Free? You want people to do all the work and hand it over for free?
C'mon man.
Magic Bullet, as you know, has presets. Film Effects from nattress.com has a bunch too, and is a great tool for only $100.
I don't know of free presets...sorry.

  • Kindly suggest me a free effect or plugin for color grading and correction in fcpx ....

I can't buy any more third party plugins at the moment .....plz now the only work remaining in my music video is color correction ....I want to give it a film look....can you suggest me a free effect or plugin with some presets to give it a good look.....Thank you....

I'd have to start by echoing what Tom said - the color tools in FCPX are well capable of creating a "flim look" and fixing color issues - which is all you've said is required.
I'd start with effects like "Dry Heat" and combine it with other effects and coloring.
3rd party tools are only going to give you similar presets that won't work in all cases, and you'll have to do the same thing. That is, you still need to figure out how to color properly whether you get 3rd party tools or not.
Having said that, I use Magic Bullet Mojo, because it ultimately combines many useful "Dry Heat"/filmy type effects into one and is sensitive to, and has several special parameters, for getting skin tones right.

  • Can preset plugins be copied from Cool Edit Pro to Audition?

Can preset plugins be added/copied from Cool Edit Pro to use in Audition? There are just some equalizer settings in CEP I liked a lot and they are not in Audition.

Even though it might be possible, you might also not like the results any more - the EQ engines have been rebuilt and there's no guarantee that they will sound the same at all.
There are no guarantees, but if it's going to work at all, you find the Cool.ini file in preferences, and drop it onto the Audition icon on the desktop. Has to be the right ini file though - it's the one that's normally hidden in your user preferences, and much larger than the one that's easy to find.

  • Color picker plugins not working after upgrade

I recently upgraded my MacBook Pro to Snow Leopard, and I couldn't help but notice that the two color picker plugins I have installed (Hex Color Picker and Painter's Picker) have disappeared from the color picker. I went into /Library/ColorPickers, where I installed them, and they were still there. I even copied them to the equivalent directory in my home folder, and still no luck. Does anybody know what's going on and, more importantly, how I can fix it? Thanks!

I had the same issue with the same colorpickers. But, dig this…
Those color pickers do not appear in TextEdit, but do appear in other apps (Bean, Pages, Omnigraffle, HexColor—a cool app that allows you to launch the Color Chooser alone check it out) Just about any other apps besides TextEdit and Terminal…
There's a pattern here. 64bit apps do not recognize the 32bit colorpickers. If you launch the apps in 32bit mode they will recognize the colorpickers. To do so—click on the app in the finder, hit cmd I (or File/Get Info) and check Open in 32bit mode.
But I just use HexColor (freeware from http://deepit.ru/) for those few, you have to drag/drop the color in is the main draw back.

  • Color grading plugin for FCP?

I experience more and more problems with the Send to Shake function as time goes (FCP updates, Shake does not). Is there a good quality color correct plugin for FCP? More advanced than the standard 3-way color corrector..

Just exactly what is it you're wanting to accomplish? FCP has an amazing variety of color tools contained within it's tool set, although not nearly as surgical as Shake.
Colorista II ain't worth the money to me as it's really no different than the 3Way with the exception that you can make power windows without layering. Boris also has some sort of new 3Way corrector that if I were to buy a plug, I'd most likely get over Colorista II.

  • Can't apply color presets to multiple clips in timeline.

When I try to apply a color preset to one selected clip in the timeline,  color board lets me do that but when I select two or more clips CB disappears. The manual says I should be able to do this so I wonder if I have missed something simple, or is this a bug?  Sorry if it's been covered already but a search didn't bring anything relevant up. Thanks in advance.

Copy the corrected clip, then select the others and press:
    Alt + Cmd + V
    Job done!

  • DVShade Color Grading Plugin Update

    Hello to all,
I've just updated the DVShade plugin, it now consists of one plugin, DVShade EasyLooks. This plugin is comparable to Magic Bullet Editors Looks but costs much much less. I have included some presets with it as well. Check out the site http://www.dvshade.com for more info.
I will also be launching a new plugin within the next month entitled DVShade Toon'In. This will give your digital videos a cartoon look a la Waking Life or A Scanner Darkly style.
Reflection V2 is still in the works, I have had to change it to the FxPlug API as the FXScript API is giving me less than stellar results. The good news is that it will be OpenGL accelerated and will work in Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express 4, and now Motion.
Thank you all for the support, and if anyone has a cool idea for a plugin, or is in dire need of one, feel free to forward it to me at [email protected] Anything I create for you will be freely available on my site so that everyone can benefit from it.
    Thanks again,

  • Color grading plugin

hey, I am trying to find a good plugin for photoshop that allows me to easily color grade photos, but at the same time, giving me the freedom to be very complex. I have tried colormancer, but the interface is not to my liking. programs like premeire pro come with great tools for this sort of thing, but there really isn't anything in photoshop, a program that specializes in photo enhancement.
I was wondering what success you guys have had with any of the other plugins out there, because most of them cost money, and I don't want to by them all just to try them.
NOTE: i am not looking strictly for free plugins, paid ones will be fine.

