Free download issues

I have just bought my mac and tried to use my code to download the free iworks programmes, but they immediately state that the cosea have been used. They have not and i cannot open the numbers or pages programme unless i purchase them from apple at £13.99

Its a late 2013 and I have just uploaded the new os version. They are calling me tomorrow to get to the bottom of the problem I hope!

How can I get past the iTunes page that offers a free download of iTunes 10+ ?

My iMac G5 doesn't have the Intel Processors and it operates on OS X 10.4. Both conditions make it impossible for me to upgrade to iTunes 10. Every time I attempt to log into the iTunes Store, I am given a page that offers me the opportunity to upgrade to iTunes 10+ and I'm not able to get beyond the page and in to the Store. My account is current and I'm not happy with this strategy to make my perfectly good iMac obsolete and force me to buy a new one in order to access the iTunes Store. I need a way to get beyond the page that offers the iTunes 10+ free download, so I can purchase the music I want. Please help me get around this Apple ploy.

Many of us don't like it but innovative Apple staying ahead of the curve means those of us on the other side quickly get ignored. After all, who is it who is spending money on all that hardware and software; the people staying with the newest all the time, or those of us who haven't bought a computer or operating system in 5 years? It's a for-profit company so you can hardly blame them, though it doesn't endear me to the policy of not supporting anything older than 4 years or so.
More in response to your specific issues, with a G5 you can upgrade to OSX 10.5 (which doesn't require Intel except for iCloud and related) which will allow you to run newer iTunes. It's a bit of hassle and some cost.
Alternatively think about buying from some other online retailer such as Amazon and don't forget to write Apple saying what you're doing.

A comment on Niel's suggestion, I don't think anything less than iTunes 10 gives you access to the iTunes store.

I hate it when updates break things instead of fixing them. Can't Mozilla leave well enough alone? At the very least, each new release should be tested so it works with ALL PREVIOUS extensions!
Wait till you "update" to firefox 4 and EVERYthing breaks, including the buttons that come with it. There is no arrow next to the dropdown button, right clicking the tab bar doesn't bring up the correct menu, but one as though it were the menu bar (which is missing) and the information bar is missing. True, it's fast, but you'll spend weeks getting it to work properly.

saplicense is the SAP tool, that is mostly used for installing a new SAP license. This tool is command line based. In the easiest way, you just issue the following command:
saplicense -install
Then you are asked for the SID, the installation number, the license key etc.
The SAP License can be ordered online in the SAP Service Marketplace at:
http://service.sap.com/licensekey

I too was missing saplicense.exe from my ABAP trial install.
Eventually, I found it in the zip file "51032266_3",
"NW 2004s SR2 Kernel 7.00 Windows Server on IA32 32bit".

HD Movie / TV episode download issue / problem / difficulty

The issue is that the download is extremely slow.
I purchased both the HD and the SD versions of Lost - "the Final Journey" - (2.56 GB and 1.11 GB respectively), as they are free.
The download was proceeding in parallel.
While the SD episode was downloaded in about 3 hours (370 MB per hour), the HD version was not moving at all (or almost). It did less than 10 MB in 3 hours (3.2 MB per hour).
I do not understand why the HD version which is 2.5 times larger, downloads at a pace of 100 time slower than standard definition version.
This experiment clearly shows that my connection is fine, and there is something different in the server that holds the HD version, or the way it is handled that makes the download so slow.
(the fact that they ran in parallel does not matter, because when the SD episode finished, the HD episode downloaded alone at the same slow pace).
I had a similar issue on a HD movie rental, but was not able to resolve it then,
and gave up. At the time, I did not have the SD version download in parallel.

I guess Apple does not care enough to answer their customers. Do not purchase any more videos from the Apple Store until these forums no longer contain these download issues, especially with no replies. Funny, I don't have these problems with my PC companies!, You know, Real computer companies!

I have firefox but cannot get into it for last 2 weeks. It says free download manager is not properly working

I cannot download Oracle 9i or any free download from Oracle

After logging into Oracle and trying to download the free version of Oracle 9i, or any Oracle mdbs (I also tried Oracle 10g free download) from "http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/xe/htdocs/102xewinsoft.html" the web browser hangs for about 10-15 seconds and then displays
"Sorry. We can't find download.oracle.com
Try retyping the URL in the browser address bar above. Or, search the Web."
Is it something I need to do before downloading?

I also tried your suggestion from all my home computers (xp, 2k, and 2kServer). It must be something wrong with my router (all machines are going through the same router) or user id, doesn't it?
I will try the following: try different Oracle user profile (I will register my wife for Oracle) and I will try from a different networks (from work on Monday).
Any other suggestions are welcome!

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?

When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.
When the MacBook was new you needed to open the Mac App Store, sign into your iTunes/Mac App Store Apple ID, open the Purchases pane and click the Accept buttons. Those apps would then be available for you to download in the future on the Purchases pane.
Since you did not do that before and you have now upgraded the OS, I don't know a solution to your issue. Perhaps if you use Mt Lion Recovery and install Mt Lion again you can follow the directions for also recovering the iLife apps;

Free Download of Week not free?

Tried downloading this week's featured free download "Listen Up!" by The Gossip, and it displayed as full price in my shopping cart. The other free track by Jackie Allen shows up as free.
Anyone else having this issue?

Presuming that you attempted the download before the new free tracks were posted and were charged for the track that was supposed to be free, contact the iTunes Music Store customer support department through the form at the bottom of this web page and explain the problem to them. They should then issue a credit to your account.

Itunes canada - free download of the week

not sure what's going on, clicked on my profile logged in and the free download of the week ended up being $1.00. someone should check into this - i'm sure it's an error - matt mays - single - "wasn't meant to be"

It happens from time to time. Usually if you wait until later in the week, it gets fixed, as it has as of today (the 18th).
BTW, we're all just your fellow users here. The way to report an issue to the iTunes Store is through form on the web pages on their customer service site.

The only legal way to get iOS 7 beta is by way of the Apple developer program. It is BETA, still has numerous bugs and issues, and will be changing frequently over the next few weeks, and isn't ready or available for general users as of yet. If you are not an app developer, you have no business downloading it and would likely wreck your phone by doing so. It would also void your warranty.

Free downloads of the week not free???

Hi,
When I click the Buy Now for the Free Downloads of the Week, the song price shows it to be free.
But, when I go to my shopping cart, the price for the Free Songs shows up as $.99. When I click the Buy Now button, I get a message saying that the price of some items has changed and to check my purchase.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Is there a setting I can change?
