Free download with itunes 10

I downloaded a free tv show from itunes store onto my laptop. When I click it to play, it says my computer is not authorized and itunes will open for me to authorize it. I go to authorize it and itunes tells me it is already authorized...which it is but it still won't play. I tried a free book and it downloads but nothing happens. I downloaded a free song and that worked. Anyhelp is appreciated. Thanks

As I've already said to get this far: I have lost a lot of tracks while syncing my iPod Touch with iTunes. I have managed to get free downloads of some of the single tracks, but when I try to download entire albums the system informs me that I have already purchased them and a pop-up window informs me I can get them back from my "Purchased" file. I would not be trying to dowload them again if they were anywhere on the iPod, would I? The other problem seems to be that with single tracks I don't know before I hit the purchase button if I have picked it from the right album and I have had to pay for it again.
I feel that I have been totally ripped off by iTunes and, apart from ranting on this forum, I don't seem to be able to let my feelings known. It's like a guy from my local record store coming round and nicking my albums and telling me that it's tough!
The point here is folks, that it was syncing two Apple sites which caused the loss of these tracks and from what I've read elsewhere this is a regular fault. And please don't tell me that it's my fault for having a pc. Apple shouldn't sell a product for pc, when it doesn't work on pc!

- Are you saying that they are not listed in your Purchased section?
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
- Are they listed in your Puchases history when you log into your account on your computer?
- Are they still available now for purchase? If not then you are out of luck
If they are still available and listed in your Puchase History then contact iTunes

How can I get past the iTunes page that offers a free download of iTunes 10+ ?

My iMac G5 doesn't have the Intel Processors and it operates on OS X 10.4. Both conditions make it impossible for me to upgrade to iTunes 10. Every time I attempt to log into the iTunes Store, I am given a page that offers me the opportunity to upgrade to iTunes 10+ and I'm not able to get beyond the page and in to the Store. My account is current and I'm not happy with this strategy to make my perfectly good iMac obsolete and force me to buy a new one in order to access the iTunes Store. I need a way to get beyond the page that offers the iTunes 10+ free download, so I can purchase the music I want. Please help me get around this Apple ploy.

Many of us don't like it but innovative Apple staying ahead of the curve means those of us on the other side quickly get ignored. After all, who is it who is spending money on all that hardware and software; the people staying with the newest all the time, or those of us who haven't bought a computer or operating system in 5 years? It's a for-profit company so you can hardly blame them, though it doesn't endear me to the policy of not supporting anything older than 4 years or so.
More in response to your specific issues, with a G5 you can upgrade to OSX 10.5 (which doesn't require Intel except for iCloud and related) which will allow you to run newer iTunes. It's a bit of hassle and some cost.
Alternatively think about buying from some other online retailer such as Amazon and don't forget to write Apple saying what you're doing.

A comment on Niel's suggestion, I don't think anything less than iTunes 10 gives you access to the iTunes store.

How do I stop and delete a free download from Itunes?

I have a free download that was purchased from Itunes, but we have dial-up and don't want to wait for the download. We just want to delete it, but whenever we highlight it, right click, and hit delete, it still remains. Any suggestions? We're new to all this.

Free Music with iTunes

I just got an iPod and was informed that you can get free music from iTunes on Tuesdays or with special offers. How do I get the free music? Is there a special place you have to go on the iTunes site?

It's marketing. You'll likely find some stuff you've never heard (same is true for the samplers that pop up every now and then). A few of these artists I've gon on to add more to my collection, and a few I've tried to burn from my memory. Most are innofensively in the middle.
But hey! You never know your next favorite artist until you listen

In-App Purchase, downloadable with iTunes?

I downloaded GPS Navigation 2 - skobbler and made an in-app purchase (all maps of the world). But the files are several GB big and I don't have a wireless connection, so I'd have to download it through the cellular connection?! Can I download those files (in-app purchases) with iTunes? Downloading them through 3G connection will take forever and cost me a fortune...

Very slow music download with iTunes match on iOS devices

For some time now I experience very slow performance downloading music with iTunes match on my iOS devices.
Downloading music takes ages now. Not so long ago download music with iTunes match was as fast as buying music from the iTunes Store.
I tried to restore my iPhone but nothing changed.
The download itself is quite fast but after that the blue progress bar is full and the statut is "en cours" (french) something like busy/ongoing in english . The other tracks have a status wating;
Any idea how to solve the issue?

Same here. It seems to be better when the device has been set up from scratch. A delete and restore does not the trick. So I learned to live with it

How can I play apps that I've downloaded with iTunes on my Windows laptop?

I have downloaded the itunes for 64 bit windows, as my laptop is running windows8.1. Is there anyway I can play apps from apple itunes store or have I downloaded and installed the itunes software wasting my time for nothing. I downloaded Hay day, clicked on the icon in the itunes app but all it does is higlight it or if I right click it just gives my info as you would expect. Apps that you download via iTunes are designed for iDevices (iPod, iPhone, iPod). They will not work on any traditional computer.

Free artwork downloads with itunes 7 - any luck?

i have tried to get the artwork to some of the cds that i have ripped into itunes as per the new "get artwork" option in the advanced menu.
it successfully downloaded some artwork but has failed to download others that are definetly in the music store
what has other peoples experiences been?

I had a few cases like that. Is it possible you (and I) edited the name of the album or artist, to match similar entries in our music library? I do that occasionally. I think that would have confused the automated software. But 80%-90% of the album art that's available on iTunes Store downloaded correctly. There were some goofs, too -- especially compilation albums. It took about an hour of trial and error before I figured out how to set the correct "Compilation: YES" window to eliminate the 12-20 duplicate album views, and drop the correct album art into the Get Info window, and not the obvious spot on the main screen, where it says drop album art here! I know a lot of people are ******** about iTunes 7, but I'm a huge fan so far!

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.

Slow download with iTunes

I'm having a strange slow-down in downloading podcast, music and even a software update from apple itself.
It won't go over the 40 KB/s.
the real strange think is that downloading anything with Safari it goes 10 time faster (500 KB/s)
So it seems that it is not a question of connection but a kind of speed limitation in iTunes
any clue?

Mine is doing the exact same thing and it happened about the same time as you posted that. It won't download podcasts or songs. After a while it slows down and eventually cancels itself. I've tried cleaning my computer and clearing cache but nothing helps