Most of the grading plugins that i have tried (including magic bullet) are made for the person who wants to just drag on a preset, and maybe tweek it a little, and thats it.
Far from it. Looks can be a s complex as any other color correction tool but based on your complaints I guess you're simply laboring on the wrong assumption that any of this could be learned in 5 minutes or even would be intuitive. Color grading is an art in itself, that's why it's still one of the few leftover jobs in film production that pays reasonably well. It's a complex process that requires an eye for it and an understanding of the technical aspects. Without it, the most expensive and sophisticated plug-in is useless. In any case, it seems to me that you' haven't really spent enough time with PS own tools. No offense, but that "I want to tweak the hell out of my photos" comes off like in the end you still only want the same over and over used looks we see everyday, you're just making a fuss over it without acknowledging that a photo you tweak to perfection on your system may still look crap on anotehr one or whan printed on a cheap printer. Or more to the point: In my opinion, you have wrong priorities and obsess over merely one aspect of the work while completely missing out on others - like color management or while saving a tweaked photo to JPEG for Internet use may nullify all your best efforts. I'm the last to advocate PS as I dislike its clunkiness and outdated paradigms as much as the next guy, but really, you can do a lot just with its bundled tools and features and you should spend some time learning them...

  • Where are the Gradient color presets in CS6?

    Hi,
I've gone from CS4 to CS6 and when using the Gradient tool, there used to be a properties box that you could open with a whole list of preset color gradients to choose from, i used to use the 'Black - White' one all the time, which kinda blurred the edges, made a transparent gradient and allowed, for want of a better word, montages to be created easily, but now this function seems to have gone. Is it hiding somewhere that I don't know about? Or alternatively, can someone advise me on how to get the same effect that the Black White Preset used to give me?
    Thanks a lot
    Jules

Yeah, those gradients are gone in CS6. On the one hand, most of them were pretty cheesy; on the other hand, it's a bit surprising they took away those presets but still didn't offer users a simple way to save gradients.
One way that you can save gradients is as Styles. As an experiment, I actually did this one day for the classic Fireworks gradients. Once created, styles can be saved as a library, where you can call on them from within any FW document.
Another way to quickly create a black and white gradient is by setting the fill and/or stroke colors, which are the basis of gradients. You can reset the default fill and stroke colors within the Tools panel. However, this can be tricky, at times, depending on what objects are selected and what type of fill they already have; it can be easy to accidentally apply a stroke to an object this way. Alternatively, if Stroke is set to None, then setting Fill to Black will result in a black and white gradient when you switch to a gradient Fill type.

  • Color Correction plugin for Premiere Pro CS3....

    Hi,
I'm looking for a plugin for color correction in Premier Pro CS3.
I checked out the Color Correction tools that ship with Premiere (which are nice) and I checked out Synthetic Aperture's Color Finesse 2 (which is great as well).
Are there any other recommendations ? ;)
Thanx for your help in advance !

I've not used it, but Magic Bullet Colorista is one option.

  • Color presets

    Hi,
I recently rendered an image and put this in Photoshop. Turns out it's running in the RGB color channel.
Having then saved the image as a JPEG from Photoshop and reviewing it, the color scheme looks fine (yellows and magentas have the adequate glow to them). Then I place the image in InDesign and it all goes really murky and muddy (in terms of colors). The magenta, for instance, goes rather purple - only in a dark and sort of greyish fashion (not good).
How do I solve this? Do I need to convert my whole InDesign-document into RGB or? And would I do that? It's easy to change in Photoshop, but not in InDesign.
I'm simply frustrated, since it cannot be so, that my pdf needs to contain murky pictures, when they, on their own outside InDesign, look perfectly fine!
Sorry about that last bit - it's how I feel.
    Thank you on beforehand anyone!
    Best regards,
    Odin Monje

Because InDesign is used for professionally printed output on printing presses you need to be very careful about how you prepare your files, particularly PDF.
Color photos are printed using CMYK inks (and on some photo printers a few other additional colors to expand the 'gamut' or range of colors that can be reproduced) and there are many, many colors that can be produced in RGB that fall outside the range of what can be produced in CMYK, especially those bright and vibrant colors you are talking about. That's a fact of life.
Are you getting satisfactory prints from Photoshop? If so, make sure that InDesign is also using the same set of color settings (you can set all the applications in the suite together from Bridge). Next make sure that your output settings are set to preserve colors (many of the preset choices convert colors to one or another CMYK color space), and be sure when printing that you reset the default "Optimized Subsampling" to "All" in the Send Data field of the graphics panel in the print dialog. This should give you the same color on your desktop printer or other digital printer that you get directly from Photoshop. When exporting PDF, also be sure that the colors are preserved, and your PDF should look good on screen or printed to the same device. Understand, though, that you may not be able to get the same saturation in print (as explained above) that you see on the screen.
There is one other complication, and that's the use of transparency and transparency effects like shadows and glows. When transparency is "flattened" you can get areas of washed out color if you are using the CMYK flattener space on RGB images, so check the flattener space under the edit menu, and if possible export to Acrobat 1.4 compatibility or higher to keep the transparency live in the PDF.

  • PS CS3 Color Correction plugin

    Hi,
I've been doing a lot of color correction/adjustment lately in Photoshop CS3, Premiere Pro CS3 and After Effects CS3.
In Premiere Pro CS3 and After Effects CS3 I work with a plugin from Synthetic Aperture called 'Color Finesse' which is just so amazing to work with.
Unfortunately they don't offer that plugin for Photoshop.
I am looking for a Photoshop plugin that can provide the same depth and ease of use.
There are two things that I like especially in Color Finesse:
    1. that u see the graph of each color channel (Master/Red/Green/Blue) aligned UNDER each other ALL the time
    2. specific color channel correction/adjustment via RGB, CMY & YCbCr. Especially YCbCr is so powerful.
Is there a plugin for Photoshop that provides the same options ?
I worked with PS Curves, Curvemeister 3 & Power Retouche Pro but they don't provide the powerful controls and ease of use.
Thanx for your help in advance !
    Mike
