FREE Extended warranty offered by Motorola

Recently my Motorola Droid XT 926 went dead. Verizon (on line customer support) and my local Verizon store both told me the only thing that could be done was to buy a new phone for $499, since my 2 year contract was not yet completed to be eligible for an upgrade. They did not offer any type of "discounted" replacement. Rather than spend the money, I took it to a local cell phone repair center (called CPR) located in St Pete, Florida. The manager there confirmed my suspicion that the battery was in fact dead, just a few months beyond the 12 month warranty offered by Verizon. Upon checking with Motorola, he informed me that in fact Motorola offers an additional 12 month warranty on many of their phones, but the general public is unaware of. When I returned to my Verizon Store and brought this to their attention, I was told that they had no knowledge of such a program and that "Corporate" had not informed them of any such program! Wonder why? Obviously to take advantage of unsuspecting customers and suck them into paying $499 for a replacement phone! I contacted Motorola with the information given me by the manager of Cell Phone Repair and sure enough they do offer it. So rather than have to buy a new phone through Verizon ($499), Motorola agreed to either repair or replace my existing one, with a turn around time of 5-7 days totally FREE! They even offer Free shipping to and from! One would think the sales staff at Verizon (being the largest retailer in the country for cell phones) would be aware of this and offer this information to their customers. I have spent over $37,000 with Verizon during the past 10 years and this is the type of service a loyal customer gets from Verizon! So, thanks to a small local retailer (CPR, St Pete, FL) and Motorola, my problem was resolved professionally and in a quick manner. I rate both of them A+! No thanks to Verizon (their on-line chat support, their phone support, nor the Store personnel)! I give all of them an F! Hats off to CPR & Motorola! Verizon, your coverage may be the best, but your customer support and sales staff are terrible!

The warranty covers for manufacturer's defects beyond the one year given by the device manufacturer.  So if the charge port is not working because it is loose or otherwise damaged, that isn't covered because it is not a manufacturing defect. In that case, you would file an insurance claim if you have the insurance other than just the extended warranty.
In any case, I would check local electronics repair places to see if you can get the charging port replaced at a reasonable price.  I would look at reviews for these types of repair places, also, and ask around.  I have a place locally with a great reputation and super fast service, and they replaced a tablet charging port for around $60 for the parts and labor.  If the phone is otherwise in good condition, that would probably be the best option.  Then you cancel the extended warranty, because once something is replaced with an after market part, the warranty is void anyway.  Hope this helps!

  • No Extended warranty for HP printers in Canada!

I contacted HP to purchase an extended warranty for a newly purchased printer, since we do not have a long warranty on HP A-I-O products. I was ready to spend money on purchasing a 3 year extended warranty, but to my surprise, it is not available outside the USA.
I spent $299 on a L7780 printer under 3 years ago, that is now a pile of scrap, and purchased another C410a for $150, and was ready to buy the warranty online.
I wondered if I would have to purchase in the USA, and set the location to the USA in my registration, since I am 15 minutes from the border.
However, I would like to know if anyone else in Canada finds this a problem, and would like to get involved in a class-action suit to get the CARE PACK SERVICES forced to be introduced in Canada as well, since for a couple of dollars, it would mean having a 3 year warranty available to us, instead of losing out in a year.

  • Yesterday I purchased a new ipod classic to replace one that had worn out. The price was $179. I wonder if I am eligible for the extended warranty for $59. Can't seem to navigate through the apple support option to get answer. Anyone know?

Put in the serial number but was not offered an extended apple care plan. I guess if you purchase a new one because your old one is out of warranty you get a deal for $179 but you don't get a chance for an extended warranty. You don't get a new box or earbuds, just a brand new iPod. Good deal but since my first died under warranty, got a new one for free, second one I smashed the screen and got a new one for (I don't remember) and now the hard drive went and I paid $179 for a new one, I was hoping to get an extended warranty. But I guess not...
    Thank you!

  • Extending warranty for MacBook 13" (2007, Generation3)?

I have upgraded my MacBook from Tiger to Snow Leopard. Can I register Sow Leopard online with Apple? I bought my MacBook in 2007 and my 3-years Apple Care protection expires in July 2010. Can I get an extended warranty again for my Apple MacBook or software?

    Hello.
Apple does not offer a warranty longer than the initial 3 year Apple Care plan. You might be able to find a third party warranty service but I've never heard of any them offer their plan for a 3 year old electronic.
Luckily the Apple Retail Store offers free tech support at the Genius Bar and if your Mac needs a repair then a quote to fix it can be offered. http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar

  • How many times can I extend warranty (Thinkplus Extended Service Agreement)?

