Free download, and install question.
I need to buy a larger h/d, but till then I would like to put as many programs as possible on a external usb drive that I have hooked up to my PC. I've been able to do this with some other programs, and would like to try it with my Adobe Reader and Flash. When down loading and installing it does not give me the option to install in a defferent location other then my C: drive. Can this be done? Thanks you?
From the MSI you have to create a MST (Transforms). In the MST create now the new property INSTALLDIR=F:\, where F: is your USB-drive. If you use then the command
msiexec.exe /i [MSI] transforms=[MST]
Adobe Reader should be installed to F:

Adobe Reader 9 download and install questions-bear with me here
I just uninstalled Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0.2 Update and Adobe Reader 6.0.1. Will I need to download the Windows Install Clean Up utility to clean out the old files before Adobe Reader 9 will install correctly, or am I exempt from that with version 6?
Bear with me here. When I clicked on the Download button for Adobe Reader 9, I was instructed that if a dialog box appeared with the option to run or save, click run. Normally when downloading from the Internet, I choose the option to save, and not knowing the best way to proceed, I cancelled the download. Is it best to run this, as instructed, rather than save it?
I'm using dial up. Approx. how long will it take to download Adobe Reader 9?

You may not have to but, it wouldn't hurt. Generally, you should use the utility if the install doesn't work.

Either way it doesn't matter. You are downloading the installer rather than the entire application. At the time you choose to run it, it will need to access the internet to get the rest of the files.

Can't help you there, depends on the speed of your connection. The entire application installer is around 25MB.
If you'd rather, you can always download the entire installer from ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.0/enu/AdbeRdr90_en_US_Std.exe . With that, you can save it to your hard drive and run it later without needing an internet connection. -
After I downloaded and install the latest iTunes software upgrade (to 10.5.1), I am no longer able to download free upgrades to the apps on my iPhone or iPad.
The App Store just says I "don't own the major versions", which of course is nonsense. It seems as if Apple's iTunes/App Store has deleted my download history. Any suggestions?

BruceActually It doesn't. It says he's on a MacBook. I don't know all the different types of Macs. I was having a ton of problems with iChat. I opened DMZ to my computer, knocked down all firewalls etc and left everything exposed, still with bad results. A few weeks ago my power supply went out on my D-Link. I bought a linksys. Since I'd left all firewalls off I figured it couldn't be the router. I power cycled everything n the netork, still no luck. Today I bought a universal Power supply and started up my D-Link Router. Everything worked perfectly. My wifes computer - a laptop running Tiger worked fine with the Linksys and did my machine before the Leopard upgrade. Now that I've got the D-Link online everythings working.

Today I turned on my iMac (OSX 10.5.8 1.8GHz PowerPC G5, 1.25 GB DDR SDRAM) mounted Firefox and was prompted to Download and install Firefox4 (FREE) which I did.
I was prompted to replace the previous Firefox with the newly downloaded and now I can't find the old version and the new version says it isn't supported on this architecture. The icon has a zero with a slash across it.
What do I have to do?Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.

I am trying to download and install OSX Mavericks but everytime i input my Apple ID it keeps asking to review my account and then starts looking for credit card info, I do not have a credit card, also I thought OSX Mavericks was free, some help please.
Yes I know it's free, but Im trying to find out how to download it and install, but I keep getting account review and asked for CC details as I have no CC I can't get the download or install it, any help please, what i don't understand is why would I be asked for CC details if it is a free download ?? i just want to know is there anything I can do.

I want to know why this is possible and if there are plans to charge for it in the future?I don't know Oracle's ATS products specifically, but many of Oracle's products can be downloaded and used for free for learning purposes.
Typically, if you intend to use the products commercially then you need to pay for a licence, otherwise you are using it illegally.
This is usually described in the T&C's you agree to when you download the software. -

I turned off the anti virus but the same thing happened, I'm getting tired of downloading and then having to uninstall Adobe. There must be an answer, something on the computer is not right. I had problems with a CD drive my computer stopped reading it, Replaced the CD burner and it still would not read, took it to be repaired and was a faulty registry which the guy at the shop fixed but the problem with adobe is only since I had the computer fixed last week or is this just a coincidence? -
I wonder if anyone can help with the above question about Elements 11 and my not being able to open Raw images, I have tried downloading and installing Cmaera raw 8.4 and DNG convertor but still not opening have not had truoble with D200 or lumix G5. thanks Yvonne
The D3300 requires Camera Raw 8.4 but Camera Raw 8.4 is only compatible with Elements 12 and later.

Camera Raw 8.4 is not compatible with Elements 11 and never will be.
You'll have to either a) upgrade to Elements 12, or b) use the DNG converter to convert all D3300 Raw files to DNGs then edit the DNGs in Elements 11.

The D200 requires Camera Raw 3.3 (or later) and the Lumix G5 requires Camera Raw 7.2 (or later) both of which are compatible with Elements 11. -
I have downloaded and installed the latest version of numbers on my mac. Everytime I save and then try to reopen that document, I receive a message telling me that I need a new version of numbers. Also, when I try to sort the date column, it sorts out of order. The last version sorted fine.

When you install the new iWork version, the old iWork version is kept, so it looks like you are opening your old version.
To fix this, open a Finder window, choose Applications in the sidebar and drag the new Numbers version to the Dock, so you can access to it quickly. Open all documents from this version. I don't recommend you to delete the old Numbers version in case you need it.

If you use ZoneAlarm Extreme Security then try to disable Virtualization.
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder.

How do I download and install 2.0 on my iPhone?
I just bought the new 2.0 for my iPhone (not iPod) but I am not receiving a prompt to download and install, which is what the iTunes screen message says to do--it states "connect your iPod touch (I have a phone!) and click download and install." I do not see anything that states download and install on my iPhone screen. This is on my desktop.
I then thought I might have to go through iTunes on the phone itself. I tried to go into WI-FI and access iTunes from there, thinking that might work. Although I appear to be on WiFi (It names my network), the E symbol for Edge does not turn off. So...I cannot seem to download from iTunes on my iPhone or iTunes on my desktop (MAC OS X 10.411). Is there another way to download and install my purchase? Is it the volume issue or am I doing something wrong? I am new at this, so it certainly can be end-user error. Unable to download and install apps from iTunes store !!!
I am in Bosnia and Herzegovina. When I try to install free or purchase apps from apple iTunes store, i click on the desired app and the window pops up where i need to enter and confirm my data, all goes well until the moment when i need to confirm my details.
Also, since there is no Bosnia and Herzegovina in listed countries (which is really unfair by Apple !!!) i have to use Croatia as my country but when i click confirm data and instead of going to next step and finalizing installation, pop up screen goes black and the only working option left to do is click home button.
I dont know if this issue has to do with the ipad2 i am using at the moment or with the fact that i live in Bosnia and Herzegovina, country not listed in the filling form and therefore i cannot use my address and phone and cc data for shoping or even downloading and installing free apps for my iPad2 ?!?
Could anyone please kindly help me clarify this.
P.S. I am really insulted by the fact that there are some god forsaken countries listed but no Bosnia and Herzegovina. - if it turns out that i cannot get apps for my ipad2 only because i live in B and H, i will return the device and become an ex apple fan !!!

I found information on how to transfer my itunes library to a new computer. I am going to use an external hard drive for this to transfer my itunes folder to the new computer.
I will then download and install a new version of itunes on my new computer.
My question is this. When I do this, will itunes have all my album artwork for all my library? My library has a lot of my own music and I have spent quite a bit of time copying album artwork that itunes did not add. I am really hoping I don't have to do this again!
