Free bumpers in Poland

Hi
I have problem with ordering the free bumper.
At first it was ok and almost did order but I wanted to change the address. So I started again but this time is said that the serial number and IMEI are not correct. So what can I do to order this bumper? What's going on with my serial and IMEI?

Nothing, most probably. Recall is too expensive and will take much more time than that. By end of September this whole hysteria will die a natural death. Those who are upset will all return the phone by the time, others will put on bumpers and forget and majority will never experience the issue and will wonder what the fuss was about. Only the small group of masochistic diehards will keep their un-working, as they say, phones and continue to raise a stink on forums. But media and bloggers will already move on to exaggerate the next cause celibre as they always do.

  • September 30- free bumpers- what then

I had a pre order which I cancelled for obvious reasons. I am now waiting to see if they do fix the antenna problem. Not with the band-aid bumpers. What is the significance of September 30. Will they be tooled up to coat the SS band or some other fix? I mean, they can not just stop with the free bumpers if they don't truly fix the phone.
I would imagine that the majority of hard core iPhone fans have already purchased theirs. So, if they don't fix the phone properly, I can not see their sales staying very high. To get new customers or even some not so hard core existing customers (myself) to buy this phone they have to fix this issue. It would be like Apple saying, "We will give you a free bumper until September 30 but after that by purchasing this phone you are accepting it's flaws.
I am thinking they are going to fix this with "The new batch". Hence September 30th. They did say, as to continue or not of the giving of free bumpers/cases after this date remains to be seen. I would imagine that is to see if they have the most reasonable idea to fix the issue and tooling ready by then.
I hope so because I do like these phones. I am just not hardcore enough to have stuck with my pre order after seeing the issues. That to me is just silly.
    We will see.
I have the 3G, 3GS, and I am typing this on an iPad. (that locks up way too often when playing buffered video) For some reason I had to throw that in there. Other than that I like it a lot. I use it constantly.

From the press conference, Jobs has offered to give out free bumpers to new customers and existing customers if they are currently having this issue. At the moment, there are more i4 devices than bumpers. They are in the process of making more which will take time.
Jobs announced Apple would be feverishly working on the current problem with staying connected while touching the bottom end of the i4. Apple would get back to us with a progress report no later than September 30th if I'm not mistaken on the video interpretation. If you review the patch history on Wikipedia, this would be the period of 4.1 (3.1,2.1 September).
In the mean time, Apple would be happy to provide bumpers with i4 devices, or as several has stated return it to purchased vendor for a refund request. It has to be before your time runs out on the return policy of 30 days or the date your vendor has stated is your cutoff point. July 23rd if they don't lock you out on the June 23rd pre-order bit.

  • Why Apple released 4.0.1 and next day free bumpers?

Since day iPhone 4 released until now i haven't get a drop call, but i have see my iphone 4 have reception issue, sometime go down to 1 bar.
My question is why Apple release 4.0.1 then free bumpers, event though apple can not fix the problem 100%, only some degrees.
Youtube have some video iphone 4 with bumper but still get reception issue.
The 4.0.1 is look very weird, I wish when 4.1 come out we have an option not to install 4.0.1 update.

You've hit it on the head,.. "Youtube have some video iphone 4 with bumper but still get reception issue." the free bumpers do help the reception issue but they do not solve the problem, this issue has not gone away by any stretch of the imagination,..
I have a case on mine and it has helped but i still have issues

  • Press conference. FREE BUMPERS/CASES

    That's right, free bumpers/cases

In the press conference he said that they would give away a free case to every iPhone 4 owner who asks for one.
They don't have enough bumpers so they are going to give the consumer a choice of cases to choose from. If you are still not happy with the product, you can return it, undamaged, for a full refund.

  • Can I get the free bumpers from an Apple store?

    Heya guys,
I was just wondering if anyone knew the answer to this? Will it be a mail order only thing or can I rush to the Apple store this Am and grab my free bumper? I know Steve said they will send them through the post but I'd far rather go and pick one up.
    Cheers

There will be more information later this week on Apple's website.

  • Is apple still giving out free bumpers for those who need it?

purchased an iphone 4 awhile now and wondering is apple still doing bumper cases for free?

I don't believe so, think that promo ended last year. You are free to contact them directly to inquire, we are just users here.

  • When will free iPhone 4 cases be availble online?

I guess by "later this week" they mean Friday.

I agree! I too would like to protect my iPhone 4, but refuse to go out and buy one. The bad thing about it was about a week ago I was willing to buy the bumper and had my local store call me when their shipment came in and they never called and it was a week before they announced the free bumpers.
What's going to suck is that once you order your free case/bumper, it's probably going to take another 3 - 4 weeks to receive it with shipping and all!

  • IPhone 4 Bumpers/Cases

Does anyone know how apple intends on rolling out the rebates/free bumpers? will it just magically appear one morning on the site leaving everyone in hopes and dreams to be able to get there hands on one? or will there be a hard date/time they are going to put this thing up?

    lewie325 wrote:
Looks like the smart ones are those who ordered their bumpers and are getting a refund!
I did both. They processed my refund automatically and I just ordered a case through the app. It says "order processed" but it'll likely get canceled eventually. It was worth a shot, I guess.