I have a T60, which came with an original 3-year warranty. Before the warranty expired in August 2009, I purchased Thinkplus extended service for 1 year (41C9279) for $199, which expires in August 2010. Can I purchase additional Thinkplus extended service for 1-2 more years before the August 2010 expiry date?
Lenovo still offers 1 and 2-year post-warranty services for my T60 (2007-C2U model), as this link states:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=TPAD-PWMA
But I read somewhere that the warranty can only be extended once. Does that mean I cannot purchase more extended service agreements? And if I can, does the Thinkplus extended service also apply internationally, if the original warranty was eligible for international warranty?
    Thanks

Model 2007 is pretty well-covered when it comes to IWS, but without knowing what country exactly you're planning on travelling or moving to, it's tough to say.
    Here's the list, though:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/warrantyLookup.do?type=2007&iws=on&sitestyle=lenovo
As for extending warranty for another year, give Lenovo a call and check first hand. The rule of the thumb is that the machine can't be under warranty for longer than five years of the original purchase date, at least to my knowledge.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,
    George

If you mean AppleCare, then I would believe the answer will be yes.
First make sure you have a full backup of everything on your Mac, then run, don't walk to your nearest Apple store.
Note: Due to your Mac now being in computer years, somewhat elderly, Apple may not have the require parts in stock. This will either mean you might have to leave it with them for a number of days, or maybe they will offer you a new Mac mini. While a new Mac mini (if offered) might be a welcome possibility be aware that the new Mac mini no longer has a CD/DVD drive and it comes with Mac OS X Lion and as a result might not run some of your old software.

How can I get extended warranty for my nokia 5800 express music

Nokia does not give extended warranty except perhaps in some promo. The dealer you bought it from may offer you extended warranty with them. Apart from that, none.

  • Apple sold extended warranty for ipod, will not honor it

Apple sold me an extended warranty for my ipod that was manufactured by HP. I asked several times - are you sure you support this model? They said yes. At the time, it was still under its regular warranty and starting to have problems. I thought I had plenty of time now that I had an extended warranty. But now they won't honor the warranty.
Where has the honor of standing by your word or honoring your mistakes gone? My opinion of apple has gone way down.

  • Z30 Extended warranty for black screen

    Hello everyone,
I see that BlackBerry is now offering an Extended Warranty for the Z30's with the Black Screen issue.  I'm wondering if I have the same problem and if this warranty might apply to me.  After the update, my Z30 would have the bottom 1/3 of my screen go black or mostly black flickering on slightly when charging overnight.  Once I do several hard resets the screen comes back on.
I've ordered a new digitizer because I didn't realize that this issue was this wide spread and that BlackBerry is offering an extended warranty for this.  I haven't installed the digitizer yet and won't if anyone can confirm that I'm having the same issue with the bottom 1/3 of my screen going black at night on charge that this warranty applies to.
Can anybody tell me how I can contact BlackBerry to confirm if this is the same issue?
    Mike

That is not the same issue. You have some other problem besides the black screen issue.

  • Extended Warranty for Blu Ray Player

    Hello,
We purchased a panasonic blu ray player a few years ago and this January it stopped reading blu ray disks.  After moving, I was finally able to unpack it and test it out again to no avail.  I then got through all of my receipts and found the original receipt but the warranty has recently expired.  Is there any way that I can have this device fixed through the store as my warranty has so recently expired and the issue was not resolved before its expiration?  It was the 4 year extended warranty.
    Thanks,
    J

    Hello J/haroude,
Thanks for reaching out with this question! Sorry to hear your bluray player has stopped reading disks. The definitely work better when they read the disks you put in them!
All kidding aside, there are a couple things you could try to troubleshoot for this issue:
    ·         Install any new firmware updates available for your unit (you can do this by connecting the player to the internet or looking on Panasonic’s website, by your specific model)
    ·         Clean the laser lens inside the player with a CleanDr. Laser Lens Cleaner for Blu-Ray Players
    ·         Perform a factory reset through the menu on the bluray player
Due to the expiration of your Geek Squad Protection plan, you would pay a non-refundable fee to have the player sent out for service. Then once the issue was identified, you should be contacted by a Geek Squad Agent with the quote for cost of repair before any further work is performed on the unit. Between the fee to have it sent out for service and the cost of the repair, you could probably purchase a brand new player for about the same price; maybe even less.
Please let me know if any of these troubleshooting processes remedy your issue. Also, feel free to reach out with any other questions or concerns.
    Thanks,

  • Extended warranty for Portege Z930-8113

Is Extended warranty ( Part number: EXT103I-V ) available for Portege Z930-8113?

In my opinion you should pick up info about warranty on official Toshiba page like http://www.toshiba.eu/services/warranty-extension/
Other way contact nearest authorized Toshiba service provider in your country. They can help you and offer exact information.

  • Can I purchase an Apple Care extended warranty for an iPad Air if I purchase it at Best Buy?

CAn I buy an Apple Care extended warranty for an iPad Air if I purchase it at Best Buy?

For me? Buying from best buy was my only option since the closest apple store is over an hour away. (and technically in another state)
Also, when I bought my iPod the warranty that Best Buy offered was far more comprehensive than Apple Care with accidental damage protection for up to 3 years.
And, when my iPad's charging port messed up, I took it into Best Buy and they swapped me out for a new one while at an Apple store I likely would have gotten a refurb.
When I swapped out my iPod 4 for my iPod 5 I took it into best buy, got $70 towards the purchase of the new device by trading in the old one.
Best Buy isn't perfect and not every store is a good one, but they are a good alternative or other option to explore for those buying devices.
I think my biggest beef when buying my iPad and later iPod at Best Buy is when I bought my iPad I bought the screen protector and they wanted to charge me to apply it...and it kinda rankled for me to be plunking down over $600 dollars to have them want to charge me $15 for a screen protector install.
