my new songs tomorrow.. then when i looked at my ipod's music after it only has about 1,300 songs compared to my usual number of roughly 5,700 ??? it's making me pretty worried and i don't want to restore my ipod because i'm not sure how much of it is backed up and have lost everything before so i'm really not in the mood for that again lol. this morning i tried syncing it just incase and it went through the steps quickly and was finished in about 30 seconds, but still didn't put the rest of my music on... did i accidentally untick something while playing around with the settings? i also have tried restarting both my laptop and ipod, i would really appreciate any help as i'm listening to my ipod all the time !!!

if the status bar is what i think it is then it was saying 5405 items, 14.9 days, 36.33 gb ? but the bar that shows how much storage is taken up by what showed my ipod to only have the 1,300 something songs, i'm not sure what i did but i just pressed sync again and it's loading all the music back on for now

  • ITunes won't sync info to iPod touch

    Hello,
I keep getting the following error message when attempting to sync my contacts, calendar, and bookmarks with my iPod. When I check these under the "info" tab and ciick apply, the following error message appears:
"iTunes cannot sync information with this iPod because syncing has been disabled on this computer. Do you want to enable syncing? If you do not enable syncing, iTunes will not be able to sync contacts, calendars, bookmarks or mail accounts to your iPod."
When I click yes, the following prompt appears:
"iTunes was unable to load provider data Sync Services. Reconnect or try again later."
When I click OK, it takes away my selections to sync contacts, calendars, etc.
I have never disabled syncing. I've looked through system and iTunes preferences and can't even find an option to disable/enable syncing.
This was after I updated my iTunes. Then I tried reinstalling it but noting.
Any advice about how to resolve this very frustrating problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time.
I'm attempting to setup up MobileMe and need to get this problem resolved.
    Thanks,
    Kouzouz

Ok...I found a fix that worked awesome on my iTouch. The only drawback was that I had to re-import all of my music, but that might have a lot to do with the fact that I fugged with my Library file(s) before attempting this fix. Here goes...
Follow tediknight's process for removal of the offending iTunes 9.1:
here are they programs and you have to delete them in order
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Now go here: http://www.oldapps.com/itunes.php?old_itunes=54#download and pick the version you would like. If you've got an iTouch, you're going to have to pick a version 9.0 or newer...which doesn't give much wiggle room. I picked the most recent version before the 9.1 clusterfug (9.0.3 and in my case 64 bit) because I knew that version had worked right up until the update. If you have a 64 bit Windows system, MAKE SURE you pick a 64 bit build. Otherwise, you're just wasting your time downloading and will have to start all over.
I spent three days solving this problem, and now I'm back up and running. (Other than still having a thousand or so songs to move back into iTunes. But, like I said earlier, that may have been my own fault, or my inability to follow the instructions to restore my library. The files are still there.)
I hope this helps some folks out. I know I was frustrated to all **.