  • Dope calls with great signal, how do I get a free bumper?

I know about the "holding it" wrong problem but this isn't it. I get a lot of drop calls, I never did with the 3G. I have signal bars, thats the issues. Anyone have this problem? also I seem to but people on mute at times when I am talking. How do you fix this? If not mute it will jump over to the keypad.
Also I did a search but can't found out how one gets the free bumper case that Apple said they would give out. thanks

Might want to try searching the forums, as this same question has been asked and answered umpteen times.
Apple will be posting info on the free bumpers on their website sometime this week. Keep checking.

  • Detuning is not equal to blocking and attenuation

Steve talked alot about holding the phone and blocking the signal, thus causing attenuation, and how it exists in other phones.
    fine.
Why did he not talk about the OTHER issue, which is the detuning that results when human contact bridges WiFi antenna with the Cellular antenna?

That's what bothered me about the press conference: while they mentioned the "bridging the gap" issue, they made it more about blocking the antenna, which is almost a non-issue on an externally-wrapping antenna. I'm not sure you can compare the iPhone to those other phones because they have internal antennas that don't wrap around the phone.
What they did in their demonstration with the iPhone was both block the antenna and bridge the gap; they made no distinguishing between blocking and bridging. If they had simply unbridged, the reception would have dropped less.
What they need to do is simply move the gaps to the top of the phone where they are less likely to be bridged, or put a thin film over them so they can't be bridged. Either way it's easy. The antennas can be re-molded while keeping the same screw holes.
It's amazing that a company that spends hundreds of millions of dollars on research and development can't suggest those two solutions and simply provide them. If 0.55% of people are complaining, well, that's 0.55% of their phones being sent in for a fix. Probably less of a cost than handing out free bumpers to anybody who "reports" a problem.

  • Q&A left out of press conference video lol...

Why would Apple purposely leave out the Q&A at the end of the press conference? There is a reason for this folks lol...because reporters were calling them out on stuff and Steve Jobs could not respond correctly to them. I know someone who went to the conference and they said the Q&A part was pretty 'heavy'. Come on Apple post the whole thing or don't post it all, stop trying to hide stuff from the public!

i can get only through online.
stock in the store only mean for sales.
thats no wonder why. steve job said. we don't have enought bumper for anyone.
    cause it's only for sales
aren't u s2pid to go in store "today" to get a free bumper when SJ said u can get it "online NEXTWEEK!" Also, free bumpers or 3rd party cases are only available in store when you purchase a new iphone i presume. so no free bumpers in store, ONLY ONLINE!

  • Proximity Sensor: What if Apple told everyone to use their headsets?

That's essentially what they're doing by providing free bumpers. Not everyone is going to need it, cuz not everyone is going have reception problems. Though, the underlying cause for reception error (placing the antenna in an area where a user is likely to bridge it) will still be there.
My point is, what if for those people experiencing the Proximity Sensor issue, Apple just decided to say hey... use the speakerphone, use the supplied headset, or just hold it away from your face?
At least they finally addressed the problem, but it seemed like an after thought. Till the problem is fixed, I've been using the headset, but the thing is I shouldn't have to.
BTW: I can't return it, cuz my 3G is gone and my ultra-durable-scratch-resistant screen cracked (my fault, I know :p)

Would a cracked screen affect the operation of the proximity sensor? I wonder.
    Phil
Nah.. I was experiencing the problem before I accidently dropped the phone. I had took it in to an Apple store, and they offered to replace the phone for me, but I had to come back when I had more time and a day off from work. Well the day, I was supposed to come in, was the day I dropped my phone. MY BAD!!!, oh well.. hopefully it's a simple software fix.

  • Garnishment Refund throu 3rd party

    Hello all,
    We are in ECC 6.0
We are processing the Garnishments through the 3rd party processing.  Every thing works fine.
When a employee got a refund set through IT 216, (MG60/MG70), does this WT processed through the 3rd party process.

thinking about it from a business perspective should go out the window when it took Apple so long to admit there's an issue and FINALLY agree to provide bumpers/cases for a PHONE that was unusable for many people for WEEKS forcing them to buy a case of some kind to use the phone as it was intended to be used ("implied warranty of merchantability, anyone??) and not having a crystal ball that Apple would eventually open their eyes and offer free bumpers (or other cases they choose).
This entire iPhone 4 launch and response is going to go down in the history books for business students to study about how NOT to act.....
    just my $.02

  • Bumper actually making signal worse?

I am one of those folks who has not had issues with the so called "Death Grip"...I use bluetooth a lot and hold my phone as though it is a fine instrument rather than a club or hammer. Still, when Apple offered the free bumpers and cases, I signed up for one...just so I could try it out.
So far, I don't think I will use it much. It doesn't work with my dock nor does it work with the windshield mount I use and so it isn't terribly convenient. I could find a different dock or mount, but I don't know why I would based on the most significant issue I have had with it thus far.
The bumper actually has made my 3G reception worse when it is on the phone and my phone will intermittently lose 3G service altogether. Even just setting on my desk.
Has anyone else had this issue?

I seem to be suffering the same effects. It's very odd. I'm going to experiment with it for a few days though(I just received it today)
